Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 60

Dec 3, 2016

    1. Not really? They are a weird in between size.

    2. I bought a pair of shoes at a meet for my moe boy that are a nice snug fit on him. I believe they are made for Narsha (Dollmore) line doll, and based on the few pairs they have up on their website, it seems like they're a good fit for the moe boy's 5cm foot. I'll check and see if I can find a brand name on them when I get home. :)

    3. Hi MNF thread, I have a question to all you FL-knowledgeable people! :3nodding: Is there any new information about the Minifee a la carte 1-9 heads? Can they be ordered again? Or are the molds irreversibly broken....:atremblin I have the feeling Fairyland attempted to do some maintenance work and destroyed them or weren't able to make them usable again. I sure hope not but since they have been out of order for some years now I don't have much hope...I hope someone can shed some light on this!

    4. On a la carte now the following heads can be picked: 3 (Lishe), 4 (El), 7 (Shushu) and 9 (Marcia). If you want one of those you should be fine. The others, who knows. I would e-mail Fairyland and see. They have been really nice every time I e-mailed and they tell you what's up.

    5. I really don't understand why. He's such a great mold. Not that I would ever get around to getting a body for mine though. There's always someone I want more. But perhaps there weren't so many send out during the event. Perhaps people prefeered Siean if they didn't get both.

Sarang is just the cutest and yours is adorable. She's the only event head that I've looked at and imidiatly decided I just HAD to order enough to get her.

      Your wish is granted. :) Here's Peta-Lynn. She's on a Moe body.

    6. They said they were taking them down for maintenance, but were actually "temporarily" discontinuing them. Enough people asked and they brought back a few of them. If more people ask they might open an order period for the rest. They have been hesitant to "actualize customer requests" recently...

    7. Mirwen spam! :)

    8. Wow, so amazing! I love Mirwen))

    9. @Dustbunnie OMG NO WAY! That is the first picture of Sarang that I saw that made me want one so badly! <3

@wrxgal Your Mirwen is just gorgeous and that wig is amazing! It really suits her.

    10. Thanks brightberry I happen to think so myself. LOL

wrxgal what a cute Mirwin. I love her wig.

Yunfei thanks and sorry for using the picture again. Due to cronic illeness I have very little energy so I don't take nearly as many pictures as I'd like to. Sarang is just such a sweet mold and I'm really happy with the face-up I got for her. I really ought to take some new pictures of her.

    11. The Sarang sculpt never even hit my radar before but these lovely and lively looking gals have changed my mind! Oh and @Anniku, we need to see those shoes!

    12. How about a little different look for a Sarang? ;)

(I know I'm in the minority, but I had plans to make my Sarang a boy from the start!)

    13. I've been super busy today, but had a small moment to change Mirwen's wig.. do you guys prefer her in white or the multi colored below? :)

    14. I'm a sucker for multicoloured wigs, and the one you posted is amazing, but I think I actually like the white even more on this girl! I feel like it draws your eye to her beautiful faceup a little better. Of course it depends a lot on what outfits she's going to be wearing, and either would be a great choice.

    15. Last I remember, they said the remaining heads weren't very popular, so they had no plans to bring them back. :?

    16. On the topic of old head sculpts, I'm SO happy they brought Marcia back... I finally broke down and got one on order!

On a different note, we haven't seen Zephii around lately! My little muse is still my favorite :)

    17. Sorry to bring up an old quote but I have to agree. I gave a Frapzilla wig and I can't get it to fit my doll even though it was modded on the same sculpt and I can't figure out how to style it. It's so fine. I'm going to have a go at heating it and seeing if I can get it to fit my Luca'shead today. If not, any tips on where to get a good male wig but where shipping doesn't cost as much as the wig itself!

Also, how do you insert photos from Flickr on the mobile version of DoA? I can only see the option to copy the URL on mobile Flickr. My modded Sia has found her look but still needs her name.

      Found her look!

    18. It took me a long while to style the white soy wig I ordered from Frappzilla, mostly because I'm so used to regular fiber wig! The hard wig cap takes some getting used to, mine hasn't cracked, but I'll definitely be more careful now that I know! The purple one I got is fine because of the styling, you can just tell where things go, lol.

    19. I REALLY love the multicoloured one but I agree that the white one draw the eyes to the face much more. Perhaps she could use the white one normally and then on special orcations use the multicoloured one?

      OMG she's adorable! :aheartbea

    20. Thanks - I think it was the difference that was causing me trouble. I've just spoken to Frappzilla and she's been super helpful in helping me with my wig and now it's perfect! It was lack of experience on my part that was causing me trouble!

@Dustbunnie, thank you! She had a black and purple wig before but I think this one works much better for her.

    21. Marisol was hanging out with me as I watched The Office on Netflix :D She's my mini me and angel <3

    22. I've asked this in the mods thread but has anyone in her used baking soda to whiten their minifee? Is it possible to do it without de-stringing?

    23. Smudge, I used the baking soda and peroxide bath on an old (2010 I think) body that had greened and was amazed at the improvement, but you have to use water so I would strongly suggest unstringing. Naturally, I'd never do it on a body with blushing or a faceup.

Also, back to the Frappzilla discussion - she was great to work with, no complaints there. As a matter of fact the reason she put up the styling tips video is because of me - LOL!

    24. Just wanted to chime in on the Frappzilla discussion and say that I LOVE my wig from them.

I actually find it easier to work with than other wigs I have (synthetic, bamboo) but that may be because it was almost the first I had so I am more used to it rather than other materials.

It is very fine though and the smallest movements can send it in to disarray, which is a frustration, but I feel it is worth it as the wig is so soft and so lovely. And the parting is amazing - so neat and looks great.

(I have ordered two more Frappzilla wigs in the most recent preorder and I can't wait for them to arrive!)

    25. Thank you! I'll have to look up how to do that

    26. On the topic of Frappzilla wigs, this one is my FAVORITE! Inspired by Sinbad from Magi: Sinbad no Bouken~ Also the reason why Fee started offering braids in her wigs! 8D

Rix is such an underappreciated sculpt!! After Karsh, I simply *love* Rix! Such a cute boy! :)

    27. Actually restringing isn't nearly as bad as you'd think. I had never restringed a doll before when a MiniFee body I bought off the Marketplace came to me unstringed. At first I was worried I would have problems but it went very well. Everything is marked with R or L to make it easier for you.

      Dustbunnie

    28. I'm the kind of person who managed to unintentionally DE-string a doll once in a while (gives a side glance at Noble who's right foot and calf are laying beside him...... :nowords: ) so I'm certainly not someone to give stringing advise. Noble is going with me to the doll meet today so a friend can restring him for me. :blush

    29. oh my he is handsome! :)

    30. @Renske129 Wow, she is stunning! I love her! May I ask where you got that wig?

    31. Thank you!

    32. thank you much^^ her wig is a alpaca wig made my the amazing Ilona ^^ She has a shop on etsy: CandyFlossWigShop. She makes such a beautiful wigs <3

    33. would anyone be willing to take a few shots of their minifee mirwen with a default face up? id like to see her face front on, profile and like half way between those (sorry i cant think of the word for that) im wondering about how her brow ridge, she looks to be frowning. trying to decide if i like the look of the sculpt. im hoping a few different angles of her face will help.

    34. My last adoption, I finally got it :) hope you like ^^

    35. Sorry I don't have one in profile and I don't have the energy to take one right now. Perhaps later. She's tan though.
      Mirwen ½ profile
      Mirwen front . . . .

xibita she's adorable. Have you thought of a name for her yet?
BTW I have one of those too. Her name is Charlotta

    36. Thank you for helping some tho, she looks lovely but I'm still unsure if I'd like my girl to always be frowning. I'm so bad when buying a doll, always scared I won't like it in person :(

    37. Sweet Kiss I actually don't think of her as frowning. I just think she's thinking very hard about something. Personally I don't like dolls that looks sad, worried, angry or evil. I mean I can admire other people's dolls like that but I couldn't deal with them myself.

You know when I'm in doubt I have this thing I do. I toss a coin or something - and if I'm dissapointed with the result I do the opposite of what the coin says. :sneaky

    38. I finally got my tan tika! But his bottom legs are even more curved than my old Karsh. It's not as bad as the one that was posted here a while ago, but it was noticeable enough to me to do a comparison. He is strung very tightly too, which I expected. Do you think it's warped enough for me to try to get new lower leg pieces? I ordered through DDE. I'm not sure how accommodating they are for warped pieces. It's a lot of money for a doll not to be perfect. But i might be a bit paranoid. What do you guys think? My old Karsh in NS is in front, New Tika in TS in back. 39. Thank you so much! I'll definitely check her out. <3

    40. I love my Mirwen with default faceup. To me she looks contemplative rather than frowning.

    41. i like the way you and @Shojo-Chan think abot the sculpt, although i dont think the coin toss trick will quite work for me, thank you for the idea tho

    42. She is gorgeous I have a Mirwen on my list. Mind m asking where you got her wig from?

    43. I just ordered my first MNF and I'm buzzing, you guys!!!

    44. @Araeyla That is wonderful :D congrats! Who did you order?

    46. To me it's not very noticeable from the photo. I would suggest taking a few more from different angles to capture the warping. As for DDE, you can always try. They've always been helpful whenever I've had an issue with Fairyland. Fairyland themselves have also been very accomodating. Never hurts to try :)

    47. Thank you! I've ordered a MNF Shushu with the glamour bust on the M line body. I figured she'd be a great first BJD <3

    50. She's beautiful! I love the way her hair and eyes and skin all work together so well <3 She's definitely striking!

    51. Hope I can ask this here but with high heel feet with shoes side do I need on Crobidoll? I have seen these cute sneakers:
CROSS † AMBITION - BJD CROBI

      Wil they fit?

    55. I'm such a bad doll parent, I've had my VE Chloe since the event which was like... 2010/11? She had her eyes opened in 2013, and I've only finished her first faceup this weekend. I need to make her wig, I just slapped this one on because it was the right colour, and she'll be getting my Lucywen's body when it arrives
