Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 48

Sep 13, 2014

1. Does she have the model legs or cutie legs?

2. Oh thanks everyone!

I am so excited about the new event. I am kinda hoping they are going to offer some of the MNF in tan. I would love that. But honestly I just want another one, so even if they don't I will still order!! I am using the event as my excuse to get one. I just can't wait until the 24th. Thank goodness I didn't order last week like I wanted to. Something told me to wait!

How are MNF with yellowing? I think my girl is from 2011 (I bought her off the MP). If I get her new hands will the color be horrible? A little off is ok but I don't want it noticeable on camera.

3. SmoteyMote: She has the cutie legs

4. Layneeloo I have the same problem with one of my bodies (cutie leg). I have one body on the model legs and I much prefer her ability to stand! I did wonder if the cutie doll needed restringing or it was just down to her legs.

5. Aireedhelien, so many heads...! Congrats!

NannaElle, what a beauty!

Shailara, why is no one talking about how sweet your Risse boy looks...? He's the sweetest thing, oh my goodness.

PaulinePol, your Dylan is stunning, as always.

I don't know how to feel about a new event. What with first, Fairyland really needing to calm down and take care of their last event's orders to try and bring back down their waiting time to what it should be. New dolls, event items, and event colours are always wonderful, but I gotta admit that their wait time is taxing.

I probably won't get anything this time around, unless I join a split for an event head, if the event head is simply irresistible. Otherwise, I think I'm good. One day I might replace my incoming girl in tan, but definitely not now since I don't even have her yet!

Idle thinking, but I wonder why Fairyland has yet to try a fantasy colour, since their name is, well... Fairyland, bahahaha.

6. Thanks so much, that's very helpful! :D

7. Cutie legs are actually a bit... off center - lending themselves well to the contrapposto pose. However, it does make them a little trickier to pose because one leg seems to be a little longer. You can play with tilting the torso left or right depending on which way she's leaning. I had a lot of problems with her ankles so I ended up sueding them with hot glue.

But yeah, see which leg is a little longer and try adjusting from there. Another problem I ran into a lot was dealing with the hip joint spinning around and pulling the elastic oddly - so pull the leg a little and see if that's causing an issue too!

8. I totally second smoteymote's suggestions of sueding the ankle joints with cuties legs. It really helps a lot :)

9. Mareepu Awww thank you ;;u;; This thread can be a little hectic. uvu;;; But thank you. Satoshi can be a little tsun, but I bet he appreciates the comment ^-^

As for the event, I am not really interested in getting anything. I have all the Fairyland dolls I want (apart from a pukifee UAU), so I don't think I'll be joining in uwu;;;

10. Hello everyone~!

I'm really excited, paid for a MNF Risse head on the MP today!!
She will go totally well with the Risse MNF body I bought from someone else a few weeks ago... :sweat *ahem*

I also have a small request, does somebody who has an Open Eyed Risse, post pictures of her wearing 14mm and 12mm eyes?

Thanks in advance <3

11. Mareepu Thanks :)

Sabriell - congrats :)

Scarlett gets jelous of Dylan, so here she is too

12. Oh man, waiting a week is going to be really hard. OTL I want to know who's in tan and who isn't!

I want to get a minifee body for Phaedra but I want littlefees too and if pukifee is in tan I'm doomed. /sigh

13. PaulinePol, Scarlett is so sweet. I'm still rather new to all this, so I have to ask what sculpt she is. I also would appreciate it if anyone could direct me to photo comparisons of all/most of the mnf sculpts in profile? Their faces really seem to change from front view to profile.

14. I'm with you. I'm a sucker for elf ears and event heads. I'd love a Nan '14 but I'm trying not to let my head collection grow any further.... it's time for me to think purely about bodies.

Is the waiting list kept up to date? There's quite a lot of orders that were placed in May/June that still haven't been received. I'm trying to work out when I might receive my order, but it just seems like a bit of a lottery.

15. Oh Thank you so much <33
I love how 12mm looks in Risse =D

Thank you again, they really help a lot!

16. Huzzah! I just got a pm from my split partner that our order from FL has been shipped! That means my MNF Soony and her M-line body will be home in a couple of weeks! =D
*excited jig*

17. If the event items are good enough, I might have to see if my parents are willing to actually order me a doll for Christmas... At least I'll probably be immune to any fullsets or new culpts. I hope!

And a late response to a much earlier call for boy spam (had to dig out a stand for him):

18. I've been having standing problems with both my a line girls. I have one with cutie and one with model. The feet seem to want to pop into a weird angle and not flatten out. I've tried restringing them and I can't figure out what is wrong. My moe girls stand like a dream though. It's weird because they seemed to stand really well when I first got them and now they keep snapping into a sitting position. My active boys still stand well so I have no idea if it's just me or what.

19. Oona finally got some new eye and a wig and a new outfit on the way! My poor baby has been slightly neglected! [IMG]

20. ... if that's of any interest to anyone, I just found out that shirts for luts model delf girls fit perfectly for A-line boys!

21. Would you happen to know about the Moe boy body? >.< I have a Rin on the Moe body (I wanted her to be flat and lanky) that would be cool if those shirts fit!

22. My older girl with the cutie legs does this. It seems to be a problem with the upper legs and butt parts on mine.

23. I don't have a moe boy, but since he is skinnier I assume the clothes would be more loose.
I personally don't mind a loose fit so I would go for it, but of course it depends what you want.

(bad) pictures of the clothes here

24. Ok my spending splurge has come to a lovely end. I've found a chloe at a price I can afford and she's on her way to me soon! Her face is going directly for a face up, so that's exciting too! A celine and a chloe on the way! I'm in heaven!

25. Sorry I'm a noob about minifees....so is the moe body slimmer than the a line? My Chloe is on the a line body with the cutie chest. I want my next girl to be a larger chest....but I am not sure which body to choose.

26. Congrats to all those lucky folks with inbound new arrivals! :)

I'm wondering if I'll be waiting a bit longer than expected for my order because I picked a seemingly less-popular sculpt. Does no one else like Eliya? Poor girl.

If I get brave (and actually find some free time!) this weekend, I might try sewing dolly clothes...it's been a while. Might be interesting. :sweat

27. The Moe-line boy is about the same height as the A-line boy, but is quite slimmer. The Moe-line girl is quite a bit shorter than the A-line girl (most of the height difference being in the legs), but is a little chunkier in the belly/limbs, and usually has a much more ample chest. Hope that helps. c:

28. I do.

29. Love all the wonderful dolls there so pretty.:D

30. So what are the bust sizes for minifee? And what is the difference between model legs and cutie legs when dressing them?

31. You can view the A-line body here, and the M-line body here - just scroll down to see the comparison side by side of the busts and legs

A(Active) line busts: A (cutie), B (small), C (large)
M(Moe) line busts: D (glamour), E (full)

A line Model Legs: Front / Side
A line Cutie Legs: Front / Side

Model legs are slightly shorter and less curvy. Cutie legs are known to have a disparity in length - unstrung they seem to be equal but when strung one is usually slightly longer than the other - it gives a great contrapposto pose but a lot of people find it frustrating. I think they pose fine, sometimes it just takes a little more effort than with the model legs though. The model legs stand pretty well. I prefer the m-line's legs though the most. My moe-girl stands like a rock.

The bust sizes really depend on what you're looking for. The A-line's A, B, and C busts are pretty natural looking and also pretty small - even the large bust. The Moe-line's busts are pretty big but the D bust (glamour) is more natural than the E bust's boobs-in-push up bra look.

I hope that helps!

32. Now that you bring that up, my Shushu does the snapping into a seated position when I try to stand her up too. I have the model legs though not cutie. I'm guessing it's a stringing issue but like Czechmix's she wasnt doing it when I first got her either. I'd restring her if I knew what I was doing, but I'm afraid of making it worse.

33. That helps heaps thanks! I was just wondering because my two incoming girls both have large busts but one has model legs and the other has cutie legs. I didn't know if that meant different clothes but I guess not really.

I love the "learning" part of any hobby even if I come across as a complete noob sometimes! Lol!

34. It's no problem! That's what the forums are here for!! :D

Moe line can wear most of the same clothes. Pants are sometimes a bit long or a bit tight on the hips but everything is pretty much shareable between them!

35. Here's Mendo's comparison of the legs: http://mnf-faq.wikidot.com/mnf:legs

36. thakyuki that's a great comparison! Thanks!

37. Thanks for the help guys! I tried adjusting her weight by shifting her torso just a little and it helped a bit. I'm also messing with the hip joints to see if that is causing any of the problem. Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out without having to restring her or anything drastic like that. O_o

38. I have a weird question to ask...
Did anyone who ordered a fullset Tika end up with a mag ankle/foot on one leg and then a hook ankle/foot on the other?

I didn't notice this till about a month or more after I got the body from the fullset that my boy's body has different ankles...
I never thought I needed to check... I only noticed because I finally got pants for my boy and wanted to take off the feet to make it easier to put on the pants...

I still have the different ankle body, but I just wanted to know if I was the only one to get it. XD;;

39. i don't own one (yet) but Eliya is one of my favourite sculpts. There is something quite serene about her. She has been my 'next' girl for over a year now but other girls keep getting in the way!

Do you think there will be a winter event as well as a Halloween event or will the winter event be in January?

40. If it's a larger chest I would actually go with Aline. I have the "huge boobs" on one of my moe girls and it actually looks smaller than my Aline girl with the largest breasts for those. I also like how the Aline boobs fall more naturally, but with clothes on the "bra boobs" of the moe look better. It really depends of how you plan to dress them. The moe's are much smaller and cutsey compared to the Aline.

The model legs one I have is older and I just had to fix a crack in her hip spacer, She is the one with the biggest problem, yet my cutie leg girl is having the same exact problem and she is brand new and perfect. I'm pulling my hair out. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong.

I hope you find something to help. I'm going crazy. Maybe I should try stringing them looser? Do you think that would help?

wait a second....(sorry for another post)...do you keep you dolls in a sitting position when they are on display? I do for the majority of the time when I am not using them. I wonder if them being in the sitting poses for so long is affecting the elastic? Could this be why? I know where I live the weather is a little crazy (texas) so maybe the drafts and temp changes however subtle inside my home are making the elastic weird. I wonder if there's a way to string up the minifees with wire instead. This might solve some things.

41. There is no way the Full Bust looks smaller than the larger bust of the A-line. No way. I've had both and the Full Bust look very big no matter which body they're on. Are you sure you're not thinking of the Glamour bust?

42. I like Eliya o.o/ She's a sweetie!

Adore the glasses *-*

Weirdest thing I've heard o_o I don't have a Tika but most likely its an error on Fairyland's part, I don't think other people may have it. I'd contact them and see if they could compensate for you, send a free magnet ankle part. They most definitely should be sending one to you, since those ankle parts cost $30 dollars alone + plus extra shipping on your end is blegh! -_- Plus you only need one ankle, not a pair xD

On another note I just received 2 pairs of beautiful 14mm eyes from Oscardoll and will try them on Nova today and share some pictures! *v*

43. I have a minifee from 2012 and one from 2013, exactly one year apart and I think they look off when switching hands. You hardly notice it when you are not looking for it, and I don't know how it shows up on camera. But prepare to notice the difference.

44. Sabriell > 14mm are wait to big for Risse :)
Here is mine (again) with 12mm soom eyes

46. I don't think it is about yellowing that is a concern but more about the different batches having different colours. They try to be consistent but it's not always possible to have the same tint every time. Resin doesn't yellow quickly in general if it isn't in contact with sunlight a lot, but it still happens. I haven't owned Minifees for a long time to tell you much about yellowing, but I have two girls, one I got in late June of this year (Celine) and one secondhand (body for my NF head). The seller that sold it to me wasn't the first owner, but I'm guessing it was probably made in 2012 at the latest.

The body was perfect out of the box, nothing abnormal or yellow, but when I changed the hands it came with with my new Celine's, I saw a difference. Celine's were a bit lighter and more pink, whereas the arms of the secondhand body looked yellow next to it. It isn't a huge difference that shows in photos, it doesn't show when looking at it at a short distance too. It only shows when you or someone else concentrates on the hands and arm, or if you point it out, which to me is probably never going to happen.

I guess from reading other people's experiences the Beautiful White skin colour yellows quicker than the Normal skin, and makes sense that it shows much more than NS too, because its much lighter, where the NS, seeing as it is technically coloured resin, tends to not show as much if its just time that is a factor.

You could always try getting a pair of hands that are older and not recently made, you have a better chance of a good skin match like that. And if worst comes to worst, you can always blush the hands to match :)

Whoa, I thought this was the Ani head for a second o_o Great face up manipulation!!

47. I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes Eliya - and thanks for sharing pictures, guys! :)

Chamillia - I'm looking forward to seeing your new Oscar Doll eyes! I definitely want to get some in the (hopefully near!) future, but I need to invest in more wigs and shoes first. :doh Did you order direct from the manufacturer, or?

48. Renske129, I love the stylization on your Eliya's eyes!

49. She looks really cute and serious.
12mm really is the better option for Risse, at least to me.

Thank you also for the picture, it really helps.
Now to just think of a colour and order them =D

50. Uh.... which bust are you referring to? If you're comparing Moe D (glamour) and E (full) - the full breast is WAY bigger than either D or A-line's C (large) breast size?

Here's a breakdown of busts from left to right: A (cutie), B (small), C (large), D (glamour), E (full) - as you can see the last two D and E busts are larger than the first three A, B, and C busts. A, B, and C are on the A-line, D and E are on the Moe line

51. NannaElleIn my experience, minifees yellow somewhat fast. I wouldn't trust 2011 to be the same pink-ish tone as a 2014 doll.

Also, totally personal opinion again, I think Risse looks best in 14mm UAU;;; 12mm are too small.

52. Thank you so much stuartsmycat! Scarlett is a mnf CHLOE sculpt and I can show you a profile of my mnf MIRWEN too, Dylan:

53. Can I ask where everyone gets their cute clothes? I see all these adorable outfits, yet when I look to buy, I can't find much I like....

55. Etsy is a great place to look!! :D I find lots of cute things on there...XD

56. etsy is my favorite place to shop! You can check out my Minifee sized favorites here: https://www.etsy.com/people/SmoteyMote/favorites/bjd-minifee?ref=favs_index_5

I know a lot of people go to taobao as well but I just haven't had the energy to go that route since you deal with a middle-man. Too complicated for my tastes.

57. I don't know how you do it but you find the best things *-* I never have any luck with Etsy at all. Plus, because of the handmade nature of the site, they're always so expensive :'D Taobao is more of my specialty :') Even though its a PITA sometimes (because its not in English), and most stores offer MSD sizes and not Slim MSD, but there are a huge selection of amazing clothes that are cheap!

Here are my tips:
* If you want to dig through Taobao, type your search terms on Google with the word Taobao at the end. Eg: "1/4 bjd taobao". Keep it simple. Very very simple. lol.
* For Slim MSD, some stores offer clothes that are modelled by Asleep Eidolon MSDs, which are slim MSD if I'm not mistaken, so those should fit well, although I haven't tried them yet. Don't ask me how I found that out. I dived in and did my research :'D Oh the things I do for the sake of my dolls.
* TaobaoFocus is a great Taobao proxy. Very organised and very easy to use! You can specify colour and sizing for each item to avoid any mistakes with the order, and they will ask the seller for you if you have any questions, and let you know. Although this doesn't mean that you can request anything from the store and they will customise clothes for you, some stores do that if they state on their listing page, but not everyone will.
* For instant translation, use Google Chrome. Surf Taobao as if its in English automatically :P

Feel free to ask me any questions if you decide to go through TB ^_^

Also, I'd like to add that we'd all be doomed if it weren't for Unoas. Most slim MSD clothes are made because of Unoas xD

58. OH! Her Delicate Strength (HDS)/Brennil is great but she only does limited orders so you have to grab them quickly!

Her site is here: http://www.brennil.com/index.htm
