Hehehe, that's how I pose my girls too! Put them in the pose, then set them down and wiggle them around while holding their feet down until they balance. Doing it with one is fairly easy for me now, but doing two leaning on each other, hugging, or just standing close together is a nightmare! XD I'll think I've got them posed and then one will fall and take everyone else down with her... ._.

No fancy posing here really, but this is the most dynamic picture I have of my A-line girls; one on model legs (Celine) and one on cutie legs (Miyu). I don't have them anymore at the moment, but I'll get them again eventually!

my method for one foot standing is much like mendo's.
I do most of the posing while holding the doll then hold the one foot they'll be balancing on steady to the ground while I kinda wobble them around until they'll stay.
I find that this is usually easier barefoot or with pretty form fitting shoes rather than loose stuff like big boots or sneakers 'cause in loose shoes their foot is more likely to shift and they'll lose balance.
but yeah one you get the hang of finding that balance it's really easy.
[edit] oh and stringing does make a big difference.
Lena could stand to be tightened a little right now, so her ankles wobble a bit and it's a little more tedious to get her to balance on one foot.

I apparently never get her feet in the shot unless she's sitting xD
but here's one where she was balanced on her left leg, kind of with her ankles crossed.

 

It's amazing what a good stringing can do for a MNF! I'm so envious of all of you who can get your dolls into those awesome poses...I can barely get Zachariah to stand! Not sure if he's too tight or too lose, one of his legs likes to bend upwards (as if he was trying to stand on one foot) all the time, it kind of feels like one leg is longer than the other but that's probably a stringing problem right, I'm terrified to restring him though, I don't have the arm strength so he'd probably end up really floppy! My Ryeon on the other hand oh man I LOVE him, rarely gives me trouble (unless he's wearing pants but that's mainly because of me) so I have more fun posing him than Zach QmQ. Also does anyone know how a mnf shiwoo looks in 12 & 16mm eyes? I need some fox eyes for my boy but the size range is weird so I'd like to see how 12mm would look before buying & just so I'm not coming in empty handed here's my fox boy Basil!

oh i love doing a couple together... i just kind of prop them against eachother and use them to hold eachother up lol i'm so rusty at it now though. i tried to take a pic of gabe and meryll together and it just wasn't happening, which i dunno if that's ever happened to me before LOL

love the poses! really great job!! i do love the m-line's lower center of balance!

 

I'm really impressed how your MNF stand in so awesome pose I've try with my MNF (who is already 3 years old) and she can't stand so well ^^" maybe I need to restring her !

 

I guess I just need more practice posing two together haha! I keep fiddling with head angles and hands and wigs to get everything just perfect, and then before I know it they're toppling over... e_e

on another note. Does anyone know how well the Doll family MSD jointed hands would work on a minifee? I got a good deal on some and wondered if anyone besides me has thought about putting jointed hands on a minifee. Maybe I'm charting new territory here.

Unfortunately FL have a habit of doing this. My girls were strung way too tight that I couldn't do anything with them. I had to restring them.

 

So, my Risse is home and I am having a few logistic issues with her clothes...but she is damned cute! I don't normally go for teeth, but on her it works. Then again, they were only obvious on her blank sleepy head...

Also, the event head is drastically cuter in person!

 

Oh oh oh I am dying to see her!

 

thank u mendo & girrl my shiwoo is modded tho so I'll have 2 experiment! Also it's my WORST nightmare getting my two dolls to pose together omg! One usually knocks the other over & I'm just done by that point.

 

Unfortunately, I don't think it would work at all. I was able to compare the Doll Family jointed hands to my minifee and they are considerable bigger. Even if they managed to fit the arm socket they would look ridiculously large.

 

I'm terrible at getting my dolls to pose and certainly, I've yet to master posing them on one leg. Here is my Nan in a nice safe lying down pose!

the gray cat is 6cm the brown is 5. i had a hard time figuring out what size to get my girls, so though some people here might like to see.

 

Nandi is beautiful. Your cats are cute too. I ended up getting a smaller sized cat than I wanted to as they only had one size in stock at the time and I was desperate to buy!

 

Some times, FL put so short elastic strings, that the doll is very straight.
A friend of mine had that problem and she let me her doll to restring
I measured those elastics, they were 6 cm shorter than my MNF's

 

thanks. mine are now begging for a puppy, and the one they want is a size too big, but its a unique color that i cant order in the smaller size, so i'm torn...

I honestly feel like one of his legs might be slightly longer than the other, too; as I continually disassemble and reassemble him, I'll probably take the time to check, and may do a bit of sanding to even them out if it turns out he is uneven. (He's currently undergoing some intensive mods that require a lot of restringing.) He has at least gotten better since I redid him with a new string/neck piece set from FL, but he shifts a lot still and can't stand at all in his boots, they may need some padding or heel feet to work for him. Hopefully you can get some help restringing Zach so he can stand better for you!

 

Please share photos!! So now we can confirm that Risse does have teeth indeed ^^ And that event head looks so amazing I must have it!!

Auntbear, I made the mistake of looking at their website and I so want one of those cute little dogs now. I'd also love to upgrade my cat to 5cm as I think 4cm is too small but they are not cheap!

 

Your Nandi is lovely and now I am going to have to add a couple of cats to my wishlist, my girls need cats. I also really like her hat, did you make it?

 

May I please request for everyone that receives their NF heads to please spam them as much as possible? I've only seen one photo of it and I love it to be honest! I'm waiting for one myself but would love to see more of it in the meantime xP;

AHHHH so it is possible for one of the legs to be longer! I wonder if anyone has had this trouble with the girl MNFs? It seems like the girl body doesn't have nearly as many problems as the boys get (the dreaded torso slide of doom comes to mind) I've been considering getting my shiwoo a girl body & just modding the chest but is that even possible on the A-line & M-line? I know it was for the B line but since the chest is the torso piece with those two the resin might be thinner.
All these girls really make me want an actual girl though, I just don't know which one I would even get, they're all so pretty!

 

The girls have this problem too at least with the cutie legs.

I am so excited for the NF head I can't wait till mine comes in!!! I am more excited for the event head than I am for Risse for some reason, while I still adore the Risse sculpt I already have ideas in mind for the nf head(character and style)!

you should never look at their website.... we are saving up for a 4cm daschund, a 5cm pug, and debating on adding a 4cm kitten in lavender point (i know we are in trouble when the kitten already has a name ) and then there is the upcoming dragons! too bad they can only come on here attended by other dolls and can't have their own thread! i actually think your cat looks fine with your girl. she just looks partly grown instead of an adult.

auntbear, Miss Emily is a Marcia sp head, and the body is indeed a Doll Chateau Elizabeth body. I got the human option too (K body 07) which she will wear most of the time. But of course she had to go on the spider first

I suppose I'll see if the string stretches out a bit.
But I think she might have to be restrung. I guess I have to learn sometime how to do it.
And it's a good thing I have extra elastic string. XD

On the other hand. I don't think I like the NF event head as much as I did the first time I saw it.
Might have to see what you guys do with her to make up my mind. Haha.

Wow, it really does emphasize how much she looks like Chloe, but with Celine's almond shaped eyes.

Lyzrd: She's adorable! I'm still on the fence about owning her myself, but I very much look forward to all the owner pics once they get a chance to really customize her. I think the hidden teeth are awesome. It lets her go from a strong face to an innocent one, I think.
