Nanuri is adorable too, I didn't realize how BIG her eyes were! Or perhaps it's how bright the ones she's got are, but she's lovely nevertheless.

And my nanuri has oscar eyes! That's probably why they look extra sparkly!

 

Wow! A new thread, and several pages long already!

For those of you with Mako eyes, how do you think they fit? I always have problems with eyes gaping. I especially had those problems with my sweet little Rena. Lucky for me the ones I had in mind for her where flat oval glass eyes. So it worked out in the end.
I wouldn't mind you guys naming all companies that sells eyes you think fit well. BJD eyes are the bane of my dolly hobby existence.

Also, still keeping my fingers crossed for some El. I miss seeing Els so much and he's the next on my "to buy" list.

I think the eyeco softglass eyes are fantastic. You can buy them through safrindoll or directly through eyeco. I like MakoEyes a ton but sometimes they do gap. They seem to be fine in my Mirwen though, but she has smaller eyeholes.

Here you can see the gaping but it's nowhere near as noticeable when makeup is on.

These are the eyeco softglass eyes. They have a larger sclera (white) and because they're flexible you can press them into the corners with putty and leave no gaps!

What are oscar eyes? I haven't heard that particular term before.

 

Oscar eyes are just a brand name (like mako eyes or masterpiece eyes!)

 

I'll try to make an effort to post more pics of them!!! Yes, Leaf is a nanuri 14, sorry, I should have been more specific!
And yep! Just like SmoteyMote said, oscar eyes is a brand that makes eyes with tiny rhinestones in them that they look sparkly and pretty!

Nihmo My tika has 14mm mako eyes and they fit pretty well with no serious gaping!

Finally got my FL order, which means at long last I finally have a full MNF. (And not content with that, I jumped straight into two full MNFs, but that's a photo for later.)

I'm really in love with their height difference and color contrast... I'm also much happier with Ed's posing now, since his legs got restrung in this process (some idiot lost his original neck piece and that idiot is me). He's never stood for me for more than a few seconds in the past, but these two stood like this for me for several minutes, until I took them down myself.

 

Hi everyone, I'm new to this thread!

I'm currently waiting on a Juri '13 head, which will be my very first doll part from Fairyland! I want to get her an M-line body, but I need it to have a cutie or small bust. Don't know how I'm going to accomplish that one I wish Fairyland sold the M-line body with smaller bust options.

Nihmo I use 12mm makos in my celine and I don't haven't any trouble with gapping, I love them! I have ordered 12mm makos for all three of my incoming MNF girls too. I use skin coloured sculpey as putty so if there is any gapping it's not noticeable at all!

clothes have started arriving for my new girls now, I'm so excited! Eva decided to try them on since Fairyland are taking their sweet time shipping! Oh well, it will be worth the wait. So what do you think she suits more, cutesy or punky? :P

you could put up a want to trade thread in the marketplace and try to swap chest pieces with someone who want the bigger moe line bust,or buy the two bodies, swap the two pieces yourself and sell the spare

I'm new to DoA but i think this thread looks the best to ask this question.

I'm thinking about getting my very first BJD and it stands between Chloe and Celine from Fairyland. It doesnt matter that much to me if i buy her from the secondary market, ofc i dont want a recast. Or should i buy her from Fairylands website instead? I'm thankful for answers and advice!

 

Thank you all! I agree she can pull off both easily, however neither of these are actually for her! The cutesy outfit is for incoming sarang and the punk outfit is for incoming chloe. Things are arriving for them frequently now! I hope they will ship soon!

Welcome to the hobby! Great choice to start with a minifee, and I love both chloe and Celine. At the moment fairyland are taking well over 4 months to ship. I decided to order my first minifees direct from fairyland on Jan 31st but the wait was so long I ended up buying my Celine from the MP!! (And I am STILL waiting for that order to ship by the way!) It's hard to tell whether the ones you want will come up on the MP though. I guess it all depends on how patient you can be for your first doll, I couldn't hold out! Maybe you have more willpower than me though!

Yes the minifee are great in length and size for beginners like i'm now. Yeah me to, i love the both of them. Oh so have i heard, it's hard to wait so long and painful really, i agree with you! If i could get a Celine or Chloe from the secondary market i would be more then happy to purchase her.

Welcome! My first BJD was a FL MNF too!!! I bought a Rheia last July and she arrived in November. I have been totally in love with her since!! FL has gotten A LOT slower since then!! I hated the wait part as well. Buying second hand is wonderful. As for staying away from the recast dolls and not getting burned, make sure you ask a lot of questions about the doll you are purchasing, see if she comes with the original box, ask for lots of pictures, ask to see a photo of the inside of the head, ask if they are including any receipts or emails from the company.

 

Thank you apestarbright for the infomation! It's really important to know this before i purchasing anything. Rheia are so adorable aswell! Yes it's a shame that FL have gotten so slow.. I still can't enter the marketplace here on DoA, i wish i could but i'm not in the level or have enought with points. That makes it harder for me to find someone that are selling the dolls iam looking for. I have to get patient, but it's pretty hard. I am really glad and thankful for the answers i have got! Thank you all again for helping me and giving me advice.

I enjoyed all of the Mirwen spam on the previous page because I've pretty much decided that's who is going to be my androgynous girl/boy and take the one-piece torso that I got from FL. I still need a faceup for my Sarang but that won't happen until later because I just bought a Lati from their release. Hopefully FL won't do anymore so I can work on the girls that I have.

Of course I can't leave without spam. I've been sewing for Jade and it is a harrowing but fun experience.
