Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 45

Can anyone tell me which size leekeworld wigs fit best on MNF's? Specifically the Rin and Sarang sculpts but really any help is appreciated. Im interested in getting some wigs from leekeworld through DDE of the custom colors U-097 & U-102
So any help as to which size I should get would be awesome c:

Also im getting a siean! So could I have some siean spam? Are there any boy Sieans out there too by chance?

 

As for Siean, I didn't actually think it was a bigger size head as being Minifee. Maybe I should do a little bit of comparison with the heads I have, I was just exited to get one I didn't think about the size. ^^; Now that I look at the photos I've taken it does look a bit big but maybe there's the not-so-good photo angle for Siean too, and the big fluffy fur wig really doesn't help. Now back to lurking mode...

I love boy Sieans but she is gorgeous. Mature faceup on her looks cool.

 

For boy bodies as potential hybrids to Fairyland:
An Angellstudio custom match would work. the body is a bit sturdier than the delicate MNF bodies but poses well and the neckpiece fits well too. I sent them a MNF hand for a custom resin match (which only costs 15$ extra!) and received a body that matched the hand REALLY well. I have my Nanuri2014 head on it which is slightly lighter than the hand I sent. Since the Siean head is even bigger than the Nanuri head, the proportions should work really well. If somebody is interested, I can try to find some of the pics I took or take some new ones soon.
Another option might be the souldoll old boy body - the necksize fits well again and the resin colors are very similar as well. The body is also somewhat bigger than the MNF one, allowing for better proportions with the Siean head

For girl hybrids:
Right now, I can only think of the Souldoll NL body with good resin match and good proportions to a bigger MNF head. I have a Chloe head on a NL body and think a Siean might still work. The match is "only ok" in my case because the head is from May 2011 and the body from December 2013. The body matched very well with the Nanuri 2014 head which was cast around the same time as the body.

Not sure about Rin but the Sarang needs a 6-7. I have mine in a 7-8 and it was super loose so I had to tack it in the back which works fine (you can't tell unless you take the wig off and see the stitching) but if you have your heart set on a limited color like I did it could work best bet is to get the right size if you can

While I don't necessarily agree with sizes 6-7 for MNF on any other brand of wig I've purchased, I can tell you without doubt that 7/8 Leeke wigs are HUGE on every MNF I've tried it on. Including: Nanuri 2013, Shiwoo, Carl, Juri 08, Juri 10, Chloe, Soo, and I believe a few others. I recommend getting the 6/7 in Leeke wigs.

 

It kinda did! Blonde dye turned brown, so after the peroxide it got significantly lighter into an actual blonde. I have been dyeing hairs for the past three days over and over again, and it's really taken a toll on my lungs :') I just finished dyeing the brown parts and let them out to dry. When they're done, I will finally start assembling the wig, which is not something that'll be easy either but hey, anything but horrible dye fumes
Can't wait to see the final wig and share with you guys >_<

@ PuffyPuffers: Wish I read that sooner xD That explains why the second batch that had peroxide applied didn't get a lot lighter like the first one, because I didn't cover them :P The first batch I did, but I didn't know it even made a difference. Also, I thought the hairs should be dry before dyeing o_o I guess it only applies to Alpaca?

Seriously I adore alpacas, they're the cutest, but their hairs-sjbfjsgfgsnjScscsscDCfffFFFFff!!!!

 

xaya I think your Siean looks great! You've done a great job with her clothes too.


Oh, and, I HAVE A BODY INCOMING FOR MY JURI 11 HEAD!! *Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

 

I like my Siean on the a-line, and I don't think it looks too bobblyheaded. But I guess it is a matter of taste after all every minifee ever made is a huge bobblehead if you think anatomywise, anyhoo.

I also think that her proportions are better than most when it comes to face / head ratio. A lot of Fairyland dolls have small faces and huge heads, while Siean has a head that matches her face, making her face appear bigger. After all, she fits 6-6.5 leekeworld wigs perfectly so her head can't be bigger than the other minifees, that's why I think the difference is in the face?

Just like people have different heights, boob sizes etc, they also have different head sizes. But to each his own, of course just felt that I had to defend Siean a little

 

In my experience, if the hair is a little moist before putting the dye on, it doesn't make too of a difference. But you want the keep the dye moist as it is taking to the fiber

I'm assuming faces, 'cause their bodies are pretty mature IMO. Fairyland's style is more stylized than some of the more realistic dolls out there though - I highly doubt they are going to change this. That said, you can certainly make a MNF look more mature with the right custom faceup ...

You are right, MNF heads are normally a bit bobbly - it is their style and yes, it is all a matter of taste. (personally, I love that they are willing to make so many different bodies and bewb sizes etc.!) I also agree that the proportions of Siean's face was more 'realistic' than most of the others, which have child-like proportions. I liked my gal well enough by herself but she did indeed have a bigger head. (mine still fit the same sized Monique wigs) I should have taken this photo without the wigs but you can still see the difference here with my Shushu, who is known to have a big noggin herself

I know that souldoll WS matches up perfectly and I believe that souldoll NS is a perfect or near perfect match. And their bodies are definitely on the slightly larger side while still being in the slim msd category. You might look into that!

 

Drive by Spam of a Mirwen. This is Moira, who really needs more camera time now that she's all together and dressed and stoof.

I can speak to the size of Souldoll bodies relative to Minifees. They are just a hair taller than the Minifee A-Line boys. I'll try to get some comparison shots today. My bestie has two Souldolls and my crew are Minifees.

 

RE: Siean head debate... if they wear the same size wigs as the other sculpts, then it may be more of an issue of head length/depth rather than head circumference. For example, a lot of LittleFee and MiniFee can share wigs because their head circumference is roughly the same, but on LittleFee the bangs will be much longer even though the fit is good simply because their foreheads are not as long/deep as MiniFee in proportion to the wig.

Yeah! That's exactly what I have been looking into all day. I've been scouring doll sites comparing measurements and drawing up comparisons in my mind, and the SoulKid body seems my best bet. I contemplated what the Siean head would look like one a Double girl body, but I'm afraid it might make her too tall to fit in with my Fae court to be (all minifee hybrids, and maybe some Littlefee or pukifee for tiny Fae)

Yeah, but I think her face is wider too. Like, in a different way from where the wigs sit? I don't know. I like SmoteyMote's idea with the SoulKid bodies.

 

Hmm, perhaps between the elf ears and the space between the eyes, Siean's head is a little wider. I've never seen a MNF Siean face in person, though, so I can only speculate! I do like the more evenly distributed proportions of Siean's head, I'm just not in love with the lip shape. I'm dying inside for a Nanuri'14, though!

I couldn't find an exact faceup match but I thought it might be Celine because of the teeth but my brother says the shape of the mouth and nose look more like Risse. I dunno but she's beautiful and I want her ;w;

Thanks for everyone for nice comments for my Siean. ^^ I've got a herd of Tinyfairies which all have big heads compared to many other brand dolls, so for me Siean on A-line body looks fabulous! I do enjoy seeing my Siean, she's my oldest charachter and switched her from Kid Delf TTori Elf to Siean, mainly becouse I wanted her to have more mature look in her face and Siean worked out perfectly. (I almost fell for F65 Chloe but I'm much happier for the smaller size).

I quite like the height comparison between MNF girls and Soulkid girls. They're a nice bit taller. I think this has me settled on their NL body!

They should, since the feet are very close in size, but I don't have a guarantee on that. I used a Minifee foot template to make the sandals the Liddell is wearing. Adarhysenthe's Soulkids, old and new body, both can wear most of the shoes I bought for my Minifees.

 

Oh that sounds cute, I sorta want to do that myself with realpukis, those things in tan just scream brownies to me, but.... Im not exactly made of money so long term goal.

I don't think anyone answered this for me (only skimmed the last two pages) so... Iplehouse normal skin is decidedly paler than FL. I can't speak from personal experience, you'd have to google some comparisons or see if someone would link or post you a photo. It might be ok if you blushed the body or managed to mask the color difference via the faceup work but again I'm guessing. A white skin Siean on a white skin Jid body might be doable I can't remember how good the resin matching is though.... sorry to not be much help.

My Chloe has worn both their boots and shoes with no issues. They are my favorite shoes actually. So you should be good.

 

Yay! Thank you. I'm having the hardest time finding cool boots for my girl. All the ones I like are sold out - every time I hear of a company's whose shoes fit minifees, I rush off to check, but the boots are usually all gone.

I have souldoll boots (these) and they do fit the MNF A-line feet (albeit very tightly on the legs)

I haven't ordered in a while, but in my experience dollheart shoes/boots do fit but tend to look quit large on MNF feet. I think it is a matter of taste - for me, they are too big

 

I wouldn't call any of their resin colors a match. FL normal is darker than Iple normal; My white Juri 08 is a bluish white compared to my cream white Iple JID. FL normal might come closer to Iple's peach gold, only I no longer have a peach gold doll to compare with. I find the JIDs to be less poseable than the MNFs; the JID bodies are also quite chunky in comparison. I'll try to remember to take photos when I get home from work today.

Thank you, everyone, for your wonderful comments on Reshi! She is my very oldest OC, and when the curvier m-line body came out, I was ecstatic! She finally looks exactly the way she is supposed to.

Chamillia, I think you asked who painted her? You were right. She was done by Jointed Love! Most of my resin loves sport AngelToast faceups, but a select few, like Reshi, are exceptions.

 

Thank you! It's Suri Alpaca fibres from Stella's Fibre Farm on Etsy! She's really sweet and the quality of the hair is perfect! Although I think she is taking a break for a while.

I knew it! I visit Jointed Love's website almost everyday! Absolutely adore her work and by now I can spot it anywhere xD Those freckles cannot be mistaken :P

So I just visited Leekeworld's site and they have the exact colour I'm looking for in a wig, which is the one I also coincidentally spent three days working on. I don't know whether to be happy or annoyed but I think I'll purchase this one and add extensions and see if it'll look any better than the one I have now, although I am going to curl mine and decide later on. I also might get the new GoldSandy colour because it looks delicious as heck but we'll see :P I promised myself no dolly purchases for the rest of the year >_< Gaahhhh!

Also, this is a long shot, but is Little Monica's Little Harmony line considered "slim MSD"? I love their knee-joint-less heeled feet and was wondering if I can perhaps hybridise it unto my MNF? Or if there are any other knee-joint-less legs that could work on MNFs from other companies perhaps?

 

Chamilla, yes, the Little Harmony line is Slim MSD; unfortunately, I don't have the heel feet for mine, or an A-line/B-line female body, but the scale seems very similar to MNFs, so it's possible it could work!

 

Still in Oregon and spending time with the family, so still pretty busy, but I did snap some photos of my Rin last night in the sunshine. She's so pretty!

I just received my Siean head! Now to save to purchase that SoulKid body for her, and hopefully nab a commission slot with Xhanthi next time around! So excited.
