yay, my tan moe line chloe arrived! now i need to wait for my makeup slot to complete her! soooo happy with moe body!

 

My girls came home from the spa last night but sadly I was to beat to take decent pictures so hopefully I'll have some time tonight!

Everyone's dollys look great!!! I have been sorta lurking here for a while because some of my mnf are in stasis at the moment. I'm waiting for Corvin's head to return from the spa (he's done!) but not home yet, and I'm also waiting on Damon's body, and a new m-line for Ariadne

 

Well I'm desperate to see all the changes to your family - really looking forward to seeing Ariadne again thats for sure !

 

Well I just don't know what to do! I put my doggie chewed SP Chloe head in boiling water for about 30 seconds. The good news: the dents in her ear are now gone. The bad: she now has a flat spot over one eye. I guess it bumped against the bottom of the pan while it was in there. I was afraid to hold it in the water with tongs or put it on a spoon. Any suggestions? What do you all do?

 

I am behind on the news here. Everyone's pics are great but sorry you had a doggie chew AngelFace! I had it happen once, but I don't have any advice. I just cried

I *know* just a few pages back everyone was bemoaning the perennial "what wig size" question...but, I am one of the rare few who actually DID read the first page I checked the faq website where Marcia was listed at 7 1/16 cm head. Now, I have other dolls who are this close to 7 who wear 6/7 wigs, and some who wear 7/8, and from the What-Wig-Fits thread, it seems some Marcia owners out there are also having a problem...

Does anyone have any advice about which wig size to go with? I'm hoping for an SP Marcia within the week and I'm looking at For My Doll wigs....

Thank you, and I'm sorry to beat the dead horse But I *did* try researching on my own first And for what it's worth...the "what wig" question pops up every couple pages in every other thread I'm subscribed to as well. Just part of the hobby, I suppose

 

In all honesty, try boiling her again (tie a string through her neck hole and top of her head so you can hold her away from the bottom of the pan). The resin's memory ought to pop it back out again for you; I redid a mod a few times in the past by reheating it, letting it pop back, and heat-shaping it again.

MissEmily, I can't say how head sizes compare, but I tested a number of FMD wigs on a Nanuri 14 head; 6/7 fits snugly on its own, and 7/8 will fit with a wig cap.

 

Ooh.. those pictures are helpful. Thank you! Do you happen to know your Nanuri's head measurement? From looking at the FAQ site, MNF heads can be drastically different sizes!

I don't, off the top of my head! But using a dressmaker's tape measure, I get about 17 cm, and almost exactly 7", running the tape around roughly where the edge of the wig would sit. (This poor girl's getting so much handling without her body even close to arriving yet...) All the wigs did fit nicely enough (with the exception of the last one, that's an older/larger style than what they currently produce), so if Marcia's head is the same size, you could easily go either way (and just add the wig cap for the larger ones), leaning smaller for less volume and larger for more.

Thanks for the measurement Marcia's is 7 1/16 inches. Hmm. My friend with a Ryeon (measurement: 7 2/16) says no-way on the 6-7s for her girl. Only 7-8s. Must ponder some more. Thanks for all your help!

I'd say either a Celine or a Mirwen (with the brow modded). Mirwen definitely has that serious business look that current Dany has.

ETA: Just realised you have both sculpts!

 

Celine is good, but mine reminds me more of Sansa Stark and I just can't seem to make that switch with her!

Well I have a blank Mirwen head (still with the brow, I plan to mod her in the future) and a white blonde Jade wig. If I can I'll try and get photos for you. Not sure how much help it'll be since she's blank!

 

That would be great! I don't mind blank since you get a feel for the sculpt and not just the faceup

Shlee, I'm with you on Mirwen's brow, I love it. My Gwen is going through a re-vamp at the moment but here is one from a couple of months back. I hope to take some more photos of her today. I'm currently making a wig for her and want to see if it photographs with the flaws!

I don't mind the Mirwen brows, if the faceup Suits the look. Sometimes though the faces look so heavy with the droopy lids and brow.

@ Ravenwolf and Samson : I had no idea your gals were UN-modded. I can usually tell by looking but ... you stumped me. As someone said, it's all about the faceup - personally, I'm not a fan of the brow (Shadow's has been heavily modded) but I love your girls just as they are !!!

Thanks Ban- Ariadne (Ravenwolfs Mirwen) and Milla ( Mine) are overseas cousins. I think it must be down to their face-ups ( totally different artists )that the brow is overly obvious, I personally like the character the brow gives Milla. Having said that - I like the Mirwens with the modded brow too. I guess I just like Mirwen however she comes. Shadow and her mate look amazing !!

I sold my MNF Nanuri 14, I just couldn't bond with him, something about the lips I just didn't like. I'm delighted about my incoming Sarang so it doesn't sting as much. I was able to get a Moe body for her though, and find a swap partner for the small bust since I was broke during the event when I finally was able to secure a Sarang.

I can provide Shushu spam, plus seeing Shushu spam always makes me happy because I love the sculpt so much. If any sculpt would convince me I needed more then one, it would be a Shushu. So yeah, I would love to see Shushu spam too!

sophiesoliday That photo is great! Your girl looks like she has attitude but in the best possible way! I don't think I have seen a Shushu in a fur wig before, but it looks really cool on her.

 

My floating Juri 2013 head will get herself a body soonish, so I'm trying to find her a wig Found DollWig on Etsy, but their reference for doll sizes doesn't work does anyone have experience with their wigs and what size they should be for a minifee?
