Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 41

Do you mean removing the neck piece from the elastic? You need pliers to open up the s-hook that's on the neck piece to allow the elastic out. But you do have to start from the feet up with Minifees (pulling at the neck piece like you would with a normal s-hook on another doll can be very difficult!). Just unhook the feet and let the elastic go up the leg.

I thought I give adding to my cart a try to see how many Rin and Tika are left. I can ad 13 Tika and 17 Rin to my cart.

 

I've got a question~ I placed an order for a fullset Rin already to FL and it wasn't enough to get all 3 event #2 items. I'm trying to ask them if I can make another order and just combine it with my current order for the total to equal $1500 and just add in the other 2 options from the event. They don't seems to understand me though lol.

So I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this in past events or even this one and been successful? I'm not that far off from the total with my current order so the new one wouldn't have to be all that much.
Any info on this would be helpful c:

 

Have you already paid? If not you can cancel your order and just reorder what you want.

 

I wasn't planning on making the order til next week and the current order I made I'll have paid in a few days. I've read their shopping guide and from what I see there they should be able to do it since it says they combine shipping and will refund your shipping if the total is over $820 for both orders combined. I guess I'm just not wording it right when I'm asking them?

 

If wishes were horses... Somehow I don't think that the darker tan (I refer to it as "Tanning" as that was how it was sold) will ever make a come back, which is a shame, my Tanning girl doesn't have some of the sanding marks and seam line flaws that my newer tan girl does (or the Chicline.). Like sahoma - I do like the Chicline light tan, it is a beautiful colour.
But then as much as I would love Fairyland to bring out all three tans and let us pick, I would much prefer that they go back to Elf/Elf Vampire-ing the MNF... apparently the Lishe was the one that would have been next (after Shiwoo and Shushu), just before the split with Luts .

As for a tan comparison, in case anyone is unsure of what the three tans look like together - I took this before my new tan girl went off for a face up:
This is Magna Dea (old tanning - approx Chocopuki colour); Anna Perenna (new Tan) and Mithras (light chicline tan).

Oh wow, those are pretty light tans. I really do love the ChocoPuki tan; I wish they'd bring it back too. Is it just more difficult to make the resin dark?

 

I believe it's an unstable resin - more prone to faults like seam lines and bubbles. There are also problems with discolouration - the darker tans could "green" rather than yellow when they got older, I think the newer tans can discolour quicker than NS or WS. They also don't sand very well, particularly the lighter tans - you can't mod tans easily - the two lighter tans I have have a few massive sanding marks - along the head cap on both and my Chicline also has them on the tops of his shoulder and on his wrists. (you can just see one on the top of his arm/shoulder closest to the MNF in the photo).

I think Fairyland/CP prefers not to do tans, which is why they rarely come out, because of the difficulty with the resin. I think it was Luts who convinced them the first time with the dark tans.

 

That makes sense, even if it makes me sad. I always thought it was odd that you could get, say, blue skin resin but not a good, dark tan very easily. Maybe each time they do a round of tan they're doing a test to see if they can stabilize the tan so it has fewer problems?

 

I may be completely wrong, but from what I understand, it is the red dye pigment that makes things unstable. So darker tans need more red to be dark and that's why they're unstable but blue resin doesn't need much red at all, so it's far more stable.....I think. I know that green resin is super stable though, which again makes me think it's the lack of red.

Thank you very much for this Erratic Rhapsody! I understood how to do the cart-adding part, (that was how I came up with the figures) -it was when FL said there would be a ratio rather than a fixed number of each which confused me ^^'

Bit random, but has anyone else been wondering what Rin would look like with wolfy parts? She could make a lovely Holo from Spice and Wolf.... ^^

I hope I understood your problem correctly - here is my attempt at explaining:
You have one order, that you have already paid (or will pay soon in your case) and you want to make a second order. To save on shipping and to obtain all event gifts, you want to combine them.
To combine two orders, you just add the stuff of your second order and the qualifying event gifts to the cart and proceed to the check out. At the point of the checkout where you choose shipping

you would choose combine shipping. In the comment box I would put a note of "together with order nr. xxx, this qualifies me for the event item" or something of that nature to make it easier for them to follow up with the orders.
The only thing that might give you trouble is if you have already added an event gift to the first order that would count, thus disallowing you from reaping the benefits of the ordercombination and getting an "upgraded" event gift. I'm not sure what the easiest option would be in that case. perhaps cancel the first order and redo it without an event gift and later on making the second order with the combined event gift.
I hope this was somewhat understandable and, more importantly, answered your question.


I have a question of my own to the proud owners of the nanuri 2014 - what eye size did you choose? I tend to go for 12mm, but maybe in this case they are a tad too small? (sorry if this has already been asked)

 

Rikkuliam I would cancel my order if I were you and put it in again. I believe FL writes somewhere that combining orders won't count ;;;;

 

I have 12mm mako eyes in my girl right now. She doesn't have a faceup but give me a few minutes and I can get you some photos!

 

windspiel - Probably not the most helpful, but I've got 14mm in my girl, I can try the 12mm eyes I have later (maybe tomorrow?) because I'm in the middle of a project right now which will probably take the rest of the night

I didn't try the eyes in her head, and my Nanuri '14 is packed up right now to get her faceup tomorrow, but I'm ordering 14mm eyes for her. I think those will be fine, though it really doesn't matter in my girls case because her irises and sclera will be black.

My girl has a new wig, and i gave her beauty marks and eyebrows but you can't see them.
The pants i ordered got lost in the mail i suppose, but i'm happy about the wig, need to finish it though.
I'm glad i went back to my original plan of white hair + green eyes, it's lovely. I was going to dye the fur but the natural color was so pretty i just couldn't do it. o:

Girrl - I'm still amazed by her faceup and eyes; she looks like such a creative, fun doll to own! In your case, the whole iris is 14 mm, correct?

Shawnee - black sclera? that sounds quite cool. Seems like for the Nanuri people have lots of extrodinary concepts If it works out, I would like to make mine something of an alien-boy, so also a little bit unusual although this concept has been used before XD

SmoteyMote - thank you for the picture! I think I'll go for 12mm then - seems like there is minimal gaping and I prefer the smaller iris size.

 

Yep She's part of my Demon Mafia. (As well as my Juri '13.) She's kind of the silent "I'll do whatever you ask of me" assistant to Juri. They are both getting their demonic faceups tomorrow I'm excited. She doesn't have her body yet (I just ordered it like yesterday) so it'll be a while before she's complete, but I didn't want her sitting around blank anymore >.< She'll be getting a Leviathan cross tattoo on her forehead.

I love the conversation about eyes. I just recently acquired my first pair of Mako eyes and I looooove them, lol. But I put the glass eyes I had as "defaults" for my Mirwen in her today (as we await all the default Mako eyes for all my dolls), and I think they look nice. I really am glad I got her in tan instead of NS now. She just needs a new face up (though the one she came to me with is not bad!) and I will be one happy camper.

As for eyes discussion I also want to get mako eyes for my chloe, but not sure yet about the color (and not having funds now). But I hope to be able to choose once she has her faceup finished.

 

I asked the same question on board a few days ago. They answered that i can go forward: combine my orders and add two additional event gifts.

 

I ordered a few sets of hands in tan with the first offering, and when I got them, gave them all French manicures. It never occurred to me that I would ever get a boy! I guess now I'll have to order more "man hands!"

It's both exciting and saddening for me. It's really odd how much I fell in love with Rin, considering how much I was trying to dissuade myself from her since I couldn't afford her at all. I even started coming up with a character concept for her even though I had just told myself she had no story in my home!

 

UGH WHY FAIRYLAND WHY!?!?!? I NEED a Tika! And my chloe is just about to come in!Hey do you guys know if the Tika ala carte is here to stay or will that version sell out when the fullset sells out?

 

The Tika and Rin sculpts will be released in A La Carte after the event; however, they will not be available in the tan skin option.

 

Looks like anyone who wants Tika or Rin will be able to get the basic version during the event. I so wish they offered the tan skin though. Hopefully they won't turn into Lati and only offer tan skin with a fullset.

 

I wouldn't mind if they turned into Lati when it comes to tan. Lati has tanned dolls as specials almost every time they release fullsets. And I really like that you can choose to buy the doll only, you don't have to buy the outfit if you don't like it. On the other hand, fairyland shouldn't look to Lati when it comes to production time

Wow, fairyland works fast! I wonder if they will offer the ear parts too, otherwise the the magnets would not be too much use. (not including magnet parts from other companies. I would like to see how the tika head looks blank, I have an idea from the promo photos but i can always visualize dolls better if I see them blank.

 

The modification/faceup threads would have that info if you want to go looking for the best answers.... I have gotten my DES' slightly loose eyelashes to go back to sticking in their proper place with just a little elmer's school glue but there is probably something better than that since if she gets wet they are likely to come loose again.

Oh and she is totally adorable!^_^

yeah well, they still don't really have any parts for the chic-line and Moe-line back magnets (other than a pair of littlefee wings) so I'm personnaly not expecting basic fantasy parts anytime soon.

I use tacky glue for eyelashes and it works great. Just make sure it drys clear because some don't.

And it looks like there are only 4 sets of Tika left! Congrats to everyone who ordered their Rin and Tika!!

 

samsonthat mirwen is so cute ^^, her eyes and faceup really stood out to me, and with hiding her shoulder joint she looks so realistic. mirwen is attacully one of my favorite sculpts
