I'm really curious, I've only seen one so far in my time on DOA, does anyone have a Rix, male or female, that they can spam a little for me?

Lol that title. XD I do like tan Mirwen boys. It was the perfect sculpt to personafy...that's not a word...my hubby. I still need to take photos x__x but he doesn't even have a wig and I have a crappy camera. XD I'll just link to pretty photos of him that weren't taken by me instead, at least until I take some of my own. Ugh. x__x Isis doesn't have a wig either. XD At least both of their face ups are done. I think a bald photoshoot is in order. Wow, I just totally rambled. I guess I get excited.

Thank you! Both Olli (Chloe) and Lien (Marcia) really were brought to full realization by their face up artists (Bake_Neko and maigune, respectivly) and I'm very happy with how they turned out.

 

Siiiigh. I'm a little bit disappointed guys. I love my tan Mirwen boy don't get me wrong but there's issues.

He came to me with a wobbly head. Just like I was mentioning about my VE Chloe he has the same issue. I thought my VE Chloe had it just due to age and resin wear over time but he has the exact same problem. I know it's an easy fix but I shouldn't have to be fixing issues especially with how much money I've spent. That and the hot glue fix will have to be replaced every so often since hot glue doesn't stay put when being rubbed around. I guess they don't see it as an issue though. I'm not expecting a replacement or anything, but I'm going to ask them why this happens.

Then there's the stringing. He was strung so tight I couldn't do anything with him he just kept snapping and kicking etc.. My other dolls came tightly strung but he was even tighter than them (the amount of string for the legs was ridiculous, why do they do this? Surely they must hurt themselves!). So, gonna have to restring.

One of his hand wrist parts doesn't keep hands on firmly so they come off easily but that's not too big of a deal since it's fairly common. And that extra piece above the top of his leg is really lose so his legs just spin around (not the cup bit, I mean the thicker part around the top with the tab on).

I just really hope I'll be happier once I've restrung him. I think the kickyness annoyed me the most but hearing his head all rattling and wobbling frustrated me too. Does anyone else who has a Mirwen boy in tan have this wobblyhead issue? It's basically the head moves around the key part so it has a bit of a wobble and a rattle to it.

 

I have a Rix! His name is Zephyr and I modded his sleeping face open so he has a sister named Prism. (my Karsh stole the wig from her, lol)

Okay so after my initial annoyance I think he seems all right now. I fixed his head problem and loose hand with hotglue and restrung him with longer string . He still seems kicky and his head snaps around as well as his chest, so maybe I need to do it looser but it's no where near as bad as before. The leg parts at the top being loose I think I can deal with also. If it becomes a problem I think a bit of hot glue to tighten the piece onto it will help again.

I think I'm also just used to how easy the girls are. Their joints just slot together and move with ease and only kick about if they're too tight. My boy likes to pop his chest to the side (I know this is a common issue) or to the back, and his hip joint isn't as well fitted as the girls either. But I'll live! He stands now and I'm going to hot glue suede him in hopes it'll improve the rest of the minor niggles I have with the body.

At least the tan resin turned out lovely! I was worried I was going to have LOADS of light sanded bits, horrible seams and green bits. XD It really is very nice.

Rinoa, my Rena heads wobble like that on my M-line body. I'm not entirely sure but I think the neck pieces might be smaller than they used to be? It doesn't bother me too much since no one will hear that in my pictures. :P But it's just weird for sure!

 

Erratic Rhapsody: Your Isis is gorgeous!! I'm on the fence about getting Djedefre a straight across wig because I like this fur wig on him. But I did make a wig for his mother, Neferure, that is more 'traditional' looking. It took a long time, so I don't know if I want to make another one or not.

I debated for so long on getting a tan chloe or celine.... I SHOULD HAVE PURCHASED BOTH.

It's not the neck piece though. ;.; Cause my other heads fit on the same neck piece fine so it's something to do with the head I think. It's not that I think it ruins his look it's just annoying picking him up and hearing his head rattle like his eyes have fallen out or something. It's fixed now though! If it was the neck piece I wouldn't mind too much cause I could maybe get another one (though getting one in tan would be hard...) but when it's the head it's more difficult. And I wouldn't expect Fairyland to replace it because really it's such a minor thing demanding they cast another head for me which could have the same issue isn't fair cause it'd cost more for them than me just putting a bit of hotglue on. I was just a bit disappointed in some of the flaws since I waited so long and was excited. It could be all Mirwen heads do that so when I get my NS head in I'll try and see if it's wobbly too. :P

I don't have many clothes or a wig for him yet, gah! I'm going try getting my four Minifees in a group shot but I don't want him to be bald/half naked. x_x All faceupless though until I commission someone/do them myself.

hmm... I wonder if it's something to do with the mold maybe? I would expect it to be tight if the mold shrank or something [at least in the way my mind is understanding mold shrinkage XD]...but maybe the resin is just thinner so there is more room around the neck piece now? I hope this is fixed in the future when I order my first couple minifees. I get paranoid about things being loose... that would probably annoy me to no end XD

We're waiting on our newest dolly - A Nanuri 2014! I'm so excited to get her! Hopefully by Christmas but if not at least by New Years!

 

My ws Mirwen is due any day now, as soon as she gets here I'll check and see if she's wobbly.

I just love Berlin, she's so gorgeous! Can't wait to see what you do with your Nanuri. I have one coming too and I have no plans for her yet!

 

i just checked my ns mirwen and her head doesnt wobble at all. ( her body is really kicky but that's another issue altogether!)

Yeah they look really versatile! It is actually driving me nuts that I there is only one angle shot, Im trying to gauge what things might fit in them. But wouldn't you like a pair in reddish brown "leather" with brass buttons and another pair in black with silver buttons and a white pair with black buttons .....

I know FL has enough on it's plate as is but with their magnetic hands the possibilities for more hand options that people would actually dish out money for is probably endless.
Also FYI FL released a bunch more pictures of gifts.

If I decide not to order something or can't get everything I know what I'm going to hunt down on the market place later.... the quiver I think I could pass on if worse came to worse; the bow however looks like it has lots of potential. New head sculpts are nice but the little props get me so much more excited.especially elf related ones!

Edit: which actually reminds me of a question... I wonder how many gifts form any given event actually exist in the world... I never see any of the sword and shields around, who ever has them never spams them.

 

Oh my gosh!! I was just looking for Souldoll NL and MNF hybrids!! I want to put my Rena on a Souldoll NL body, since she's supposed to be my tall paladin.
How is her posing compared to a MNF? I know it won't be as good but as long as it's passable, I'm game! She looks amazing!

I just tried my a-line mirwen head on my m-line body and there's no noise or wobble. Neither with my Celine (who came on the m-line body).

 

I have a new SoulDoll head on last year's FL F60 body. New SD is really pink and sort of creamier/opaque/paler than the FL. The body (which I kept in a box so it would have barely yellowed) is a lot more yellow and sort of shinier looking. It's also darker. I don't mind it so much and will hopefully get the head blushed so it matches more.

Also I haven't had a minifee but I had an SK in 2010 and the posing was not great. I had to suede heaps and sand down one edge of the chest part, otherwise she kept dipping to the side. The breasts are like two huge lumps of clay just stuck on (think Pamela Anderson.) The shins are really sharp and thin, too. If the minifee body is like the F60, FL is waaaaaay better for poseability and aesthetics.

I'm looking for a black leather jacket (biker/punk style) for my Minifee. The one from Nine9style is all sold out. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I looked at Alice Collection but I'm worried that the MSD size will be to big for Minifee? Anyone have experience with buying a leather jacket for their dolls? Please? Thanks!!

I'm glad you could fix some of the issues. I don't know about the hands part, but my Mirwen boy doesn't have the head wobble, neither does my Woosoo. However, my boy does seem very tightly strung and is a little kicky with the weird chest thing. I feel like he's kind of normal for a boy doll lol. I sold my last boy because he annoyed the hell out of me. Of course, my Mirwen boy is going to stay no matter what because he is a sexy, doll beast. lmao. The girls are so much easier, and in my opinion the ones with model legs are even easier. That's just me, though.

She's super cute, I really llove that wig on her.

Oh my gosh! She's so pretty. I love how you added the gold and did the hair and just...that's awesome. Haha he can just be like, "I'm wearing my hair like this. :P Psh." lol The fur wig looks nice and there's always time to get the straight across. If it wasn't for Eludys putting Isis in that wig I wouldn't have even thought about it. :3

Oh gosh. I thought about a tan chloe or celine too, and after seeing everyone elses' I wish I could've gotten one or the other. They are so pretty! I agree. Of course, I'm happy with my Mirwen boy and Woosoo. XD And ya never know they might do a tan release again next year. :3

 

With my issue I think it is the neckpiece. My Marcia wobbles on the head too so I think the key is smaller than normal, but only certain molds wobble on it. Meh I fixed it and I'm much happier now, though I think I need to loosen him a bit more. I'm not going to sell him though because he's gorgeous. I just need to get him more clothes and a faceup. Gonna suede him since I've been told that really helps with the boys as well.

Was gonna try and get photos today but had Christmas food shopping, then going round to a friends place tomorrow. It's always so hectic this time of year!

 

Rinoa, you are going to hot glue suede him or use cloth? Just curious. I have a doll to suede over break.

BotflyBaby, Mao is just AWESOME! He's got the perfect amount of attitude that you know is just hiding tenderness underneath.

Sharing a pic of my Ante in ts. She's got a wig coming in later this week, so she's hiding her baldness under a hat. I almost sold this girl, but decided a wig and eye change were probably what she needed to make her personality come alive for me.

I'm using hotglue. It's much easier for me and easy to remove if I mess up. Only thing is I burn my fingers sometimes, but that's just me being dumb. XD
