Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 35

I have had the same issue with my Chloe. I had a Ryeon before that, but she wasn't an issue to paint. I managed to solve the problem by using non-acetone nail remover and just wash the head with water and properly let it dry. When I applied the MSC it's better to go with a little and just build it up. Have a decent amount of space between the head and the MSC can and just spray a little to lightly coat every side of the head, then let it rest and apply a couple more coats and you should be able to start painting Just remember: A little goes a long way! Hehe

Des is truly a pretty mold!!! I'm contemplating on getting one too!!! Maybe one in tan skin o3o that would be cool. But I second the request for Des pictures!!!

 

I am getting a MNF Karsh girl on the M-line body in Tan. I have also ordered the sleeping head, the A-line magnetic feet and 2 extra pairs of hands for her. I am very excited about it actually. I know who I am getting to do the face-up and I have already spoken to the artist. I am even making clothes for her ready for when she gets home!

So I am only about $50 off qualifying for the MNF Juri head. The think with the Juri's some of them I have really liked a lot, and others have actually scared me! I have a doll phobia which is weird I know, but most BJDs are fine. That is the main reason I am interested in photo's actually. Since I know I could either love her or be terrified of her.

It's ironic that she adores winter clothes when I live in Florida and lately it's been over 90 degrees Fahrenheit .-.

Do we know when the m-line will be up for purchase again? I missed ordering a tan Ryeon on the Moe body by two days, I took TWO DAYS too long contemplating whether I should get her or not. Grr. So yea, does anyone know if we have an estimation on if the m-line will be reintroduced before the tan skin is gone? Curse my ability to take time to decide if I can afford to throw $400 in fairyland's ungrateful bank account. >>

Also, will the event heads run out or will they definitely be available through the entire event period?

I have just seen your girl on tumblr actually and thought she was really cute. It is hot in the UK too, and I have my Ki (MNF Chloe) in a rain coat and woolly strawberry bobble hat! Luckily the dolls don't feel the weather like we do!

Sadly no one knows when the M-lines are coming back. It is why a lot of us bought them while we could, there has been talk that the same thing happened to the Chic-line a little while ago but they have not bought them back since, so people have not been hopeful about the M-lines.

I have no idea about the event question since I have never got an event before.

LOL nice! It is good they don't feel the weather. My DM Sona wears a long thick black gown. She would just melt in this heat. So...you have a MNF raincoat? o.o That sounds adorable!

 

I see that is a shame, although I tend to post all my doll pictures on tumblr any way. I quite like it there. Lol, yes I think she would melt if she was a real person. I do think sometimes it can be cute to dress them for the whether to add themes for photo's but sometimes you just want to dress your doll in something because you think it is adorable.

Yes, I have a MNF rain coat! I thought it would be cute as well, it is why I bought it. The only down side is the seller I got it off was not that great to deal with and I bought a pair of shorts of them that didn't show and I had to put in an ebay claim because they were trying all sorts. It is a shame since they had some really cute things!

Ah, I'm sorry about the mishaps with the seller ;c It's unfortunate but that kind of thing does happen. That's a really cute raincoat though, wow! Also, I wanted to say this a while ago when I saw her but never did for some reason, I absolutely love the look of your black haired girl. Her hair, eyes, and the makeup around her eyes all look so amazing. I really like her

 

I know these things happen, and most of the time I just move on and not deal with them again. It is just that bit more confusing because the rain coat came no problem (I ordered roughly the same time of ebay and didn't realise they were the same seller) and their clothes are so cute! Oh well at least the coat did come. I do really like it.

I am happy you like her, she is called Ico. It is OK about not saying sometimes this thread goes so fast and you see lots of lovely dolls but can't comment on all of them. I love a lot of the dolls in this thread too!

Yeah she's my very first BJD I'm so exited. I've been trying to get one for years and I finally have the ability to get her. I'm just guessing it wouldn't be till December since I've ordered her through DDE and having her shipped to my warehouse on the US side of the border then driving down to the states to pick her up and bring into canada. It's cheaper but take a little longer.

 

Fairyland hasn't announced a release date for the M-line yet, and doubt that it will be available before the end of the tan skin event since we're only a little more then a month off.

Im kind of in the same boat.. I had placed a layaway with denverdoll on June 13th, and when I emailed them a couple days ago asking when I'd make my payment, I got an email back saying "the order fell through the cracks". I'm still heartbroken. I should have emailed them sooner to make sure that they really got my order instead of blindly believing that nothing would go wrong after receiving the order confirmation email. Fingers crossed fairyland brings it back!

 

That's the problem with DDE - they're great when everything goes right but when things start going sideways they really, really suck I've been shipped a doll in the wrong color before and getting them to help me make it right was pulling teeth, and the company refused to deal with me directly because I had bought through DDE so I couldn't fix it on my own

I am happy you think she is unique. She is based off my D&D character so she means a lot to me! I lurk a lot of the time too, well when I am not talking to people. I do enjoy seeing everyone's dolls. It is why I like tumblr also because I get to see dolls there too. I love seeing what people do with them.

I see, well if you have waited so long then a little more shouldn't be too bad! Congrats on ordering your first BJD that is very specail. I am sure she will make you very happy when you get her, especailly since you have saved for so long.

I have a question, since I didn't order a faceup on my doll. Does that mean she will not come with a face protector and I will need to order one in?

 

Did you order from FL or DDE? I ordered my Celine from FL with a faceup and she came with a face protector.

Edit: I just realized that you said 'didn't' not 'did'. If a doll doesn't have a faceup/eyelashes then most likely no face protector will come.

 

No face-up = no lashes = no face protector~ At least for my Karsh and Celine, neither had face-ups nor protectors 8(

This is why I will only deal with DDE if they have the item in stock. I didn't have a super-great experience ordering with them before. I asked how long it would take to get an order from Fairyland and they said 10-12 weeks. According to the waiting room, the wait directly from Fairyland is about 8 weeks. I'd rather get it straight from the company if it gets to me faster. Plus I'm a little aggravated that they don't seem to update certain sections of their website. I try to buy stuff that they say they have online and I'm told it's out of stock. Plus, they are now no longer a brick-and-morter store- you can't browse anymore. They have a small area with a counter and if you want to see anything you have to ask for it. Lame.

Question: What size wig fits Chloe best? 6-7 or 7-8? Thanks!

 

Mine always wears a 6-7" they can occasionally be a tiny bit snug (my FMD wig is a little bit tight) and she swims in 7-8" unless you have a wig cap.

 

Ebony- it really depends on where you're buying and personal preference. Both fit, but 7-8 can be a bit more slidey (though fuller and longer) whereas 6-7 might require a bit of stretching and will look a bit less full and slightly shorter (since its yoSD/Unoa sized) but it will stay on no problem. However i will say with 6-7 you may have to give them a pull to stretch them slitly before putting on. i had a Monique Roxie wig in that size that would not fit anyone but my Ryeon. I didn't bother to stretch it out but if I did it probably would have fit my Chloe better. The wig wasn't for her though and I wanted the next size up for my Ryeon since it didn't look full enough fork the size.

If you're buying from Leeke I would recommend 6-6.5 since 7-8 can be hit or miss and possibly too big. From what I've heard! (even though I have a 7-8 art wig from them that I love and it fits).

Anthro - my girl didn't swim in 7-8 at all. I really think its all personal preference though rather than "x /y size doesn't fit!" so it's hard to give advice that will fit everyone.

I was planning on ForMyDoll for my Chloe, so 6-7 in their size is a bit snug but 7-8 is too big? ~

 

I probably should have worded it differently, the 7-8's I've tried (from Dollzone and Kemper dolls) have slid off my Chloe at the drop of a hat (or small gust of wind) and I do tend to prefer my wigs to fit very snugly

In the style I got (a Stay with Me) a 7-8" might look too full IMHO, the 6-7" does fit, you just have to stretch it a little bit the first few times you put it on.

but if you do want the wig to be nice and long though you might want to go 7-8" for the length (possibly with a wig cap if needed) I only have the one 6/7" wig from FMD so I don't know for sure about the fit.



On another note I just added a Minifee Miyu (for my little sister) to my order so I'll be getting the 3 event heads, now I really can't wait for pictures!

 

Well, all this talk of MNF DES has made me want to get one in tan before the tan ordering period ends. She'd probably be better for my character Jesmal than Rheia, and it would save me having to get the elf ear mods. The only thing is I really do want a Rheia, and I just don't know what to do with her.... Why do I sense a new OC coming on?

Oh, nice! And I actually agree you. In the beginning, I really didn't like acrylics at all. But I think I never even tried to get to know them. I've got multiple pairs of eyes now that I love that are acrylics :3 And your girl's are just so pretty! No more acrylic hate for me, lol.

 

Well like everything you really need to do your homework with acrylics cause the terrible/cheap ones really do look terrible! TriskelFantasy in the Netherlands still caries a bunch of the Glib ones I love. I'm not overly impressed with the new Glib "mystic" line, which makes me so glad I bought the ones I did from DDE and sad I didn't buy more when I still could! I keep doing marketplace searches, they turn up every so often.

I just love them, they look very real and totally different in different lighting. I actually laughed the other day cause my dad's hazel-y eyes where the exact same color as my Shushu's grey ones.

 

Elcia: How stunning those eyes look in her! (She has a lovely faceup, too.) And yeah, I like how realistic they look. They look like they have a lot depth. And realistic eyes going really well with Minifee's, in my opionion.

Yeah, I find it really is all personal preference! I've tried both sizes and there's pros and cons to each. That's why I say there's no definite size one mold HAS to wear (at least with Minifees I've noticed).

ETA: Gah FL! Why can't they have the photos ready for the event. I haven't added them yet because I don't know which skintone to get for each head, but I don't want my order postponed until near the end of the event.

 

Fairyland does a lovely job with face-ups. Even when I don't like a doll's faceup style I can't deny they are very well done.
I agree, and that's why I love the company. Just the right balance of realism and stylization for my tastes. I would at any given moment re-buy both my DES and Shushu.

 

Okay, you do have to add a $1 item to your cart to add the event items. Cause the minimum order is $1. Unless it's possible to contact them to add them manually? But I'm guessing not.

 

I'm so sorry to hear that! My previous transactions with them were always pleasant... There's only been one bump in the road and they quickly took care of their mistake... However seeing as there's a chance that the m-line won't be available in the future... I'm pretty heartbroken... Especially since I've been buying really cute things here and there for her and planning out a backstory... I'm not angry, I understand that these things happen... I'm just really disappointed.

yep you've got to add an item, the face-up protectors are $1-2 so they work well

 

i tried but they said you have to place another order with a $1+ item in it and use combine shipping.

News update: adding event head/faceplate to your outside event period order will increase your processing time by 20+ days.

 

What I want to know is...can I add the Juri head to a previous order (with another item) AND add the same Juri head to an entirely different order that will be placed later on? I asked them this question (a little bit differently) and they responded with "Yes you can combine two orders."
That's not even what I asked.

Thanks for letting us know that CP is on a trip, now I won't have to anxiously check FL for pictures every few hours lol. I'm not participating in the event, I didn't need the little fee face plate. I want as little delay as possible on my Chloe!

 

I don't see why you couldn't. This is my first time with their event heads but my understanding of the rule is that the event heads are per order based not per person. You should be able to place as many orders as you want to get as many of the event head you want. If your previous order qualifies for MNF Juri, that's one. If you place another order and it also qualifies, that's two. Place another order and that's three. You'd get three MNF Juri or whatever head you're trying for and so on and so on. I'm thinking of making another order to get another MNF Juri so I can have twins.

Like I said, though, this is my first time to get an event head so I may be way off base on what they allow and what they might see as cheating the system. >_>

 

I believe it's one per order not person. So you can't get two Minifee Juris in one order, but if you're ordering again later you can get another in that order. I'm not 100% sure though!

 

Why FL, why? I'm tempted to settle for the LTF head but I'm so afraid I will regret it, I need pics now! For the MNF head I need to spend $180 more dollars and the only other doll that I really wanted was a tan PukiPuki Lily but they're not offering tan on the PukiPuki idk what to do.

 

I too think that yes you can get two Juri heads with two different order numbers. I once got two Breakaway scar heads and arms that way. That was back when the Real Pukis came out.

If you think about it making it one head per order is much much easier for Fairyland to handle than one head per person. If it was one head per person they would have to check every order with event items to see if the same person had another order. That would just be too much work.

I did end up adding enough extra stuff to qualify for all three event heads, and I know that it will make the processing time more... But! The extra items that I added were wigs and clothes, so I have vague hopes that it doesn't affect my processing time too much.

...and even if it does? It's not like I wasn't prepared to settle in for a REALLY long wait for my tan dolls anyway.

 

I'm really curious about those magnetic ankle feetsies. Wether they hold up or not o.o I do agree about the Juri's. Some were very pretty and others a little scary. And it's not weird You're fine! I'm looking forward to the pictures myself!!! Hope she's a darling little elf.

I do agree. I think it's quite silly that they failed to provide the pictures for each individual heads... I hope they don't post at the end of the event what types of heads they wil be and how they'll look like and all.

 

Is that also for previous DDE orders that are still processing (that didnt need add-ons to reach the amount for an event head ), or for orders where new items needed to be be added on for it? Or both?

 

I decided not to get the Juri head. I'm very picky about my dolls and can't make a decision on the matter without pictures. Plus, I don't want to add an extra 20 days to my wait time. I want my girl home asap. It makes me wonder how many people have put their orders on hold and if that means that those of us who didn't will see their dolls sooner.

 

If they're like the chicline feet at all i'm not worried, i have no problem with mine staying on.
There's like an extra bit of resin inside, that you fit in first, and then the magnet clicks.

 

I read it as being any order that has had the faceplate added to it as I guess they need to allow extra time to make those faceplates. But seeing as the time it takes them to post out orders can be rather hit and miss anyway...!

 

That is exactly what I am wondering right now...

I am gonna pass on the event, because I just qualify for the LTF head and I am not a fan of other sizes.

I just hope that the change of the legs that I made don't affect that much my waiting time.

 

That's the same reason I decided to let Juri go(and since i have my favourite juri already), now I just hope that my order will be send soon^^
I think alot of people have chosen to put the order on hold for the juri event.

 

I just asked something similar - My original order contains two pukifee and a minifee and extras - each order is more than enough to qualify for the minifee and littlefee heads. I'd like to avoid the hassle of adding an extra $100 to my expenses just to get the FeePle60 head that I have no use for. And I wouldn't mind adding the heads to my cart now rather than waiting until photos are released. So my question was basically - "Can I treat my original order as two separate orders and add both LTF and MNF faces to my order? I can't cancel my order because I have an m-line but if I'd have to remove the pukifee's it wouldn't be too bad beyond having to wait an extra 60 days
