I didn't pay any attention to anyone, but it seemed as if people didn't even notice me. So if you're worried, try not to think about it ^_^

Erratic Rhapsody - Well, I now have a tan Karsh on my wishlist

I thought I was safe from the tan skin but the more I think about it the more I want a Luka in tan skin on the Moe body. And then the more I think about it, the more I'm creating characters. I keep telling myself I don't need any more dolls right now. But it's there, nagging at the back of my head. Then again there's my Chloe I'm waiting on giving me a list of what her wardrobe should be when she arrives. Haha.

Oh! I did not realize I had the tan selected on the MNF page and not on the others. I was confused because there was no charge for selecting the tan color, but then when I would pick a head, there was a $30 charge added to the total.

For the first time ever I found myself wanting a Karsh OH NO. I've wanted a boy for a while but usually FL's boy sculpts just don't appeal to me that much. But ugh the tan Karsh. /slow dying noises/

Yes, that is correct. I want the M-line body and I am going to go for the Karsh I think. I have found someone who is will to swap bust with me so I can even get the cutie bust. Since the tan is light I am going to get her in the tan skin too since I think that would look nice. Although I am shopping around for some brown eyes, and I want a red wig for her. I am not sure what type of wig yet. Her hair is a bit longer then her shoulders/part way down her back. So it will probably be either a long fur wig or a short-ish synthetic wig.

The only down side is when I get her 4 out of 8 of my dolls with be red heads! So I think that is a little bit of a bias!

Oh Lawd!!! Kind of makes me wish I had ordered 2 of them now!!! One with the factory faceup and one without!!! She's so puuuurrrrrrdyyyy!!!!

 

Even if the new tan isn't as deep as the old minifee tan (which was lighter than the Delf tan, at least until the dolls started yellowing, which gave it a deeper tone), as long as it isn't as pinkish-tan as the chocopukis were (which actually weren't that dark of a tan over time - just very *pink*. (I've linked to my pic of my two chocopukis, since they're OT for this thread--)

The MNF Lishe I got secondhand is a deeper tan with yellow/bronze undertones. But the MNF El I got secondhand about 2008, has always had a pinkish or dusky tone to his tan:

He hasn't yellowed or changed much over the intervening years here.

She’s on a B-line body for the moment, but she’ll beupgraded to an A-Line soon enough (one with a smaller bust and modellegs). For now though, she’s just tryingto figure out why her wig is so impossible to tame down. >>

 

The Moe-Line bodies haven't shipped yet, at least not from what I've heard? Also she'd be noticeably shorter if she was on the Moe line, since it's 38cm and not 41cm in height. (over an inch shorter).

Siean looks great! I have to sand the neck hole in mine it doesn't fit on the girl bodies I have.

 

I am obsessed with the thought of getting a tan MNF Mirwen and turning her into a fawn girl. I`m glad they are offering the tan skin until the end of August so I can get the money together. I love my MNF Chloe and would love to get her a friend. I love planning for incoming dolls. It`s the best part for me

I am really excited too, I think she will end up looking pretty different since she does have facial tattoo's! I mainly think it is funny that 1/2 my dolls will be red haired. Although I do like the idea of my collection to be varied at the same time, so I think I will make sure any random none character dolls I get in the future won't be red haired.

 

Oooh are they white facial tatoos? I'm not sure why white came to mind. I like trying to have a varied doll bunch too. Even though most of them have short hair. xD I need long hair! lol If it weren't for elf siblings and that I already have a female Karsh I would've jumped on a tan Karsh. lol Time to decide on which girl I want in tan. Darn Woosoo popping up.

 

They are black tattoo's. I would post a drawing however she is nude and there is blood in the background. Lol. So it is probably NSFW... I will probably re-draw her before I get the doll since the drawing is very old since it was a few years ago when I was role-playing as her. She was actually the character I drew my tarot deck for.

I am the opposite most of my dolls have long hair. At least you have a little bit more time to decide what girl is best for you.

That is cool, I will probably want to re-draw since the lines are pretty thick so I will want to redraw something that I can use as a reference for a face-up artist, since I don't have the skill to do that myself. I will try and remember to send you the picture over PM so you can see. Most of my role-play characters do get drawn, I always have even before I got into the doll hobby. In part how I have drawn them has helped to pick which dolls to get. My very first doll was a role-play character of mine.

Yes, Ico (my MNF Shushu) is my current Role-play character and she is my Tuesday night D&D game. It was actually the idea of having my role-playing characters as dolls that got me into this hobby. I have not played Xyphos in a while though, since the game stopped. I still like the character though.

I see that is pretty cool, I think choosing what character the doll is going to be will make the choice easier because it is thinking about which would suit. Either from drawing or what you imagine the character to be like.

 

Ooh I can't wait to see! Isn't it wonderful to be able to draw a reference for faceups? Haha. I wish I were better, but that's why I practice faceups. Hopefully one day I will be awesome. lol That's so exciting! My first doll wasn't a rp character, but just like you mentioned I got into the hobby because I wanted to make my rp characters into dolls. So cool!!!

And...you just got even more amazing. My second doll was supposed to be my D&D character, Ari'at. But...she was a Feeple 65 and Juri 2012 event head. She was waaaaaaaay too big for me so I sold the body in hopes to get a 60 body. And then just realized...I will probably have this floating head forever. So, I'm either going to just not have her in doll form oooooor make her a MNF. lol I miss D&D I haven't played since I moved. What version did you play? ;D

She's a fairly new rp character. ...I mentioned i hadn't rp'd in a while...I guess I have since I roleplay with my BFFFFFFFFF still, but she's the only one since...a year. XD Isis is loosely based off two characters. The one I used to LARP with and another D&D character. She is part Egyptian, so tan skin will work awesomely. I just don't know which lips/face structure will work best. Rheia has slight bedroom eyes, but Woosoo definitely has them. Hmm...

I can't normally draw face-up references because I suck at make-up. However tattoo's are different. I think personally I would get frustrated with face-ups because I have very set idea's however two friends who are very talented face-up artists. So it is easier to pay them. It is cool we got into the hobby for the same reason though. It is nice to find out other things you have in common with other hobbyists. I also used to LARP but I have never put any of my LARP characters in dolly form.

I am playing 4e, to be honest I prefer it. I have played others however I have never really liked any of the characters enough to make them into a BJD. I am still playing 4e with Ico. The cool thing is all my MNFs will be a role-play character.

You character idea sounds really cool actually, I do have a bias towards Rheia but that is my own preferences talking.

I'm still debating between a tan Rheia and a tan Mirwen boy. e|: I'm already getting a Mirwen girl and I don't want to keep making twins, but I want a boy and a tan Mirwen boy on a muscular body would be so perfect. ;~; But then I can imagine a tan Rheia looking all sassy.

Though since I'll be modding the Mirwen girls brow maybe she can look different so they don't look like twins? Maybe I could say they're distant cousins... I'm trying to convince myself. D:

 

Haha I like variety so...if you already have twins or a Mirwen maybe a Rheia would be a nice addition? Or get rid of the NS Mirwen and get the tan instead? I know it would drive me nuts to have the same sculpt but in different resin color.

 

I normally try and get a whole bunch of photo's for a reference and do a "mood board" when commissioning a face-up artist, I will probably be doing that along with the picture of the tattoo's. I hope she will end up looking OK, facial tattoo's are very brave for me. I have heard that the UK LARP is different too, although I am not currently doing it. I am looking into a new group though.

I am not really am MMO fan, however I find you can do some really interesting things with 4th. A lot of my characters wouldn't be possible with other editions. Plus Ico is Eladrin which are only really in 4e, it is why she has the solid eyes.

At least you have narrowed it down to two. I know a whole bunch of people talking about how they just don't know what FL dolls they want in tan. Plus are sad that the event is happening at the same time as some of FLs other tan skin dolls because they want both.

Nah see I really want a NS Mirwen girl as well... it's a conundrum! I was toying about whether to just get Mirwen as a boy or a girl but could never decide. Then I decided on a girl but when tan came out I had the problem all over again, because I can just picture how he'd look in my mind and he looks awesome. XD

I don't have any Minifee twins, but I have my Littlefee Nanuri twins in NS and BW (when the BW one arrives! and I get them bodies...), and I also have two Volks old F-08s in NS and WS. The Littlefees have a backstory I'm working on though whereas the F-08s I never really thought about a story, I just loved the sculpt enough to get it in both skintones. XD It's not so much having the same sculpt in a different colour that bothers me, I just don't want to be seen as "that person that always has twins!"

I do tend to gravitate to girl dolls more though, and the only reason I didn't get Rheia before was because she had features similar to Chloe (and I'm already getting a Celine), but if she's in tan that wouldn't be much of an issue. :P

Maybe I should just sell a kidney and get them both! XD Problem solved!

 

Rinoa I completely understand your dilemma. I think it would work with a Mirwin girl with sanded brows in ns and a not sanded boy in tan. I don't think they even have to be related because you know we all have a look alike somewhere. On the other hand a tan Rheia would be awsome.

I wish I could get two tan Mirwins - a boy and a girl and a tan Rheia and a tan Karsh girl. I'd have to win the lottery to make that happen though. At the moment it looks like I'll be lucky if I can get one. (Since I'm also getting a LTF and two PKFs)

I am from the UK also. I personally prefer to go direct with FL since any were outside Europe has the risk of import taxes and the shipping is about the same any way, so there is no benefit from getting from DDE if you are in the UK since they are in the US. The last time I ordered from FL the shipping was $42 however that was last July. I know Think Pink is in the EU, however dealers tend to allow for the fact that they could be hit with import taxes too. Also the issue with a dealer is that you will be waiting longer for the doll.

I'm loving the idea of reshelling Zevran into a tan Karsh, and making my current NS Shiwoo into Alister....

I just told the Hus about my idea and he said "Shouldn't Alister be bigger? Wait! Scratch that! I didn't think of the implications before I said it!" LOL (he keeps telling me that I shouldn't get so many big dolls)
