Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 33

Monstrodesigns is out for me, because I had a transaction go very wrong (the items were very faulty) and she threatened me over it and she lied to me at many stages. Do you like links to Rikkuliam and Spite and Malice? I have heard that Spite and Malice are pretty good actually. Thanks so much for answering my question.

I see, well I have seen other companies say that, although normally they state that any discolouration/ tends to be near the seem lines. Uneveness (or marbling as I have seen it called) is also a problem with darker resins, it is less likely to be the case with a light tan though it is s till possible. I know a few companies that also say that too. I think companies state that because there is a chance it could happen it is why they don't like doing tan skins and other colours.

I have one tan skin from Angell-studio, I also have a grey skin from Withdoll and a purple skin from Resinsoul. I have only seen RS not issue a warning for usual skin tones.

TrinityInRainbows, Rinoa and anybody else who might have this problem that is very good advice. It is something you have to work on because after all in the long run you shouldn't let people you don't even know decide what you can and cannot do. I know it's easy for me because I'm so old (60 next week) but what really matters are not what other people think of you but what YOU think of you. I believe we are all born with the right to be who we are as long as we don't hurt other people. (Even if some people choose to be offended. That's their problem.)

I officially ordered my M-Line Celine in tan! Here's to hoping that Fairyland does a good job with the tan! I'm so scared of problems that might arise and with all their disclaimers I'm worried that any legitimate problems will be pushed aside. I would rather wait longer for a quality product then have a less than satisfactory experience!

You've been given some fantastic advice so far! My only thing to add at this point is look into meetups. It's less scary when you've got a whole bunch of dolly owners with you! I'm sure there's a group near you somewhere and if you can't find anything on DoA then start a group up!

 

I'm really disappointed. The only minifee that I wanted in tan (Marcia) I can't have. Almost makes me not want to order my pukifee in tan.. Because who knows, maybe i'll go to add it to my cart and they'll tell me that they are temporarily not shipping to Utah. /rant

Sorry that got a little ranty there, I just feel like this event was really disorganized and rushed. I mean, in a business you wouldn't offer a new product that people (if they paid attention to their social media like this forum here) really liked, take it away with no official explanation, mention a product that isn't going to be out yet that is supposed to be paired with the product you're taking away after a limited time (the ani heads), and then offer a new new product and periodically (in an exasperatingly short time after everyone has ordered the first product because they feared to never see it again due to lack of information) reduce/add things to the event to make it frustrating for those attempting to order your new new product. Honestly they should have waited for this. If they're only doing the tan over the summer because of weather related issues that makes sense to me. BUT, they should have waited until next summer so that they could take time to organize their event and release all the stuff to the website all at once, create new molds so that they could offer the B-line heads in Tan, and maybe they could have caught up on enough orders that they could re-offer the M-line in a more permanent way when the Tan was an option as well. *sigh*

 

karla-chan I'm sorry you had problems with them. I have gotten the monstro wigs second hand off the marketplace or on ebay, so I didn't deal directly with the maker. I did have a spite and malice wig that was really nice quality but sold it because it didn't work out. I had the same with the Rikkuliam. I feel the same. I kinda hate myself for even ordering. I don't even want to support this behavior. Like I said above, I'm really scared that there's going to be a lot of issues with the tan - I mean, last time they were overloaded there were issues with the Normal Skin and White Skin. Snowflakes and bubbles are going to show up much worse on tan skin. And I have no doubt that the seam lines on these tan dolls are going to be massive.

I second you Cheebee!!! It is so frustrating, I just won't be ordering from them my tan girl u_u; I'll find another company with tan for her. They should just stop, catch up on orders (maybe hire some new people to help with production times for crying out loud) and fix their scedule =^= I really wanted an M-line in tan but, welp~!

 

Aroura if you read previously or checked the site it is because certain heads are not available in tan. They aren't offering them.

This announcement will explain some more information on this new product.

Tan Skin option is available to A-Line A la Carte, A-Line body, M-Line A la Carte, M-Line body and other body parts.

We regret to announce that B-Line MiniFee will not be available in tan skin.
Also, following 5 heads from A la Carte are excluded from the tan skin option.

- Carl, Marcia, Seorin, Eliya, Ruth

M-Line A la Carte and body will become temporarily sold out from June 30.

A-Line A la Carte and body in tan skin will be available until August 31, same as LittleFee and PukiFee A la Carte products.

I would like to see the tan too. Some companies do a little sanding on the headcap, heels, etc. that can be a little unsightly. Easy to hide but still a smidge cringe worthy.

And can I just say I'm so PO'ed because I was really considering Marcia as my tan girl. I don't want to sound entitled but unless they broke all of their molds right when they're about to release tan then I just don't understand what the problem is...It's like a giant tease with FL these days. So now it's between Rheia and Celine for me with A-line and cutie legs/bust. Luckily my birthday is in 11 days. All I want is $$$

I'm pretty sure they are not offering those sculpts because there could be an issue with the mold or they are a few of the least popular sculpts. By excluding some they are helping to cut down wait times. It sucks for those who want those sculpts but understandable since Fairyland doesn't want tan skin to take 4-5 months.

 

Oh well that settles that then if I can't get a tan Ruth, or a second choice of Seorin then forget the whole thing.

Actually I was going to say cutting the unpopular sculpts out of the equation makes no sense because they are unpopular for a reason people don't buy them much. But then if there is some special process the molds have to go through or if they have to make extra molds because of color residue or something like that then actually it makes perfect sense to not make available more sculpt molds than are actually going to get a lot of use.

Well I guess I'll just enjoy looking at pics when those who order get their dolls and chalk it up to not meant to be.

I hadn't ever planned on getting a Minifee, but now that they're offering tan skin.... /walletsobs
I squealed so loud I freaked out my dogs. I do hope they can get everything together and not have problems with the tan skin, I also hope they later include the remaining five Minifee heads - maybe there's something wrong with the molds for them?

Next year I do believe a tan Chloe and Mirwen boy are in my dollie plans...

This actually helped with people I know who thought my hobby was weird, too. Like my younger sister, she once said I should be ashamed of my doll hobby, so I felt very insecure around her. At some point I decided I wasn't gonna feel ashamed anymore, so I started posting my dolls on Facebook as a statement... and suddenly she started complimenting me with my dolls!! Me being insecure and needing her approval brought out the worst in her apparently. But it works that way for everybody it seems: as long as you're confident about something, nobody will say bad things about it. From my experience anyway.

Apologies if this has been said already, but does anyone notice that the tan skin for Minifees have no additional charge? I find it somewhat peculiar that they charge an additional fee for Pukifees and Littlefees, but none for MNFs. (Or maybe they hadn't put the amount in yet.)

Argh, in a perfect world, tan would either be a yearly/evently thing, or would just cost a whole lot more just to keep as consistent as possible. Then again, in a perfect world, I'd have money Such a shame, a tan Mirwen girl would look so pretty...

 

They do have a $30 extra charge for tan. It says it on the m-lines but I think they just forgot to write it on the a-line. It was pointed out earlier. If you watch your price it will jump up $30 when you add the tan skin

Ah, that's what I had thought. Nearly gave me a heart attack there xD I found it so weird why none of the A-Lines had (Add +*insertnumber) right next to Tan in the drop down box for skin color.

 

im kinda bummed out with this tan. car broke down and ate all my dolly funds so there's no way i'll be able to get one. and i really wanted a moe body because i didn't like my old minifee's a-line hip joint. mostly likely would of got a b-line marica or woosoo before the sale ended if they offered it... im going to be upset if this is the only time FL releases tan. maybe because of the recast issues it'll encourage fairyland to offer more skintones in the future....

 

I really like the M-Line body and would love to get it in tan but I've heard so many bad things about Fairyland's resin quality and overall quality recently.

Is it right to be afraid to order from them, because I really am.

Honestly I'm not too worried about the quality of resin coming from FL. I've ordered..... 7 dolls from them, some during very busy events and I've not had problems with any of them. The fact that they're stating orders may take a bit longer to ship out is telling me that they're not rushing production just to get dolls out the door. But maybe I'm optimistic?

It's true that it doesn't seem like they really know what they're doing on the business side of things, announcing items, taking them away, bringing out new ones etc... but I don't know if the same people making the decisions are the same ones making the dolls. So I'll keep my hopes up and trust them to keep making the same beautiful dolls they always have

 

I am bit too. I've heard some really bad thing about their quality a few days ago. But I got chiclines in their last preorders and they were fine. Minor things with the hands, that's all. My 3 feeples were flawless.
but with the Moe body that they plan or removing from sale and limited tan, they will probably get a LOT of orders and that might play on the quality the dolls since they might rush things :/
edit: didn't see that they said orders might take longer. Not too worried if they don't rush

 

I wish there were some firm details on whether or not they were being discontinued totally or whether they'd be released again after this set of orders. I mean logically why go to the trouble of designing a new body just to sell it for a few months and then that's it?

 

I have a... large number of Fairyland dolls (I'm kind of afraid to count, lol) and I've frequently ordered during events - damn Fairyland and all their free heads/arms/chest pieces! - and I have never had a problem with the quality of their resin. I also have a doll in the tan they are releasing at the moment, and apart from a few sanding marks, there's nothing wrong with him.

Occasionally I've had a few problems with the stringing of a couple of them but that's it.

My two other MNF Lishe girls are looking forward to having another tan sibling... Once I get around to ordering, lol - have to scrape together the money to get all the dolls I want *whistles innocently*

I'm going to chime in and say taking dolls places is really fun! For example, I took a doll along when the Hus and I went to Disneyland for our anniversary last year and it worked out wonderfully - he hates having his picture taken, I love taking pictures and it was a blast posing Hlao-roo in various places around Disneyland (and with Alice and the Mad Hatter!) Link to the pictures b/c he's OT for this thread

The tan isn't the same though, their notes says; ''Please note that this tan skin is different to previously released Chocopuki skin and tan skin MiniFee that were supplied for another company. This MinFee tan skin is a light tan skin, and is identical to LittleFee and PukiFee A la Carte tan skin.''

Re: Not offering those 5 sculpts

I have to say.... I never see Soo, Chiwoo, Ari, regular Woosoo, Kyle, or Rix. The five they're not offering I've actually seen posted in the MNF threads (albeit not very often)... So I don't think it's by popularity. Then again, maybe those sculpts are actually super popular and I just never see them because my only real exposure is this thread and Flickr, but still... You'd think if they had to make new molds for certain faces, the ones I listed would be the ones they would've decided not to offer. Ruth and Carl seem like fairly popular male sculpts, Seorin and Marcia I've seen way more than once in this thread, though I guess I can understand Eliya a bit, because I do rarely see her. Still, I see her more than the other ones I mentioned. Oh well.

And I didn't get my Mirwen switched to tan because apparently she's ready to ship from FL to DDE, and they said they'd have to cancel the first order and make a brand new order and I wouldn't get my Siean head, so I decided to stick with NS Mirwen and just hope I can order a tan skin Celine in time for the event to end, though we'll see. Might have to wait till the next time they offer tan, if they ever do, lol. But I'm suuuuuuper stoked to get my Mirwen soon. ^_^

No problems at all, she's wearing 16mm Ersa Flora acrylics - I can't remember the exact name though - it is probably one of the burst range.

Yes, I know which tan it isn't. I have both the tans - the dark tan which was released through Luts, otherwise known as the "choco-puki tan" and I also have a new tan Chicline, who is the light tan - probably pretty much the same colour as the release shots of the LTF. I have posted this photo or something similar before: this shot is a WS MNF, an NS MNF, a light tan Chicline (the colour I am expecting the new dolls to be in) and the dark tan MNF - the Choco-puki, Luts released tan.

It’s a Jpop/Monique Kanalong in ‘Wintermoon’. ^_^ It was actually supposed to be for my upcoming Ante, but Risma stole it since it matched the rest of her attire so very well.

 

Sooo I normally don't do this but it seems like people are getting a little on edge. TeaPartyRevolution...you said you have a doll in the same tan they are releasing right now, but then you went around and said, "I know which tan it isn't." There really is no way to know if it is the same exact tan as the Chicline tan. In fact let me just post what I found several hours ago:

Thusly, so far until otherwise seen in person, it is in-between the two. And if you all look at the comparison photo TeaParty shared AND at the PukiFee heads without the faceup you can tell it is not as light as the Cline and def not as dark as the Choco-puki. I hope this has cleared up any confusion and people being on edge.

Oh, that's so cool! It's nice to know someone else has taken dolls on vacation. I had my ltf ante with me to Disney before. Last year, I took Jurianna with me to Williamsburg.



Years ago I took Tay to San Fransisco. He was my first experiment with dolls on vacation and after careful preparation (I bought a kind of dolly papoos to carry him in), it went really well.

So.. does anyone know why there is a $30 charge to pick a face in the girl active line a-la-carte? None of the other a-la-cartes charge when you pick the head. So weird.

 

I'm happy I didn't go for Eliya in tan, otherwise I would have been terribly disappointed to see they are not offering her. I would like to know why, it seems so strange since Marcia is a quite popular sculpt around.

I wish Fairyland would show us a naked Minifee (or Littlefee) next to a NS one so we can see the actual shade of the tan. I think it's going to be lighter than I'd like, but I'm ok with it.

May I request some old Luts Minifee tan spam? are there any around? :aheratbea

 

What do you mean they don't? If you want tan skin then it is $30 extra for the MNF, PKF, and LTF. The only bodies/sculpts exempt are the ones listed. If you check several bits back this has been something very popular in topic.

I have settled on buying my Seorin later, and throwing him into a bucket of hot dye like I did my pukifee Luna.

I am trying to decide if I still want a tan mirwen or if I want someone else.... mirwen was planned to be a home dye too, which I still might do, but I don't know

Anyone mock tan all the heads yet?

 

Here's the best mock I could manage in ten minutes with Luka, Karsh, and Celine. The Luka is WS...and I also am not sure if this is close to the tan skin at all. I did get a swatch from the pukifee, but...with the shadows and highlights...no telling what it'll look like....though I am wanting a tan Karsh more than i did before now. lol.

Oh that's very helpful, thanks, i was wondering what it would be like as i loved the darker tan. I just ordered Celine, i should have really waited a bit but it would mean so long with processing time on top that i caved and went ahead!

 

Angeldoll, not sure if you saw my post but the tan should be between the cline tan and chocopuki tan.

 

It's the same as the Littlefee tan so if you go to the LTF A La Carte pages you can see what the tan will look like a little better. Like Erratic Rhapsody said, it's darker than the C-line but not as dark as the choco-puki tone. I am guessing it leans towards a lighter tone though, judging by the photos we've seen.
