Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 32

May 8, 2013

    1. Souldoll white skin is pretty much a spot on match to FL's white skin :)

    2. alogue Yeah? Hmm that might be something to look into then. Poor William needs to be kinda tall n lanky

    3. Kinda of just impulse bought a Celine on a M-line with 4 month layaway through DDE... oops.

The M-line is going to my MNF Soo Audrey.. Who was originally a KDF Aru and more childish.. and Im going to swap her current cutie bust with the full bust Im getting with the M-line.. and putting Celine on the A-line! Everything works out in the end! Im quite excited!

I definitely think Audrey will be much happier on the M-line!

    4. if you're looking for a really skinny body I think Doll Chateau WS is a pretty good match and I had a WS MNF head on a Resinsoul body for a while (the match was very good)

    5. Hey guys, I don't know if we are allowed to link so sales auctions from other sites so I wont, but there is a MNF JURI 2011 head on ebay right now, starting at 9.99. Do you think its real? It looks legit, and the seller has great feedback, but I'm just not sure.

    6. Looks like it's up to $40. It seems legit if it's an auction. People will always start pretty low, but I guarantee it'll end at or above what the going "buy it now" rate is. *shrug*

    7. Aubrey's adorable, Kereneko. I agree that the M-Line body will better fit her. I kinda want just the full bust piece for my girl since it's perfect for her character, but I don't know if Fairyland will ever just sell the different bust sizes separately or even if it will fit on an A-Line big bust stomach piece, so I'm on the fence. Oh well.
Rest of the thread: It looks like the M-Line is still available on the home site, or am I missing something?

    8. Thank you! :D

From what I have read on the site, the M-line and A-line have various compatible pieces, so I definitely feel that the different busts will work between the two of them. Not sure if they will release the full bust separately or introduce it as an A-line option, but maybe someone will be looking to trade in the market! I know personally, the huge bust looks weird on such a smaller childlike body which is why I will be attempting a bust swap myself! Also it looks like fairyland will be selling the M-line till June 30th which is why it is still available on their site :)

    9. Got it! That makes sense and hopefully, they rerelease the M-Line again, but I think they maybe they should work on the butt and other possible bust sizes while the line is "temporarily suspended". I agree on the M-line body bust part too--I don't get that, but that's why hybridizing is a good thing.

    10. For anyone out there with a Celine, someone has made a database for her here. It'd be great to see all of them in one place, so I can get my fix over the next few weeks, lol.

    11. Thanks for the info. ^^ I think you did a really nice job on the hair cut. :]

    12. I thought I'd share my in-progress MNF Chloe sleeping head that I'm modding. I've opened her eyes, but it still needs some work (bevelling the eyewells more, smoothing the rough edges with sandpaper). She's coming along nicely imho.
She's going to have an M-line body in the future :)

    13. Going to be bringing in a Kyle in a couple months. Courtesy of Lyzrd being silly n awesome for letting me take the head choice on her recent order. It will be really nice to see my boy again. I love Miguel. As I reshelled his previous doll form into a very early incarnation of him who is called Suboshi.

      Can't wait x3

    14. I have a question.. Has anyone tried 6-7 Crobidoll wigs on minifees?

    15. GYHM I believe Lyzrd has before on her Chloe :o

    16. Thanks Silvermasques! :)

    17. I have! They seemed to fit well. I had a chloe though and she seems to have the 6-7 size head.

    18. [IMG]

He needs a proper red wig, but well, if Loki wants green hair, Loki can have green hair. The bonus of being a shape shifting god.

My MNF crew really is turning into Norse Mythology: the Hipster AU.

    19. XD Get distracted by an infant and discover my ears a-burnin' when I pop on to DoA!

silvermasques is indeed correct... I currently have a 6-7 Crobidoll wig on Sabine, my Chloe. I would share a photo, if my iPad and photobucket were cooperating with one another.

    20. my girls aren't wearing crobi doll wigs but i have a 6-7 at home and it fits them just fine. unfortunately i am unable to take pictures either.

    21. Lyzrd Hahah I wasn't sure she still had that since you switch them up every so often <3

    22. Oh no, so I realized Celine would make an adorable bunny girl with those little teeth and I found some fluffy soom legs to mod and the m-line is the perfect body for it I think (how did I go from hating it to wanting one) and U__U

      HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN.

I'm not sure if I should go for it at the end of june though? Or hope they bring the m-line back? I'm paying off a layaway for another hybrid (littlefee chloe+soom unitaur body) and I'm still paying off the event thing as well. I mean, with work, I'll have enough to do it but.... at the same time I kinda wanted to get my savings account back up and this would just not... do that. :(

MONEY, WHY DO YOU NOT GROW ON TREES IN MY BACKYARD.

      Dolls are the worst.

edit: not to mention I have a floating head from the event (either Mirwen or Siean who will be sharing a body until I get a second one) Admittedly I am kinda hoping for another event before/on June 30th. I doubt it'll happen though.

    23. I was going to ask what everyone thought the chances of FL having another event before the M-line is "temporarily" suspended There's a handful of things I want, but with shipping so expensive I may as well get it all at once and cute event head while I'm at it

    24. Heh, so true. But Sabine's like Ainsley: firmly settled in her look!

    25. Once upon a time, I really had my eyes locked on a MNF Luka, but he's basically nonexistent in the real world in the sense that I haven't seen many owner pics of him. :(

      - I love your Soo! She is such a rare and overlooked but beautiful sculpt! I think a Soo would be the perfect little sister to my Rena. Their face shapes and eyes have a lot to do with it ^^ They are so similar!

    27. I dunno I feel like Luka is a very popular sculpt, usually done as a girl over a boy though

    28. This thread goes so fast! I love going back to see everything I have missed. <3 Everyone's photos are so wonderful!

    29. Oh man, I love your Rena - she's so cute! :D

    30. i agree FL should do an event like that. I think that thay should do a scar chloe <3

    31. oh man scar chloe? I would be dooooooomed...

    32. Luka spam! Mari is a girl though :sweat

    33. Yeah, I see plenty of Luka pics but I think most owners own females. I know my Luka is a girl, but she doesn't have a body...sooooo...xD

    34. my luka nandi is a girl too

i think the sculpt would probably make a cute boy, but it makes an adorable girl! so agree with erratic rhapsody, you probably just haven't recognized the sculpt since you were looking for boys....

    35. My Celine is here! Meet Morgan! I love her so much, she's so pretty.

    36. A MNF Luka is gorgeous as a boy - I just don't post pics much because I don't tend to get comments. This is Sol.

    37. You should still post photos even if you don't get comments. I don't usually a lot if any. I still think it's nice to see photos or new photos that people take; it can always spark up new conversation or can even help with a question before someone asks. I know just seeing photos helps me out sometimes.

    38. I agree, I do love seeing doll photo's even if you don't seem to get many comments people probably still like them. I like seeing photo's on here but I don't always get chance to comment. I do love seeing the doll spam though. :) So please carry on. :)

    39. Anyone have a photo of Siean next to another minifee? Siean looks like the eyes are placed a bit higher in a longer face to me but not sure without a good comparison.

    40. I agree that it's good to post pictures anyway. I so love to see pictures but I don't comment all that much. This is because I'm cronical ill and often I just don't have the energy and consentration to do so. I also feel I should comment on every single photo because everyone deserves a comment - I just can't. I'm so sorry about that.

Actually on really bad days the pictures I find in my favorit threads (Fairyland MNF, LTF and PKF + Iplehouse JID and KID) helps me a lot to feel happy and to bring a smile to my face. On bad days I don't even read the posts, just look at the pictures.

I really seriously wish I could show everyone posting pictures the appriciation they deserve. These pictures means so much to me. Being part of the community means a lot to me because I sit a lot alone at home so the internet is my window to the world.

Okay back on topic. Here's another picture of Seffia (Chloe) that I took outside yesterday. I love her so much with the new wig and I'm so happy with her dress.

    41. Not to be off-topic as usual, but my Seorin is a girl :)

      Tea Party
, that's the reason why I basically turned into a lurker. But just so you know - I love seeing your dolls. Not to mention that back when the MNF crowd was dominated by a certain party I was basically run out. Much of the time I don't even read the stuff anymore I just sift through the photos and keep going.

    42. Just to throw in my two cents, I also love seeing photos of all different sculpts. It often makes me reconsider sculpts I had previously disliked (MNF Juris were one until customs started showing up here and I fell in love). I comment usually a little more when I have dolls to share myself but even then, I'm so busy that taking the time to comment on every single photo would really suck up a lot of my time.

Getting comments are wonderful but please don't feel bad if people seem to be quiet! This thread moves really fast and it's hard to keep up, let alone comment on everything!

    43. Good point Smotey!
But I agree that it can hurt when people post photos and one or two will receive a slew of compliments/notice and the rest seem ignored.
And I agree about seeing customs - extremely helpful!! I prefer to do my own faceups so it always helps to see the potential. When I first heard/saw about BJDs many years ago I had no clue how customizable they were; I think it's that creative ability that brings so many of us to the hobby in general.
And back to topic - I have a Seorin girl because I fell in love with someone else's at a meetup even though it had the default faceup. I thought "he" made a gorgeous girl doll.

ETA (to post below): silvermasques, I will sometimes post photos regardless as well just because I know that a lot of people lurk for the photos alone. I do it myself. I think the "spam" is the highlight of the discussion threads.

    44. I post my dolls regardless of if they get comments or not. I had a Luka boy, but I sold him recently. I didn't have a body for him

    45. Is it just me or does Celine look a lot like DES? Similar face shape, similar mouth shape especially at an angle where the teeth are not apparent and nearly identical eye shape.... Right? What are your thoughts?

    46. I'm..... not seeing it? I looked up a ton of DES pictures without default faceups but even then, DES has a very pointy face with a big forehead and big eyes and very small lips. Cute but I don't see the match up with Celine. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ryina/7748575788/

IMO, Chloe and Celine are practically twins. http://www.flickr.com/photos/yisaki/8711001158

    47. I agree 100% with SmoteyMote ^^

    48. TeaPartyRevolution, yes please continue to post pics!! I really love your Luka boy and always enjoy seeing him, I just often miss a couple of days to post and comment on everything *_* I was away a lot this weekend. All of your dolls are very unique and fun to see!

    49. I happen to think that company dolls in general look, at the very least, like siblings or even extended family! LOL
I was just over in the Pukifee thread where peeps are posting their Vanillas and, to me, she looks like a cross between the Luna and Ante sculpts (and someone else pointed out she also reminds them of Bonnie). It's true. There is a similarity, which we can chalk up to artist's style. It's like a signature. Let's face it, artists whose work varies greatly are rare. Usually we know an artist by their work because it's similar to their other work. In the case of company dolls - the all look related! :)

    50. Well said it is how I feel. I have had my mind changed about dolls by seeing them. You can really see a new love for a doll when you see owner photo's so I do love it when people share. I wish I could comment on how lovely people's dolls are more often however I have noticed that the MNF discussion board seems to be the most busy while I am sleep a lot of the time. I can miss sometimes as many as 5-6 pages sometimes.

So thank you to everyone who does share pictures of their dolls!

    51. My pictures seldom get comments either, but this thread moves so fast and with my situation at home I seldom can comment on all the photos I see, or my replies would be endless so I don't worry about it. I still love looking at the pictures and reading the thread even when I'm not directly contributing!
Sometimes when I get too far behind I go to flickr and comment directly.

    52. I agree that it's hard to comment on every photo. By the time I see a photo and want to comment on it, the conversation has run off to another topic altogether. And long replies with responses to a dozen different members (with as many quotes) are almost impossible to read. That said, I enjoy everyone's doll spam tremendously. Up until a few weeks ago I didn't have any Minifees. Now I do and I can't get enough of them, so please post them, whether you get lots of comments or not!

I have a question about boy heads on girl bodies, or girl heads on boy bodies. Do most people who order dolls this way do so without getting the company face-up? I would love to get Mirwen as a boy, but I don't want him to come back from Fairyland faced up like a girl. FL doesn't do custom face-ups, right? Do other people do their own, or send them out to artists?

    53. I don't have a MiniFee yet so I'm here to learn - but most of all I love the pictures! They're helping me decide who I should choose, since there aren't that many face-upped shots on fairylands actual site.
So please post them! Especially if you have Shushu who is my favourite atm :3

Edit: It'd be cool if there was a 'like' or 'favourite' button on posts though :)

    54. For my part I don't often comment pics because I'm French and my english vocabulary is a little limited, so I can't tell much more than " oh he/she 's cute/gorgeous "...
But I really like to look at pics of everyone's dolls, I love to see how different can be the same mold in different owner's hands.

    55. I don't post much, I mostly lurk and I love all the pictures. While I would love to comment
on everything I get a little shy on this thread cuz everyone's mnfs look so amazing. I agree
with Ecmm there should totally be a like button :)

      anyways here are my girls
      [IMG]
      Untitled by HiddlesStiles, on Flickr

    56. I rarely comment on photos because I rarely have time to look at all of them. My working day is very irregular, and I don't even have weekends, so I usually don't tend to spend too much of my precious free time on the forums anyway... Actually, I almost always sleep instead.

That said, I enjoy the photos of everyone's dolls :3

    57. I have to say I think it's a little silly to stop posting photos because nobody comments. This thread moves so fast for a start, plus not everyone has time or maybe they planned to but the thread moved on it felt silly commenting to a photo ten pages back.

I know I certainly don't take and upload photos so everyone can gush at them. I got one comment on my Miyu photo and none on my Ryeon here but I still love posting them for people to see (plus, it's nice to see my improvement with photography, if any). I'm in this hobby for myself, not for comments from others, though I understand it's nice when people do comment and it makes you feel good (I certainly do like compliments, don't get me wrong!) but you shouldn't let that control what you do. It seems a little childish to say "I'm not posting because no one comments!". It's like a child taking away their toys because nobody commented on how great they are and how much they wanted them. *_*

This is a discussion thread after all, and the photos are meant to be secondary. Sorry if I sound harsh, but don't take it personally if no one comments. Everyone here is so nice and friendly I doubt anyone meant any malice by not commenting.

Plus there's been a few discussions where I've asked a question (not here particularly) and it went ignored. But I just assumed no one had an answer for me and that it wasn't out of some spite.

    58. I agree with everyones sentiments about taking photos regardless of the amount of comments. I love seeing them all, but time wise, I just can't make the comments I wish to. A few times I have sent pms to people just to tell them I like their dolls, but these seem to be ignored, so I figure some people really don't care about comments.

On a lighter note, Anne is making a guest appearance with her simi-complete faceup. I know I should probably not mess with her too much before its done (I have not even sealed this layer yet!) but she was just too cute, so I couldn't resist popping in some eyes and a wig for a quick photo.

    59. Milk Bunny : Is that a shiwoo girl? I have hardly seen any ^_^ I am excited to see the face up completed.

      I lurk pretty hard, but I always appreciate the photos posted. Especially on rarer sculpts it really gives me a different look at them. Like others I have a hard time commenting on each and every one since the thread moves so fast. So at least know someone is always silently appreciating your posts ^^;

Speaking of rare-ish sculpts anyone else have face ups on their Mnf Nanuri 2013s yet? I did my head a week ago but I'd love to see some more interpretations. Hopefully this will help anyone waffling on buying it/keeping it ^_^b

I've a few more pictures of her on my flickr if needed as well.

      http://www.flickr.com/photos/crescentbunny/

    60. ^ Yes she is a shiwoo girl. :3 There aren't too many in comparison to the boys, but I think the face works well with both genders.

Your nanuri is gorgeous! I prefer this faceup to the one from the company photo. I have only seen one other with a faceup, a boy.
