Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 32

I dunno I love the M-line bust, as someone whose bust matches the fullness and size of the M-line I guess hearing them always be called fake looking is getting to me a bit.. my boobs take offense since they are far from fake and in everyones business ( first in the room before the rest of me even! ) XD... because I just see them as pre-set for clothing rather than bra-less hanging..

I want the M-line body for Lily :<

 

Mmm really? I only had one problem 6/7 wig with Chloe and it was a Monique one that didn't want to stretch at all. Leeke 7/8 is hit and miss as I got an art wig in 7/8 for my Juri 08 (who's head is smaller than Chloe's) and it fit fine. It wasn't snug, but it didn't drown her head or fall about everywhere. Looking at the wig thread maybe you're right! But as long as it has stretch a 6/7 wig should fit Chloe fine.

AMEN! I, too, am getting rather tired of this attitude in the hobby of "large bust must mean fake!" Hello, they're dolls. None of them have realistic proportions or shape.

I am myself of the large cupped variety, and I can't shop for bras in normal stores. When approached by most sales associates, I get reactions that vary between disbelief, mockery, and the obvious censorial attitudes where you know the assumption is that I paid for my cup size. It's irritating in day to day life and downright dismaying and discouraging in a hobby of such varied tastes and preferences.

Shame on us for having that reaction. If you don't like the shape (or what I think is most likely, the shape) of the M-line bust, then say so. But let's try to avoid declaring them plastic (um, they are ALL plastic), fake, or get insulting about it. There are those of us who like the look of the busts on the M bodies, and such broadly derogatory statements also indirectly offend those who appreciate the aesthetic.

The same goes for headsculpts, face ups, etc. It may not be to your tastes, but it's obviously to SOMEONE'S taste. We should respect that, and each other.

 

@Erratic Rhapsody She's so cute!!! I've got to say, Celine is really starting to grow on me!!! The default faceup looks very gorgeous on her too!!!

I have a question: I'm wanting to buy a pair of jeans for my girlies and the ones from TTYA look really good, but they are quite pricey... Anyone can suggest where I could get a fitting skinny blue jean for less? I would really appreciate some pointers

 

Trust me I know how you feel. Just...when you look at them without being in clothing they look so...Dolly Parton. I like big boobs on dolls...*I have a cutie bust and it bothers me. I don't mind smaller ones *but...I prefer bigger ones. They just need to be clothed to look normal, which is what you're saying. They are preset for bras and clothes which means they would look normal once clothed. xD

Oh, and large doesn't mean fake. There is just a way that they are molded that makes them look fake. And they can't help the way they mold them. There's only so much they can do.

The wig my Siean is wearing on the first page is a 6/7. It is snug and doesn't move around at all unless I almost force it to. The wig my Karsh wears is a 7/8 from Leeke and I feel like I need a wig cap so it'll stay. I also have another 7/8 wig from somewhere else and it almost drowns my MNF. I'm kinda at the point where I'm just going to get 6/7 wigs. :/

I completely agree to what you said!!! I'm not of the large cupped variety, but I think that the M-line is just SO FLIPPIN' CUTE!!! With big boobies and all. I think it suits the body shape perfectly.
I don't think it's necessarily bad that some people wish it had smaller chest option, because they have a different type of character in mind for it and yadayada, but saying that the larger boobs look fake is very... Shallow.
I'm not saying that voicing the own opinion is bad, just be careful of the wording, cause some people might get offended. Minifees have a very cartoon-like/anime-like face sculpts anyways, so I don't see what's with all the fuss about it. You can choose the boob size if it's not to your liking. Might not be an M-line if so, but hey. A-line is awesome too.

 

I prefer the A-line bodies because I like the hips and below better. Heck, I wish we could have all the bust options for both bodies just to make things easier for buyers. I hope they do that. Besides like I've said before...I've been wishing Fairyland would come out with a bigger bust and a medium bust (between the large and small.) And I'm just going to clear things up so not to be off topic and to just put this to rest. 1. Never said "large means fake." 2. Fake doesn't mean bad. People should stop associating fake with negativity. People with breast cancer sometimes get implants. I've seen implants that look real and that look "fake". 3. Because I have certain experiences I can form an accurate opinion which is, "i think they look fake" Or if you prefer "I think they look like implants". Since it is my opinion I'm not apologizing. 4. No one should get offended just because someone else says they don't like it or it looks like "blah". That's their opinion. People shouldn't have to walk on eggshells just so they don't "upset" someone. That goes for sculpts, clothes, bodies, etc.

The bodies are something new to try and appeal to all customers. I like almost all the MNF sizes just because I have an opinion on how one looks doesn't mean it's wrong or that I don't like it.

Anyone have Karsh or Rheia spam?

Oh and as far as jeans go Midori...I know Alice's Collections has some jeans. Not sure if they are really skinny. You could also try leggins that look like jeans maybe?

 

To me it's the shape of the boobs which make them look fake. No girl with a bosom that big has that perfect a shape - all round, no sag. I have nothing against those who choose to augment their shape, to each their own, but I think that labelling everyone who thought the M-line has fake looking boobs as rude/shallow (etc) is wrong and to be perfectly honest, offensive.

I have a large enough pair myself, and my friend, who is larger than me, also described them as "fake-looking." The large bust on the MNF looks real, as there is a natural shape to them. The largest on the M-line is perfectly round and to a lot of people, that sort of shape in that sort of size looks wrong.
I could see myself having a doll with either of the M-line busts... if it fit their character. I wouldn't get the Moe body, simply because I honestly don't like it at all. It's not my style. And there is nothing wrong with that. To then suggest that I'm being derogatory for expressing my opinion is also rather offensive.

 

Well, they do send most minifees in 16mm eyes which are too large also.

However, my ryeon wears 7/8 wig from ForMyDoll and it fits perfect.

 

I've only ever gotten 14mm eyes with my MNFs. I think my Celine is the only one with 16mm and they look really good to me. Gives her more of that little doe like look.

 

I mean, I agree to an extent. I wear a size H. I'm also a larger girl, but those are not small boobs. In corsets and in bras? My boobs look like the M-line huge bust. Sorry, truth. When seeing the doll naked, I had the same reaction of them looking like cartoon boobs or whatever, but as SOON as someone mentioned that it's more like they're sculpted how they would look inside a bra or corset or something I was like "ooooh, I TOTALLY see that" and it's made me super super excited to get an M-line body so I can switch out the bust on the next A-line girl I get, since she's my belly dancer and those boobs are perfect, lol.

I'm also super sad the M-line is being discontinued at the end of June because I've got two trips to take this summer and I don't think I'll have enough money to pay off an M-line body for my Siean head before they discontinue. *pout*

Large doll breasts in themselves don't always look cartoonish, there are many companies with extra large busts options that look super realistic, its just the sticking together so high up like that that bugs me, its as if like they are wearing an invisible corset. I think the Feeple 65 breasts look beautiful and natural in their largeness, but I just cant say the same about the M-line. But of course doesn't mean that other people can't enjoy them, I'm sure that plenty of folks are really excited about getting this body for their dolls. But for me my gal would be perfect with the m-line legs and cutie bust, so I still hold out for that dream.

 

Milk Bunny: Right. Hopefully when they release them again they'll have the bust options for both bodies. I know I'd like one of the new busts but on an a-line. Must keep fingers crossed. We will hold out for our dream!

 

Hello lovely MNF thread!

I am on the verge of getting my first doll (if I cannot get my hands on a Siean or Yder, I will have to flip a coin on getting a Karsh or Eliya from the a la carte on FL)! ...yes, elf dolls, all of them.

I know there are a few other pointy-eared MNFs and some other limited heads, but I was curious if folks had modded any of the traditionally "human" heads to be elves, and how well (or not) they turned out? I'm still honing my eye for being able to see potential in a sculpt (some faceups still surprise me in how much they can change the appearance of a doll), so I was curious if there were people who had pictures or stories/experience about human-to-elf MNFs.

Rambly. I apologize. I blame finals eating my brain, in addition to doll-excitement.

 

Just to (belatedly) pipe into the wig and eye size discussion: my Chloe, Shiwoo and Karsh heads can wear both 6-7 and 7-8 wigs, although of the two sizes, I prefer 7-8 (fit snugly with a silicon cap). Wigs closest in size to 7 inches seem to be the best In the eye matter... My Shiwoo wears 12mm, my Chloe wears 10mm (yes! Small, I know), and my Karsh is a modded sleeping head, his eyes are very small - 8mm might be enough (haven't tried yet, as I'm just finishing his mod, haha). I like dolls to have smaller eyes

Lyzrd - *Does quiet congrats/agreement clap* I'm actually really small chested and I would absolutely LOVE to have bigger boobies, so I like the way the large bust looks. Sure, it's a bit too big looking being just nude, but I'm sure it looks amazing with clothes on. Not many people really keep their dollies on their desk being completely nude all the time, so they'll be covered most of the time. ^_^

tiffanys - I was planning on getting a 6/7 from FMD for Marcy. It's good to know 7/8 fits great :3

 

It's exactly the other way around for me. I have big boobs and prefer dolls with small ones :P

 

@Erratic Rhapsody Thank you for the idea! I might try researching about the jeans from Alice's. I've got a pair of jean leggings from NineStyle, just wanted ones that are blue.

Regarding to the bust discussion and whatnot... I don't think it is wrong to have an own opinion about them, it's just that some people word their opinion in a way where it can be easily misunderstood. Everybody is entitled to like what they like, cutie, small, large, moe, etc.
I think what Fairyland did with the new Moe line is great. It definetely lives up to it's name and it's different from the Active line. As an artist or a company, they did their jobs well. They've created something that has the Fairyland feel to it (mobility of the joints, the body curves, etc), but is something different and new.
I can see why the size of the busts is a big problem to some and voicing the fact that they could have made a smaller bust size to it, is not wrong. Smaller can also be very Moe.
I don't think that the bust sizes available for that body are by any means "fake" (in any way you want to understand that). You can't really expect for the dolls, especially MNF's to look very human like, cause they don't. They bend and twist and pose almost like one, but proportion wise and face wise, not so much.
So having a body that gravitates towards an anime girls proportions, nothing wrong with that.

Here here! I'm a FF, and totally agree with boobs taking offense. I don't think they look fake, to my they just look like they're in a bra. Cause we need to remember BJDs are designed to have clothes put on them, so I always just in my head imagine that my dolls all have invisible bras on, and that's what's holding their boobs up.
I agree with Lyzrd - sure, you can say you don't like it, but we really shouldn't start saying things any more cruel than that. It's unkind to people who do like it - everyone is welcome to their opinion, but it doesn't mean we need to be mean about it

 

Am I the only one a little bothered that FL is telling us they want to reduce production times by taking down the Mline body...yet they release another SD that comes with additional fantasy parts AND has a tan skin option?

Like...that's not just me right?

I can see why they would do it in attempts of making more money....but

If they are going to complain about being behind on things then why the heck would they release a new doll with an event and all this other stuff? It makes no sense whatsoever.
I don't know if they are doing it to make more money or not...I mean...obviously they are making quite a bit since they are claiming to be behind on orders (which I don't doubt) plus releasing this dude on top of the M-line.

And I believe another question to add is...why can't we get tan skin in the MNF? Dx Will it be a future option?

 

Totally agree. They show us the cake, we say it is yummy, and they say "ok, but you know, it will be unavailable in a moment". Who does that seriously?!
I wanted to order Moe line in july or august, and with this info I am doomed. I don't suppose I can collect the money until end of june
The body was planned for my Cameo, now she will have to wait, nobody knows how long, obviously

I am sad to hear that M-line is being suspended with no re-release date in sight!! I really hope when they bring it back they have all the busts as an option for it, because would be awesome. I really hope they have just suspended them because they have been popular and they need to catch up! I really would like that body in the future, however I need to wait for the right elf girl.

As for the bust discussion, I think it is perfectly OK to have personal preferences to any size chest. I can understand why someone with a large chest would be offended by some comments about large breast looking fake. However I personally are very large chested and can see where the comments are coming from, because resin looks very different to actual breasts since it is solid and does not move at all. Actual breasts can move and will sit differently when not in a bra or depending on clothes that is being worn, with bigger breasts this is more obvious then smaller chests.

So personally I think smaller breasts on resin dolls is easier to do without looking fake, because the what I see with larger breasted dolls they seem to be sculpted so they look like they are pushed up, like if they were wearing a bra, which when clothed would look natural. However when nude it looks fake because fake breasts are more likely to behave that way. I have one doll who is large chested and they look squished together, which when nude looks odd. However doesn't when clothed. So it could be possible that people making these comments, could be going off that and has a very different opinion with women with actual large breasts.

Personally I have a preference for smaller bust dolls in general. However I think for me it is the grass is greener on the other side thing. Although with the character I have in mind for the M-line, is an elf that is very short and is smaller in build then humans because she was from the table top dragon age RPG. So it is very much a character thing, plus since the larger A-line chests can have the popping chest issue. It would be a concern for me, since it would probably bug me too much, I sold my Karsh in the end because his chest did my head in.

 

It's only going to be *temporarily* unavailable for a while, then they'll bring it back.

Although, I agree with everyone else: They shouldn't be releasing a new doll if they're really backed up on orders and already are making one doll temporarily unavailable in the process. :P It's just as bad as LatiDoll releasing new limiteds after getting really set behind on orders...

 

I agree bringing out a new doll when they are busy does seem like a bad plan. However I do think it is better that they are stopping taking orders rather then to let the waiting list to grow longer. I know it can be very frustrating waiting for a doll, so I think in a way it is better if a company would stop orders to catch up.

What Im thinking about this new line is that they have production set up in different teams. X group does small dolls, Y does mnf, and Z does the larger dolls. Maybe Y is falling behind but the other groups are okay to handle a new doll release?

Seriously would love some mnf tan though I have two CP lishe mnf heads in tan but finding a body to hybrid them has been hard! Also... just need more variety. I dont want my people all one color XD

Oh man if they did a Minifee in that chocopuki tan I would be in HEAVEN. Lord knows the complications though with that dark of a resin they'd have since they even said they had trouble with the chocopukis because of the resin. But man, that dark chocolate color was so nice @~@

I just feel like all the other sizes are getting slightly brushed aside for the SDs recently and I mean, more power to the ones who like the Feeples, but I feel like Minifee owners FINALLY get something new, and it's taken away to be replaced by an SD?

I have a theory - it might be wrong though. If they have so and so many moulds for each kind of doll it could be a problem to make A LOT of the same doll but easy enough to make different dolls. I think some of their decisions are based on what's pratical. Like for instans I think they cast dolls with everything. I mean I think every time someone orderes a MiniFee without sleeping head they have to throw the sleeping head away. That's just how I imagen it works.

Wouldn't they lose money if they did that though? That means each time they make a doll when someone didn't order the sleeping head they'd be losing resin. They would be wasting it and not gaining a profit. Doesn't seem smart from a business stand point. Also, it seems like the more you order the longer it takes, which makes me think they have separate molds for each part- head, hands, feet, etc. Who knows? They could do it that way or they might be behind for the X, Y, and Z reason mentioned up there...somewhere.

I have had two regular MNF to Elf MNF mods in my home. They are not mods I did 100% by myself but I can vouch for the possibility of the change. Kier (who I still own) is a Mirwen mod:



But I did also own a Modded Shushu that had longer elf ears.

 

Yeeeaaah, I don't think they make the dolls with *everything* if the person didn't order everything.... That would make them lose money for sure. I think they only cast what's needed, and nothing more.

 

Your Shushu's ears make me feel all squishy on the inside and make me smile. Idk why. XD But...they are just

 

Haha thank you! Sadly she has moved onto a new home since I had trouble bonding with her after the modifications were done. But she was a lovely girl and I did enjoy owning her while I did.

But I definitely think elf ears are doable if you can find someone willing to do it, or feel adventurous and want to try experimenting yourself. I think maybe one day FL should just do events with already existing MNF and give them elf ears like some other companies do. Instead of worrying about releasing new sculpts. I think a lot of people would be happy with events like that.

No, not his default. I got him from the MP and he had the amazing blushing and tattoo as well as some tastefully done scars. I love him to death! It is possible the face-up itself is the default but I don't think so.

Yeah because the default is what he has in the old original set. But...you got him in the box so I was very confused I thought he was freshly shipped from Fairyland. Totally didn't notice the tattoo. XD

 

Uh guys please don't forget that they've had this new Feeple planned for months and have been making executive decisions around it.
Obviously the FL people decided that they needed as much staff especially in the magnet installing department dishing out the parts for the Feelpe which has magnetic feet. They want the new release to run as smoothly as possible especially considering they are going to have plenty of tan resin issues to deal with so suspending another magnet intensive live for the duration of this limited edition made the most sense to them.

Watch as soon as this guy has been all shipped out and they can breath they'll bring the m'line back...and hopefully/probably with the greater customization they said they where thinking of having but need more time to plan and organize.
And that I'm willing to wait for.

 

The fact that they've been planning this Feeple for months makes it worse. If they were planning they should have accounted for needing people and getting backed up and should have had a backup plan or just taken a bit of a break inbetween events instead of having them back to back.

In product development they're always doing things to make the machine run as smoothly and efficiently as possible for everyone. They know they have amazing customers, and they do so much to make us happy. Trust them when they make decisions like this, we can only arm chair speculate their reasons behind it. Also remember that they aren't making these decisions based on pure greed, stupidity, or to be mean. Patience, understanding, and peace, y'all.

 

It doesn't make sense to release something new about two weeks before something else and then take the previously introduced product down though.

And they said the same thing about the C-line for adding "more additions and fantasy parts" Yet, I haven't seen anything from them in almost a year+ that would be related to their previously stated "expectations" for that line. :\

I'm not trying to be the FL pessimist over here, but I wouldn't get your hopes up for seeing the M-line return any time soon once it's taken down, and it'd probably be more wise to order it before the end of June then sit around and hope to see it sooner rather then later. (Keeping FL's track record with these things in mind anyways)

Me too, since I now would really like to make my character Xyphos because of the new M-line body. Plus it will be better the new heads all the time, that could be popular choices as actual dolls.

I think she is pretty, and I do actually really like the Rheia sculpt. It is really cool that she is similar to your old character.

My new elf girl was from Dragon Age the table top game rather then D&D. They are both fantasy base role-playing games, just the Dragon Age one has the same setting as the computer game and the elves are a little different in Dragon Age. They are shorter then humans and tend to be a smaller build in general. They also have a human life span rather, then live for a long time. That is why I thought the M-line body would be awesome because she would be smaller then all my other dolls, which would mean she would scale really nicely. It is so perfect! I am going to start saving soon and wait for the right head.

The only thing that I worry about is the fact that I would most likely go for the cutie bust if I could, and character wise she ended up selling her body because elves tend to be poor and live in slums and the DM mentioned how much money she would get selling her body, so she did since it was more money then she had seen in her life. She had a big family and wanted to help them, plus the other player ended up playing a human boy who was 10 years younger then her and he was a homeless kid who had friends. So she ended up with 7 human children following her around too. All 8 character were also thieves... So that could be interesting. I did really like her though and the entire Elven Tarot deck I drew was for this character.

(Drisimi, Scops, Ico and Ki are all D&D character though, although Scops is Drisimi's best friend so was played by my boyfriend)

 

Oh yes I remembered you saying it was Dragon Age before ^_^ I think that's neat because I love elves and I myself am really short so in this instance I could be an elf LOL

@alogue: The Shushu ears!! /dead. Those are excellent looking - with that little curve. I haven't seen anything quite like those. Super cute. Your Mirwen is also quite excellent.
