Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 31

Jun 20, 2012

    1. aiushtha: She's so cute! Blair is lovely, as always. And I love her faceup so much <3

TPR: I think she was saying that they were more like Minifees. And that she'd just heard that someone else had said that about the C-Lines.

    2. Oooh interesting! I actually quite like it, well the smaller boob option anyway, those bazoomas are not really my thing. in fact I kinda hope they offer cutie bust with it. I agree with what someone said about wishing it was a smaller inbetween mnf and ltf size (sorry I'm on phone and it's hard to check back and see) but as you guys are saying it shorter, it could work as that with a cutie bust maybe?
I also hope it has the neat twisty hand contraption like all the other lines that stops the hands falling off, and maybe it has mag on feet too?!

    3. I wasn't attacking her - I was getting frustrated since I'd said pretty much exactly same thing at the top of the page and it felt like no one was reading or paying any attention to what else was going on!

I somehow don't think it's shorter - since it looks like they used the MNF chest pieces in the shots on the blog (the smaller boobs they show look like the current large bust MNF) and on the other shots they look like the cutie or small bust piece from the MNF as well. If anything I think there's a possibility it could be taller, or at least the same size.

    4. yeah i see what you mean actually, now im on my laptop getting a proper look. oh taller could be good too, any variation on the body is good for me so i dont end up with five hundred dolls that are all the same , seeing as i cant seem to stop wanting more minifee

    5. Can you tell me the best size wig for Minifee Mirwen? I have a Chloe using 6-7 but I read some Minifees use 7-8.

    6. Wow, go to bed and wake up to lots of new developments! The new body's pretty sweet, I like the clean lines and her curves. But I have to admit, I agree with Allstar- that large bust is a bit huge for such a small body..lol. Imo, she looks the same height as the current body.
I look forward to seeing more, maybe we have a few new mnf sculpts to look forward to, too. I hope none pull on my heart strings...celine is suppose to be my last mini..lol ;)

    7. I totally agree. I like variety in my dolls. This body is a little too pear shaped for my liking but not too badly. If they come with smaller busts I might want a single doll on that body some day. The biggest boops are ugly IMO. They have a totally unnatural shape. I'm thinking they look like someone who got way too much silikone added. They are almost like . . . balls. I don't like the feet either. The hands looks really nice though.

I guess if they don't leave the current A line body as an option I'm not getting any more MiniFees.

I always wanted a line between LittleFee and MiniFee with very small busts. And I wouldn't mind one between PukiFees and LittleFees either. The size between LittleFee and MiniFee you can get from other companies - Like IpleHouse KIDs for instans - but I haven't found any about 20cm dolls that I really like. There's of course Lati Yellow Special body but for me most Lati dolls have too sad faces.

    8. am i the only one who doesn't think this looks pear shaped? I own the leeke art body and that my friends, is a pear. this new body has slightly larger hips, but nothing out of proportion to normal "aesthetics". the shoulders seem less broad, which is a nice change and the hips flare just so. i quite like it actually, gonna agree with allstar there. like some variety. i love my mnfs, but i dont like looking at the same type of doll all the time. a few months ago i actually started to despite the fact that i owned so much fairyland and not enough other types of companies...:/

ANYWAYS...took the liberty of snagging some pics from FL to post here for comparison:

sorry she is shorter in the last pic, but thats how the cooke crumbles. i couldnt find a body shot of the cline, however, if you follow the nifty links that TPR posted last page, here they are again, you can see how hourglass shaped the cline body is.

      http://www.flickr.com/photos/teapartyrevolution/7531532616/

the feet are totally smaller, definitely look like yo-sized, reminds me of my IP KID Lonnie who has yo sized feet and when sitting, is the same height as my mnf girls bc the upper torso is so elongated. there is a pic in the FL image blog there that you can see the proportions of the hands next to the feet and they about the same size, if thats anything to go by (my hands are almost the same sze as my feet and i wear a size nine, so its not terribly unrealistic...). i like that FL is expanding a bit on aesthetics, not sure if its needed or whatever, maybe instead adding the option to the mnf hands of the latch thing might have been a better idea than a whole nother new line...

also, has anyone though about what the male body options might be like? i feel like they would try to release a male at the same time maybe, like they have done prior with cline, delf, etc etc. and i totally cant even imagine any improvments/differences/deviations/etc form the male aline or cline bodies...male anatomy is so much more boxy and harder to change i think. i mean maybe in the larger sizes you could so more sculptural work, more details, but i think in the smaller size....there is a bit of a wall eventually to what can be done/considered still "realistic".

and thats my two cents. ^^

    9. -pops in-

When this body came out two years ago (the LE Mami Tomoe release) I know a few of us looked into it pretty in depth. If memory serves me right the height of her is 38 and the rest is pretty even proportion to MNF aside from the feet.

Personally I would have preferred a large bust option for the MNF body they already have before a whole new body :\ but this one is pretty cute. Too bad I am not interested in any more minis or else I'd consider bringing this cutie home.

Part of me wonders if this body will be wearing YoSD shoes?

    10. i would totally be ok with this being 38cm...that definitely confirms my theory of her feet and why. :)

    11. I personally love the look of the new body! I would happily get one for Lily . Her. Character would still appear hour glass which is important. People keep adding she is very pear shape, which I suppose it is, but thank goodness it's not like the leeke art body exaggerated pear form. Plus imo with Myca whose cutie legged and anak bust her silhouette is very pear shaped!

I for one am excited for it. Devin and Lily wouldn't have to share

    12. 38cm height sounds adorable! im really excited for them to release more info eee :D

    13. Personally, I'm not excited because of the new MNF body at all. It looks much more bully to me, mostly because of it's higher waist line. The hands - in my opinion - are too demonic to fit such a childish silhouette. I think the new feet are a mistake, too: they seem to be too small for this body. As long as I can choose, I'll stick to the old one type.

    14. I have to say... I'm an extremely huge fan of the new girl body :) Probably not as a permanent change to the original MNF A-Line girl body, but it's a nice alternative for people that want a bit more variety in their doll bodies. I like the subtle pear shape, it's not as exaggerated as most, so it's still rather... I guess, realistic while still being stylized. I'm a bit curious as to what they might do to the guys (although something in me would really like it if their guy body was the exact opposite of their girl body, and was taller and lankier than the A-Line.)

    15. TrinityInRainbows - I agree %100 with you, I really dislike the pear body shape so many companies do. Thats probably the biggest reason I dislike the new body.

A girl in a fb group did an overlay of the bodies, the new one seems to have a longer torso and is a tiny bit thicker.
(She lined the bodies up at the shoulders ) But there's always the fact of camera angles. She also said she did the feet and that they were the same, though they really don't look it.

Edit: whoops! Totally didn't see the posts above me.
The feet are totally smaller!! They look awkward really, like how can you balance?

    16. The head looks sorta like a Soony, or lishe.. to me but I'm looking at a phone screen.

    17. TeaPartyRevolution: Someone can think that it resembles the c-line body without being wrong. It's all opinion and speculation at this point so there's no need to bite people's heads off for having a different opinion than you. I don't think it looks much like the c-line, but I can also see why people would think it does. I just don't understand why you seem so upset that people are discussing minifees in the minifee discussion thread. :/ It's not that people are ignoring your opinion, it's that everyone is voicing their own thoughts which might not be in agreement with yours.

    18. Hmm...undecided on the new body. I like the torso without the hip joint but I don't know about finding shoes to fit the smaller feet. I absolutely hate the "boob job" look of the large bust and likely wouldn't buy this body unless other bust options are offered.

Question: How many MSD sized dolls do you own? Do you think you have room for more or do you feel like you are at a good number? I ask because my dolls aren't meant to fit a specific story line so I haven't purchased them to represent a character but have bought whatever has caught my eye. I'm starting to feel like I have too many dolls (with the ones on order) yet I don't wan to part with any of them.

    19. I think the new body is cute, aside from the squished feet and the enormous boobs... I'd love a body like that for one of my girls, if there was an option for slightly smaller boobs, like the body for the Mami doll. None of the current options look very natural to me, and more like balloons. D: I do hope the A-line's kept available even when the new one comes out.

    20. I don't really have a big opinion about the new body yet. The feet do look small, but I feel that way about myself lol. I only wear a 6.5 shoe and feel often like my feet look out of proportion haha since I have a bigger chest and hips. :sweat I will be curious to see what other options come out and if they do the locking mechanism for the hands like the F60s have. At the moment though, I don't need any other mnf bodies :)

    21. I gotta agree that I actually like the new body too! It's posing ability is just as fantastic as the previous bodies. I also actually like that slight pear shape!
I just don't agree with those ginormous boobs. They actually look like they hurt.

    22. I like the aesthetic without the waist joint but I wonder about posing. The one picture of her sitting on the bench makes it look like she suffers from not being able to sit straight up. I hate it when dolls can only slouch when they sit :| That's usually when the MNF waist joint comes into play for my dolls--though the waistline really was particularly unattractive, even among other dolls with waist joints.

Answer: I have nine 1/4 scale dolls (oops, how did that happen? :o) including 3 Fairyland Minifees and 1 Luts Minifee. ALL my dolls don't fit into the same story, but I do have bunches of them that hang out together. My Rosettes are part of a steampunk fairy group, my MNFs are part of a fantasy elf group, etc. I personally feel like I've reached a boiling point with them though. My display shelf is full and not everyone can be seen so well since I have to tuck a few in the back for space! So I won't be getting any new ones...Unless Enaibi were to finally release her dolls for a larger audience to buy, Jpop dolls releases the Raspberry elf with a large bust ...or FL comes out with the most amazing elf sculpt ever for this new body! :doh

    23. I have large boobs. I know how troublesome it is. When dolls get those huge blown up balloons, I can only imagine how much it would hurt my back more than it already does if I had those djkgjfgf... :<

    24. Hm, not a huge fan of the new body, but, as long as they keep the old one, I'm always supremely happy to see more options :) I will be a bit worried if they ax the aline, but I think that's unlikely. I have to say though, I don't really understand why the term "pear shaped" is being thrown around for this body... Certainly her hips are the widest part of her, but that's the norm for females. I actually think her torso looks a little elongated, almost slightly reminiscent to the Doll Chateau torso, except much much more subtle, of course. But perhaps this is an illusion created by there not being the joint in the hips that I'm used to, which breaks up her torso more? I dunno. Does anyone else think her squished little tushie is funny? XD Hehehe! But her arm shape is very elegant (is that a strange thing to think is pretty? Haha!)

    25. I am getting a Dikadoll Rena and I want to get a Fairyland body for my Dikadoll Event head but also to get heeled feet for them both, so is Fairyland compatible with Dikadoll's normal pink skin? Sorry if this doesn't go here

    26. I would have to agree with the c-line similarities for this body. Having owned C-line myself and the way this new body looks (and considering it was originally designed around the time the c-line were first introduced) I can see why they did what they did.

And for clarification, the original Mami body came with the LARGE bust. Mami's character in the anime is known for how incredibly well endowed she is lol! The small bust was probably used for posing picture purposes, which leaves me under the impression that this new body probably is compatible with the a-line bust pieces.

    27. My first reaction was I don't like it at all!
But looking it over I actually think that with the really small cutie bust this body would be super adorable for some of the more innocent looking faces. I know not everyone is looking for the late-teenage+ looking body and this new one gives an illusion of being chubbier than the a-lines. I sort of hope it might be shorter, because then I might actually be tempted to get it with a Miyu head.

As for getting rid of the a-lines, I highly doubt that would happen... who gets rid of one of their biggest sellers? especially after they added it as a separate item? No, I'm glad they are giving us more choices.

Also that is NOT a face I've seen before... preview of new minifee sculpt as well!?

    28. i am not a fan either....I hate the "jelly mold" boobs, like they have been just stuck on..the bustline reminds me a lot of Elfdoll when they changed the SD boob area....The feet look much smaller,it'd a shame as i loved the old bod

    29. Bleh. I do hope they keep the A-lines because this new one does absolutely nothing for me. It's like she is too top-heavy for those tiny feet and should face-plant any minute. Not the doll literally, I mean just the look she has. I also fear that the loss of the waist joint will really limit sitting and slouching poses even more, as well.

Edited to add: Those boobs are WAY too unrealistically high on the body. Who has their breasts positioned right below their clavicle like that?

More even than the size and shape, that right-below-the-clavicle-position makes the breast area look bizarre and disfigured, to me.

    30. Oh i like this new version~ Its like minifee version of the chiclines~ and i love my chicline~ :D

    31. Hehe thanks, I guess I wasn't very clear, yeah that's what I meant.. I read some opinions saying she looks a bit like the C-Lines but I thought that aesthetically they didn't. (But perhaps engineering-wise they do, b/c of the lack of the hip joint.)

I read your post and I think I mostly agree! And don't worry, didn't take it as an attack.. Healthy discussions here :) I have a few C-Lines myself too but I play with 1~2 dolls at a time, and it's been Minifee's turn for a few months now and I almost forgot what the C-Line bodies look like atm...

My Mirwen uses 6~7 as well. In fact, all of my Minifees seem to fit better in 6~7s (Juri 08, Juri 10, Chloe, Mirwen. Also tried the wigs on Nanuri 13 and Juri 11, 6~7 worked better.) And while we're talking about Mirwen, let me just throw a picture in:

Before the Show by norahyah, on Flickr
      She's in a 6~7 Wig Wing wig.

I agree about the pear shape thing a little... Well, I think she's a tiny bit pear shaped but in a rather feminine way rather than the exaggerated way a la Leeke's Art Body. I actually think her torso looks quite nice! Her legs are where I feel a bit unsure... They look chubby and less graceful compared to the A-Line body. And those feet.. I just don't get it if they really made them smaller. Wouldn't it make them harder to balance? Not to mention impossible to find shoes for... It's not like Fairyland likes to make us clothing and accessories...

Wow you're probably right but I really can't imagine YoSD shoes on that body! Most of the ones on the market are rather childish and chunky looking and on such a mature body....???

    32. Short people can still have giant racks, and I would know cause I'm one of them, so I like the proportions of the new body through the torso. The breasts when clothed will look like the body's wearing a good bra, which is prob what they were going for. Now if only the regular A line bodies could actually have a large bust option that is actually large. It's always been way too small for me.

The similarity with the C line body is definitely in the engineering around the hip area and the disproportionately small feet. The posing pics themselves are reminiscent of the original C line posing pics.

    33. I have to admit, I really like this body a lot so far. I love the way the shoulders look in comparison to the A-line body, and I love how streamline the stomach and hips are without the hip joint.
I also have to admit I love the shape of the larger breasts. They are a bit big, but that's what I like about them. I don't normally like larger breasts on my dolls, but I could see myself owning this body in a large bust, it would be all the more epic if it is in fact a bit smaller. I am really excited about the proportions, especially if it is a shorter body.
The only thing I am a little weary on is the feet. When I had my C-line girl, she never had any shoes while with me because it was like nothing fit her. Hopefully I won't find dressing this doll as difficult as dressing the C-line (especially in the shoe area), because I definitely plan on getting this body. I also have to say I am quite excited about the prospect of an even larger variety of bodies, since most of my dolls are minifees, I was dreading the possibility of having so many repeat bodies.
I wonder if this body will have Cutie/Model leg options available to it.

    34. I actually like this body too (curves ftw), but the small feet worry me as well. As if it's not hard enough to find decent shoes that fit slim minis.

I'm eager to see a redesign of the boy body now! Are they even doing one? *doesn't keep up with anything*

    35. VampirAngel13, I agree wholeheartedly! More boy plz.
The new girl body looks totally k-a. She's lovely, and poses so very well. I hope that translates to customer experience with posing.

    36. I really love the new body , the new breast is really sexy and I prefer the abdomen in one piece
If finally this body is shorter than older , definitely need one for my Juri 11

    37. I think dressing the C-line body is a little easier for me, especially the feet. The Tonner and Ellowyne Wilde shoes fit great, and there are tons of those on ebay. Plus those clothes mostly fit, too.

I'm still undecided about the new body. I'd love to see a comparison picture with MNF and C-line.

    38. By now I don't like it because of the pear shape and the legs. It doesn't look as graceful as the other body.

    39. I am almost wondering if the fashion doll clothes would fit better on this new body then the c-line or the MNf. Considering this body will undoubtedly be shorter, it means the pants would be a better length, and also with the larger bust piece there's a chance it would fill out the top in the fashion doll clothes more (lord knows they have bust to spare...oof!)

I like the large bust, I really think they were going for the, "This is what they'd look like with proper support" look. Since most people dont have their dolls laying around naked, it's understandable they'd go for this kind of look.

I'm ready for some official body specs. Gonna tease us with a ton of pictures and then not show us any actual measurements~ FL really is a big tease!

    40. You are exactly right - everyone has different experiences and those are mostly colored by opinion. In the end, none of the issues would be annoying enough to keep me from getting the doll I wanted. So you go with what you are attracted to :D
There are no shoes/boots that don't fit my dolls equally well ...
      LUV Blair !!!

Alright, I read all the opinions and at first I was gonna respond to a bunch of them individually but that would have been tedious so I'm just gonna give my two cents 'cause we're allowed to do that here :D Do I hate the new body ? No - I can see why some people are calling it pear shaped when compared to the A-line but in truth, it is pretty darn realistic and not exaggerated at all ... if you gave her cutie bewbs, that's what I look like. I'm not personally fond of the smaller feet or the unrealistic looking breasts but that's my opinion. I also think, from under the bewbs down, the body does look more early teenager but a lot of people here have their dolls in that age range. In the end I agree that variety is the spice of life so while the new body may not work for me and I pray they don't stop making the A-Line, I can't deny I will enjoy seeing other people's dolls with it.

    41. This is a real interesting body they have come up with. Even if the boobs are larger I wonder what size the feet are now? Are they going to be smaller than the current Minifee one's or are they going to stay the same?

    42. Yeah just not a fan of the "new" body.

Feet that small on a body with the other bone proportions she'd have if she were real is borderline realistic, pushing into disturbing. I know people with tiny feet, and only very rarely do you get someone who has feet that small without a shortening in minor ways of certain other bones that this body does not have. It looks Off to me.

So do the helium boobs, but as a DD and a life drawing trained artist, I just tend to snark at anything silicone looking because I know what real big cup size should be doing, and "floating" is not real looking. Real large breasts have gravity to them, even if you sculpt them to look like they're being held up by a great bra so the doll looks good clothed. Silicone does not behave like real breast tissue since it's much denser and more stiff, hence the pop-up, tacked on look.

    43. I think one of the things though to keep in mind is that they're not going for a "realistic" look. This body is based off of an ANIME character. And I think those of us who do watch are well aware how boobs write their own laws in anime lmao!

I do look forward to seeing what options they give to us in the end with this body though. Personally I'd like some more hands, I feel like other then the recent SD, and C-line groups, all the tinies get fun little hands to play around with. I'd like to have my girl get some fun hands. I feel like we've waited long enough for at least those, let alone this "new" body.

    44. Popping in to say that as someone with a rather large chest and VERY small feet, this is about as realistic as insert something witty here. I was kind of hoping for a younger looking msd body from FL to see where they'd go with it. And apparently they went with zero gravity boob balls. Say what you will about the current bodies but even their largest bust shows SOME signs of gravity. They're not just floating there like balloons. And why do companies hate hip joints all of a sudden? What'd they ever do to you? What I'd love to see is a legs hugging pose, it's so rare to find bodies that do that naturally!

    45. well then don't think of them as Silicone/helium boobs? XD I can say that If I put on the right bra my own bust being quite hefty looks just like those Not as high to the clavical (unless in a corset ) but just as pressed together, high and full... I don't see them as implant-type breasts .. Just very lifted I've seen my own do that before so I just think of them as being perfect for different styles of clothing.. I'd like to alternate busts between those and the regular large bust for costuming if the torso was interchangeable that way I'd be so excited! It would most likely not work, but if it does.. Ohboy! <3

    46. I came here to see opinions on the new body because the moment I saw it I fell in love :D but it seems that there is no much love for it :atremblin
I do like the big boobs and the kinda chunky appearance :)

alogue; I do like anime and manga and I find the new body really cute and it fit perfectly in that "world"

    47. I do like the new body, but agree that MNF big boobs aren't the best... They could work a little on it and these bodies would be the really stunning!
I'm not very concearned abut the size of the feet, but about the size of the body overall... It does seems to have the proportions a little different from the other bodies, or is it just me?

BTW, does anyone know wich head is this one on the new body?

    48. Silvermasques: It'd be nice if they made bust pieces interchangeable with this new body, it half makes you wonder if they'd consider selling the chests separately if that were the case?

pecore00: Yeah, looking at the body and then looking at the original artwork done for Madoka Magika they really did get the appearance spot on. I think a lot of people forget (or just don't know half the time) that CP was always a anime figure maker first before and now. I do like their interpretations that they pull into their BJD though.

Rabiruchi: I think the ongoing assumption is that this is a new sculpt?

    49. Alogue Oooh~! <3 That would be so nice <3 <3 I am sure they'd complain about selling the piece along, like they did with the neck connectors for so long..

It's be so happy if they do fit though. ( imo the new head kinda seems like a soony to me <3... )

    50. I actually think the male body could be changed a lot. I mean men often have much broader shoulders and deeper chests than women and often more narrow hips compared to their upper body. In a way the male body - I'm talking about the A-line here - seems a lot less mature than the female one. I wouldn't mind a more mature male body option. (And a few more mature male faces) I don't think it's going to happen though.

I totally agree. And the biggest breast looks like balloons too. I never though silicone breasts were attractive in humans and they are not in dolls either. I prefeer resin breasts. LOL

      Well said Ban!

      Dustbunnie

    51. I personally doubt they'd ever discontinue the A-Line, people would riot in the streets! Afterall, they keep the B-Line around, now there can be three choices! I hope if they get new hands, they're interchangeable with the A-Line bodies.

    52. Eh, I think the boobs look fine for what they are. CP's aesthetic has never been remotely realistic and has always been influenced by their anime roots, especially this body since it was originally designed for an anime character doll. And on a side note, I'm really tired of people using silicone or implants as a pejorative, it's body shaming and not cool.

I'd be tempted to get this body for Sif since Sif could use some bulk and much bigger boobs, but the small feet are the hold up for me. They just look like they're be hard to find to shoes for.

    53. I don't mind the new body but I would love FL to add more skin tones to the old ones + more parts options like Iplehouse's Geta foot so having that will give cute add to the minifee wear, more hand parts + ones with maybe long nails .. + adding more optional face plates of heads with more expressions (crying, laughing, anger, goofy) esp that most of the stuff they have on the website is sold out.

    54. Oh I personally have no jive with people who get it done for themselves, body shaming sucks. I just think it's kind of weird on dolls. Personally I prefer smaller busts all around for dolls. I have my own monster boobs, some change of pace is nice. xD I'd like to see a comparison of both bodies together, that might help people decide easier. And this sculpt looks new too! Who could it be~?

    55. yesyes I'm dying to know how much shorter she is for real....if it's 40 that's not much of a diff, but she's shorter than that I may actually have to get one! I'm not sure which to hope for!

    56. Oooh I kinda like it. The bust would be good for my Chloe, who I'm planning on having as a model/japanese idol inspired character. Though I wouldn't have wanted her to be the shortest out of my girls. If they sell the body with the small bust I may get it for my Miyu girl definitely as I want her to be the smallest.

Mmm, if you could swap the legs I could just get a normal small bust body for my Miyu and the new one and swap the legs so my Chloe can be the right height with her big boobies. XD Not sure if that'd be possible since it's a new design though...

    57. Another random thought (god I'm posting here a lot today...)

I wonder, if the busts do end up being interchangeable, would the feet be too? On the off chance the feet are awkwardly small and dont match up, I wonder if you could change them out for regular a-line feet? That'd make things more convenient if the feet on the body now did end up being petite...

    58. The only thing I don't really like about the new body is that she has pretty much no curves from the front! WHERE IS HER WAIST? Also her feet look like YoSD size.... HMMMMM

I think I can pass on this one, but I'm glad there's more options for those who do like it.

    59. ooooooh a new body! How interesting. I do like the idea of more options, but I'm not sure about this particular option..... Those boobs are silly, and those feet are SO tiny. I do like the other proportions though. Her waist and hips are just like mine, just subtle curves. I really REALLY hope they put out a comparison between this and the a-line. If it is shorter it may be perfect for a little sister character I've been trying to plan....

Oh, and someone (I can't remember who, I think it was pretty far back) mentioned the idea of a taller, lankier boy body option to go along with this girl. Sounds like an AMAZING idea to me!

Looking forward to more information about all of this, and to find out who that new head sculpt is too :)
