What are you opinions on Model legs vs Cutie legs?

Ive heard that model legs are quite sturdy compared to cutie legs. But cutie legs are pretty darn 'cute' haha.
Im ordering a minifee soon and after watching a few videos Im considering Model legs.

What are your thoughts on them?

Also, large bust compared or small - does it cause any posing issues with the arms?

I honestly don't see much different between them to what they can do pose wise etc. However the cutie legs are more shapely which I like and the model legs are shorter. So the thing what might be worth thinking about is how tall/short do you want your girl to be.

Im going to go look at a comparison on how much shorter she is.
It wont make a huge difference when buying pants will it?

Ebony Rain - I have both legs and busts, I love the look of the cutie legs but my model legs are so much more cooperative and my girl who has them stands soooo much better and my other girl is even hot glue sueded. The model legs are just a little shorter but it's hardly noticeable.
As for pants, my girls both have Monstrodesign pants and they fit just as nice.
The busts... well the large one is really nice, and alot of clothes fit it perfectly, not problem, one thing I don't care for is the... 'bumps' stick or 'poke' out a lot more. The small bust, I have a hard time finding cute clothes that will fit tightly around the chest, of course I can just take them in and you could be more cautious of buying clothes that will fit the smaller bust.
Oh, one more thing with my girl's large bust, she doesn't slouch, I think they get in the way?

Does anyone know if the Alice's Collection 1/4 stuff fits MNF?

 

Shlee - the Alice's Collection items I have gotten before were for my boys, but it was hit or miss with their stuff. The jeans are a really good to perfect fit, but the long sleeve shirts are a little bit on the big side - I am sure that if you provided them measurements that they could make them for you, since they have really good customer service and most of their items are made to order.

I had read on Flickr that the large bust caused this one woman posing issues, but she never went further into that.
Do you mind that she doesn't slouch as well? And I'm sort of bummed to hear that the small bust doesnt fit as well around the chest with clothing, it doesn't seem that much smaller than the large.
I thought the small bust looked like just the perfect size, not too big and not too small. Over all do you like the large bust or is the small bust your favorite?

And Im set on the model legs now, thanks for confirming that for me!

I emailed them once and the only items that can be made to order or custom are the ones that say SPO. Most MSD stuff did fit my minifee girls that I bought from them, just a little on the bulky side. Things like tshirts, smaller skirts, the jackets etc. did work out just fine. I haven't tried the jeans yet to know if those fit.

I have both legs and both bust sizes. My experience is different from Karter's though - I don't like my model legs - they are very uncooperative but I already had 3 cuties so I figured I'd give them a try ... that and I personally think the cuties have a better shape to them. The size/length is not an issue really - with shoes, you don't even notice and yes, they can wear the same pants. The small bust is my favorite as well. It looks good in clothing without being all in-your-face but it doesn't pose any better. I've had two large busts since being in this hobby and neither one had a problem with slouching - though I know some people did have a issue with that. I think the main thing to take into account is: personal opinion will vary and each doll is an individual - there are no absolutes ...

I've got several of each bust size and leg size and this is my experience

Of the 3 cutie legs I have, 2 pairs of them seem to have one leg slightly longer than the other which can pose some difficulties trying to get them to stand. Once you figure out the trick to it though, it's not much of an issue (although maybe watch them a bit closer to make sure they don't fall!). The third pair seem perfectly fine. My 2 model legs however are extremely solid standers/posers. I think they're just as beautiful as my cutie legs, just different. I like a little variety

I have two large breast girls and only my first one gives me any difficulties. She seems to constantly want to lean to the right and doesn't "lock" into place very well when doing the extreme forward or back bending with the upper torso joint. She will do it, but the slightest breath of air will snap her back to neutral (hot glue would probably help this, but I'm lazy). The second large breast girl (Mirwen) poses like a dream.
My cutie bust and small busts don't seem to have any strange slouching/leaning issues.

So I guess it comes down to certain styles perhaps being prone to certain issues, but it's not a guarantee that you'll have them. And they're not (at least for me) deal breakers, so I say order what you like!

This is the first Ive heard something bad about the model legs, I'm surprised!
On youtube Ive seen a doll with them pose wonderfully, but every one has different experiences.
Im hearing mixed things about the small bust. Some people say it makes finding shirts harder, some say it makes it easier.
Also, a few people have said she doesn't slouch that much with large bust. But I can't imagine it's a major issue.

So at the moment, Im still very interested in the model legs just torn between large bust or small.

 

I am not sure because I don't tend to have my girls wear trousers, so I don't know. The height difference is visible though. My Chole has the model legs and she is the shortest doll I own. Sadly in my group shot is she wearing flat shoes, she is stood up straight although all my other dolls have a little bit of a heal at least. My WD girl and the tallest RS girl are both wearing high heals. So it would be hard to use that as a comparison. If you put a girl with model legs and a girl with cutie legs though you can see easily that the girl with the model legs is shorter.

My concern between cutie legs and model legs is footwear. The backward curve in the cutie leg limits the choice of boots they can wear.

 

I have personally never had a problem with foot wear and all my dolls do actually share since all my dolls have 5.5cm feet. I have also had my Shushu in boots and she does have the cutie legs. On this picture you can see them in the reflection, these are the ones she wears the most:

karla-chan: Those boots look good, may I ask where are they from? I find it really hard to find boots for minifees that are not extremely huge around their leg (so they end up looking like a kind in huge wellies...)

For long long time I pop in and show a pic of my deer-eyed Cosette (eye mod Chloe). I have been trying her all the styles and this seems to work out for her!



I like the cutie legs as they look so much, well, more cute. And curvy. But it may be that the model legs are easier to find taller shoes?

I was wondering if anyone had problems with Leekeworld shoes size 5.4 I just got mine today and they are big .. ^_^

 

EbonyRain - I don't mind that she doesn't slouch but, there's some batches that come where the chest piece doesn't lock very well so they don't pose the best and I think I have one of those it's really not that big of a problem for me though.
The small bust just makes clothes a little bigger, not that the large bust makes clothes too tight either. It really doesn't look that much smaller in pictures but when I got mine I was really surprised it was much smaller than I expected.
I think I prefer the large bust now, it makes the doll look more curvy and mature but I also really like the bigger chested girls. (In dolls... )

just jumping in to put in my two cents on the model/cutie legs issue


i also have both, i have two bodies with cutie legs and one with model legs, personally i prefer the cutie legs. i love the shape and i think the posing is wonderful, i also have four or so different pairs of boots made of different materials and different heights and i have not had any issues with them fitting the cutie legs at all
The model legs are nice and i think its good to have a variety, i dont feel as confident in posing them but i think this may be due to having two cuties and perhaps i have just become more familiar with cutie and therefor model takes a little bit longer to get used too.

all the girls i currently have a large bust so i cant comment on that yet, but my incoming mnf body is going to have a cutie bust i think.

Wow!! Soo much good info here on model legs VS cutie legs.
I will admit, Cutie looks very nice but Model looks natural.
At this point Im more concerned with what legs are more stable cause I want my doll to be able to stand nicely.

I think what I will do is go over to my friends house who owns cutie leg girls and see what I think of them.
I'll just practice posing and then I will make up my mind. ^_^

As for the bust, her girls have small so I'll check that out too and see if I like it.

Hi! I was just wondering if anyone caught sight that Fairyland made a post for a "Coming Soon..new Minifee Girl Body" They posted pictures on their image blog. I'm really curious to hear what people think of the new design. Makes me think that they want to duplicate Feeple 65 girl's body in a smaller scale.

I agree with you Karrigankat the head looks like a new sculpt and looks cute! I hope Fairyland eventually come out with a Minifee Siean (it's nice that Siean is an event head, but it would be even better if she can be part of the rest of the a la carte options). I also agree with you that the legs look stubbier, but like you said it could be the angle of the photographs.

I'm curious to see if they will post the current MNF girl body next to this new one for comparisons.

The boobs definitely look bigger this time..lol!

Just went and checked those out... I'm not sure how I feel about it. It looks like they're trying to get in on the pear shaped body trend. But her calves look really short? Maybe it's just the angle of some of the pictures though. She's kinda cute!
I'm also very curious about the head that's on that body. I don't recognize it, so maybe there are some new sculpts coming too!

I think the legs look shorter and stubbier, as do the feet. The chest might be nice but I can't tell yet, I need the large bust comparisons. xD

I'm also curious about the head, I was going to say something about it but I wasn't sure if it is a head that already exists.

 

Yeah, was looking myself... Not a fan. It looks cute the way they have it posed, but they didn't show it sitting cross-legged, and the feet look SUPER fat along with their ankle joints. I do like the hip bones, but I don't know why they cut out the second torso joint. I really hope this is just a body option and not what they start putting all their MNF on because that will just completely turn me off from them (which is sad, I love MNF as they are now!). Also, that head looks like the LTF Lisa head only in MNF size. o.O

 

Technically - the small version of the F65 already exists... the Chicline - and this body doesn't have the hips or the shape to be like an F65, plus, the MNF are already a smaller version of the Feeple60 & 70, that's why they were created in the first place.

I'm not a fan of the new body though - looks almost like they've gone too far trying to please some of their customers and have come down somewhere between a Chicline and the current MNF, and it's not a particularly good look.

I think I know why they have left out the hip joint - it's not massively useful really and changes the line of the hip and waist, and the flexibility of both the Chicline and the F65, neither of which have the hip joint, is proof that you don't need the hip joint in the girls.

I can't see the face cause I have to look at it on my phone, so I can't offer any possible options!

 

I have just looked at the new body and... I like it a lot! In fact I love everything about it, apart from those big boobs. If they don't add a smaller bust, I'm not interested at all. Even the small bust is too big for my taste. Why no cutie bust? It would look awesome on this body!
What I like most are the feet (so cute!), hands, hips and the overall earthly-ness (don't know how to explain ^^) of the body.

By the way, is this a new head sculpt?

 

The new body looks pretty chunky... I like the legs actually, but I dislike the waist to hip ratio. The torso seems too long and the boobs look weird.

If they wanted a new MNF body I wish they'd just smoothed out that waist joint and not changed the proportions. Mostly I wish this doll was in the chicline height. It would make an adorable in-between size to stick a LTF head on without that model look the Chicline makes.

 

For those who are interested (and want something to compare to) I did a lot of comparisons between the female bodies that CP have done - I own everything except for an F65 girl, but I was able to use the shots for that:

Those are some big boobs XD It'll look nice in things like corsets.
In my honest opinion though, I don't like how it appears pear shaped; I don't really find that body type attractive, and a lot of BJD companies are following the trend of it; which for myself, is a big turn off.
That, and I liked the look of the hip joints, though I don't mind the MNF without.

I do not own a minifee yet. But Im going to be ordering one soon and Ive played with them in person.
So Im no expert here, but I think the preview of the new body is sort of neat!
I actually really like the legs, they're super cute! She's pear shaped but not super un-realistic.
I think she'll be a hit!

The head mold sort of looks like this mnf head I saw, it only said 'My choice' - I dunno anything about her. Could that be her?
She also looks like the Littlefee Lisa.

yeah, the cutie bust was used on the character doll, but the photos on the image blog appear to be in a large and small size only. iirc this body is also shorter (unless they added height, though it doesn't look like it).

The new minifee body is interesting. It looks like it's shorter, and the feet look smaller (but pudgier?), too. I'm not too fond of it but I can see how it can be attractive to some. What I like about it is the fused torso-hip part.

However, I always read through answers which is really benefiting me as new to the mnf world

 

I kind of like the hip-joint-less look, especially since I was never able to use that joint in any of the poses I tried.

I think someone said it resembles the Chic Line proportion a little bit? I thought the engineering seems closer to the C-line but the aesthetic has gone further away.. She looks chubbier all over to me.. Which I don't really like.. There are already enough MSD sized dolls out there, I want Minifees to stay firmly in the Slim Minis category, even though sometimes it's frustrating that they can't wear clothes made for MSDs! Overall, the body really looks like a little sister to the current Minifees to me..

I'm not so sure how I feel about that body, but I'm hoping that Fairyland will leave up the a-line body like they have left up the b-line bodies so you can choose which you want when you order. I might like these for a little more variety, but overall, I'm just not feeling the shape as much as the Minifee body now.

EDIT: Also, liking the new hand options, hoping they can interchange, but probably not, but the new feet look WAY too small in comparison to the body.

Me too. I think they will, I mean, the b-line is still available as an option, so why wouldn't they leave the a-line as an option too? I have a feeling there will be plenty of people that feel the same way and want to keep the a-line bodies.

 

Oh, I didn´t feel a new Minifee body would have been needed, as the previous one works so well. I don´t actually dislike the new one, but liked the A-line body so much better. The new body lacks the natural looking roundness in joints and the figure itself, that has always made me like FL dolls better than other companies. I feel the new body´s boobs are also way too unnatural looking even in smaller size, I don´t like them at all. I hope it will be only a new option, not replacing the excisting ones.

(And I was really surprised there were this Mami Tomoe anime doll made by Fairyland excisting! I had never known that.)

I agree with the sentiments about the feet. It's hard enough to get nice shoes for the slim feet MNFs currently have, and now they made it smaller? I'm not entirely sure if YOSD shoes would fit and if they'd look proportionate. O_o

 

Erm... no. The only thing that looks remotely like a Chicline in either body shape or jointing is the plastic fantastic boobs (the CL's big boobs look more realistic than those too), which look a bit too Dollfie Dream unrealistic to me. The jointing is definitely MNF - to me it looks like they kept the arms and top part of the torso from the A-line - except of course for the bigger boobs, and resculpted pretty much everything else. They took out the waist and widened the hips and make the legs look thicker, since the knees look like they're too small and not quite fitting properly when she's standing upright (which makes it appear like they're from the original MNF too.)

As I said previously when I posted my links, I can take shots of my Chicline girls and my A-line girls so you can compare, but the Chiclines definitely do not look anything like that new MNF.
