I'm answering the Shushu call that was made a bit earlier. (Hey, it's better to be late than to not be at all, right. :P )

Aaww, thanks so much mind you it was a coin toss for me between Chole and Shushu and in the end I ended up with the both. Well it was over a year later I ended up with my Chloe. However if you do really like both, it could be worth bringing them both home. I will probably post some enabling spam. I know the FL threads are very good for that since so many people have amazing dolls on here. It is always a joy!

I always love Shushu spam too, I think she is by far my fave FL sculpt. I am happy you like both of my girls and I almost got a Chloe instead of a Shushu too. I am happy I got them the order I did, because I think they characters they ended up with are the most suiting and I think that makes me like them more.

I LOVE her, she has such a sweet and soft face (face-up by the talented Eludys). I'm thinking of changing her to a NS Mirwen sculpt but I'm afraid to loose this face-up..!

Thanks so much, I think Shushu can have that almost cheeky look about her, which fits Ico very well. Chloe although very beautiful has a sweeter more innocent look about her, which I think that works much better for my character Ki.

It does make me happy when people let me know they like my dolls too!

karla-chan I'm glad that it makes you happy ^_^ I miss having a Shushu, maybe I will get one that is "right" at some point. The one I had, I never
really took time to make "mine" in the way I wanted, but I still love the sculpt!

 

This can happen, I got rid of my karsh because he didn't seem right in the same way my other dolls did. I think that could be because he didn't have a character set, or even any lose idea's. So maybe a Shushu would be good if you ever thought she would be really good if you had a character in mind for her. I am horribly bias towards shushu's because I do love them so much. It is the only doll I would consider more then one of.

i just have bought a shushu, from the lovely lady painting my pukifee for me. she is going to mod my shushu's nose and send her back with the pukifee faceplates. im so excited to have a shushu! she was actually the first minifee i liked, before i decided on miyu. after my ma, samson got one i never thought i'd need one and after all these years i just couldnt resist >.< so yes, loving the shushu spam! and the rest of course!

I got my Layla back from Vitta Vera today. She was on the chopping block so I sent her away to get all done up differently. Her own wig will be here early next week, but for now she's borrowing one in the same colour.

Thanks so much, I think it is easy to show her character because I know a character well since I role play as her on a Tuesday night. I saw on Tumblr that you "accidentally" bought a Shushu head. I will really look forwards to see what you do with her since I think you also have very beautiful dolls.

Thanks so much, it makes a change from her getting into trouble, or looking like she is planning trouble. I do admit I am pleased with that picture because she does look so peaceful to me too.

It was a very recent thing, I shipped him off on Wednesday and hopefully his new owner will have him very soon. So you still might see him around because his new owner liked his wig. To be honest I have been wondering for a little while about him going. I even asked for advise on my DA and my Tumblr, but I didn't on her because I know that you can get into trouble because it is advertising sale etc. I know someone who did get a marketplace ban for saying they don't think they are bonding with the doll and they might think about selling them. I can see why DA has rules like to stop people trying to push their sales, because it would get annoying. However I did go through a phase was I was unsure.

I did pack him in a box before I sent him off for a good couple of weeks, so I know it was the right thing to do in the end. I think I prefer girls dolls over all. I still like the sculpt however I think I just never came up with a character for him, and that is what made the difference in the end. I did try all kinds of things. I also really hated his body. I think if I ever do regret selling him I would buy him on the other A-line body because the problems the muscle body had just bugged me way too much. The muscle body looks amazing, but I have clothes on them most of the time any way. He was actually the worse poser out of all my dolls by far.

Plus I have used the money to get my own sewing machine so hopefully I will be able to sew for my dolls more often and spoil them a little more.

karla-chan - So pretty!! I had to do a coin toss between Shushu and Chloe too. Chances are I will end up with both as well... eventually. Also, I know how you feel about being unsure about selling a doll. I sold one (my LY Lea) a few years ago and, while I know it was the right thing - she really just didn't fit in here - I sometimes wonder that maybe I should have kept her. I still have all the wigs and clothes I bought for her, so maybe that's part of the problem...

So I know this is a weird request, but does anyone have a DES -boy-? Or does anyone have a not-so-girly DES they could put on a boy body? Friend decided that was the sculpt he liked best for his male character I want to shell. :P So I wanted to see if it would work out, or if I should push a Karsh on him instead. XD

 

I have a DES boy, but... I'm not entirely sure if he's as not-so-girly as what you're looking for. XD

Shlee, I used to have a DES boy, but sold him years ago. here's a pic of what he looked like. I wanted him more manly but oh well, beware my catastrophic faceup skills

 

Ahhh, thanks guys, that helps a lot! The sculpt really doesn't look as bad as I thought it might. XD Sent my friend the links to the pictures so he could make the final decision, but I super appreciate it.

 

Thanks so much, I had to decide between the two at first. Chloe was the first sculpt that really made me think about FL dolls, although she didn't really fit in with any characters that I could think of at the time. Although now I would say that the Shushu is my fave sculpt I don't think I have ever seen a Shushu I have disliked! I can see how easy it would be to end up with them both, since I did. It was just a matter of time really, plus if you really do like them both a lot it probably worth getting them both in the long run away.

I think the main reason I was so unsure is because I have never sold a doll before, and I didn't think I would be able to. When people talked about it, i did often say I didn't think I could have the heart to do it, but in the end I did. I know people change their minds all the time, but I do feel he didn't fit as well as the others. Plus his body really do, do my head in. I gave the new owner the wig and some of the clothes as an extra. The clothes I have kept are things my girls can wear, so I don't have much of his things left really.

I think I probably won't think what if, because it has been a long time coming that I have been unsure. Plus I think his new owner is going to love him much more then I did. Plus she is on my DA watch and things like that, so I will probably still see him about.

 

second_banshee that's a fantastic face-up especially the eyes. And it looks perfect with the eyes she's wearing. I hope you'll fall in love with her now.


Shlee I think a DES would look much more masculine if the eyes were a little bit smaller. Have you considered getting a sleeping head modded?

So I always forget to check the discussion threads, but found myself scrolling through pages and pages of this one and the previous minifee one. Thanks so much for the Shushu spam guys! I LOVE the Shushu sculpt and always enjoy all the different Shushus out there! I'll have to try to start taking better pics of my girls to post here.

My shushu, who's name will be Bronwen I think, will have sort of a bohemian style. I'm looking for flowy dresses, peasant skirts, faded flared jeans... stuff like that. YAY shopping!

 

I finally found the perfect wig for my Juri '11, Reshi! Once I'm done tinkering with it, I hope to take some photos and share her with you guys.

! I don't post often and mostly lurk, but since I sold my Ryeon, I've been jonesin for just the right Mnf.
Anne Mae, lovelovelove your Mirwen Meredith. I see what you mean about not wanting to lose that faceup..she is beautiful. I just ordered my second Mnf, a Mirwen girl too. I think this is my favorite sculpt so far. The Chloe sculpt was tempting and if I win the lottery would definitely get her too. As it is, I'm glad DDE exists.

 

From what I've heard, Sumomo shoes fit perfectly on MNFs.

*facepalm* I'm sorry I didn't list it in my post. I used styrofoam, felt, fabric, cardboard, stuffing, pawns from a broken chess set (for the feet), and lots of hot glue.

I'm so excited! My order just got paid off and DDE and should ship on Monday to me. I'm thinking of making my Nanuri 2013 a boy now too after seeing some pictures and a video on YouTube. I'm sad my girl will have to leave almost immediately for a face up, but I'm sending her to Vitta-Vera, so maybe the turnaround won't be too long.

I am very lucky in the sense that I know some really good face-up arts who are not only talented, but can get my idea on to the dolls face. I think my Shushu's face-up is one of my faves actually and it is a collaboration between two artists who did have a good play for me, to try and get what I wanted. I love it so much and would be mortified if anything happened to it. They are so patient with me and I do feel really lucky to know them, because without them I wouldn't be able to get my dolls to look how I wanted.

I think what helps though, I very often have them based on either a character of mine or a design I have in my head.

Does anyone have really good experience with Angell Studio wigs?
There's a few I like in different sizes, and I seen someone said 7/8 was too big, even with a wig cap, so what about a smaller size like, 6/7 but, I heard some people say that the hair looks longer, fuller and such with a bigger wig and that's the look i'm trying to achieve.
This will be going on a Juri08.

Thanks! It took me several months to go from concept to product with the couch. Never give up on a project you feel is worth doing.

The base is from a stryofoam cooler that I cut to shape with a wire cutter I got off amazon. Covered the shell in felt and then covered it in fabric. The cushions are just two pieces of cardboard with stuffing in between like sandwich filling, covered in felt, then fabric. Still squishy like cushions when they sit down, but stiff enough to look good. Hot glued old chess pawn pieces to the bottom for feet. The hardest part of the whole project was figuring out how to get the fabric to go on without a million seams. Maybe if I end up making an over stuffed chair to match I can actually take decent pictures for a tutorial. I've got like 3 pictures from making the couch if people are curious now though.

 

My experience is limited to one wig, but it was negative enough that I have no desire whatsoever to give them a second chance. Not only was the wig way too big, but it was shoddy quality, especially for how much it cost. (not that shoddy quality is ever really ok, but I'd be less angry if it had been a super cheap wig, the whole you-get-what-you-pay-for thing)

 

Juri 08 fits 6/7 wigs easily in my experience, perhaps with a little pulling but not as much as my Chloe, Ryeon or Miyu. I'm one of those that prefers 7/8 wigs with a wig cap though because I like the extra length and fullness. I don't have any 7-8 Angell Studio wigs to confirm if they're too big.

A lot of people said 7-8 wigs from Leeke were too big for Minifee, but I bought one just recently and it's perfectly fine with a wig cap, though it may depend on the style so maybe it's the same for Angell Studio?

Journey got new eyes today! You can't really see the color in this shot but it's a blue hue with glitter in it xD I think it suits him better than the almost-pupil-less purple eyes x_x; I'm also trying to make his new wig work!

That's great that you know great face up artists who can do produce the designs you have! I feel like that sort of collaboration can be difficult to do. In any case, I love the conceptual designs of your dolls and photos!

Jainatina, I would definitely appreciate a tutorial, but your descriptions was a great help! It definitely gave me a few ideas to attempt my own, but I think the seams problem might be a problem. thanks!!

I felt like I needed to drop by with some Jessica pics because her 1 year anniversary with me is tomorrow! Time flies! She has weathered the storm and stayed her radiant self no matter what changes have occured! Love this girl!
