Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 31

I've heard so many people say that 7-8" Leeke wigs are too big on their minifee, but I've always found the 6-6.5" too small, especially for my bobble-headed Miyu. That said, most of my 7-8" wigs do need a wig cap to fit nicely, but I like the fuller look of the larger size. A bit of bang trimming makes them look nice.
I also find their sizing horribly inconsistent. I have two wigs of the same style and supposed size, just different colours... and one fits fine while the other is face-swallowing large. Not to mention the quality seems off during their events, so many hairs falling out and odd stitching.
I ordered some Luts wigs for my F60 girl and I'm in love with the quality of them (and cheaper price!). I'm tempted to order some wigs from them for my minifee girls, but their selection of 6-7" wigs is a bit disappointing, and I'm not sure if 7-8" would be too big or not.

When I had dolls with Leeke wigs, they always wore 7-8", but then I have a Lishe and she has an enormous head! I also love Luts wigs, they are cheaper and good quality. In fact, both of my MNF boys wear Luts KDF wigs - Kid Delfs being the Luts dolls with heads approximately the same size as MNF, and I think the size itself is 7-8".

I'm really curious as to what size the new Siean Elf event head will be! I'm waiting on wig purchasing mostly for that reason since I have a ton of 6/7 wigs from old leeke events lying around and... one 7/8 wig from waaaaaay back when I had my shushu.

Well... it's actually the grey version of this red one... I really wish I still had this color though since it fits my concept for Siean a lot better!

edit: In case anyone was curious this is the Iplehouse IHW-S035 in 7-8. It fit alright but I always felt the size was a bit big and sort of... engulfed her head.

who tried Iplehosue wigs on minifees? I am eyeing few from iplehouse site that am dying to get but then worried they wont fit my chloe's head (she will be my first so am a noob in the MSD world!)

 

See my post two above yours (#63)! I would say go with the Iplehouse 6-7 size (BID). the 7-8 (JID) wigs may fit with a wig cap but some of them drown the doll in hair, so I think it would depend on style.

Here's another shot - you can kind of see that, while it's not... unreasonable, (in my opinion) it looks a little oversized for ShuShu's head. With that in mind, I'm fairly sure Chloe has a more petite head (more proportional at least, Shushu has a large forehead ). And here, the wig is pulled back too - if you actually loosened the curl she would be swimming in hair! I also have the bags clipped back because they were all over her face and were causing quite a mess!

I only buy Gold Label Monique because they are made of heat resisting fibers and I think they are the best. I like to buy them from Marcia because she always have a lot different ones in stock and she's super nice.

I have a small question. I want to order a wig from Crobidoll for my juri 08.
She will get also a wig cap because it's kinda a dark colored wig.
My question is which wig size will fit her the best?

Renske129, I have 6-7s on my Juri 08 but the ones I tried on her were monique mostly, I'm not sure about crobidoll. If you do a wig cap
though maybe 7-8 is better, depending on how big those are in that company. Hopefully someone else will know.

 

wow. lots to catch up on. my lap top died a few days ago and only then did i realize my cord was broken but the new one arrived in the mail today as did some new clothing for my minifee's! i would have come with pictures but its so windy and cold out i think i will wait a bit.

in the meantime i am planning out my incoming girls (luka and both event heads) and im so happy to see celine orders coming in! getting closer!

has anyone received the siean or yder heads yet?

I have a Yder soon. I have no idea what I have planned for him, but I will certainly spam him when he gets here. ^_^ You know, I have never liked nor been able to fit most 6-7 wigs on my minifees, including my Chloe. (I did have my Chloe in a brown Luts 6-7 wig for awhile, but it was too short for the scale of her in my opinion.)I prefer 7-8s for the look. I prefer their wigs to look fuller or longer than too short and tight. I don't think you can go wrong either way, and it really depends on personal preference.

 

Hi everyone, skimming over the thread and the wig size discussion, I'm wondering. I'm waiting on my Celine and I know there is only one around here so far but I was going to order her a 7-8 size Leeke wig but I'm thinking from what I've read that it might be too big. Would I be better off getting her a 6-7? Or will a 7-8 fit fine with a wig cap? Thanks in advance

 

This is a 6/7 wig from Leekeworld. It's definitely tight and took a minute to get it on - but it fits like a dream now and I think it works really well! There's no way this would fit with a wig cap. I'm not sure if a 7/8 would be too big or not. I kinda think it would be, at least on my Shushu...

I use 7/8 wigs on my MNF chloe with a wig cap. It depends on the wig though. Sometimes I've sewn the wig just a little tighter. To me it seems like the 6/7 are too small since I like to use wig caps. The wig is less likely to slide around and leave balb spots. Her hair looks a lot fuller and more romantic/playful with the larger wig, IMO.

About Leeke wigs if you are going for a 7/8 then you definitely need a wig cap. It will make getting the wig on a bit fussy but otherwise they are sure to slide right off.
Here is my DES in a blond "sandy brown" leeke wig I do feel this particular wig to be big style wise and did trim the bangs to be less in her face.
There is a high chance of the rest of leeke's 7/8 wigs being the same, personal preference though....

 

the 7/8 leeke wigs I had used to swim on Lily.... the 6/7 I have on her fits beautifully

 

i've just discovered the new thread since i've been sick so wanted to add to two of the discussions....

the 7-8 leekeworld wigs may be too big on the fees but at least you can make them fit, with a wig cap or trimming, but some of the 6-7s are impossible to get on! i think their sizing is just a bit too inconsistent to be predictable. i'd rather take in a wig that was too big than have one that split on me when i tried to force it on.

and ellowyne shoes don't fit the high heeled feet, but the 22" american model shoes do! i have a bunch of them i got on e*ay and they are great! there aren't as many styles as there are for ellowyne but still lots more than you can find for minifees

^ This, 100x over. I have a few 6-6.5" wigs that I can't fit on my Mirwen, who I'm pretty sure has the smallest head of the bunch. 7-8" wigs will stay perfectly with a wig cap (which I like to use anyway) and a bit of styling or trimming and they work nicely.

I decided to paint my Nanuri head today, to see what she'd look like and if I'd want to keep her or not. I don't think I've seen a painted one yet. I was really hoping I wouldn't like her so I could sell her and put the money aside to "upgrade" my minifee Chloe to an F60 (Lishe is lonely). But no, apparently that might not be meant to be. She's freaking adorable

She's stolen my Shushu's wig and my Miyu's body for now. I've added eyelashes since taking these pictures, but it's a grey day and we're quickly losing light. I wanted to snap a few quick pics and couldn't afford to wait for the glue to dry. She's even cuter with eyelashes XD

I have a question: I am waiting for a full-set Celine. In the company photos, it looks like she has high heels on, but nowhere does it say whether she comes with flat or heel feet or both. Which feet do the full-sets usually come with?

 

She's adorable! I was thinking of making mine a boy (the girls far outnumber the boys here) but I don't think that will work now that I've seen how pretty she is.

I think with the right faceup most all Minifees could be either girls or boys. Just depends on the faceup to bring out the character in the sculpt!!

 

I have to say, I lurk this thread multiple times a day, and I never get tired of seeing all your guys' dolls. It gets me super excited for my girl, even though she won't be here for a few months. All your cute spam is really helping tide me over. And I won't object to Mirwen pics. Just sayin'!

 

I find the same actually, when I am waiting for a doll seeing pictures of the doll some how makes the wait easier. Sadly I don't have any Mirwen spam, but congrats she is a very lovely girl.

My Minifees has only size 7-8" wigs. Because I find it important to have a silicone cap underneath the wig this solution is perfect for me. I only found the Angell Studio 7-8" wigs alone to be too big even with a cap, but with Leekeworld, Luts and JID size Iplehouse I am content. From Iplehouse have a 7-8" mohair wig as well as a plain 7-8" women wig, I am pleased with the size of both of them.

Isabel needs new camera time- she has some new outfits to model!

 

It's probably the lack of heavy eye liner around the bottom eye lid. The lack of that delineating black line means your attention isn;t drawn to that spot. Add to that the eye brows that don't curve down toward her nose and it reads in our minds that she is raising her eyebrows and widening her eyes.
All in all it's a fantastic face up!

But shushu eyes are deceptive, they are quite large and yet don't really look it. I think that's what makes them so awesomely diverse.

 

Ahh! I love both of your Shushus! I almost ordered one, but Lishe won the coin toss (just dropped Shale off at the artist to get her face done, hopefully she'll be home soon!) I might just have to get a Shushu next... Shale might get lonely...

I have all these ideas in my mind of other dolls to get. Not only do I want, like, ALL the minifees but I also want tons of other dolls too. Thankfully (or unfortunately) I've got a dedicated dolly fund that is entirely dried up right now. I'll have to wait several pay days before I'll be able to afford another (let alone all the clothes and wigs I need for my incoming Shushu)
