It's about 12 weeks since my order was sent to FL by DDE. I had my order on a 4 payment layway and I told them I'd pay it off early if my order had arrived. They said they just received their Jan 5th orders and that mine would be arriving soon.

My previous orders have taken about this long too. Sometimes I check DDE's website to see if they have any new listings of in-stock FL dolls. That usually means they've received an order from FL.

That's an adorable wig! Did you color it yourself? I'm looking forward to see what clothes you make for him.

 

Oh, no I didn't make the wig XD Both of the wigs in that picture are made by one of my friends though. And yes, she did colour it herself XD I requested the style and stuff.

 

OMZ she's coated in freckles! I love freckles!!! She's so lovely!

 

Prolly already answered somewhere but what size eyes does a MNF Chloe wear? And would MAKO eyes be ok in a 14 or 12?

Hi everyone!

I'm returning to the hobby after a bit of a hiatus and I've finally saved up enough for my first minifee! I'm super excited but I need some help deciding which to get. Can I see pictures of Shushu, Ryeon and Chloe? Also I would love some opinions. Who should I get for my first mnf? Those three are my favorites, but I've also considered Rheia and Miyu as well...

Sadly, I can't help with that request at this time - but I have an incoming Shushu head as well as two MNF Chloe's due to arrive this week or the next. When they do get here; I will spam them PLENTY!

One of the things I love most about the Chloe Sculpt (and really BJD's in general) is how versatile it is. Even though she's incredibly popular I haven't seen any two that even look remotely the same.

 

Sooo... Aside from American Girl beds, where do you guys get your 1/4 scale furniture? I'm thinking of converting one of the shelves in one of my bookcases into a room for my girl, but I wanted to get her a couple of items!

 

Okay, so I know we're a little short on Nanuri's right now, but I wanted to make a fair warning that higher-dome 14mms will not fit into their eyeholes well ^^;
And my 12mms are a little tiny bit gappy O.o

Does anybody else have this problem?

 

This isn't from American Girl - it's a toy bed from Ikea http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10101664/ But it fits Minifee's perfectly! (And might be less expensive than an AG bed.

 

i second the use of this bed! although i did get my dad to make the legs a wee bit shorter

I still seriously cannot decide. I was all ready to order Ryeon, but now I'm thinking Chloe would be better for my first minifee. I don't think Shushu is the right pick for first.... I know Chloe is like, ridiculously popular (and I can see why) so I'm hesitating and I feel silly about it.... AArgh! Does anyone know if Fairyland has an event coming up?

 

See, I love how different all the Chloes can look, just with different faceups.

Actually, at one point I and Kadepie both had Chloes with default faceups, and they still looked SO insanely different!

Introducing my Celine, Bonnibel or Princess Bubblegum. No face-up yet. Swamped with school, but soon.

 

Kaleai: Wow, congrats on your Celine! She's the first one I've seen now, I can't wait to see some non-default face-ups on them.

I have some exciting news, I just found a Juri 2011!! It's coming on a girl body, but I'm leaning toward making it a boy. I haven't had much time for my dolls lately, so I'm hoping this new girl or boy will inspire me to make some time! ^_^

 

not sure about events, im the worst for that sort of info...lol i never have the money to burn on it, so i try not to tempt myself. and thanks! i actually love kyle as a girl much more so than as a boy. personally, i think the sculpt is super androgynous and i CANNOT wait until she has the OE head so i can really show it off with her bright red lips and trashy 16yo goff/punk/burlesque/teen makeup. :P no but srsly...hahaha shes going to be fabulous. also, dont feel silly aobut getting a chloe. they can look very different. i had one and still miss her, but she didnt work out...actually, shes the modded chloe that Sahkmet posts on occasion. ^.~

Mirwen Owners! What size eyes do you have in your Mirwens? Do 12 mms work or are they way too small?

I was wondering if anyone has any profile pictures of their dolls? I've been on the hunt for a BJD with a cute little roman nose for a while now, and it would be so awesome if I could get a minifee with a nose like that. (my Lishe, Shale, totally does not have a roman nose, but she's super cute anyway)

 

dedjiin, sorry for the late reply, I'm always too busy to keep up with the thread The wig you were asking about is a 7" artificial mohair from Dollmore. It's a little bit tight but once you put it on, it provides a really nice fit, as you can see. I'm glad you like it

Safray, this little girl of yours is one of my favourites. I adore her gentle look every time I happen to see her

 

It depends ^^ I have a pair of 12mm glass eyes, and 12mm oval shaped acrylic eyes, and while I personally prefer the look of the glass ones, the acrylic ones fit better due to taking up the eyewell. The glass ones gap a tiny bit, but with the right putty and positioning, I don't see them :V

Shlee, I use 12 mms in my Mirwen I have some from safrin doll.

 

Kaleai - Congrats on your Celine!! She's such a cutie.

 

I don't think any of the FL dolls have a nose like that. They go for the cute and young looking factor. For that type of nose, you need to look into a company that makes realistic dolls. Or you can mod the nose yourself.

MNFs tend to have more of a ski slope nose and they do tend to be small and curvy. It is something that seems to be repeated in a lot of their dolls as well, so I very much doubt you would see one with a "roman nose" I don't have many good examples of profile pictures. This was the only one that I could find that shows the FL curve/ski slope nose:

 

I use 12mm Eyeco Soft Glass eyes in my Mirwen.

The Eyeco Soft Glass have whites that are a little larger, and they are also a bit flexible, like a rubbery hard cooked egg, so they adjust to the eyewell better and don't gap.

 

There are very VERY few dolls with roman noses, simply because Asian Aesthetic means big eyes, small mouth and long pointy slopey nose. Many of my dolls have had to be modded down to have more natural human noses, or I feel like they're doing a Mosquito impression.

 

Shlee - I use 12mm enchanted doll eyes in my Mirwen and they look fantastic on her! I'd post a picture but I'm on my phone atm, but my Flickr has lots of pictures of her

 

Girrl (love your username btw,) I think the MNF Carl sculpt may have something similar... while not a Roman nose per say, I think with a little bid of modding, it can be rather aquiline ^^; Sadly, it's still pretty much a smooth slope.
While this is not my picture, I hope it's okay to post this..

 

that and almost all of them have a variation on the heart shaped face! a modded nose is your best bet for something "unusual" like a roman nose

My girl came today! Or well the head did! I purchased her from Ban Sidhe and she came with this AMAZING custom faceup! These aren't her actual eyes or hair but she still looks adorable! *dies with happiness

Thanks soo much! Her wig is from Monique and will be more of a straw blonde and her eyes are from Mako Eyes they're a nice jungle green. That's at least the first attempt. She may reject that though and we'll have to try again! :P

I just can't get over how amazing she is! I love the faceup Ban did! The freckles are to DIE for! :P

Yeah I think your best bet would be either hybriding another head like Withdoll, (they do slightly more realistic MSDs) and having that modded, or modding a Carl head. If you don't want to do it, it's easy to find someone who can.

 

I love Espe's faceup!

 

Bonnibel's Face-up. I love it but in some places it's uneven so evenually it'll need to be redone. Plus the body needs to be blushed now. My work is never done.


What do you think?

 

Anyone think there is a chance there will be another Fairyland event soon? I want to order a boy body, but I don't want to do it and then miss an event. :P

 

Probably not till June or July for their summer event!
