Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 29

I love this idea! She reminds me of the creature in Pan's Labyrinth with eyes in the palm of his hands.

I'm coming out of lukerdom to ask for help choosing eyes for my Luka. I keep waffling back and forth on which colour to order her: medium grey or a warm chocolate brown sort of colour. She'll keep this sandy blonde wig:

 

I have a huge softspot for blond hair and soft brown eyes but that's just MY opinion

 

i think brown would be really cute with her color scheme too especially if she is keeping that face up

 

Lentil - Aww, she is lovely. Agree with Octobercrow and Ban Sidhe that brown would match the color scheme really well.

 

Depending on the color and light reflecting properties of the eyes the grey might really stand out in her face, which may or may not be what you want.
I'm personally leaning toward the brown to go with her soft color scheme.

 

I also think that a deep, warm brown is just the ticket!

 

I vote for brown eyes too, but I have to admit, that this combination is my weakness (so it's a bias opinion).

 

i love brown eyes too, but med gray is easier to photgraph... just a thought.

 

I'm having eye-problems too, I can't find nice eyes that would fit my Juri08s eyeholes well, the domes are always too high! >_>
Can anyone recommend some eyes (glass or urethane or smth) that would have low domes?

I recently bought some Urethane MakoEyes from Nine9Style for my two Supergems (both 14mm) and my Teenie Gem (12mm) and I'm really impressed with the quality. they're pretty low dome, but they're amazing quality and I'd order more from them if I could.

 

Whilst I am a huge fan of grey eyes, I think your girl definitely would be gorgeous with brown eyes, Lentil! Maybe a lighter honey-brown would photograph better than a dark chocolate?

 

I took this earlier today for flickr - it's my current 2013 dolls and seeing as how five of them are Minifees (though only three have bodies at the moment) I thought I'd post here as well. Anyone else care to show their current family ?!?

 

Cage looks very good from the side.
And his c-line body makes me wonder if I should attempt to get a future boy on the same.... I want a Ruth but can't decide between the minifee bodies.

 

I gotten Captured In Glass eyes with low dome and they work well. I think she'll even make the sclera bigger so there's no gapping

Since there's been some Seorin spam, does anyone have one in WS perchance? I'm considering getting him in WS to be my Akihiko Sanada cosplay doll. It's either him or a JID Ryan and if Seorin doesn't work out I may just get him in NS for another character. Though I have a feeling he might be perfect in WS.

I got a camera for Christmas also! So I'm going to start using flickr more and hopefully joining in this thread more rather than just lurking. Love seeing everyones' dolls.

Goodness ForeverVirginia! I think I have just been won over by Miyu's. That picture was the push I needed - specially next to Cage, he's so darn handsome. I think out of all the male sculpts him and Ruth look more mature - it's great!

 

your miyu is lovely! i'd be really temped by the sculpt if i needed a 4th girl (which luckily i don't)

 

Has anyone tried putting LittleFee feet onto a Minifee? Are their ankles at all comparable?

Your family pic is awesome, Ban Sidhe! Everyone looks so amazing, even the bodiless ones.

I'd love to show of my current collection as well, but last time I did a full group picture it took forty-five minutes just to set up! And it wasn't nearly as nice looking as yours. Best I take smaller group shots. It might be time for an updated MNF group shot, though.

 

No - the MNF feet are attached with hooks while the LTF feet are magnets. Plus the size difference between them is considerable.

I did originally plan on sharing a shot of my entire collection, but I haven't taken a particularly recent one - so here are two of my MNF with their other Lishe sisters:

I was more wondering if switching out the ankle joints and the feet would be possible, as the size difference is what I'm after. I've tried Little Junior feet and they were fine, but I'd like something a tad smaller for variety.

 

I'm not about to take the feet off to say 100% yes but I pulled the ball joint out of my MNF and my daughter's LTF and the LTF ball does fit in the MNF socket but it looks wrong ... I guess it's up to you though ... sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

 

I just got my first (and probably only) Minifee a few weeks ago.

She's a major hybrid, lol. She is an A-Line body with the Small Bust, B-Line hands, and an AoD Ni Ni head.


The picture is kind of crappy. >< I just had the head sitting on the neck for the sake of the picture, because I wasn't even sure I wanted her to have that head or not yet.

But so far I got most of her old body blushing off. Some of it stained, so I need to sand a few pieces. I de-yellowed the head, and it's just waiting for the weather to be nice so I can paint it.

I really like that outfit on her, but it's made for big Dollmore Judith body, and it just slides right off of her. *Sad pandah* So now I have to figure out something else.

 

Does anyone know what size elastic Minifees use for restringing?

 

Mine came with the 1.5mm stuff in her. It seems to work pretty good.

I'm not sure if anyone has asked this, but...has anyone considered making the 2013 MNF Nanuri head into a male character? I know we're all basically waiting to see a blank (unless one has popped up somewhere and I'm woefully behind...), but I'm wondering whether that sculpt could be used for a boy?

Kielin: Could you take a picture comparing your girl hybrid to your Judith, nude? I'm body shopping for my Minifee girls. They all need a different body. Because I am just so picky? D:

I'm getting two and the first is actually going to be a boy The other will most likely be a girl. I was thinking fraternal twins or something~

Here you go. I took one with all my 1/4 sized dolls.

The heads for my hybrid and Magical Angel doll are at my studio, and I haven't gotten the head for the Peakswoods in yet, so I just took the Judith's head off as well.


From Left: Dollmore Judith White Skin; Fairyland Minifee A-Line Small Bust White Skin; Magical Angel Large Bust White Skin; Peakswoods FoB Natural.

I think my Minifee body is kind of yellowed, so a new one might work with Dollmore White. I'm getting a non-yellowed Pukifee Faceplate in soon, so I can check the match with that when it comes in next week. The Magical Angel body is their "cream white", so their "pure white" should match better. And the Peakswoods is a little lighter then Fairyland natural.

 

Ahhh, thank you so much! I was dying to get a comparison of Judith and now I finally have one! This is really informative for me and I thank you a hundred million times! Truly! The body is SO differently proportioned from a Minifee!

Yeah, my first two MSDs were both Judiths, so when I got the Minifee I was like "AMG, so tiiiiiiny". xD

The new Judiths (The white skin ones and the tan one) use the same size head as a Minifee, but they are much more adult looking. So it's probably possible to hybrid them with one of the more adult Minifee heads.

 

Sweet! I look forward to seeing your pair. I've been shopping for wigs for my Luka girl and (hopefully) Karsh Boy, and I'm torn over whether to get a 'boy' or 'girl' style wig for my Nanuri. (I want to get all three wigs together to save on postage...fingers crossed I can get wigs that work for all of them from one company.)

Lol thats funny, I'm waiting on a Karsh boy right now and I'd planned on getting a Luka girl in the future XD Wig shopping is always so tricky isn't it? The shipping always kills it for me =/ Good luck in your search though! I'll be sure to post pictures when my Nanuri's come in

Mwa ha! I was just thinking the other night while browsing Flickr that there are A LOT of people planning a Luka/Karsh pairing for their 2013 doll goals! Almost made me a little paranoid. What I like about Karsh, is that he has a very flexible brooding-elfishness (that's totally a real word...right?). And Luka, well, she's just adorable.

Cas is a great name for a doll - it can be short for so many things! Castiel, Cassiel, Cassie, Castle, Casablanca...well, you get the picture.

 

^ Also short for 'Cas-per', which is actually my name without the hyphen. I get the 'Cas' nickname a lot. I recommend it to all doll owners. It could also be used for 'Caspian'! That name always sounded very 'aquatic' to me!

Kielin: Thanks so much for all the help and additional info! My Shushu vampire is coming with a b-line body, but because its so close to the a-line, I'm looking for other options for her. She's a busty werewolf. My other choice is Withdoll. How do you think NS would match dollmore, if you don't mind me poking more questions at you?

 

Kielin - Do you think a hybrid of a MNF body and a Peakswoods FOB head would work? Is their neck circumference comparable at all? I'm really dying to know, because I never found someone who had a MNF and a FOB. I would love to make a hybrid of a MNF body and a FOB head!

NatGreyAngel - Oh really? Lol Well mine aren't going to be a pair, they'd be filling existing characters in my various storylines
I think both are pretty versatile, I've seen both sculpts as girls and boys.

ForeverVirginia - MoC has such nice eyes don't they? They never seem to have the ones I want in stock though. I was hoping to get a few pairs for my incoming MNFs but I guess I've got awhile to wait since they shouldn't be ready until around April or so XD

Btw who else is getting the MNF Nanuri?

 

I took a picture. Dollmore Judith NS, Peakswoods NS, and a PukiFee NS on top of them.
Peakswoods isn't too bad, you could just blush with a little pink and you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference anymore. Dollmore however, is suuuuuuper light. Dollmore is a good match to BBB/RS NS, I tried a friends head on my Judith body once, lol.
I also have IMPL Real Skin, but that is waaaaaay off, so I didn't put her in the picture.

I usually just get what I want and blush to match lately. I've had a lot of success with it so far. Though the toughie is going to be the WS PKF faceplate I got for the NS PKF body. lol I could only find the faceplate I wanted in WS. ><

Not sure yet, my FoB head tracking says it will be here today. So once it gets here I can take some pics for you.
