Honestly, I really do think that if I end up getting a Chloe, its because of all the pics xD She is really pretty. Does Fairyland do layaway or is DDE the best way to go?

 

I agree! That's the reason I decided to get a Chloe!!! Adorable, though I still think I MIGHT get a Miyu. But FL doesn't do layaway, if you want to do layaway DDE would be the best way (other than second hand).

I took a big group photo of all the dolls I have that are currently on bodies. Two of my Minifees got left out but there are still a few in the photo!

 

Yea when I tried looking, it seemed like DDE was the best way to go. Omg, I am really excited for it xD

I've been a lurker for a while..

Alex is now Jack! Jack Frost! Basically,he is a teenager who's stuck a teenager..Died in like the 1800 after him and his sister went skating on a frozen lake. His sister was standing on a block of ice that was beginning to melt so he threw her out of the way and he fell threw and drowned. And he woke up 1994 on the ice,and his hair turned white,his eyes crystal blue,and everything he touched turned to ice. His main element was ice and ice have him powers..Basically. So anyways..Here is what I have so far of him:

@ dollyb: I don't want to sound like a jerk or anything but could you please add a spoiler alert to your boy's backstory? I haven't gotten the chance to see the movie The Guardians yet and according to my boyfriend your story for him is very similar to Jack's from the movie. Thanks!

 

CuteOne- That's who it's based on I seen the movie,too. And my mom told me he'd make a cool BJD so I got to thinking. :P But I am working in changing him up a little bit. Like,he's not a guardian,he can be seen,only comes out at night,stuff like that..

Thank you! I just love Seorin's face. His eyes are 14mm. They're imperfect glass ones from DDAnne, I bought tons of them a couple years back because they were so cheap and I haven't found any real flaws in any of them!

pokori: Hm. Try smearing a thin layer of hot glue over the bottom of his feet. You'll have to redo it every once in awhile, but it will help. It'll need to be super even, though. Use the glue on the bottom, smear it carefully with a swatch of paper. That should help and be less maintenance than sticky tack.

 

Hmm... you could try sticky tack, I have done that before in a pinch. Or if you don't mind seeing it, some non-slip shelf liner for him to stand on?

 

Sticky tack will work, but it will stick... to everything. I would try hot glue sueding the bottom of the foot first if you just need a little extra grip. Also, I always hot glue suede the ankle joints.

 

Well it's so much of him getting to stand its more of trying to get him to stand on one foot. Or bending over to touch his toes. He can stand quite well and so the standard simple poses but I wanna do a little more with him

 

Definitely, you need ankles that are as solid as possible. Cheating with sticky tack might actually help, but posing him on a flat, hard surface with sueded feet bottoms might also help. The knees also needed to be sueded solidly. And the hips. If all else fails, then try tack?

 

If I may - I really recommend -not- sueding hip & cups with hot glue sueding. This messed my girl up quite badly in the posing department. I ended up taking it out and putting in soft moleskin or pilver, there instead. It works like a dream. But yes, sueding the ankles is very important for stability, I've found.

If you would like to try moleskin, head to your local drug store or big box store, and look in the foot care department. I use "Super Moleskin Plus" from Walgreens, the thin sheets, a package of three, for about $3. Best investment I ever made

 

Yes, you're right, sueding with glue can definitely be tricky and have those results! I sueded my hips though for The Banshee and they're okay, but I used a very SMALL amount of glue in that area. Very good point to bring up, though!

 

Question: I'm going to be taking my girl to a doll show, and I have an 18" doll stand that is normally used for American Girl esque dolls. I don't like it.. it's too large and it pokes out too far underneath her clothing, making her look hunch back under her clothing. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a Minifee stand? What about an idea for a home made stand? I'd appreciate any input/solutions you might have! Thanks!

I botched my first attempt on a Minifee, too! Then, my mom wanted me to do her Soom Ai's wrist, so I had to learn how to spread lightly. I'm sure the work on my hips isn't a hundred percent perfect, but it works way more functionally than my last attempt!

I'm also with the moleskin as a good idea.

 

You could look for a saddle style stand if she'll be wearing a dress, and I've foud the regular stands for porcelain dolls usually work fine. As a plus, I've never paid more than a dollar for a stand, the thrift stores around here have tons of them! Though some are still attached to dolls...

 

Well! I haven't been here in a while xD Re: Sueding- I've never had to suede so far- I've got the cutie legs and a large bust on my Juri/Rena's body, and the most I've had to do is restring... and boy, she gets some good poses going sometimes. I'm sorry you guys have had to suede/otherwise =[

Speaking of my lovely Rena, I bought a new camera recently, and took Layla out to play outside today.

Okay I sueded the ankles right above the ball joint and still nothing I might have to try Glowbee's advice and invest in some moleskin

 

My tip for sueding especially on MNFs it seems to work out a lot better for me if I just put a dot of hot glue, stick my finger in water and mush it flat. Just a few drops per joint and it can do wonders. The best part of the dot method is it is even easier to just pick out if you don't like it or if you mess up! I definitely suggest giving it a try. Its much easier on the tricky parts of small joints as well.

Hehe thank you! Yes, I did all his faceup work He came to me modded, but I refined a lot of it when I got him because the mods were not up to my own personal standards. So I went to town and smoothed everything out and gave him a new face and he's the elfy boy I want him to be now! xD

Thank you so much I tend to get a little insecure over my line work, but I'm really glad people seem to like it I know it's a little different and barring the lines of more "realistic" then most common faceups, but it works for me! Mirwens really do make wonderful boys don't they?

Everybody got their picture taken today! In more relevant news, I finally painted my Chloe. I decided to keep her sleepy-style and I've written it into her story. She can still see quite well... having the ability to form eyes on any part of her body, and all.

Hey guys I have a question, I'm hoping it's Okay to ask.. but I'm dying to know.
If you order during a FL event and want an event item, does using "mileage points" count, or do you HAVE to pay with 'real monies '?
I could probably look on FL but I'm trying to avoid the site. I keep refreshing the account page, looking for a dolly update.
I'm also tempted to buy thing's I can't afford. xD

 

Hey guys, it's about time for me to order my Chloe and I want to get her in the large bust but I'm worried it will be harder for me to find cloths that fit her properly with such a larch bust. Would you guys recommend going with the small bust instead or are there lots of options for the large bust and where can I find them? The clothing list for MNF is rather short and hardly any specify if they are large, small or cutie bust x.x Thanks so much guys, I can't wait to join the MNF community for realzies instead of just lurking!~ xp

Mistress_Of_Burden, I don't think you'll have any problem with the large bust? I actually have a large bust Chloe -- well actually I share her with ForeverVirginia -- and I love her. Haven't really encountered any problems that I remember.

In fact, might as well show a picture of her, here's Nika...

 

I agree with Fonduedragon - I have three girls - one cutie, one small and a large breasted they swap clothes and havent really noticed any problem with clothing the big bewbed one lol

 

i have all three bust sizes just for variety and unless you are getting really fitted clothing (like corsets with no lacing) it shouldn't be a problem. i find minifee are so narrow across the shoulders anyway that finding tops big enough is not really a problem

 

I have 7 (soon to be 8) slim MSDs and only 2 of them have the same body the rest vary with their sizes a little. MNF wise I have the cutie bust and I have the small bust, however my double jointed RS girl and my WD girl have bigger busts and are closer to the size of the large MNF bust. For the most part they share clothes with little issue.

There are a couple of exceptions though and it depends on the fit/ cut of the clothing. For example I have some dresses from Nine9 Style that are pretty big on the bust and don't fit my smaller busted girls very well. However they fit my larger busted girl great. I also have a couple of outfits that fit my smaller busted dolls better then my larger busted dolls. So it is not always possible for them to share everything, but a lot of clothes I have I share with my dolls. So a lot of clothes will do either bust.

So get which ever bust you feel is best for the character (if you have a character) or what works best. The only thing you probably need to know is that the larger bust has issues sometimes with popping out of place and lifting up. Not all of them have it but some do.
