Male MNF Spam? Not a great pic but here's one I got of Jack at the meet yesterday.



So, do you think that vest works? I didn't want him shirtless, but I'm not sure if the vest looks skeezy on it's own.

We should have done an all-MNF photo at the meet, Adina and Lena were there, plus several others!

I finished my girl's faceup on Friday. Second ever faceup.
I'm feeling really meh about it though. It's not how I wanted her to look at all. :/ I'm hoping that I'll feel better about it when I get her some good 14mm purple glass eyes. These 16mm blind ones just look ridiculous on her.

You guys are going to hate what I do to that beautiful body when I get it. I am going to try to get the scarred chest, but if I can't... I am going to have to create the scars across Rillian's heart and the roots and vines that are growing from it. I will try to get the scarred other arm too... but if I can't I will have no choice but to tear into him to make the marks that he has inherited from his father and the evidence of what he is, a spirit of the forest and the life of the land. Rillian should be... interesting, but that body is going to suffer before he can exist. Now I need stupid money so I can afford to get it and do horrible things to it, LOL. All the boy spam is making me wish I had it already.

Hey, I'm trying to make something for a friends mnf but theirs is male and mine is female. Do both types use the same feet? I would imagine so but before I go and cut the pattern out I wanted to be sure.

Sometimes it's wonderful to catch up on pages and pages of spam! Fantastic spam from every single one of you guys! All that boy spam is really making me anxious to have my Karsh done and home already - and the Mirwen's are really tempting me (and I know I can't right now!).

I'm SO excited that my girl's heel feet arrived today! I don't have any heel-wearing spam to post just yet, but I can at least confirm that Lorifina shoes fit the heel feet really well! There is a teeny bit of gapping at the sides, but my girl can still stand in them like a champ!

Rio99- DO IT! We need more DES 'round these parts! Here's a little spam from Saturday for some inspiration!



One of the things I love most about DES is that it's such a versatile mold. Depending on what kind of faceup you give him/her, it can portray any emotion very well IMO.

 

Guys, have you ever felt like you just can't look at your minifee? I feel like I'm about to have a nervous breakdown. Her sleeping faceplate is scaring the crap out of me. I don't have the funds to do the mod right now but I can't even look at her blank with closed eyes makes me nervous . . .ehhh. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way.

She was OE but too big for me and I hadn't been doing faceups the so she only had a few colored pencil lines on her face. I hated walking past her !!!

I picked up a Breakaway head that just happened to have a faceup that I think will work perfectly for the Breakaway head I already have -- lol so I guess my Breakaway's character Lou is getting a faceup sooner than I expected! 8D
And since I'm talking about my character Lou, I caved and got an Aileendoll Rot dragon to be his little pet~~ I can't wait; as soon as I get those two together, photos must happen 8D

 

@zetoast - Jealous I want a Breakaway head too.

Although I am excited to see my Rheia with open eyes. I might be able to swing for a new addition after christmas too but we'll see.

 

There is a new girl in the Doll Corner, I'd like to introduce, Nicolette.

LOL! Well, if she's still got her faceup... she wasn't painted to look "sleeping" but more like "awake but caught with her eyes closed". So maybe that's part of it?

And wow am I bad at sewing. I just made yet another attempt at a t-shirt. One with a scooped neckline. I ended up with yet another almost off-the-shoulder shirt. I guess I'll try again some other time.

 

I usually pose my sleepyface dolls into more sleepy positions! But if they're just sitting around in their sleeping faces it totally starts to weird me out. The only time I do them -not- sleeping is if it's because of a closed-eyes shot... kinda like this one:

Yay! I've been waiting for her introduction since the sneek peek on Flickr.

Today was a Happy Mail day. My 2 yr old granddaughter was here and she gets just as excited about packages as me because she has learned that they usually contain dolly stuff. We got a cute steampunk outfit for an OT doll and............................... a beautiful Rheia head. I just can't get over how pretty she is! I'm waiting for a proper wig before I post pics of her.

 

I actually modded my girl's sleeping head and later sold it on the MP because I didn't use it much. It never creeped me out per se, I just kept it in the box when I wasn't using it. I have a hard time imagining a character whose eyes are perpetually closed for my dolls, but more power to those that do.

 

my Kieran is a sleeping head kyle. Her eyes being closed has never bothered me, prolly would not have bought her if that was the case... Usually her closed eyes give an expression of exasperation, which in fitting with her character, suits her. She is also a dancer and i believe that having her eyes closed only served to better her connection with the music. She does burlesque, so it works. ^^

i eventually plan on getting an OE head for her, but so far has been deemed unnecessary as i get a lot of emotion from her as is.

Ravenwolf, does your Karsh have the default faceup? Sometimes I can't tell.

While I'm here, allow me one question about the feet: Can the normal feet be swapped for the high heeled ones easily? I imagine its like Pukipuki hands with their magnets? Or like Littlefee hands, but without twisting first?

I'm sooo in love with MNFs and obssessed with the idea of my hopefully-soon-to-be Rheia (and Karsh and Mirwen!) that I can't even get excited about the new Lati Yellow release... I guess its no more 16cm tinies for me, ever. Not that I mind

 

about the feet - yes, just pull the flat ones out a bit, grab the elastic and switch the feet. it's super easy

nonaly, yes my Karsh has the default face-up, but it happened to be a particularly dark and smokey looking one and I loved that about it so that's why I purchased him. There were two up on the marketplace at the same time, and the one I got happened to have that nice smokey look so I chose him over the other. It seems like that kind of thing often happens with mnf and that's really fun too!

 

@nonaly When I recieved my Ryeon, she had her lower legs and feet part unstrung. Now I only owned two MSD's so far, so I don't know how it's like with tinies, I've never seen ones so far either, but lordy did I struggle to put the leg parts in my MNF You sort of have to twist the foot around a bit, to get it off, or pull it to the side and get the elastic off. Kind of hard to explain, lol. But I think it's different then puki's and LTF's.

On the other side, congrats if you're ordering any time soon!!!

 

I was going to ask Ravenwolf the same thing! Karsh has one of the few default faceups that I really love.

And in answer to your question about high heeled feet, I don't find it all that easy. (Sorry Ban). They don't have magnets like Realpuki, Pukipuki, Pukifee, and Littlefee. They are elastic strung. Maybe it depends on how tightly your MNF is strung, but I found it difficult to change out the feet without someone helping. The elastic loop has to be kind of "buttoned" onto a knob on one side of the feet. See the picture below:



The leg elastic is strong and has quite a bit of tension. I was afraid that I'd miss the knob and have the elastic go zooming up into the leg necessitating a retrieval operation. Foot changing won't be a frequent thing around here even though I do have a beautifully blushed and pedicured pair of high heel feet to use.

I have a new MNF body on order for Shannon and when it arrives I'll probably use the high heel feet from Morganna's body for a while so I can send the new, flat feet out for a pedicure. Ban Sidhe has me addicted to her manicures and pedicures! They are SO beautiful.

I love it too!

 

So lately I have been obsessing over an OT doll so much that I forgot I had my Rheia coming in a few months lol may I have some rheia spam pleas?

 

Thanks everyone for your kind answers! And Wovenflame, that picture is really helpful, thanks for posting it. (I really love the pedicure and I'm searching for a 'manicure faceup-artist' already ^^) It does look and sound complicated though. I'm not sure I'd want to mess with it and risk the elastic to snap back into the body or someting similar.

The only reason why I'd even consider high heel feet was because I read somewhere that otherwise the MNF can't wear and/or stand in boots and high heels at all. Something about the normal feet being too wide, I believe?

Edit: I always second the request for Rheia spam! Please spam away! (Rheia is to me, what Chloe seems to be to many: my absolute dream doll!)

It seems kind of odd to me now, that at first, when I got into MNF's I disliked the elf/vampire look and the white skin was not for me (or so I thought!). Now I want all my MNF to be elves in white skin - LOL!
