Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 25

Aug 3, 2012

    1. Oh, is someone asking about mixing Tiny Fairies and MNF? That's my specialty ;)

So here's the thing. TFs are taller and stockier than MNF, but they are thinner than the average "non-slim" MSD. They are slightly bigger than Unoa, and they fit Unoa clothes better than MNF do (in my opinion, because they fill the clothing out more and I don't like the baggy look). Here is a comparison pic taken by someone else, it's quite useful.

Here is a pic of my dolls, two are TFs and two are MNF:

Basically the BFs are noticeably bigger, but it's not that bad unless you really need them to fit perfectly together. Mostly BF and MNF can share clothing, unless the item is tight in the chest area on the MNF; in those cases, it will very hard to get the TF into it. They both can comfortably wear anything made for Unoa.

    2. I was gonna type a lot of things about DDE vs. FL direct orders, but I decided my opinion doesn't matter much so I'm going to not get involved. XD

Bluh, I was going to get off my butt and take conflict-y spam of Fionha and Jamie, but my grandparents are here to visit and I'm hermiting in the basement to try to adjust. >.< So have some conciliatory spams instead?

Ahh, I had sold all of my dolls back in 2010 and I never owned an MNF or even considered ordering from DDE until recently. I would rather buy direct from FL, but I would also rather do the lay away. Too bad FL doesn't do that. x.x

    4. Oh hm, DDE vs FL... I dunno. I have never had a problem with DDE. I have made several FL orders over the years, and they were all great except for one. I got a Seorin whose headcap falls off (the ridges are too small and don't contact the slots they are supposed to fit into), whose hole for the neck mechanism is too big (his head bobbles), and who is covered with snowflakes =__= I was mucho disappointed. That was in late 2010 I think. But the other doll I got in that order was fine, and so were the other dolls I got over the years.

    5. Bronzephoeniz, sounds like it's a luck of the draw then I guess. This makes me very apprehensive about ordering through DDE as I have HORRIBLE luck!

    6. bronzephoenix - OOOh they're all so cute! :D

inverinate - That's such a gorgeous picture. I've been following their photostories, is this a hint of what's to come? *is hopeful*

    7. Oh goodness this DDE business is really making me nervous that I placed a doll order with them. :?

    8. @bronzephoenix - Whicj of your dolls are MNF's? I can't tell from the photo.

    9. I'm with inverinate on the "I could say a buncha stuff, but it won't really make a difference or add anything to the argument" so.....

      Have some spams instead! :)

I didn't realize the big fees would be so jealous of the tinies' goodies from DollyDetails...they are so mean!

    10. Starting from the right, there is MNF Marcia, MNF Luka, TF Sarang, and TF Jasmine.

    11. I want a woosoo girl!!! :D She's going to be my Chloe's partner in crime!!! Time to start saving. I cannot wait to bring her home.

    12. I was thinking of perhaps having a bluefairy head on a MNF body. Since , even though I quite like the bluefairy body I didn't have that huge click that I had with the MNF bodies. I have yet to see them in reality but from the photos I already love the MNF body. It's kind of the same click that I had with Reika's head (Reika is my Bluefairy Robin.)

Ah , I remember your Jasmine and Sarang from the Bluefairy threads, I didn't know you also had minifee's.
I am considering going for either a Marcia , Chloe or Miyu so it's nice to see an owner picture too.~
I'm glad that this means that I won't have to put them into seperate groups. And it's also a plus that they both fit into unoa clothing. Since that means that any Minifee that I'll get will be able to share with my Reika.

Thank you for answering my questions like this. You both were a great help. :)

    13. YES. My check got here. I can order Karsh! I keep waffling about resin color, though... But I think I want to go with natural.

YAY! Karsh is ordered. :'D I went with natural skin, since WS looks kinda vampire-y to me. Eeeeee. Happy times!

    14. Quetz - Congratulations! High five for adding one to the Karsh clan!

    15. *High five!!!*

Omigosh. So excite! I can't wait 'til he gets here. Do you know where I can see what the processing time for FL is? 8U

    16. Great spam, everyone! Sorry I wasn't around to comment on all of it. ;~; So many beautiful dolls!

      Quetz
; Awesome to hear! 40-50 days is average wait if you've ordered direct from Fairyland, but it may take a little longer due to event? But... my NS Mirwen and WS body are already on "before shipping" in just around 3 weeks, so... I guess it just depends. I hope your wait won't be too long!

    17. Do the a la carte dolls come with the neck piece or do you have to buy it separate? I feel like that's a dumb question, I just want to make sure before I end up with two neck parts..... lol

    18. All the dolls come with their neck piece. :)

    19. Oh good! I'm glad I won't have to wait FOUR MONTHS, like I'll probably have to for my Soom doll. XD

And it's a good thing the a la carte dolls come with the neck piece, because I wouldn't have realized it if they didn't!

    20. Ahh okay! I thought it was some optional mess to be able to take the heads off easier. I wish I could order sooner than the end of September!!!! :...(

Everyone else's lovely pictures will have to do for now though!~ :)

    21. Hey I have a quick question...does anyone know what the size is of the metal s hooks in the mnf neck piece? My one boy body just never cooperates and every time I've restrung that one, it ends up too tight on one side and too loose on the other, and this hasn't' happened with any of the other 3 bodies I have restrung. I noticed that the s-hook in this one's neck is really really bent and messed up on the part around the string and I think it doesn't hold the string properly so it seems like a new one may help. Wondered if anyone else has gotten one from a hardware store or something. Thanks!!!

    22. I think most of my girls were ordered during Fairyland events (one for the Juri 10 head, and most recently their last event with the 10% discount) and even with the event I didn't wait past their 50 business days processing time they list on the a la carte page (ordering direct).

I've been hearing that some of the Feeple 60 orders are on "before shipping" status only a week after being ordered! Looks like they were on the ball this time and started making things in advance.

    23. *rolls around* Omigosh that makes me even more excited! I might have him before school starts! Unlikely, but still :D

    24. Oh my gosh, what an adorable picture!! It makes me miss my pukifee, they look so cute with minifees!

Oh, and thanks for all the conflict-spam, you guys! I really enjoyed looking at it! I miss the pciture-theme challenges a few people were doing a while back, so I'd love to see more themes if anyone can think of them!

    25. i have a minifee soo dark elf. she's my lolita girl. as far as loralei is concerned there is such thing as too much lace, ribbon or frufru. will post a pic as soon as i figure out how to post them.

    26. I like the name Loralei! The Lorelei is a great poem, one of my favorites!

    27. Thank you!! :) now im excited!! Been drawing multiple ideas for my character :D

    28. Hmm i was considering doing layaway on dde but.... not too sure now :( little hesitant now.
Does any have a minifee girl with a gothic, cute face up? :D

    29. i request some woosoo spam please!!!!!!

    30. Ettore will show up for some Woosoo spam.

:3 He's such a cute lil guy... He had to put up with his sister Myca.

    31. As someone who no longer owns a doll from Fairyland, I hope that I am not stepping out of place by putting in my two cents. There is a thread where people post about the problems that their Fairyland dolls have. You can find it here. While a cracked ankle and a hair embedded in the face are obviously problems, depending on the pock marks, Fairyland considers that normal. The same goes for the snowflake marks that some of their dolls also have.

What your friend needs to do is take photos of these errors, and send those photos to Denver Doll's email. DDE will then contact Fairyland to see what can be done. Yes, DDE should have noticed these errors, but in my experience (no matter who it is) sometimes these things go unnoticed. Personally I think it's very important for your friend to contact them and let them know of these problems so that maybe this experience won't happen to someone else...if they simply check better next time.

edit: I just realized that you already said your friend has contacted them. Sorry!

    32. Guh I was very happy with my Karsh's face up till I started on her eyelashes! I was happy with the eyeliner and even ok with the eyebrows, but the lashes!! Now I need to start all over again!
      Cheer up spam? Pretty please!

    33. Cheer up Elcia! :)

    34. *hugs* Yeah, eyelashes are evil, aren't they! I sneakily draw them on in water colour pencil first, cause I find it easier to follow the lines with paint then :aninja:

As for spam, here is Nyne - I haven't gotten a whole lot of photos of her lately, hoping I will get some this weekend though!

    37. I have never ordered though DDE because i have heard they are much better to deal with if you are in the US and i live in the UK. But i know dealers don't always check the dolls before they go out. I ordered a doll via a dealer who had rabbit ears, and i got two left ears. They did fix the issue for me and sent me 2 right ears so i was lucky enough to get two sets. So some of them will fix issues you have. It is worth asking them.

However i have had problem with dealers and i had a dealer mess me about when i tried to order my Shushu, so i went direct to fairyland. Going direct went much smoother IMO. You do have to wait longer from a dealer as well, because once the company has finished with it, they send it to the dealer, then it gets sent to you. If the dealer is in the same country as you it is not an issue, because it doesn't add to much for the time. There aren't many UK dealers.

I was going for gothy cute with Ico actually. I told the face up artists that i wanted the pink part of the eye shadow to be Amy Lee pink. :)

    38. Plus, if you order through a dealer, they'll order several dolls at once and their bulk orders usually are put behind 'loose' orders made by other customers.

    39. Yes, and sometimes they just order once per month. Although in some cases i have seen companies state what date they send off their orders to that company. So you can have a good idea how long you have to wait.

    40. True, I forgot to add that. :)

    41. Love it! Your setup and props are also awesome <3

    42. Yotsub@, she's so cute! i like your photography <3

    43. She is so adorable. Juri '11 is growing on me every day and the mods are just so wonderful.
The #8 hand work so well with the sculpt.

I really love her outfit too, did you make it?

    44. Yotsub sorry I didn't reply earlier, your girl looks so cute!

I just bought a second hand jade ring as a jade bracelet for my Jade ;).

She has almost 30 bangles now... lol!

    45. Glad you enjoyed it, Thank you <3

    46. Oh what a cutie!!! Good morning! Love her little peircing and hair! :D

    47. Hopefully soon ill have my conceot art of my girl up,im definatly considering FL minifee!! As for the head i dont know.
Would like to see all the girl sculpts with face up :)

    48. great story Nikki! I love your dolls and your photos!!! I always want more :)

    49. Aww thanks so much

    50. i have a bluefairy boy who used to be paired with a mnf chiwoo, they looked really cute together. here is a pic of vale with my shushu, bibi when i plopped her down next to him. bluefairies have much larger heads, and so sometimes that can be odd, but only bc compared to most minis, mnf have small faces.

    51. Does anyone know how much is shipping directly from Fairyland??:) please and thank you.

    52. Just put your order in your shopping cart on the FL website and select 'EMS' and then your location. The website will calculate your shipping cost for you automatically. In fact trying that would have been much faster than posting here ;)

For me in the Netherlands, it would be $42.

-edit- Just noticed the USA (assuming Oxnard CA is in the USA?) is in zone 3, which is the zone the Netherlands are in too, so it's $42 for you too.

    53. If you add what you want to buy to your cart, you can check underneath the shipping company. Just choose EMS for the shipping company, find your zone and select it, and it calculates the shipping for you. Since Canada and mainland US are both Zone3, you choose that. From what I've seen, just buying an a la carte MNF alone has a $42 shipping fee.

EDIT: Whoops, someone beat me to the punch! :sweat

    54. LOL, great minds think alike ;)

    55. It really depends on your location. When I've ordered it was about 43-47$ but I am also in the US..

    56. As I just posted, the website says it's $42 for the US. Doesn't matter where in the US you live. :-)

    57. Great spam! Love the story Nikki!
      Carl spam please?

    58. She's so cute :3 May I ask where you got her wig? I'm trying to find a pink wig for Luna's character :P

      She's adorable :)

I love your photostories :) And the way you pose your gorgeous dollies and the amazing props you have.

    59. ~Mz.Spade~'s question got me curious... Whereas Fairyland's shipping is about $40+, just how much would shipping cost if you were to buy just one MNF from DDE? :?

Also, those two look cute together, DraconicMaiden. It's probably because they're both clothed+wigged+sitting, but their head differences don't really look all that noticeable to me xD
