Always so much to catch up on around here, it's hard to keep up. But I do love coming home to pages of beautiful spam, it makes my day.

I think I've finally decided who I'm ordering next. Definitely Mirwen (still on the fence regarding NS vs WS) and about 75% sure she'll be coming home with Ruth. Yes.. my first boy. I'm extremely nervous and kind of excited about it. I didn't even own a Ken doll growing up so I'm not sure what to do with a boy doll, but I'm think I'll figure it out.
He needs to be my geeky gamer boy to keep my Miyu company.

Question for owners of Ruth... what size eyes do you like best in him, 12 or 14mm? I'm thinking of placing an ED Eyes order soon (my Shushu needs 12mm, and so will my future Mirwen) and want to be prepared.

karrigankat - First of all, gorgeous picture! I love her wig. As for Myliex's wig, it's one I've had around for years, it's actually a Unoa Sist default wig - it kind of fits her, but I have to keep it on with some ribbon.

anyways, celebratory post on finally paying back my friend for my breakaway boy! I finally have Kaname back! my snarky fire demon is back and better than ever! too bad we've had such terribly hot and rainy weather here lately...perhaps ill be able to get a good picture tomorrow.

Oh yes, I get a little crazy with this too. I have a lot of toe ring sets from Walmart that I use for bracelets, and ankle ones as belts and necklaces. I have an OT doll that has pieced ears so I'm always looking for earings to scale. And I recently found a Hello Kitty 'finger' ring that is a watch and it looks like a bigger wrist watch on the dolls, which I don't mind

And a bracelet/jewelry swap does sound like fun!

No, it doesn't take long. I think I was lurking on a MNF thread for a week and decided right away that a MNF was going to be my next doll. And then I ended up with 6 of them in less than a year. So watch out, they multiply really fast!

This is my girl Niche (Juri 2008) and she is posing very naturally. I just stood her up and she did good. Her arm is around the pole, but it is not helping to hold her up. I just used it for a pose. And actually my girl needs a re-stringing and hot glues sueding as she is usually very kicky. But she was fine here:

I know, I worry about that too. I was told my experienced BJD owners that when checking out dolls, if you keep going back and looking at that doll its probably the one for you. Especially if you copy a picture of it. And the kicker is if you look at the doll and a backstory starts to come to you. Then it really is the doll for you! That happened with my very first BJD (not a MNF) and it happened right away with my Juri and Karsh

I think those pretty blue eyes are glass. To me they seem to reflect the light better then acrylics but that's JMHO. I also think that your faceup is good for a 1st try! I hope you will spam your doll more!

I usually do the same, before I left the hobby for 2 years Ryeon was one of my dream dolls, and you didn't see many of her then, just those who bought the full sets. And that's also what made me love the LFT Flora so much. I'm doomed if they turn her into a MNF!!!

I feel the same about Chloe though. She's everywhere. But I can't resist that face!!!!

 

Here's some girl Karsh, while I wait for probably 3 more months for my boy Karsh (from what I hear, DDE takes so much longer) - a little sad that I will probably have to wait a good 6 extra weeks - but oh well - that's what happens when you don't have all the cash at once.

I love everyones new spam About the couple/fight request: I think it is hard to make them look like they would fight since they look so cute and kind but i'm also interested in seeing some of them fighting.

oddly enough - I totally agree with you. sometimes I look at Delaney and think she's just lovely and then sometime I look at her and I'm like 'meh'. I think that's one of the things I like about her though - she's like a real person with good days and bad days

The character is a photography geek that is shy and to himself. But is a total boy,full out. With the 4-wheelers and the D.Cs. xD (Sortov of a weird thing..). But he is very portective of loved ones and has a deep secret..

Well, anyway, I decided I won't be able to afford a f60 female Karsh right now, so I've decided to get a mnf sized one instead Does anyone ever sand down his ears? Or do you prefer to keep them all elfy?

edit: oh, I just took a closer look at that ear shape and realized it might not be possible to sand down without it looking weird. Guess I'll just keep the ears!

 

I was wondering if you all could answer something for me. Can you tell me if there is a difference between
Soo and Dark Elf Soo?

 

I am pretty sure it's that DES has elf ears?

 

There's actually a big difference between the two At least in my eyes. Aside from the elf ears that DES has, the sculpt also has a narrower and sharper jawline, as well as a more angled eyeshape, compared to Soo's general "roundness" xD If I recall, their mouths may also be different, or that just may be because of how the eyes are shaped differently that it gives that illusion.

Can anyone please put their Ryeon head on a boy body? Or can they please? I was wondering about a Ryeon boy..<.<

 

They look a lot different, actually. DES has elf ears, and her whole face is angular instead of cutely chubby like normal Soo. DES is basically a trimmer, more angular version of Soo (with elf ears).

There is at least one none elf minifee Karsh out there Dee1. I've seen it, I just don't know who it belongs to so i can't look for a picture to share with you.

 

Sweetly-twisted modded a karsh to rid him of his elf-y affliction. I don't know who he belongs to though.

Baw. My friend bought a doll from FL and it came with a hair embedded in the face, pock marks, and a cracked ankle! Is this sort of thing common? Should I worry about my Karsh? D:

 

No! Not usually! The most that comes with FL dolls when arrived,in general are seam lines. I wouldn't worry if I were you,it only happens to one in a hundreds of people a year most of the time. v.v

I've never heard of anyone receiving a Fairyland doll that bad before! Was it received directly from Fairyland? Is it possible that it was an illegal recast?

 

Sorry for suddenly posting here even though I am not a minifee owner (yet)
But I actually had a little question for awhile and I hoped that people would not mind too much if I asked it here.
Does anyone have an idea wether Minifees would fit together with a bluefairy? As in them being together in a small group of dolls instead of being a hybrid.
Actually now that I think of it , would a Bluefairy - minifee hybrid be even possible?

 

I have to agree, that's crazy! My Flora came from FL very nicely packaged, and the box wasn't even banged up from shipping. I couldn't have asked for anything better.

 

I don't see why Bluefairies and MNFs wouldn't look alright in the same group. The only thing is that MNFs might look a little more mature, but you could make Bluefairies look pretty mature too. As for hybrids, it really depends on which kind of hybrid you're going for- if you're wanting a MNF head on a Bluefairy body, you'd just need the neck piece and would want to double-check and make sure the neck sizes would work. A MNF body with a Bluefairy head would be fine too as long as you remove the neck piece and the neck sizes are close enough to work.

 

I don't know about Bluefairy dolls, but I have separated my MSD girls into two groups because of the difference in headsize. My MNF girl only hangs out with my Unoa hybrid; all my other MSD girls have much bigger heads, so they stick together LOL.

 

She bought it through DDE, and it is certainly NOT an illegal recast. :\ Not unless DDE does them, which I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

It's just so lame that her doll was so bad! She waited 4 months for it. I think she's gonna try to just get a refund at this point.

I guess not! I'm never ordering through DDE and she's never ordering through them again.

 

I have bought through dealers three times, three different dealers, and they all checked the dolls before they were shipped to me!

 

That's the first bad thing I've heard about DDE, ever (though it probably isn't the first time it happened). And it doesn't say anything on their site about checking the dolls before they're mailed from them.

 

I think I'll just order straight through FL. That way if there are any problems, I don't have to deal with a middle-man.

 

I've had a few bad experiences with DDE and mentioned them back in much older MNF threads like... 9-14 or so..

They've mixed up orders on me, forgotten that I ordered two dolls and only ordered me one ..

Cancelled 700$ orders on me the day or two before they even arrived to them..

Not fun things.. I refuse to order from them anymore... It's mostly problems that are with one of the workers there... but even still..

2008, 2009 and 2010 I had severe problems... never again. Lol.
