Then you have mostly likely lost that battle. I know how that feels. When i name i doll, i know i have lost a that battle and that is when i want them to come home. When you decide how they are linked to another doll, well that is defiantly you screwed.

I find it so strange that our karsh's have the same wig and the same face up. But look so different. I think it is good that they are different though.

 

karla-chan; Oh, I know he'll be coming home whether he's in my immediate plans or not. Sadly for me and my wallet. I have plenty of items for my girls, but I'm lacking when it comes to boys! xD Alas. I do want him, though, so I'll have to figure out if I can fit him in before I move or if I'll have to wait a year or two.

Allstar; Gorgeous! I just love Karsh. ^o^ It really is interesting that even with the same face-up and similar hairstyles, your boys have different feels to them! That's what I love about collecting these dolls, though.

I think it is upsetting when you have named it, and have plans and you can't buy it yet. But in the end the wait does tend to be worth it and when you open that box, then you will love them so much for because of how long you have had to wait for them.

I have far less boys stuff too, even when he was on his way home, because he came a month early i hadn't had chance to get all the things i needed. I tend to save up for the doll first, then buy the things i need for them during the wait, since the wait tends to be so long.

Hopefully things will work out for you.

Didn't have a chance to ring in at the end of the last thread, but here's my two cents. I have a b-line girl and i love her. i think she poses fine. the body is a bit thicker and less slender overall than the a-line. being that my girl is a burlesque dancer, the curvature of the torso works really well for her. i find that she is a great stander, and if you can manage to get your hands on some mag-on mnf hands (you need the wrist part with the hook) it really increases the range of posing of the arm. hrere is an older pic of my girl, her right wrist is a mag hand.

Loving all the spam and boy do these threads go fast!!!! I finally got my other girl body today so now my VE and regular Shushu's each have a body. I still have the DES floating head though >_<
I was taking some pics of my Shushu, Autumn, to get a picture of her necklace and I had just found that my old spoon ring makes a really neat arm band for her!! Hope no one minds the semi nudity...

i have literally fallen for minifees in 1 day!!! I dont know if thats normal lol
i have some questions before i make a BIG decision for next year lol
first, is the A-line girl body a option if you wish to purchase a basic minifee??
second, about how much is it in total? I want to make a budget but im not sure if i should do that lol
third, if you could please show me your lovely minifees i would like to see how well they pose and well i want to see them too hehe!!

 

Ravenwolf, in our conversation earlier today I neglected to congratulate you on the new MNF body! Maybe not quite as exciting as bringing a whole new character home, but so, SO nice to complete a character anyway. Not long ago I was in that same spot, excitedly opening a box containing what should have been the body to complete Shannon, my Luka. As everyone here has heard, Shannon is still without a body and I ended up with an entire new, WS girl, my "grail doll" a Juri '08. Now I'm madly scrambling not only to save up for a body again, but also for a faceup for the new, totally unexpected character. Not really complaining though. It's been a fun surprise.

Do you happen to know what size that spoon ring is? I saw a really neat ring while shopping the other day and almost brought it home for either Panalaya or Shannon but I wasn't sure what size to get to fit their upper arm.

Since you're in CA I'd recommend going through DDE since you can pay in up to 4 month layaway! It's very convenient and since dolls usually take 3-4 months to arrive anyway it means smaller payments but no longer of a wait while you save up!

I *think* that ring is probably a size 6 because I have small fingers and usually wear 5's or 6's, but I don't
recall that one being as small as a 5. The spoon ring is adjustable too so it did stretch it out slightly when i slid it up her arm. Looking at their upper arms though, they do look about the size of my largest finger haha. I think the rings like this that are not a solid band are perfect for upper arm!
Can't wait to see your Juri too when she's done!!

You can find that information in the MNF faq, mistress_of_burden. I believe there's a link to it on page 1, and it even has specific measurements for the different heads, since they're not all the same. Those measurements are without a wig, but a wig probably only adds a cm or a few to the measurements. It also depends on the wig. :\

Oh, thank you! I never thought of using one of those paper ones. I think the Sears catelogue usually has those too.

The ring I was looking at was like that in a way. It was a spiral that was meant to go around the finger about 4 times. I'll have to look at it again to see if it is adjustable. I guess those slippery resin arms probably need something adjustable that can be larger for sliding into place and the squeezed smaller so that they stay?

Ooo boy, that would depend on so many factors that it would be risky to measure anything but the actual doll and wig you have in mind. For one thing the various sculpts have different head sizes, but the main reason is that the wigs themselves can vary so much in how bulky they are! A tight wig that has a stretchy wig cap and short synthetic hair will have a much smaller measurement than a thick, shaggy, Tibetan mohair wig made with the actual skin of the goat.

Are you having a hat custom made? Maybe if you let us know exactly which sculpt and which wig you are thinking of then perhaps you might luck out and someone will have that exact combination and be willing to measure for you.

I wanted to crochet a hat for a friend of mine, I know she has an MNF but I don't know what sculpt. She just got it so it has no set wig yet. I'm asking you guys b/c it's supposed to be a part of her birthday present xp And since I no longer have a doll to measure with. I was thinking about going 7.5 inches since that is in the 7~8 range you would buy a wig at and then + .5 inch to account for the wig. + The hat will be able to stretch so if it's a tad small I don't think it will matter much, I could be wrong though, it's been a good 2 years since I've owned a doll. x.x

So I finally surrendered in my fight to bring a Shushu back into my household. I realized I really missed her. So I'm saving for one. Now that I have my Chloe, Shushu feels like an apporiate partner in crime. I can't wait to have my girls together.

Question for Shushu Owners - Did any of you have trouble bonding with your Shu, when it was blank? I did the first time and I was wondering if this happened to anyone else?

I'm waiting for the girl to send out the Miyu head I bought. I'm still debating on getting her a 6-7 wig or a 7-8 wig XD But I have the perfect wig picked out because it just jumped at me and screamed "I'M LUNAAAAAAAAA!" Lol.

when my mums shushu first arrived blank we thought she looked like an alien! we hadn't seen a doll blank before but we have since and both agree she's the alienest () looking blank doll we've seen! when she got her second face up she also got a nose job and now she's my mums favourite

 

I agree. I am a Shushu owner i think without a wig and blank she looks like an alien. I think it is even more so with my girl since she has the solid black eyes. Which i think really added to the alien look.

I haven't got a picture of her blank with her black eyes and no wig. But here is her blank with her eyes.

About shushu: Yes, i was scared of her when she was blank and wearing her blue eyes xD She looks less scary without eyes. I wanted to sell her and was unhappy with the head but at least i'm happy i did not

I don't think i was ever scared of her (and i have a doll phobia), because i had seen Shushu's in real life with wigs and make up and they looked adorable. It just made me laugh she looked like a gray like this though!

My Shushu scared me witless when she first arrived blank and bug eyed, and I had wanted Shushu for so long. But she has undergone many changes since she arrived, I couldnt love her more !!!

 

Oh Shushu is amazing! I was a Chloe fan for a long time and soon I think I'll order one - I thought it should be Cloe, but I see Shushu is also incredible... Will be hard to decide!

 

That is one of the reasons I am scared to order my dolls I am scared I wont bond with them.....

 

I wanted to buy Chloe for so long too, but Shushu won out in the end. I have recently order a Chloe too though. They are both really pretty sculpts.
