Ahh life has been so crazy busy lately, I've missed keeping up with everyone's spam! It's super lovely as always

I finally, finally, finally got my DES head yesterday! She took the super scenic route and went further away from me before coming closer... the "3-7 business days" ended up taking 4 weeks XD

She had some staining (I was expecting this) so spent a few hours yesterday trying to clean her up as well as I could. Hoping to get to paint her this weekend and introduce her to the world!

I'm really, really, really wanting Mirwen. I'm still on the fence with boy dolls. One minute I love the idea and the next I just don't know. I'm thinking that means I should hold off until I know for sure. So... might just cave and order my Mirwen alone for now. Can I request Mirwen spams?

Sooooo, that lost wig? Totally came. And I'm slightly disappointed in it. I really love the color of it, but the feel of it, the random flyaways that won't go down with hairspray, and I can't style the bangs properly without the wig cap showing are too annoying for me. I thought Leeke had a better reputation. Marcy thinks she's a beauty queen, so I guess that's all that matters. Lol.

 

I've been having a pretty stressful time lately, but managed to decide to reshell and switch two of my dolls/characters around and now i'm much happier with both girls. She was Mert, but now my Chloe is Galene. Hope no one minds a pic.

 

@AmiSi - She looks beautiful!!! I'm biased because I also love a Chloe, but then again who doesn't?

Everyone's dolls are gorgeous! I can't get my girl to have a mature look. Without body and wig she like a mature pretty teenager,but with a wig and all she looks like a 10 year old little girl :-/ Anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know any wig I can get to give her an older look? I can post a pic if needed.

I hear you, dollyb. For the longest time I had to struggle to keep Fionha looking somewhat mature. Somehow, the way I messed with her wig and the angle I photographed her from really affected her appearance! Photos would definitely help, hehe, but someone else may be able to help you more without them.

 

inverinate - Thank you :3 They like to switch between blue and green tints. I really wish I could pinpoint where they came from so I could have the same pair for her brother in the far future. :3

 

Quick question for you all, how did you come up with look you deicided on for your mnf? I mean clothing and style wise?

blueskiesnorain - Marceline was already dead set. I knew what type of person she would be and what she would wear because of her character. It's how I pictured her when I saw her. She prefers anything and everything black and sometimes looks like a "scene kid". She'll wear cute stuff on occasion, but it's rare. Luna will dress the same as her personality: cute and off the wall. Lol. So for me, I figure it out by the personality.

 

I'm the same as Sugarpopz. It the character. My girl is suppose to be a scene/hang with the guys/video gamer but has a side for cuteness

Which until her new wig and clothes come in she looks like a happy go get it 10 year old v.v

But I feel like my finances should be pretty ok for the next few months since I asked for more hours at the job. I am super excited because he will be my first minifee better yet my first msd. for rheia owners who purchased wigs from spite & malice what size fits best?

 

pokori - I can't say for sure, but I'd say probably the 6.5/7 would be the best option since I know rheia generally fits best in a 6/7 but idk if the 6/6.5 would be too small since fur wigs aren't really stretchy like fiber wigs.

EleanorAnne - WOW! That picture is AMAZING!! She looks so real sitting there on the bed. I LOVE all her little props. Fantastic job setting up her room. The stickers on her lap top is such an awesome touch, makes it really personal. And the stuff under her bed, the room is really lived it! So many little details! Okay... I'll shut up now... it's just so impressive.

blueskiesnorain: i think its all about the characters for me too. and you get used to being able to tell if the doll "likes" dressing a certain way or in a particular style. Bibi for example, steals everyones clothes bc in her story, she is staying with zoe. she does prefer lacy, vintage things though, and does have some of her own pieces. i like being able to mix and match everyone, but there are definite circumstances where the girls really do have their own pieces.

 

thank you and wow you are super creative I am in love with Lena's room. It amazing to me how well you captured realness of a person's room. To the personalized laptop to even the carpet on the floor. Wow just wow.....

 

I got my new camera today! I will be able to take better pics of my lovelies now. =3 Once I figure it out a bit more I will post more pics of my new karsh.

 

Ok... so I just caved and ordered my Mirwen!
Was going to wait until my next paycheque, but it's only a week away and that's a week I could knock off her production time..........

the "carpet" is actually a piece of dark grey fleece so that it's textured but not too out of scale like it would be if I used the actual carpet in my room xD

This is a great photo! All of your hard work definitely paid off.. she looks like a really happy girl! Love all of the little details like the shoes under her bed with the plastic tote, the stickers on her laptop, and all of the little mugs and things on her dresser. Definitely looks very lived in! Very inspiring room. Do you always keep it set up this way as a diorama? If so, where do you keep it set up?

the set actually breaks down and gets put away in various places when I don't have it set up for pictures.
the floor is a piece of dark grey fleece fabric, the walls are two black foam project boards that I tape together in the corner.
so the floor folds up and goes in a drawer, the walls fold up and get stuffed in a corner with my other set walls, her bed goes in the doll cabinet (it's where she sits in the cabinet), all the big props like the bedside table go into my storage trunk, and all the little stuff goes into my stacked prop boxes.

here is another shot of her room from last week.
for this one I just set up the walls and her bed on top of my desk instead of putting up the whole room like I do when I have more space to spread out.

EleanorAnne-Where did you get that mini keyboard/piano? :3 I've been looking for one! Your girl is so cute!

 

dollyb - I made the keyboard myself out of balsa wood which I glued together, shaped, and painted (the keys are printed and glued on though 'cause I couldn't freehand them nicely) because I couldn't find one anywhere that I liked and was actually in scale (generally on keyboards that are approximately the right size the keys are still super out of scale)

Sen is 3/4 done being tanned! the airbrushing really did the trick. i did not spray her beforehand, so we are hoping it stains the resin and retains the color a bit bc of wear. she is a lovely pale mocha, similar to hot cocoa powder! its so beautiful in person and i cant wait to be able to actually show her off!

 

Thought I would share my Mirwen, just got a faceup pic from the artist herself. Is my fiance's character and he chose what it looks, although it is his choice I am still happy with it, now I just want her home!

My glob, guys. I just got a thing in the mail to pick up something at the post office. I'm pretty sure it's Luna's head since her wig's tracking still says it's being processed through the NYC sorting facility. I can't go to the PO until Saturday. I'm so excited and dumb for not getting tracking on her. But either way It'll be something
I just hope it's Luna.
