I would tell them "something great." It's none of their business anyway, just deflect the question in a friendly way. Actually I think banks are getting desperate about people taking their money out, lol. I took a CD out that had been maturing for 4 years recently, and they tried to talk me out of it and wanted to know why I wasn't keeping the money in the bank (it was a sizable CD). =__=

But more on topic... Has anyone tried Rix as a girl? I think the sculpt actually looks a lot like Luts Soony.

 

@BronzePhoenix - I think Rix would make a cute girl!!!

 

karla-chan- That's actually kind of funny to me, but I go agree with what others have been saying that it's really no one's business. I tend to just ignore people and act like I didn't hear them if they ask about something like that, but to each her own I guess!

I do think bronzephoenix had a really good idea about deflecting the question in a friendly way as well.

 

I kind of want to get a Rix only because they're so uncommon, and it is hard to judge how I'd like them without seeing some owner shots and blank head shots .. xD maybe I'll take the plunge and put him next on my list after my Yeon-Ho

 

I actually have a doll phobia, so like 90% of dolls freak me out. Most BJDs are OK though. It's a good job really. .. ^^; But yes, i think she though i meant changing diapers and pretend to feed them and stuff.

I am a really bad lair and i am sure it will look much weirder if i lie about it, and then catch me out. I don't mind if people think i am weird. More then anything i find it funny.

I thought it was a funny story, which is why i thought i would share it. I know it is no ones business really, but the women at the bank was trying to be friendly really. As i have said i have been asked things before when i have been.

When i showed her a photo in the end, she did say wow they look really cool.

Too funny Karla-chan! What I find funny is just this past weekend I went to an Anime Con where we had some dolly-meet ups and a panel on BJD's. You've got people dressed up like Naruto and Zelda and when they see the dolls, they get all creeped out and seem frightened of them! I heard there was a movie about a BJD that came to life, so I guess this is the trigger...I was thinking it was something like Puppet Master (o.O)

@dollyb ~ My Luka girl's usual wig is a 7/8 from Crobidoll; it is a teeny bit big. I also recently received a 6/7 Luts wig that fits very nicely once I got it on.

Does anyone of you know if a BW MNF head fit an a Soom Little Gem Body in CW. Or is the neck too big for MNF ?
Maybe some has already tried that and has a pic for me?

 

I found it funny at the time, so i thought a couple of other people might have had a good laugh at it too!

It was pretty funny as she was looking down at how much i have saved up so far. I am over 1/2 so it does look a lot of money! :giggle:

I think it is great when people are afraid of my dolls, i guess i should be more symptomatic because i have a doll phobia myself. But i know people who are scared of my dolls, Ico made a child cry once. That was amusing in a strange way, it was the parents fault that one though.

Yes there is it is called the Doll Master actually -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doll_Master an actual BJD company made the dolls and everything. The first time i watched that film was in a house with over 60 BJDs (I am not joking either, but 3 BJD collectors lived there) and i had a couple of BJDs with me too. One of them was new, so the strings had not settled.

So while watching the film, one of the "bad guys" said something kind of creepy and just as she did Kumiho turned her torso suddenly and looked at us all. We jumped, but laughed so hard.

Wig caps are fairly simple, they are good to have for your doll because they can protect the dolls head from being dyed as well as keeping the wig on. I have a Shushu with a 6-7 size wig cap on. Wig caps come in the same sizes as the wigs do and do stretch.

They can be found very cheap on Ebay too.

 

Thank you but no I didnt do her face-up. Its by Caroline of Viridian house who is based here in the UK. Her eyes are soft acrylics from Safrin doll. A fun and enjoyable way to find things out is just to surf the net - you never know you might find things that others dont know about !!

should have known ... and to keep it relevent, and cause it's true cute top, i'm amazed there was enough fabric in a barbie dress to fit a minifee!

I've heard they fit really well on Minifee girls, but I know that the boys have thicker thighs and I don't want to spend this much money on something that doesn't fit...

I am getting better at posing Ico, she is by far my best poser and can get into some pretty awesome poses. My friend showed me so cool tricks the last meet i was at. It has really helped me experiment with her a lot more.

 

That's cool! I'm slowly but surely starting to think that I might need to switch Adina to a small-bust body, even if it takes away from some of the comedy in my photostories with my OT girl being the only one with a flat chest. But then, the small bust does have a little bit of boobage, so that's more than Vacide has! >u<

 

I see, Ico is actually a cuite bust so she has pretty much nothing. But the character has very little and i think small breasts are very charming any way.

From what i can tell the small bust seems roughly about the same size as the RS single jointed bodies. I am going to for got small breast for my MNF Chloe actually.

Shuklyah -- I was just thinking about this the other day myself. An Etsy seller called Cidore has BJD rings. I did see MSD sizes the other day. I've also seen some hands customized to have rings.but I can't remember what material was used to build up the ring on the finger...sorry!

Ahh, lilbrokendolly, October looks fantastic! I'm so jealous of her hair color, I always wanted neon orange hair. I love how her shirt matches her eyes and faceup!

 

Thanks so much! my friend said to me that you just have to try with crazy poses and see what they can do. Just roughly hold them while they are doing it to get their centre of balance.

This friend can make my RS girls stand on one leg too. So she has a lot of patience and really has a play with them. I have been playing with Ico more after her advise and i have got some awesome poses out of her.

In this pose, she has both of her knees bent, one quite extreme, her torso pulled up. And she can pull it off, it took me a little while to figure out how to balance her.

Does anyone know if there is a big color difference between Fairyland NS and Planetdoll NS?
I'm eyeing a PD body to make a hybrid with my MNF scar head.
I'm willing to blush the head a little, but I wouldn't like the colour difference to be too extreme to blush.
