andreja does great natural and fantasy faceups as well she's quite pricey but its worth it all of my dolls will go to her

hi. i just want to ask, what month does fairyland give a event head? so i can plan my order to them hehe...

 

I had a look into that because i am hoping to do the same thing. I think it is normally August based off older news updates on their site. I am sure others will know better then me any way.

 

While they frequently do give out event heads, there is no guarantee that it will be a head gift. It could be something like the MNF Scar arm/ Scar chest pieces rather than a had sculpt...

Typically an event might pop up near August or later like November or December

My new boy seems pretty floppy and needs to be tightened. The neck piece is a bit confusing to me though. What's the simplest way to tighten the elastic in the minifees without disassembling them?

I'm not sure about how to tighten them, but often the loosest ones are the easiest and best to pose. One of my friends has an extremely floppy Elf Shiwoo and he's one of the best posers I've seen in quite a while.

I have been liking all the boy "attack" spam! I am currently working on sorting out my characters one by one, and coming up with their backstory, and how they are involved with one another...and let me tell you that it's been so difficult! I hope to have some type of storyline to post within the next month or so once I figure a few key aspects of my storyline...I might even have to change my mnf's names...not all three (hopefully!)...but maybe one....the rest should work out. I also don't know how to write around the boy character I have planned since I am not sure if I will be able to have him until a couple of months from now. Will be an exciting adventure though, and I believe I have got my eye and heart set on a white skin minifee Karsh on a normal a -line boy body...let's see what happens!

 

JediSpiceGissia, silvermasques, Thank you for spamming your white skin girls. It's really helpful to me to see how pretty they can be with the right faceup.

Lyzrd, your WS Juri looks lovely. Did you do her faceup yourself?

Thanks! That is very helpful actually. I do hope that I am able to get a faceup that is done with a light touch. I don't want a heavily painted look.

Thanks, TeaPartyRevolution, I did check out your links. I'm starting to see how pretty WS can really be. I think sometimes I didn't even realize that some dolls are WS because they have lovely natural faceups and a wig that shows them off to their best advantage.

So you do your own faceups and body blushing then? Is it necessary to take the body apart, do the sealant, blushing, and then put it all back together, or can a temporary body blushing be done without sealant, knowing full well that it will not last?

Thanks, Mews, Viridian House is UK based isn't it? I sure wish I was talented and could do this myself. Now that she's here I really don't want to let her go off somewhere for who knows how long! Yet at the same time I don't want her sitting around with no faceup forever either.

umm, i know you're supposed to take them apart to blush but i figure it's going to wear off in the joints anyway so just spray the sealant with them in different positions and then blush away the first ws i blushed was a littlefee so i'll just post a link to him for some reason he came out looking a lot pinker in the photo thebn he is in real life but you get the idea. basically the only dolls i have that i haven't done the faceups on were my very first ones (like cailyn) or a couple i bought as in stock with faceups already on. i grimace now at my first attempts and plan to redo them if it would JUST STOP RAINING! but i think i improve each time so just keep at it, i like most of the ones i do now. (though in a few years i may decide they all need redoing again ) you never know what you can do till you try. the biggest roadblock i can see is that being in canada - like me- you have to order msc by sea and it can take 3 months to come. it's flammable/explosive so can't be shipped by air and there are no canadian sources that i have found.

 

I've been thinking of giving Nyne some or all of the tattoos she's supposed to have, and I'm debating not unstringing her, just because I'm not confident I'll get her back together - are there any good tutes for it out there?

Minifee Seorin girl ws, medium bust. A faceup I'm finally happy with - it's like the 6th one, but it does look like I need to "fix" that shadow.

Yes, that is the one thing that stops me from buying a blank head just to practise, practise, practise on until I had the skills to actually do my own crew. I hear such bad things about the sealant we can get here discolouring over time and like you said, the MSC is difficult to get.

Really? She's a WS? I never would have guessed! Is the photo adjusted some or is she an older doll that has mellowed? She looks so less vividly white than, Panalaya, my new girl.

 

i finally found it on e*ay. once i got some in i just make sure i plan waaay ahead when i need to order since it takes up to three months. which reminds me prob'ly time to reorder so it gets her before we freeze again (and we haven't even had summer yet )

 

Yes, she has mellowed quite a bit, especially compared to my tinies. My MNFs are from late 2008, my tinies are from late 2011.

Boy am I glad to see some of the LTF/PKF/PkPk peeps over here! Certainly makes my life easier.

 

Boy spam. Remy's clothes from Alice's Collection came in a week ago, and the fit is very nice (or atleast the 2 items I've actually tried on so far, lol)

yes, but he's a modded Luka. He's the sleeping head I got with my Luka girl, but I wanted another MNF boy so I opened up his eyes.

 

Gaahhh xD I am so tempted to buy another MNF, but I told myself I will limit myself to just one, at least for now. Ever since I saw Crazykimochis new hunky dude.... I'm really considering a Rix or a Kyle. They may not appeal on the promo pics, but just like Mirwen's, they can look so different when they have a custom faceup and whatnot.

 

I find it is never just the one... I told myself the same thing too!

 

It is impossible to limit oneself to just one... I'm pretty sure that once I'll be able to afford it, I'll just go for it in a heartbeat. Fairyland, WHY YOU MAKE SUCH PRETTY DOLLS?!?!
