@lilbrokendolly & DenaliWind - Thanks! Yes, she got a faceup makeover some weeks ago from the talented Xhanthi! I still wanted her to look colorful! Worked out perfectly, and I really like this darker wig on her too- the light colored wigs don't look as good.

Okay guys I need an opinion on this. I really like the chloe sculpt but it seems everyone has one. I also like Mirwen sculpt. What should I do? Which one should I get? Chloe or Mirwen?

 

get the one you love most. it doesn't matter if everyone has one. chances are you will regret not getting the one you truly love. if your having a lot of trouble deciding. dont rush into it. give it some time and check out the database and see which one calls to you more. maybe try to develop a character and see which sculpt fits the character best?

 

@blueskiesnorain - My personal opinion is this: If you really like the Chloe sculpt then go for it. It doesn't really matter that much that it's such a popular sculpt, it's popular because it's gorgeous! And you probably don't want to keep testing the waters without actually landing the sculpt you really wanted from the very beginning. With a faceup, eyes, and wig a sculpt can look soooooo different! If you like Chloe more over any other sculpt I would definitely get it and then you will know from there. They are wonderful in
person too!

 

ditto with Octobercrow! I have an El and for a long time they were a dime a dozen. get the doll you think is the prettiest. Look through owner pictures and think about how you can make your doll special and get the mold that makes you the happiest.

Looking at my B-line and A-line girls together, the legs look identical (well the hip parts, since they're model and cutie respectively but anyway) so I can't see any reason why they wouldn't fit.

However, I will say that my B-line (2008) is slightly bigger than my A-line (2010? 2011?), tight pants fitted to my A-line girl won't fit my B-line, so you might have to do a teeny bit of sanding, unless it's just an age thing or possibly just her bum - I haven't quite figured out the exact difference yet.

Unfortunately I don't have the time to take them apart for you at the moment, but if you're still wondering in a few weeks just send me a PM and I'll take some photos for you.

I call for MNF boy spam! Custom faceups are a plus but not necessary - and I would like to know who was the faceup artist for the custom faces if possible! Please and thank you!

Within the next couple of months I am trying to narrow my search down to one boy sculpt for my next MNF. I already know that I want a non-muscular body - but the head is another story! I think I want a Karsh...but I just want to see some of those other gorgeous boy or girl-potential-boy sculpts to sway me one way or the other, since I love to complicate things!

Any help with pictures and info will be very much appreciated!

seriously, if you don't do the default faceup your doll will be unique no matter which sculpt you pick and even with the default the eyes and wig can change a lot, so get the one you love the most and don't worry about what other people have these dolls are never clones unless you really work at it

I got a body of the MP recently and she just arrived yesterday and I had gotten the DES head too with the body even though this body was supposed to be for my Shushu head (who is out for a face-up). I was thinking of selling her, but then ended up really liking this face-up on her! She's really cute and really good for a character for a story of mine, named Adlanniel. So this is Adlanniel (wearing Malakai's wig lol since none for her are here yet) Now I'm going to need more bodies if I keep her these eyes aren't even ones I was keeping either haha.

 

@silvermasques - Is that a VE Chloe in the red?! Like that picture!

@Ravenwolf - awww, she is cute! I would probably keep a cutie like her for a while as well. The problem with me is I have not developed my dollies characters. When I do then I will be in trouble! Hahah.

 

I could use some helpful direction and suggestions.

Panalaya, ("Pan" for short), is looking for a faceup. I'm kind of nervous about it because I would imagine that WS is quite challenging to work with! I'd like to request spam of WS Minifees with custom faceups done. Bonus if you let me know who did the faceup!

I'm also not sure what I'm after in a faceup with this girl. If you've been following along as this whole situation unfolded you will know that she came to me rather unexpectedly so I had none of the usual planning time that a preorder gives you. I originally figured I'd go fantasy style with the pastel look and lacy scroll-work characteristic to some of Xhanthi's creative faceups. I still haven't ruled that out, but now I'm wondering do I want her faceup to go in that direction or something with less flourish.

I'm no good with artistic editing programs, but I know some of you are. If you think it might be fun, and you feel like it, try your hand with the blank head picture above. You should be able to nab it from my Flickr account. If you like the results of your "colouring project" give me a shout (and a link) so I can come and take a look. Probably not allowed to post the actual pictures here? If there is some "allowable" way to do this in the gallery or something, let me know.

Oh, if you're wanting to play with this you should know that her wig will be bubblegum pink with lavender tips and her eyes are blue.

Yeah I don't have characters all fleshed out either, and now I have 3 female heads suddenly and only one body Maybe they won't all end up staying when they are done (the two are getting face-ups) but I know my Karsh boy will always stay

 

Wovenflame: I have owned another doll in WS, an Angel of Dream. From what I was told, the resin matches the one of MNF's and if it's so, I just want to say that the colors will look a little more pigmented on them. The really awesome thing about it is that the white skin can be really versatile: It can look really good from spooky and undead to fairy-like and colorful. So you can go with pretty much everything you would have in mind for a doll. I think the WS is perfectly suited for more fantasy-like characters.

Not sure if this is helpful or is relevant for that matter, but oh well xD ....

 

I looked up white skin Minifee in flicker and there are a few really nice examples of relatively natural makeup but with fun colors so you could get say her eyeshadow in a lavender to go with the tips of the wig.


On the topic of fleshing out characters: I'm in a weird situation, that Mackenzie is forcing me to tweek details of my storyline plans but she's also starting to have a more settled background than Aislinn who's relationships and "magical" abilities are more fleshed out but who's background is more vague.
I've been looking up notable members of the Clan Mackenzie... it's one heck of a coincidence that sailing, and exploring actually run in the family.

 

Not only BW with custom, but a BW Juri '08! Here's a shot of Asherah, without a wig so you might better see her faceup.

 

I'd like to recommend AngelToast - she hasn't done any MNF WS for me, but she has done some larger WS dolls for me - as well as two NS MNF. I have grabbed myself a spot this month for my Tanning MNF, so I have no worries about her talents in regards to skin tone.

I would LOVE to show off my Delf BG VE Lishe she did, but she's a little big for this forum, so I will show my two MNF NS girls instead and just keep the other examples of her work on WS (all my 3 big kids she did were all WS) as links...

i only have ws in ltf an pkf size so can't show pictures here but i found that with good body blushing they tend to look like the very pale skinned blondes or red heads (rather than the "undead" your husband thought ) i tend to freckle mine to enhance that look, but i'm addicted to freckles. i also haven't found them any harder to do than normal skin except that you don't want to be to heavy handed with the blushing.
