I sewed a new dress for Shannon yesterday and according to house rules that means she gets "the body" for a few days. Candace will be waiting in the wings to snatch "the body" back when I next make her a new outfit.

All this body snatching going on is making me anxious to finally order a second body for my girls. Of course I can't resist getting a new head at the same time. With the scarcity of Juri '08 heads in the Marketplace I think I'll go ahead and order a Karsh to be my third Minifee head. Her lovely elf ears have really drawn me in....which leads me to a question, and a spam request:

I'd like to see your girls in wigs that allow their ears to show. Not just elf ears, any ears will do. If you can name the wig used that would be even better. Thanks!

Wovenflame- I got a pic of my girl earlier today with her ears showing- she wears a Monstro Designs faux fur wig. It's not so much that the wig is designed to let her ears show as I styled it to allow for them- I just love her cute little ears to pieces!

Aww, JediSpiceGissia, you're so lucky! Those Juri '08 girls are so pretty. I'm never in a position to order enough to qualify for event heads so my only hope is the second hand market. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that the sculpt won't be mine. Thank goodness Karsh is also cute and has those lovely elf ears.

Okay, EleanorAnne, Lena's wig and general style was already something awesome but I tell ya, her coordinating bathing suit is beyond wonderful. Mark me down as a Lena fan!

MorningHeart, you should be proud. You did a wonderful job! I hope we'll be seeing her around alot.

Thank you, Wovenflame! Still struggling with eyebrows and eyelashes, but practice makes perfect. (Or so they say. And I hope!) You'll certainly be seeing more of the Shushu. She's currently sharing a body with my Lishe (the body's original owner) but I daresay it suits the intended character for Shushu better. Now if she would only tell me her name!

Your Shannon is beautiful, btw. I've been wanting a Luka for months now.

Here's a picture of my El, Malakai, for boy spam I love the penstemon he's in hehe. Don't mind his shirt, I made it and it ended up too short so it looks like a crop top hahaha. I still want to get his face-up changed a bit sometime, the brows aren't what I'd like.

Rio99, thanks! They are close to what I wanted in the default, but I wanted them just a bit darker and slightly thicker and less hooked at the ends, (can't see that there) but they aren't bad

Alaia- You can make hybrids with Minifee heads and bodies from other companies, but you will definitely need a neck piece to do it. Minifees have a very unique "one-touch" system that keeps their heads attached, so they all have larger than normal openings through which the neck piece fits. Unfortunately, the openings are much too large to allow a normal S hook to keep the head attached. I have seen plenty of hybrids out there though, so I'm pretty sure the heads fit fine as long as you have the neck piece. Hope that helps!

When did you order, if you don't mind me asking?

 

I ordered February 11th through DDE during the event from FL so not only did it take longer because DDE does huge orders which are shipped in batches but also because FL had a huge amount of orders due to their event. I've never had it be this long of a wait before! My layaway ended May 10th and I had been assuming that I would have it by my girlfriend's birthday (I purchased a body for a floating head of hers) which was the 22nd... But not so much. Oh well, at least I have a shipping notice!

 

Wow. I might as well just give up my hope on getting my Chloe shipped early, then...

I need to find some practice material and get to teaching myself to sew some dolly clothes for Marcy :3 Would anyone send me to some easy beginners tutorials? I can never seem to find any easy looking ones when I go to the sewing section >.>

After I had bought her (she was offered with a body as well), I got something like 3 more offers of Juri 2008 heads. I didn't have enough money after that so I had to pass. I love her and I do still want her in NS as well. I am thinking about twins if I find one!

I love my Karsh boy too, and need some newer pics of him. His new shirt, coat, eyes and sunglasses came in yesterday. I have to wait a bit tho for any new doll play cuz it's finals week *sigh*

Is that one of those special two colored leeke wigs? They're so pretty, I wish I got some, lol!

 

I got one of the Leekeworld wig grabbags from Denverdoll. It seems like they gave me 2 of their special colored wigs and 1 normal colored one. I was really surprised because I didn't think they'd include limited colors.

 

Wading back into the waiting room again. Candace and Shannon are tired of sharing a body so I've ordered a large bust body for Shannon, and then Candace can have the small bust body to herself.

And then........I decided that it wasn't that much more money to order a whole doll instead of the a la carte, body only. So now I have a Karsh coming my way. Unless she is so absolutely gorgeous that she bumps Candace or Shannon, she'll spend most of her time in a box, only coming out to model fantasy clothing. I love her large elf ears and I think they will work well with any royalty, elven, forest fairy, and sci fi type of outfits that just won't suit the established characters of my other two Minifee girls.

You know, I've seen the same WTB threads asking for a Juri '08 for so long that I just figured there weren't any out there to be had. Maybe those folks weren't willing to pay enough? I dunno. Anyway, I can't afford to pay outrageous amounts for a head either, no matter how much I like it. Maybe some day a reasonably priced Juri '08 will find it's way to my eager hands, but for now I'll have to make do waiting for my Karsh and planning fantasy pieces for her wardrobe.

I'm thinking about getting a Karsh from the a la carte thing on Fairyland, but I won't have the money for it for a while... do you think that it'll be available for a while? Or is the a la carte thing limited? Thanks guys!

i am going to do the tanning myself with RIT dye in the tan color. after that, her head will be sent out for a faceup to not sure who, while i work on the tattooing on her body. XP shes going to be so awesome...!

 

one of their events last year had waits of up to 4 months for some people. that's the problem with ordering during events, but sometimes the extras or exclusives are just irresistible!

 

Has anyone got a Karsh with default makeup that they could spam? I ordered by Karsh blank because she's a girl and the default is a boy but I was just looking at the default makeup and I think it would be awesome on my girl! Exotic looking and might be just what I'm after. Probably too late, but if I missed the DDE deadline for this week I might be able to slip in a request to have her faceup done default.

 

Email DDE now and ask them to hold your order if they can and explain why! They're usually pretty good about that!

 

Congrats on your new Karsh! I have him as a whole doll in NS, and I also have his sleeping face. I also have a Karsh head blank in WS that I plan on making a girl, possibly a twin to my current boy.

Yeah, it does sometimes take awhile. Mine only took a month and a half before I got my first 'hit'. It could be the buyers are only wanting to pay so much and so on. I know at one point there was a NS head only for sale around $600+ that I figured there was no way anyone would buy it at that cost, and someone did!!

I do love that sculpt, but I have seen asking prices for $300 and I am not willing to pay that for just a head...FL is missing out on a great opp here for them to make a boat load of money if they would re-offer her or put her (him?) in the Ala cart menu!

This I can do, only its a crappy cell phone pic for now. I had intended them to be a couple, but now I am not so sure...As soon as Im on break, I plan on taking more/better pics!
