Fairyland Minifee MNF Discussion Part 22

Apr 27, 2012

    1. Thanks everyone for the help with the cuite and normal legs. I currently have the cutie legs for my Shushu girl Ico. But Ico character wise is pretty short. But thanks for the help, i know to go with the cutie again for my next character because i don't want her to be shorter then Ico.

    2. If they're going to be the same skincolor, you could get the model legs and just switch their bodies/legs around. That way you'd have Ico on the shorter legs and your new girl on the longer ones!

    3. That did cross my mind, but i think the different skin tones would annoy me because by the time i get my new doll Ico will be at least 18 months older. But thanks for bringing it up. :)

    4. Does anyone think it would be too difficult to match the resin from a Juri '08 sculpt with a new-ish body? I've recently becoming quite smitten by the Juri '08 sculpt and I was thinking of hunting around the marketplace for one. But if coming up with a matching or close match for a body would be next to impossible I'll just give up on the idea.

I plan on ordering a new Minifee body in the next few months as I already have two heads sharing the same body. If I was able to find a Juri '08 she could maybe take over the older Minifee body (still 2012 though) rather than the super fresh, brand spankin' new body?

      Opinions?

    5. @karla-chan~ You're welcome!

@wovenflame~ Nope, I see no difference in the posing ability between the two girls :)

    6. i think this would probably be fine, but it depends on the amount of yellowing the juri head has. my juri 08 isnt noticeably yellowed but the newest fairyland body i have to compare it to is from 2011. you could always purchase an older aline body from the marketplace, like 09/10 if it really bothered you though!

    7. I second Allstar's response. My Milla (juri 08) is on a 2011 body and I see little to no difference in skintone.

Sorry, she's not showing much skin here.

    8. I was considering that, but it would be ideal if the body could share with a newer Mirwen or Luka.

luckeegurl, your girl, and Allstar's, with their very natural looking faceups are the ones that really have me wanting the sculpt! They are both gorgeous.

    9. Thanks Wovenflame! I hope you get your hot little hands on one soon!

    10. Wovenflame: My Juri '08 has yellowed, and it took me a while to get used to her on a newer body, but I barely notice it anymore. Depending on the head, it may or may not be yellow, but if a slight mismatch doesn't bother you, I don't think it's anything to worry about too much.

    11. Drive by spam :3
      [IMG]

    12. Other people have been talking about it, but frankly, with all the Fairyland dolls I've had (since 2009) it took a few years for anyone to yellow to the point of having a noticably different skintone. AND since legs are normally covered, especially the upper part, it's unlikely that you'll have much trouble with yellowing for at least three years, if not more (depending on how you care for/ store your doll). Even my three year old body with the new head wasn't awful and a little blushing made the difference completely unnoticeable.

*just throwing that out there because I think a lot of people are really paranoid about resin matching over time and it's really not a super big issue? I was really paranoid about it too, but I was surprised to find that yellowing isn't as huge of a problem as I expected it to be!

    13. thank you all for the info on the cutie legs i was just curious

    14. My girl is a on a 2010 body here, and the head color and body color was so slight you can barely see it.

    15. And this is her on a 2011 body. I changed it cuz this one is body blushed (which you cant see ATM) but they are the same, A-line with large chest. Again, another good match. Well, I think so anyway ^~^

      (ugh-flyaways!)

    16. xxSugarxPopzxx Aww your Ryeon is adorable and colorful. :3

crimsonbrush Your girl is so cute! I love her post, and I love her style even more!

SmoteyMote Thanks for sharing your experience. I've been getting paranoid about Blair yellowing since it's been extremely hot and humid over here for some months now. I don't keep her in her box but the place where I put her doesn't get a lot of sun. Even so, I still felt paranoid until I read your post. :)

I attended a meet last Saturday. It was a summer-themed meet, but Blair didn't want to get too much sun exposure, so she wore a sleeved dress and a big hat.

    17. Hello everyone~ UvU I have a question about those who have both male and female minifees x'D Do you think a male torso could fit on a female body? If not, do you think it'd need a little or a lot of modding? >u<;;;
Thanks in advance for any help~ >u<

    18. There is a HUGE difference between noticeable yellowing and putting a new doll next to an older doll. All resin no matter how much you will look after it WILL yellow, even the very air makes it yellow. I bought some extra hands for my WS doll, about 6-8 months after i bought the doll, and there is already a little bit of a difference in resin match. But looking at her on photo's you can't really tell.

I have a muscley boy body and a active line girl body and the torso on the male body is huge compared to the female one.

    19. I was reading this thread faithfully since I ordered my MiniFee Chloe in January . Finally I have pictures to contribute!

    20. I posted this crappy pic a while back, I think! It was when I made my couple some matching undies, but you can kinda tell the difference in size here~

    21. I love her dress it is adorable. I like it a lot actually. :)

    22. Huh! I noticed the difference with other full dolls but when I got a new set of white-skin hands a year and a half after getting the body there was absolutely no visual difference. Granted, they might have been older hands Fairyland sent me but I doubt it... at least not all of them would have been (I had the full set). Granted, I do keep my dolls out of the sun and in a very shadowy part of my room inside a space in my bookcase. If I know I'm not going to be playing with them for a while because of school or work I just put them away too.

    23. finally i haven't seen a miyu in so long i forgot all about blair she is so cute WHERE HAVE ALL THE MIYU'S GONE? Eveyone has been selling that sculpt lately makes me sad

    24. JediSpiceGissia, She's white skin though. I wonder if that makes much of a difference in how easy/difficult it is to match resins that have aged?

She's beautiful Safray! I love her top. Did you knit it yourself?

    25. pokori What? Noooo. :( Miyu is still my all-time favorite MNF sculpt!

    26. Thanks for the help guys >.<~ <3

    27. Here's an old spam of my Miyu... (I don't have her anymore)

    28. karla-chan,Wovenflame, thank you!
Wovenflame, Yes,I knit for my dolls. Now Espe is asking for this Lariat Minifee Sweater of yours.

    29. I honestly think after 1 1/2 years there WOULD have been a difference. I keep my dolls in the dark pretty much because i have blackout blinds and curtains in my room, and only open the curtains once a week when my boyfriend comes over (even then i keep the blinds shut). So my dolls see very little sun light - pretty much when i photograph them and that is it.

There is less of a difference when you look after them, but there is ALWAYS a change because just over time they do yellow - even if you got a doll and never took it out of is box, it would still yellow in there because the oxygen in the air makes resin yellow.

    30. I'll post Lissa again, since she has another photoset finished :)

the whole story is here. ^^

and I have picture request again. can I have boys spam, please? boys alone, and boys with girls, and when girl is minifee and boy is made by another company. thanks in advance :)

    31. what made you sell her she's gorgeous

    32. Double post sorry...*_*

    33. I dont like floating heads, it makes me want to get another body(I am in my limit)and I know the person who adopted her would give her the attention she deserves.

    34. oh I understand I don't wanna get in the habit of getting floating heads. I am dying to see how a miyu would look after an andreja faceup but i have only seen one done from her when she was still practicing. Also your Mirwen were her eyes modded open or is that the oe version?

    35. Yes, I was a floating head hoarder before. Oh I think she has another one that she painted last year. My Mirwen is not modded, I want to mod her brow bones but nah,I'll leave it alone for now.

    36. sorry for the double post but can i have chloe next to rheia spam?

    37. [IMG]

    38. thank you I think I might actually get a chloe I was afraid her sculpt may be a bit mature for my other planned dolls but im sure the right faceup can pull it off

    39. @Safray
Well by the looks of her pretty summer sweater you certainly wouldn't have any trouble with the pattern for Lariat. Do you have a link to the pattern you used for the one Espe is wearing? Are you on Ravelry?

    40. Answering the call for mnf boy spam! This is an old picture of Tam and Taryn from last summer. Taryn is owned by Kearsy.

    41. I've been super busy since I got her so I've basically never photographed her, but I have a Miyu!

I'm sending her out for a new faceup soon, because her default is nice but it just doesn't hold up next to the amazing faceup Chien did on my Rheia.

    42. Hi everyone,

I haven't been here for a long time but I'am back again.

      Everyone has beautiful photo's again^^ Love them:D

So here a picture of my Eliya named Chua:

    44. Wow, she is lovely and looks so elegant. :)

    45. *to the naked eye* is what I meant when I said visual! I do agree though that there is a change just because chemically, there has to be one. ~laws of nature~ and all that. :)

    46. I think we should agree to disagree. Because personally i think it would actually be visible next to new resin.

    47. *gushes at all the cuties*

I'm hoping to finally own a MNF, I want Twin Shiwoos! [Subject to Change, but I'm pretty sure]

Does anyone have a female Shiwoo, I know the regular Delf Female Shiwoos can look a little bobble-headed, but I haven't heard anything on the MNF.

Pictures of female shiwoo please!! Or Twins of any mnf sculpt? ":D

    48. Such a cute girl! I think I know where the outfit is from but where is her cute wig from? Please and Thank You!

I love her faceup and outfit, Congrats! Do you make and sell these same type of outfits?

Whoops! Sorry about that, I lost track of the question...

I love this picture!! What molds are these?

I really like the face-up you have on this girl. It's a character from an Anime isn't it?

    49. Look at all the miyu's they are just soo adorable i can just squeeze them all. But now I unfortunatel have the Chloe bug my very first choice in the beginning. Hopefully I don't change my mind anymore. When do you thinFairyland will make more minifee sculpts?

    50. I would guess sometime in the next month and a half. More likely mid-July to late August but that's just a guess. I don't think their last event was very big so they are likely to push out another release or event to get more sales. They are definitely likely to release another Minifee next.

    51. Do you really think so? Mirwen wasn't all that long ago and they still haven't re-released the Chic line yet.

    52. Your dolls are all so beautiful! I lurk here all the time and practically drool over your dolls! I've been waiting for Rheia and also Dark Elf Soo. In the meantime, I've acquired twin VE Chloes. (Happy dance) One is NS and the other BW. I need to get a white body for one. Here is the other on a temporary body. In a few months (after I've moved and can unpack my supplies) I'll mod her eyes open. She doesn't have a name yet, but I think she's gorgeous!

    53. I'm thinking the same thing. Maybe not that soon but I'm sure they will have something new i n the Minifee line before the end of their anniversary year. I want to order a new Minifee but I am waiting to see what happens.

    54. Here's Brink with a new, geeky shirt I made for him. xD

    55. I second this! I want to see if triplets are possible. I have something planned.

    56. Well it's been about 7 or 8 months since their last release of Mirwen and July would put them at about 10 months. They have released 2 batches for Pukifee within that time, so I'd say that they are due for another release. I'm not so sure about Chic-line, if they will re-release it anytime soon. I think the issue is that the factory isn't that big so they have to be choosey with what they release.

Same here. I've been really thinking about ordering another minifee but I'm afraid that when I do, they will release a new Minifee fullset that I wished I had waited for.

    57. Kick (MNF Carl) just got a new outfit and wants to share a little picture of himself:

    58. I do have twin Shiwoos but neither of them are the standard OE face. Shannon was a SP opened by Ban Sidhe and Shane is a scar face. (and neither of them are on Fairyland bodies in this photo.)

    59. Thanks! Her outfit is from Kondoll and her wig is from Leeke World. I did the fishtail braids myself. :)

    60. SQUEEEE! I'm Sorry Brink, but I must have your shirt!! :aheartbea

Ah, good ol' Leeke World. Someday I will get wigs from them. The braids are a very nice!
