Artemus once more~


I made him his own wig using some scrap fabric I bought as a bundle on etsy.
Its not perfect, but I love it~
I just need to get some doublesided tape or something to keep it held on at the edges

I know! I consider myself SO lucky. It's like fate or something, since all I really ordered was a body for one of my floating heads. With the whole WS mix up I ended up getting my dream doll (although I had never intended her to be WS) for not one cent extra. It's a dream doll come true I tell ya.

I like that brown colour, and the style too, but that particular one has these insanely stubborn flyaway hairs that drive me crazy. It's actually a bit too tight too. But all the wig trials were more to know what to order than thinking any particular one was a keeper anyway.

I haven't yet decided who will do the faceup. I'm hoping to find someone with experience doing fantasy faceups on white skin. Maybe Xhanthi if I can manage to get a spot on her next commission round?

You know, I'm not usually a big fan of pink, especially not a soft pink like this, but I also think it really suits her. If I go with pink she'll be my first doll with an unrealistic hair colour.

I haven't picked a name yet. Nothing is really jumping out at me as THE name. A few I've pondered about but ...... well I'll run them past you:

Iquanori = "creator passion" or "inspiration
Nathronori = "weaving passion" or "weaving flame"

both of those would have a nickname of "Nori".

Or there is one that my five year old granddaughter suggested, "Panalia", "Panneliah", "Pannelia", "Panaliah". Spelling is a question as she is not yet writing let alone spelling! I think she pronounced it "Pan - ah - lee - aah". or .... was it "Pan - uh - lay -uh"?

Nicknames for that one of "Pan", or "Leah"?

Interesting analysis. I hadn't really thought of her that way. I really was thinking more of the fantasy princess type of girl, and that is more of the way her sweet half smile is coming across. But yeah, of all the wigs that one fits the best and is definitely of the best quality. It is very soft and managable. I also love the cut and the colour layering. I just thought it looked a little blah and boring for an elf? Other than that though, yeah, I love that wig on her too.

It's a Monique "Ally" wig in the colour listed as "Blondie". It's a fantastic wig. The 6-7 is fitting Jury perfectly. It also fits Luka and Mirwen well.

Wovenflame; I don't know if I ever said it, xD But I have been stalking this thread for awhile, so congrats on the Juri '08 head! That must have been a wonderful surprise. :3 I love the pink wig on her, but I'll head over to flickr to see what's going on.

Oh, and momochu will be doing her face-up! I currently have two other dolls by her, so I'm very excited (and nervous- as I always am when sending dolls out for face-ups!) !

I already miss her. I bonded with her so quickly!

The eyes came from 5Star Doll, they were in my little TongTong's head when he showed up at my house 2 years ago but they never looked right on him.
I guess its because they took up the entire eye.

But I do like them in Artemus~

 

No! I know my limitations. To mess with a Juri '08 myself would be inviting disaster.

Elda looks great, keisy. She makes my new girl want a faceup....and a name!

My other two Minifees both have shorter hair in natural shades, so long and pink might be nice for variety's sake.

Please excuse the different eyes. I had one of each in during the wig and eye trials. I've decided on the blue ones on the right, for now. The purple "SuperNova" on the left is pretty, but it doesn't fit into the eye socket well enough and is gappy.

You know, that's funny because even though it's my favourite wig around here no one seems to end up wearing it! I like it on the Juri, but I like the pink on her better. I think I'm working my way toward ordering her a better quality, long, pink wig.

It is wonderful to have an entire new girl to get to know when I was really only expecting a body for an existing character. And now I have to save up for another body again! <--- that part's a bit exasperating!

 

That is sooooo adorable! Love that hair color.

I honestly didn't intend for him to go this way in style but I'm happy with it either way~
I just wish I could figure out a way to be able to show off his ears with the wig but its just so fluffy @___@

 

I love Artemus, and not just for his name! He is very cheerful, and Karsh is one of the most wonderful sculpts, if only they made him a human head ;,;...but You're are right, Elf Ears+Fluffy Wig= Fluffy Wig only, in most photos. My newest elf doll is a Soom Lig, so obviously there is no problem with seeing his ears, but most of the other boys have to have their wigs specifically styled to show off the ears. Kinda sounds like me when I am at my Hair Stylist, she calls me strange because one of my few requests is that I can see my ears at all times...I know, why, it's not like I have elf ears or anything? I dunno, I am crazy like that...

 

I love Artemus, Eevee. Those gorgeous eyes just draw you right in. I'm having the same problem with my favourite wigs for my new girl. The one I like the most at the moment unfortunately does not show her cute ears.

Have you chosen a name for her yet, bearpicnic? I'm having a terrible time deciding on one for my new WS Juri, and yet I really like to name my dolls right away so that I don't get in the habit of calling them by their sculpt name. Works okay for one like "Chloe", but not so great with "Juri '08" hmm?

Anyway, my as-yet-unnamed Juri '08 elf-girl is a little embarrassed about her lack of faceup and proper wig, but she would like to invite everyone to come and see her head-box opening story.

We're leaving for Panama City in the morning. I'm so excited and still a little nervous about taking Marcy. But I figure if I didn't take her I'd regret it since I have separation anxiety whenever I stay at my boyfriend's house. She's pretty excited, as well :P

 

I'm only guessing of course, but I think they are probably not allowed to "sell" an event head. They were meant as gifts and I just bet there are restrictions for the retailers on what they can do with any such heads they may have received from Fairyland.

I managed to get one as kind of an apology gift from DDE. I had ordered an in stock natural skin Minifee body but what had arrived was a white skin body. They offered to have me return it at their cost or to accept a gift head as an apology and to complete the doll I otherwise would've had no head for. I said the only head I would be interested in in WS would be the Juri '08. I really didn't think they'd have one but, luck was with me and they did.

I have both and there isn't a whole lot of difference between the two in my opinion. The large bust isn't ridiculously huge like it is with some doll companies. I won't have time today, but if no one gets one up for you in the meantime I'll do that for you tomorrow.

Well that's another thing, Keisy. This body was "in stock" at DDE, and for how long I do not know. It may not be a 2012 body at all. It did have #1 (man hands in my opinion) rather than the usual #3 hands that come with "body only" female Minifee purchases, so I'm wondering if it was some kind of a return, or unpaid preorder from a while ago at DDE. It's a wonderfully solid poser! I love it! It's much more stable than the natural skin body Candace and Shannon share. But I can't guarantee that it is actually a 2012 though. The resin match is almost perfect with the Juri '08, with the head being ever so slightly creamier in some lighting situations. Very, very small difference though. You'd neve see it unless you were looking hard for it.
