Fairyland Minifee MNF Discussion Part 21

Pokori- Lol I'm not patient by any stretch of the imagination, but personally I find the 2-3 month wait more bearable than the shipping time of a few days - a week (depending on where you order from).
If you can afford them all at once though, I say go for it. For me, personally, saving that much would be a heartache, because I'm -terrible- at saving, and generally if I have money for -a- doll, I will buy one, otherwise the temptation and money will start burning in my pocket.
Also, that's personally why I like ordering from DDE 'cause I can pay in increments, it's less hassle on my wallet, and maybe that helps with the wait 'cause I'd be paying it off instead of focusing on "I paid a lot of money, where's my stuff" mentality.

Personally the most I've ever had come to me at once was 2 full minifees --though technically I had 3 come in that week. I didn't find dressing them/etc to be much of a hassle, but I already had a decent stock built up, so that wasn't really something I had to worry about. The only complaint was that the smell of resin potency was enough to give me a headache. And because the 2 new ones didn't have any faceups, I still -really- don't take photos of them (though obviously I still do occasionally xD); one of them has a craptastic faceup that I gave her; ew. And the other doesn't have anything; and I'm out of MSC to do something about it.
So that's the only drawback - for me.

 

I tend to go for dolls one by one, it gives me more time to bond with them individually. When I was into OT dolls back then, when I bought more than two at a time, I ultimately ended up selling them in the end. I'm glad I learned my lesson from them because BJDs is a much more expensive hobby, but selling isn't all that hard either, just inconvenient at times.

 

So two at a time would be best I guess? I guess it is more of a mental thing. You see three of them are best friends and they do everything together it would almost feel wrong if I left one out. I can imagine them saying "What about me? You guys left me" Then the other two are the antagonist but become friends with the other 3 later. So would you guys think it would be smart if I ordered the 3 first and then order the other two when I get more money. The wait shouldn't be that terrible If I have 3 to play with already right?

That sounds like a good plan, get the 3 first, then the other two after. The wait for the two won't be as bad as the wait for the three since you'll have dolls to play with to distract yourself!

May I request some custom chloe and Miyu spam? My Luka needs a girlfriend Once again I am stuck between the two. I love chloe because she is one of the most versatile sculpts. The only thing that bothers me is may her sculpt be too mature for luka. And she's so mainstream it seems like everyone has a chloe and I mean EVERYONE. But she is so beautiful if they stop creating her I would just cry. I also love Miyu's sculpt she is so cute and pulls off my character's personality but I am scared I may not love her long and she is a doll I don't see enough of and if I do it is pretty much the default not that many custom miyus.

 

pokori - I actually think that's a perfect idea To get the 3 together. That's partially why I ordered the 2 I did together; 'cause Kief (Marcia) + Brad (the body Chloe is on/Chloe filling in XD) are best friends and roommates, so it was just fitting to get -them- together, vs. any of my other characters I have planned.
Plus yes Having some to play with will definitely make the waiting go a lot faster
Out of curiosity, what sculpts were you planning on for your characters?

And yes T__T It kind of turned me off that -everyone- has a Chloe, but I am oh-so-glad I got mine ^__^ that I don't care what anyone else has

 

My three minifee's are a boy Luka boy Karsh and girl miyu. The last two will be my ws boy mirwen and my ws boy marcia dreamy face.

 

Adorable! Did you make her dress and jewelry? I love the wig too, may I ask where you got it? Please and Thank You!

 

Can someone please tell me what wig size shushu wears? Is it 6-7 or 7-8? I need to buy a wig before she gets here!! Thanks you all.

 

Mine was fine wearing 7-8 sized jpopdolls wigs, but different companies run a little big or a little small so its hard to really know. :\ Shushu does have a small head though!

 

In Leeke wigs my Shushu swims in 7-8. 6-7 fit her best

And I finally got around to giving my boy a face. Had to edit to make it decent but you can't even see his freckles, I'll probably go over them again. Meh.

Thanks! I've actually kind of fallen for these. I'm surprised she was sent with blue eyes. Though I ordered some bluish-green colored eyes in 14mm I'm waiting on. If I don't like those I'll definitely find these in a smaller size. :P

Anyway, late to the party buut whatevers :>
I got these two at the same time;

Since I'd owned them both as SDs before hand and didn't want to have one without the other when I was able to reshell them again (can't imagine not having one without the other now!) since I was already really attatched to their characters, and I knew I loved the size and Minifee in general I didn't have any problems bonding with them (although Finnian is the most spoilt)

And then another time when I got Juri I'd ordered LTF to get him so got 2 and a third body-snatching doll to play with and I never really bonded with them (the LTF) ended up rehoming one and a year later I'm finding I still never pay attention to the other :/

So I guess it's hit and miss. But I would rather order one at a time or in pairs, nothing sucks more than being excited for a doll, spending that much money and then finding you have no time for them :c

I love them together! And their characters seem like they wouldn't be able to stand being apart from each other for very long, so it seems fitting to order them together :3

I found a Juri 2011 from a seller in my country, I'm so happy!

Problem is, the poor thing doesn't have a body yet and probably won't for a while... Also, I don't have the money left over to buy her a faceup, so for now she has to suffer my own poor faceup skills. But I still think she's so cute!

 

Did anyone else read that Zoala is officially closed ? I'm so sad, I was just ready to order and was waiting for some notice they reopened

Leeza Kat I've never heard of Zoala, what type of shop were they?

 

They were akin to HDS. She had a few different designs but quite a bit seemed similar. She switched styles and models and has taken off in an entirely different direction

Isn't it just a shame? I adore her clothes, and am fortunate enough to have a few of her marvelous vests and hats. I just wish the jodhpurs I'd gotten from her suited someone here.

Haha, thanks! I'm surprised how much attitude the mirwen version of Mao has, most Mirwens I see are really sweet looking. But Mao looks like he's always demanding something, like he's expecting you to say something that's going to make him mad and he can't wait to hit you with a sharp tongued comeback. I'd love to see more "tough" faced mirwens. I know a lot of people have Mirwen boys planned, I can't wait until they start showing up here in spam!

 

I LUV Luvbouy! He made me think of getting a karsh for Mao's reshell before I settled on Mirwen, I love his attitude.

 

Anybody have an opinon as to what MNF sculpt is similar in looks to shushu? My characters are sisters so I wanted to know. Thanks!!
