1. Quick Photo Spam!

2. :D OMGosh! All the beautiful minifies are :aheartbea! Here is another cell phone pics of Sparrow. <3 I promise to get some good ones of her soon with a real camera!

3. I feel ya with the different character idea- to be honest, I've been kicking around the thought of modding my DES sleeping head's eyes open and creating a new character from that. Time will tell whether or not I actually do it though. :P

4. Wovenflame I love the outfit! Especially the embroidery!
And there is no rule agains dolls playing multiple characters right!?

5. I'm trying to work out how to take nice pics of Moira without making her look over-exposed. It's a bit of a slow process but I couldn't resist showing off her new wig :)

6. Arabaster! (MNF Juri '10 boy :)

7. Arabaster is so cool! :)
Here's my Juri with her smile :)

8. Your dolls are so lovely!! I love how they're sporting such lively bright colors! So pretty and refreshing! :fangirl:

9. [IMG]

I don't know if you remember her, but this is my Miyu called
Élodie. I've had her for almost 3 years now and this past year, I've not been paying any attention to her at all! I'll be moving out of my parents' home for good soon (and hopefully in with my boyfriend) so I don't know whether to sell her and save the money I get from her as I think she may be better off in a different home. I can't decide!

Edit: I don't know why the photo doesn't work :( Anyone care to help me?

10. You have to right-click the PICTURE and copy-paste that address - not the link to the Flickr page where it's located. :)

11. It seems a lot of people have been falling out of love with the miyu sculpt lately gasp I hope I don't I think she is adorably lovely

12. [IMG]
Gahh the Juri11 spam is killing me, i'm slowly falling for it... Juris are awesome.♥

13. your juri is so pretty I wish I had one they are so hard to find

14. She's so lovely! Where did you find her adorable shirt?!

15. Be warned. It doesn't take long before these new characters to start demanding their own bodies!

I hope not, Elcia, 'cause I just found all the pieces (some of them already embroidered and sewn!) for another outfit along this same lines, but in blue. So if Gunhilda decides to stay she would at least have one additional outfit to wear. So far I'm having better luck dressing her than I am the "real" intended character, Candace Mirwen, who is supposed to be a business professional. I needed tailored suits and straight skirts for that character.

a2333 by wovenflame, on Flickr

It amazes me how versitile this faceup has turned out to be. I can get this Mirwen to go from 20 something business woman to 14 year old "old country" gal with the change of an outfit and wig!

All this multi-character body sharing makes me think that once I have at least two Minifee bodies I might have to look into getting an elf head so I can make fun elven/mystical outfits too. Eeee, the possibilities are endless!

Quoth, Moria's wig really seems to suit her.
I've found that the best possible picture taking scenerio for me, a photography clutze that goes by the "by guess and by golly" technique, has been to take outdoor pictures on a bright, but overcast day. It gives the good lighting without casting shadows or creating harsh glare.

I love Arabaster's glasses, bulletsBANQ. Is he on a girl body?

Your Juri looks so dreamy there, Jeje82.

16. Wow! What a look! He's so intense!

17. Thank you! :) And your girl is adorable! The juri '11 is growing on me! :aheartbea

Thank you for the compliments! ;)

I know what you mean by the change of a wig or clothes! They do wonders! And your girl is looking great as a country gal! :)

And thanks~ Arabaster in on a non-muscular a-line boy body though XD
(Does he look like he has boobs? Lol!)

Thank you so much! : D

18. I love the darkness around his eyes your dolls are so colorful

19. I think it's the way the top of his shirt bunches! Lol. If I hadn't known already I probably would have thought the same!

20. Thanks! :D

Oh okay, ahahha XD I'm used to my boys being called out as girls but this is pretty funny since apparently he's wearing a tight shirt that makes him has non-existent boobies.

21. I know we have a shoe thread but I don't think it gets much traffic so posting here to be safe.
So I just joined this group order for 2079 Realms and I want to know if anyone has ever had shoes from them. If you have info or pictures of a particular pair I'd love to see/read about how well they fit.

At $8-10 a pair the price is well worth the wait despite the possibility that they wont fit.

I am going to get these:

22. Ooops! Yeah, I thought that maybe he was on a "cutie bust" female body.

Sienimies I love your girl's sweater. Is it hand knit?

23. I had seen Build-a-Bear Small Fry clothes mentioned in this thread so, when I saw some this past weekend, I picked up a bathing suit. I was very skeptical but took a chance for $6. I was pleasantly surprised that it fits Shannon perfectly!

24. It looks like a very cool site, it's really good if you're ordering in a group ordering, seeing that they only sell with a minimum of 10 pairs a certain type of shoe. I have seen a lot of the shoes on this site sold on other different sites. Since I don't own a MNF yet, I can't say anything, but there's a good chance that they could fit.

25. I have 4 pairs of shoes from 2079 Realm and they fit my MNF girls perfectly with some room for socks/stockings, if desired.

26. Can't wait to see her in color!! She's beautiful! Is she a chloe by any chance?

27. I was so happy to finally take some nice pictures with Mert at a historical site today:aheartbea

28. What a cute little bikini, sealion. I bet it looks far better on Shannon than it would on any ol' bear.

I'm considering buying a year's pass for a nearby garden AmiSi. It would be so nice to be able to take my girl out like that for a photo shoot on a regular basis.

My yard doesn't have a whole lot of flowers, so I have to make do with the trees unless we go out somewhere.

29. AmiSi I love that color wig. <3 *3* You make me want to play with the mohair I have in that color now.. but no one is wearing it xD

30. question what size eye does dreaming marcia wear? and should it be high dome or low dome?

31. That looks really great on her i think, i wouldn't have known it was meant for something else. And wow $6, over here the outfits cost £5 which is about $8. But it is still a bargain compared to a lot of over clothes. Plus you don't have to worry about shipping, which can be expensive.

I mentioned it and showed my Shushu cutie bust wearing the pink heart PJ set.

32. pokori, I know, it was very hard for me to get Lillan too! :S I first got myself a white skin version from an auction and then I tried to trade it to a normalskin one for months.. But then I got Lillan happy ending!♥
thegreatkait,Wovenflame, a finnish hobbyist made it out of something, I actually do believe it was made out of a sock! I love it though, its cute and well made!

But yeah, if I someday get a chance, I would love to buy another Juri08, so I could have one that could wear other kinda clothes since Lillan has her own style and she just looks weird in dark clothes and different hair. :S
[IMG]

33. We don't have one of those stores nearby but next time I'm in Vancouver I'll have to take a look. That PJ set is really cute and you couldn't make one for that$ if you had to buy the material.

Oh, that's not the first time I've been fooled by a sock sweater, Sienimies, and I knit! Done with care they can turn out lovely. I've made a few myself.

If you're tired of seeing my new Minifees so often, don't worry. If my LittleFees are anything to go by, I'll eventually calm down and the spam won't be so frequent.
;)

34. Cool pic, I love the way the tree is so twisted. I wish I wasn't so afraid to take outdoor shots!

35. Of all the photographs I took today (over 60) that one from the earlier post is my favorite from the artistic point of view, though not my favorite of the doll. It's an old apple tree that has gotten gnarly from years of pruning each spring.

This one below is in a lilac tree.

a2395 by wovenflame, on Flickr

What is it you're afraid of with the outdoor photo shoots? Is it the sunlight? I don't spend a whole lot of time with them in direct sunlight. I also try to choose bright, yet overcast, days. As far as getting the dolls dirty, I haven't yet had any lasting problems. I had to shake a bit of moss out of her wig and I've occasional had to wipe a bit of dirt off feet if they are bare, but nothing that a damp cloth didn't take care of. I'm very careful that their faces are not put at risk, and if they are posed anywhere high up it's not in a position where they are likely to topple over.

Except once. I had a Pukifee fall from a high porch railing in a gust of winter wind, but luckily she fell into a snow drift and was not damaged! New rule: ....no high spots on a blustery day.

36. I love her hair!!
and this photo is so sweet for the season ;)

37. her juri is beautiful where did she get her eyes?

Blond fiber? by sophiesoliday, on Flickr

Some long overdue Kyle spam. He looks pretty good as a blond, but I want to give him a different face-up.

39. Actually I am just too self conscious to be seen in public with my dolls, I'd feel embarrassed. u__u I live in an apartment so I don't have my own backyard or anything, so if I go outside with my dolls people will see me. I'm fine being seen spraying doll heads to paint because that's a craft, productive kind of thing, people can understand that stuff. But seeing a grown woman posing a doll and taking pictures will get weird looks. x.x

40. Funnily enough, that's kind of what I was thinking of. I would like to have the new character as a sort of bright and colorful punk rock kind of girl, and I would like to get her an A-line body with either a small or cutie bust. I absolutely adore the large bust body, but I did have to suede the front and back of the chest piece to get it to pose properly. I would probably have the character of the modded sleeping head be a cousin to the regular version. :)

Botflybaby-I completely understand! I too live in an apartment, and have been seen outside taking pictures of my dolls. Yes it got some weird looks, but you know, that was my worst-case scenario and now it's over! Besides, you should enjoy whatever hobby it is you're into, and don't worry about what others think of you! From what I've seen your dolls are awesome, and I'm sure we'd all love to see more of them! :)

41. They are enchanted doll urethane eyes :)

42. New photo-story here

43. gasp I should have known lol i love enchanted eyes

44. Wovenflame, silvermasques, and Nikki'sNewObsession (btw, love your chloe twins!) thank you! I have always loved a rich wine color for a wig, and especially in mohair:)

Mert, being revering of some bleeding hearts:aheartbea

45. Ee~ Nikki, your twins are so amazing together! Love the photostory!

Waiting to Fall - Chapter Three by ❥Crazy Kimochi, on Flickr

Totally just missed the other posts, so I'm editing!

Ahh, Glowbee, I LOVE your Juri!! Juri '08 is such a perfect sculpt! I hope to get her someday~

Yay for Kyle, sophiesoliday!! He's definitely the right sculpt for the character I have in mind!

46. Oh Aoife is so pretty, Glowbee, I love her soft, natural faceup.

Really sophiesoliday, I think he looks great just as he is? What kind of changes were you hoping for?

Ooooooh, now I understand. Oddly enough, even though I'm a little shy and very much an introvert, it doesn't bother me to take my dolls out in public. Most people who see them seem quite intrigued......they only think you're crazy if they find out how expensive the dolls are. LOL! I find that even non-doll-lovers appreciate the artistic beauty of a lovely resin doll. Mind you, all of my crew are pretty ordinary looking. Only my RealPukies have obvious elf ears. None of the dolls have pupil-less eyes, odd coloured skin, or fangs to scare away the casual observer. Anyone with pediophobia, stays well enough away that I need not worry about them. LOL

When I take a doll out in public (and it's not all that often....a few times a year at most) they are carried in a protective doll case, like the treasured art objects they are. I don't talk to them, push them around in a baby carriage, or put them in a shopping cart or baby carrier. I think if you treat your dolls like art people will respect them like art. Treat them as children then yeah, people will look at you like you are crazy. If you are just photographing them in pretty settings like public gardens I don't think you would have any flack from observers.

Oh yeah...if I could afford lots of Minifee bodies (and had the space for them) I'd love to make different characters from the sleeping heads. I already have a RealPuki Soso couple. The man (and he is a little man...with a beard even) is made from the sleeping faceplate. His girlfriend has the open eyed faceplate.

Great photo story, Nikki'sNewObsession. You've handled the subject so tenderly that I have to wonder if you have recently experienced a loss of a loved one yourself.

She looks lovely there among the bleeding hearts, AmiSi, Like her wig was colour coordinated with her surroundings.

48. crazykimochi, thank you and I always love to see your sweet couple:)

Wovenflame, thank you too:) Also, i'm glad you noticed her color coordination with the flowers. Being a beauty/plant goddess, I designed Mert to have green eyes and red hair, like roses have red petals and green leaves/stem(although her genes did play a role in her color choices, but I did want her to have colors that go well with plants;)).

49. thats terrible! i love my miyu! and though this pic looked much better on my phone while editing it... -.-;;; have a zoe!

with some kyle spam for kimochi! ;)

50. Love the spam everyone! CrazyKimochi, Brink and Zephii are my favorite couple :3

So, I'm having a dolly fear. I have really long fingernails, and I cut them the day Marcy came, but I'm still completely afraid of touching her head for fear of my nails somehow messing up her faceup. I don't even want to touch her wig because I'm afraid it will move and my nails could scrape her face. Can her faceup be really easily scraped? I remember with my OT Pullips, my nails would leave some shiny scratches on their faces. I'm afraid something like that may happen to Marcy. >.>

51. goodness she is lovely

52. Thank you so much!!

Thanks dear~ As for the nails thing, I know some people use toothbrushes to fix hair so they don't have to touch the dolly faces~ ^^

Also, <3<3<3LIGHTS<3<3<3

53. I can't get enough of her - so more Jessica, although I am waiting on a corset that is just her color ^^ and I need to get her more stylish clothing to take more photos - this one will have to do! :D

:aheartbea

54. I really love see all of the Minifee spam!!! It warms my heart and keeping me happy while me and the other resin kids wait for Uzi to come home, or at least another update. I want my Chloe!!! :...(
As for the topic of dolls as art, I treat mine like art in public but I still bring them out to keep me company when I'm doing homework and stuff at the dorm. I do talk to them sometimes, but never in public. My dolls are more than dolls to me--they are the only way I can bring my characters to life, and they means something to me. I don't take my dolls out in public (unless it's at a con or doll meet in their bag)--I have issues with people potentially mishandling or dropping them, except when my mom took another doll of mine (OT here whose has pupilless eyes) to a Christmas party last year and she was well-received. Luckily, my mom KNOWS her price and kept her safe. But I agree that if you treat your dolls a certain way, people are gonna look at you a certain way.

55. Shuklyah, I really love the colouring in the way you are styling Jessica. She looks so citrisy delicious!

Oh don't get me wrong. My dolls certainly aren't locked up in cabinets being stored as museum art objects or anything. I have them on top of a piece of furniture that is right in the most high traffic area of our house (corner of the area between our living room and our computer desk). I always pose them interacting in some way and they get moved around frequently. They seem very "real" to me, appear to have personalities, likes and dislikes, and are more to me than "just" dolls, but I do know that they are objects. I sometimes imagine what they might be saying to each other (usually prompted by my 5 year old granddaughter), but I don't talk to them. I don't think that it's wrong to talk to your dolls if you want to, but if it is done in public by adults, expect odd looks.

56. pokori - I didn't see this answered, but my dreaming Marcia has in 14mms in this photo, and I rather like the fit.
