G.Baby, your Mirwen is beautiful! I absolutely love her faceup, you did a wonderful job with her. I am patiently waiting (mostly patiently, at least) for mine, who should be here in April-ish.

 

omg this is terrible I have been trying to get my planned woosoo a girlfriend. At first it was chloe but then I thought they would look weird together....then Miyu was my next idea and they seem perfect but now all this mirwen spam......I can't take it anymore lol. I have to stay strong and keep my miyu. Save me with some miyu spam please!!!

I have a photo request... can I see some Shushus in different eye sizes? Preferably 12mm and 14mm. What do you think looks best in a Shushu?

@Salmon - My Shushu wears 14mm and I pretty much dig that size for all my girls and boy - although my Mirwen is wearing 12mm currently. Here's a sample shot of Abigail (my Shushu):

Such lovely girls, Congrats! Who did their face-ups?

 

I am having the same problems with my Karsh and my 2 MNF A-line bodies. I can't even get them to sit, let alone stand without all the flopping.

This past weekend I went to a local dolly meet up and I showed my Karsh to some more exprienced doll owners. I was told he was way too loose! And that when you pull a leg out to look at the elastic, it should only show about an inch, and it was doing way more than that!

So, I was shown how to re-string and hot glue and he stands very well now! I can almost trust him to stand on his own without a stand. I use a stand anyway, just to be safe. Couldn't believe the difference!

Now it makes me love him more cuz I can play with him without getting like this:

I'm gonna hit my Juri with those fixes and the other MNF body I have. Looking forward to much more dolly love!

This is him and my boy from Impldoll. He could not sit like this before! (someday I will upload real pics, not just camera phone ones...)

I'm so glad to hear of more glue-sueding success! Eventually I'll get up my nerve. I'm going to my first doll meet soon and maybe can get some hands-on experience and advice like you did.

Awesome to know about how to check the elastic. I can't even get mine to show an inch— I have to pull really hard (and carefully!). And today the little booger snapped her legs into seated position on me (like *boing!* 90-degree *thwack* as the legs come up!) while I was attempting to put her in standing position while holding her. So I'm pretty sure she's way too tight.

Were you able to reuse your strings or does any restringing job require new ones?

@sephyelysian - I often find the Seorin sculpt intimidating - and yours is no diferent, that is one killer stare! Gorgeous faceup by the way!

@auntbear - Oh yes - I have been wanting a freckly girl for a while now - thanks ^^

 

Mine did not, and I was under the impression you dont unless the string was really worn. She just showed me how to pull him apart, pull out the strings for the leg parts and how to tighten it (tie it up higher on the neck piece) and then how to put him back together again. Oh and that MNF's are a little bit of a pain cuz they have more parts, joints and such, to keep track of to put back together again correctly

It wasn't hard at all! I thought the HG was harder, cuz you are trying to get glue in these weird hard to get at places. Stringing was pretty strait forward.

It was just scary cuz its unknown, and your afraid you are going to do something to reck your $500+ doll! It takes really simple tools to use for it. Jewelry making tools, some string and/or different sizes of jewelry wire to help pull the string back through the doll parts when putting it back together.

I feel confident in doing the hot glueing on my own again, but will ask for help again on the stringing just until I get used to doing it correctly. Then I will make fixes on my own

Restringing is super easy. I actually just resturng my doll in 20 min or less because I needed to tighten the strings. XD I usually use some floss to help the string through the limbs, haha.

 

Then Aislinn is too loose. I have no problems getting elastic to show if I pull. I guess there is nothing else to to but stop being a chicken and tighten the strings. Also I think I'll add the kips at least into her shoulder joints to get the little extra reach.
She sits just fine, to stand though she will only after I fuss with her knees and hip sockets enough. Hold her by the legs and she's more than likely to just fold over.

And I know, when they stand doing insane things for what we would think a free standing doll can do is when they prove their awesomeness.
I have a couple pictures of Aislinn standing in an awesome ballet lunge, arms up and back arching.... It's fantastic but she's was topless at the time and I can't trust her to hold it again for a new picture.

Um Hello mini fee owners. I'v been thinking about getting a mini fee, off-handedly for some time now, but after I attended a doll meet-up recently and actually got to play with one I AM UTTERLY IN LOVE! They're so pretty and delicate looking, but their faces have such sass and personality! I'm really keen to get one now, I'm just not sure who I like best ><
I'm contemplating between Mirwen, Miyu and Rena. I see allot of Miyu on the boards, and all the Mirwen spam just now was wonderful! But was there any chance of some Rena pic spam to help me decide?

 

Shuklyah I gotta chime in here too and say your Mirwen is so beautifully unique! Love how the freckles turned out! Really nicely done!

I never thought I would get a minifee. I love this doll! Eventually she will be sent for a very feminine faceup.
The spam in here is spectacular.

 

Can someone please tell me what comes in the MNF box? Is it just the doll?

 

The MNF Boxes have Foam inserts and padding that they stay nice and tucked into, as well as a Manual. The doll too of course. The only extras that might be in the box are if you order extras.. Like hands, feet or other heads.

 

they do come with eyes too you probably already knew that but just in case..

I was testing all of my dolls eyes with each other and my Chloe has officially found her true eyes! I love this girl more and more each and every day!
I apologize in advance for the quality/posing. I just wanted to get a quick pic and the lighting wasn't that great!

 

Delurking to show off my Juri'11, Riddle. I love the shapes and forms of his face, and doing the faceup was so much fun. ...I was a little hesitant to post this however, considering Juri'11 didn't seem too popular haha. I love it though, and I'm so happy I finally got my hands on it.

Not a Juri'11 fan myself but I have to say that is a fantastic picture. The huge grin is perfect for the angle of the shot and title.
It's my first favorite picture of the sculpt.
