@NikkisNewObsession - Thanks! Originally the red wig was intended for her, but then I thought I would make my Mirwen wear it, but then I decided to put it on her instead, and it was love at first sight!

@Hypercurve - I purchased the cute shirt from the talented GYHM! I love her hand-made clothes! The shorts are also from her collection!

@GoroChaggi - Your girl is styling! I love her combination of clothes!! The blue eyes fare well with her - I agree!

@pokori - I would love to see a Rix though, I don't think I have ever seen one in circulation...kind of a rare mold?

A few questions, actually ^__^

Do any of Dollzone's resins fit either of Fairylands' resins?


I'm curious to see the resin match for both Fairyland's Beauty White and Normal resin compared to Dollzones' resins, do any of Dollzone's colors match at all? Could any of Dollzone's colors match with blushing?

And, has anyone made a Dollzone MSD/Minifee hyrbid?

I REALLY love Dollzone's new MSD bodies...I'm wondering, with or without modding, could a Fairyland Minifee head fit Dollzone's MSD body (especially the new flower MSD body?) Can it fit with or without a neck piece?? Modding's okay, I've got a knack for making things fit onto funny things ^___^

Anyone have any thoughts on this? ^^

 

@ pokori - Oh totally understandable! Karsh is so awesome!

 

ingy - fl white is very white, while dz white is pretty creamy so unless it's an older fl head on a brand new dz body I don't think it'd be likely to match well.
I know of people who have fl heads on older dz ns (ns pink I think maybe, but I'm not sure) bodies, but they've changed their resin color a little I believe so I'm not sure what matches what now.

I've been looking for the right eyes for my girl and these came in the mail today.



I think she looks like she has crazy eyes! x) and they're even brighter in real life.
Not exactly the look I'm going for so my quest is not complete..

I got my boy today! He is currently name less, wig less, blank, wearing temporary clothes and eyes, but he's here!

 

Yeah, White to white works pretty well as long as it's new. they can then mellow at the same rate.

the normal tones are harder to match. Older NS matches DZ NS-yellow newer matches NS pink more.

 

@ Luciana Jellyfish: Yay for the breakaway boy! :3 I love the eyes he currently has in! Such a nice shade of purple.

Hi everyone! I'm lurking in the background because frankly, this thread moves so fast it scares me! LOL. I love watching the pictures go by though!

Um, I want to share something. I just posted in the newbie forum (because there was an ongoing thread on the subject) about what I found for a doll case. I was watching KittyBlue's videos on her ResinSoul dolls, and admiring how she can keep them in their own individual cases (because ResinSoul sends their dolls out in their own case!) and knew that was how I wanted to store my dolls. So I thought about what I might find that would be like that and I realized a flutecase cover might work. I ordered some off ebay and they came today. Even my JID girls fit in them! I didn't expect that, already knew the boys wouldn't. But anyway, they're really nice, and cost about 12.99 each with free shipping.



It's lined with a soft fur and gives pretty good protection like wrapping in a fluffy blanket, but not super protection. You'd want to put this in something more sturdy if traveling.

Just wanted to spread the info if anyone else finds that shelf-sitting dolls makes them nervous and/or doesn't like the dust This is a nice option for me, I like it a lot. Now to find a cheapish case for larger dolls!

OMGosh, I love this idea! A few questions: Does it have any straps to hold the Flute? And they are about 16 inchs in length then? And to store them, are you using a face protector?

My Impldoll came with a doll carrier too, but the inside is black so I don't use it all that often. Its pretty nice though, I do like it and want more!

 

Hi JediSpiceGissia, yes they come with a shoulder strap, I folded mine up and put them in the side pocket near her feet because there's a bit more room on that end.

Oh, wait, I misunderstood! No it does not have any straps inside, but this is a very cozy fit for only one doll at a time. Straps really aren't needed, as the doll won't slip down or anything.

Ha ha Mendo! I really wanted to spread this info. It's not for everyone, but for me, I like having them in little safe "beds" ;-) and I figure some other people might like the idea too (though it's been done before I'm sure!

Thanks! He actually came with blue glass eyes, but I had these lying around and decided to try them in him. They're 14s and I might end up trying some 12s, but I'm not sure yet. I don't think I'm going to get any of the other scar pieces (at least, I don't have any plans for it right now). I plan for him to be a jester, but I have to wait for the weather to cooperate before I can give him a faceup.

 

@ Lucianna Jellyfish: They look nice with the white skin. :3 Well weather better permit soon! I'd love to see him with a faceup and such! A jester sounds like such a unique idea for the Breakaway!

Haven't been here in a while, but I've been lurking for pictures. Love em!
I have been toying with my Marcia, and last week I had an impulse buy accident and bought a Dollzone Moment. Needless to say, his arms are awesome, but I already knew I'd think he's be too cluttered with all his parts. I wanted Ffion to be a muse/nymph/fairy type of thing, so I gave her part of his arms. Love it X_x can't wait to paint them.
For him I'm hoping to get him some boy arms or even arms (would love the one with the claw hand) as they are more muscle-y and half a centimeter longer than the girl arms X_x silly girl arms.
Resin match isn't that great, but Ffion has yellowed a bit I think, because I have some hands that are more white than her arms.

 

The mods have had reports from members about overlarge images being posted to this thread. I have already asked several members to repost their lovely but very large images in a smaller size.

Please think of your fellow members who have slower internet connections, larger pictures slow the forum down for them considerably. Extremely large images distract from the on-going discussion.

Feel free to post a smaller image and include a link to the image in a larger size if you feel the larger image has more detail, but we really do encourage that members post much smaller images than has been happening lately.

slvrdragon-- Ooh, what a unique faceup! She's very pretty. What kind of eyes does she have? It's hard to tell from the angle. Do they have blackened sclera?

eiramleira-- Have you tried repositioning the eyes so the pupils aren't so exposed? Those eyes seem to have really tiny pupils, so maybe positioning them a little differently (more up or to the sides) would help with the "staring" issue she has going on. ;3

mendo-- Can't remember if I said it and don't know if you saw it, but I finished catching up on the photostories. ;3 It seems it really was almost exactly a year ago that you made your last photostory! I pretty much started from the earlier photostories and worked my way up. You just had to go and end right with Chase's big revelation! No wonder you have the tiny preggo belly on her! Speaking of, how did you make that? Is it a standard torso belly with extra resin added or a sculpted piece all its own? From one of the belly-exposed photos of Meryll it looked like it was definitely a full-on resin piece, rather than anything just attached under the shirt.

And I can now say, with lots of research (read: gobbling up photostories), my favorite characters are Brodwyn, Alice, and occasionally Seraph.

In other news, I love all the photo spam! It makes me want to get more photos of Vana, though that will have to wait for now.

 

I'm having a serious debate with myself. orz Its so silly, too. My character for my Breakaway boy is intended to be a human who is cursed, [based on his backstory that has yet to be revealed]. My intention for the time skip of about 300 years to current day is for him to blend in with humans in busy areas like cities and lively towns, hiding his abnormal scars etc. Well he's a street performer, [what a great way to blend in LOL] and I wanted to him have dyed hair. Intended for him to have a berry/wine colored fur with with frosted tips. I wanted him to have human colored eyes, though. I was thinking grey, maybe his scar eye could be a lighter/whiter color. But I also considered this purple color. Because its so- I love it so much. But maybe I love it and its not intended for HIS character. So conflicted lol. So I want your opinion on the two different eyes with the wig I would like to use.

"occasionally seraph" is pretty accurate LOL i can't say how the bellies are done, but so far keishi is doing chase and carleigh's bellies differently

are you modding the scar eye open? because otherwise you can't really see the eye underneath. (especially a dark color) and a purple eye would make a wine-colored wig look more purple than red.

@ mendokusai: No I don't plan on modding the eye open. Hm. Now that you mention the color looking different based on the eye color, I'm leaning more so on the grey. Hmn... Yeah, and I guess dark colors wouldn't show to well. Hmn. >:

mendo-- ... Carleigh is adorable! Will she potentially be part of the stories if you and keishi pick them up again later, or is she something separate? (I.E. Is she one of the yet-unseen characters from Meryll's world?) (And don't worry about the bellies thing; I was just curious, because I hadn't seen anything like it before. ;3)

she will! she'll be a mommy friend of chase's i think they meet through the dr office edmund and chase work at, but i can't remember for sure hehe as for the alternate world, keishi's main storyline (saints & scoundrels) is separate from bandit's landing, but is in the same setting/world so the characters intermingle between the two stories. like chase makes several appearances in bandit's landing (because i luffs her lol), my juri's character is tied closely with fenrys's backstory, and edmund and alister went through clerical training together.

 

That wig looks great. Funny thing, I bought that same type of fur in grey to make a wig for MY new breakaway! XD

As for the eyes, I would reccomend the grey, mainly because it seems weird to me when people's eyes and hair are a matching non-natural color. It is pretty common in animes, but for a human I don't think it would look natural enough.

Also, if you want the eye to show on the scar side you might go with a blind eye. I tried to position the eye so that just the color was showing, but I ended up with a lot of pupil showing through the slit. I'm not sure if it's because the eyes I'm using have a super high dome or if that's just a trick of the way eyes fit in the well, but once I settle on his final eye color and size I think I am going to get an eye without a pupil for that side.

 

you could also just turn the eye around so only white is showing, rather than investing in a blind eye! for just showing iris though, it's definitely better to have less dome. also, the iris will be closer to the opening so more light will hit it, making it less dark.

 

@ Lucianna Jellyfish: Great minds think alike! cx Yeah, After I posted my little internal debate I realized how much I didn't care for the 'animetic' look of unnatural matching hair and eyes. ^^;; I also just love the grey. As for the 'closed' eye, I was going to do do what mendosukai just mentioned; about positioning the eye so just the white of the eyes shows. C: I can't wait to see how your boy turns out. :3

I'll be buying the wig and eyes for him in a few weeks after attending Katsucon! Until then, finding his look for a faceup. :3

I have done this before - and I have a Breakaway. I actually bought two different eyes for him - he wears one in his scarred eye and one in his open eye. Luckily he shares his eyes with my friend's scarred Shiwoo (whose scarred eye is further open than my BAs). The eye that I'm using in his scarred eye is a Luts glass - similar to this: http://eluts.com/shop/step1.php?number=5082
His other eye is simply an acrylic. He has a similar story to yours as well - except even though he's cursed, he's not human and not hiding, lol.

GoroChaggi: I don't have my minifee yet, but I've been all over these shoes! It's my patience-therapy, I think, while I wait &#8212; Order more shoes from Deb's Adorables. Ha ha.

I've been real careful to stick with the styles I've heard actually fit (not all of them do, but it's said the various mary jane and t-straps fit), so thank you for posting this pic so I can add this style to the list!

QUESTION: I'd like to know, do the mary janes fit with socks? Or do the shoes only fit bare feet? Thanks for any input you can provide there.

 

Speaking of Deb's Adorables shoes, I checked, and she ONLY SHIPS TO the USA!

I live in Canada, and she WON'T ship here at all.

miffimifster that is an Eliya mod, right? I like it, the semi closed eyes give her a very different look.



I got a bunch of stuff in the mail over the last few weeks including eyes for the newly ordered shushu and some Monique hair. Aislinn has been trying out the eyes in the mean time, and now I'm completely lost as to what wig she is going to keep as her hair.

Also you can see where her fingers broke on that hand, and my manicure practice. Definitely going to do all her nails as soon as I like my own work, it adds a realistic look.

 

You guys move so fast my head is spinning! I am super happy I got see that info about the flute case! I'd love to store my girls in there!

By the way, Our Generation doll furniture at Target are awesome for MNF! That's the wardrobe in the background below! My girls are shopping online for more things they absolutely DO NOT need!

That is so awesome! Are you getting them at a Super Target or something? I never see things like this at my local stores The wardrobe looks huge, was it very expensive?

If anyone ever goes to Cracker Barrell, they have some new dollies and furniture that look like they are about MSD sized. I would like to get the table and chairs set. It looks very sturdy and it comes in white, so easily repainted?

Oh and I forgot, I have a question for the thread: I am having nothing but trouble trying to get my MNF's to pose and/or stand on their own. All they do is flop around. Also if I pick them up like say around the mid-section, the knees like to bend up-so, strung too tight? And that darn piece in their hip! All it does is move around and will not stay where it should.

It's a bit frustrating! Especially given MiniFee's rep for being great posers! I don't dare stand any of them without a doll stand, so they sit around a lot...
