I'm super jealous your Marcia will be here so soon >:V Heehee. I'm trading for mine ^__^. The wait time is so totally worth it. My boy's old mommy is too sweet. I'm so lucky to adopt such a lovely doll from a lovely person.

I'm naming the new kid "Tobias." What's your lady's name gonna be? Names are so hard D: Litara, my wife, is awesome. She knows names ALWAYS! She'll just look at a doll ONCE and just KNOW their name. I kind of abuse this power. LOL. Maybe she'll help me with my other dolls, too.

Please please do share photos when you get her. I'm needy.

 

Ingy- First off, congrats on the Marcia!! I am getting one in WS, too, but a girl - she will be Kiefer. I have to say, I -love- the name Tobias. Toby for short. Honestly, little trivia, that's Toast's (my Mirwen) real name. No one else knows that ;D
Maybe you could get your wife to look at my Karsh and tell me what she thinks for a name. Or even worse, I've had a doll (ot for this thread) that I've had since June of last year...no name. But my fairyland dolls, I can -usually- think of a name within 24 hours (of their completion, wig, eyes, faceup, etc).

I promise I'll have Mirwen pics soon~ I just added a layer of pearlex to her lips, because I couldn't stand the color that her default is...so they're a bit more red. I might wipe the lips fully, because I think I want a lighter color.
But, I also got some props for her that came in the mail today ^__^ so I really want to take some pics...but I really hate how they come out in artificial light D:

StaciaStarburst - oh awesome! I love breakaways 33 I can't wait to see him all done. I want to get my OE head faceupped, but I have very little idea what color scheme I want for him, let alone what color I want to actually paint the scar.
Then part of me actually wants to mod his closed eye open, but still have the scar in tact...but I might wait, and get like 2 more heads first (so I can have one like it is now to keep unmodded, and one to keep sleeping). Yay for breakaways 33

 

I have to say, I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a Soo Dark Elf Minifee with some money from my tax return thanks in part to all this gorgeous spam! *u*

Ingy, hopefully my girl will be Li'Arkya. I've always been torn on what look she needed, and thought i'd settled on Miyu, but the adorable grumpiness of Marcia just seemed to call out to me. I just hope she'll look right with Kovun, and maybe I'll finally be able to work out their story a lot better =]

Wow Marcia's are getting popular again lately aren't they? I was peeking at my calender and noticed that Tain's two year anniversary passed this month~ My other Marcia, Tobias' anniversary is in April~

Hahaha, by the way. I have a story set up for Tobi.

Tobias....picture every single geek you knew, ever. Place them in the 1980's. Give them a gameboy (oldskool, the HUGE ones!) and place a ton of cheeto bags all around him. Slap a pair of wayfairer glasses on him, put him in either a beatnik turtleneck or some sort of Pokemon Tshirt.

Okay, now picture him humming the "Zelda" theme song, while debating whether or not he should go out and grab his fourth Iced Americano coffee, or put on his awful bright purple sweatpants and go for a jog, or, you know, stay at home and watch re-runs of "Friends".

Make him ever-so-slightly agoraphobic, and yeah, that's Tobias ROTFL.

I think my Karsh lady is gonna be a character with Tobias' story.

I have this sinking feeling that somehow, somewhere, "Karsh" was a Dungeons and Dragons character Tobias made up and somehow, one night, she came to life ala "Flight of Dragons" style. (anyone remember that cartoon movie?!)

HAHAHA.


And none of Tobias' geeky friends believe him...until they meet her...and then EVERYONE is SUPER JELLY!! heeheehee. (I slay myself.)

I think I just made the anti-thesis to the old anime "Tenchi Muyo!" ROTFL! Yaaay.

does anyone know if FL will do an OE head instead of a sleeping head when you order ala carte? jw

 

fenris: eee she's pretty! I know it always feels like they're naked in a way when they're blank, but I love seeing blank pics. I love seeing the potential in the blank 'canvas', and seeing the personality the sculpt has in itself, and considering the personality different faceups could give it ^_^

You can always email FL and ask. They may be willing to since it's still a different mold anyway (I'd assume) , but they might possibly charge you extra.

I'm pretty sure FL won't substitute heads like that, since the sleeping heads are offered as a special add on when you order a full doll and they don't sell heads separately at all. I remember someone asking if they could get a different sleeping head with their a la carte order, and FL said they wouldn't. I assume it'd be the same answer for an OE head instead of a sleeping one.

It's not likely, but it couldn't hurt to ask!

i think i recall someone asking this before and fl saying no. i don't think that it is likely that they will do so since, as stated already, the sleeping heads are already a special add-on. also, fl has stated many times before that they do not take special requests and have pointed to how hard it would be to keep track of such things in their workflow without causing disruption.

thanks torren! she's actually been sitting here for over a year without a faceup...i'm only just finally deciding on it. i tend to love the dolls blank and find that time with them as such sometimes helps to decide on if i really do like them, what their character will be, or how they will look.

 

I KNOW THEY ARE JUST SO CUTE! I'm going to give mine a darker sort of face up, but not anything gothic. Yet kind of natural? I'm keeping his scars a natural color because of his story. c: A colored scar would have been cool before I changed it- anyway. I'll be getting him a berry frost wig from Shaggies and finding him some nice grey eyes.

I completely understand the wanting to mod one of the heads open, and having the sleeping and one opened eye original sculpt. I gave it some thought.

OH. And his little teeth are so adorable. o 3o Yey Breakaways.

 

Ingy - Though none of those were originally what I had in mind, I do like a lot of them. I especially have to say, I can see his nickname being Zilla (Zillah without the H) to some of his close friends. But I think for now...Edgar.

StaciaStarburst - Aww man 3 Yeah their teeth kill me ^____^ I love their teeth. I -love- dolls with teeth, quite honestly. lol. Currently most of my dolls (or heads) have teeth. Only my Mirwen & my Karsh don't have teeth. Lol.

I figure I haven't contributed any decent or new spam in a while, and I am not really been feeling like diving into any of the conversations much...

Here's a link to my wig experimentation on my Mirwen. It was tough to choose which one I loved best!

Excellent idea Alogue! Added a few wigs of my own to the thread. I could add a few more but they're all Leeke and all fit the same dolls in about the same way lol

 

Contributed a few of my own, though I think the mods will probably move it to the Picture Requests subforum or some such. I'll try to get better photos the next time I photograph my girls, so I can update with some higher quality things.

Thanks! I can't wait to order her! I'm planning on getting her on the a-type body with a large bust and cutie legs. I also love how DES is such a versatile sculpt- the same face that can look sweet and innocent one minute can so easily look dark and evil the next. Either way it looks gorgeous! ^^
