Fairyland LittleFee Discussion Thread - Part 33

I love the way Connor's jacket fits. That shoulder seam looks fabulous. One reason I make all of Wiishu's clothing is because the generic YOSD outfits are necessarily baggy to accommodate lots of different bodies. Getting pants to accommodate our skinny-waisted/hippy little guys is a challenge!

 

@Siara My Aelin never decided on a gender. I'd ask and just get a shrug in response. So I usually use they/them/their/theirs for them.
Ex: Aelin took forever to decide on their eye color. They eventually found that two different eyes worked best for them.

I did eventually get a mostly - working pants pattern worked up for Littlefee. I should drop it in the DoA patterns section....

 

Oooo...that's a good idea. I've got a sorta-kinda pattern for these. I'll put it there, too.

So since recieving my Mio i am now addicted to littlefees ..i want so many but I'm saving up for a Niya. Anyone bought her?

 

That is so true 8'D They actually made some little pants and a belt (not shown in that pic), as well as his shirt and tie all just based off the FL site measurements. They're seriously talented, I was so impressed with how well everything fits o_O
The struggle of FL's slim designs, haha. I love them so much, but definitely not easy to shop for, especially boys, if you're not into them wearing skirts XD I've found that TTYA's pants fit quite well if you don't get the ones made out of actual jean material, though!

 

I'm not sure why anyone uses actual denim-denim when there's stretch denim and even denim printed poly-cotton, both of which are far more forgiving in the fraying department! I have a super lightweight stretch stuff that I got as a remnant and wish I could find about ten yards of! It's printed with worn jeans legs complete with seams randomly crisscrossed. (Can't get at it at the moment or I'd post a pic.) None of the pattern is quite large enough for Wiishu, but for anything smaller...well...here's Pooki in his "jeans," complete with "double seam."

Sure is. Wish I had yards of it. I'd make puki-jeans and hand them out for free. Sadly, it was a small remnant and there are only a few sections I can use because of how the print runs and those are destined for my friends. I've looked for it every time I'm in a fabric store, but never found it again. I was, I suspect, one of those bulk buys the stores sometimes do. Best part is it's really lightweight and stretchy so the squirt can move freely.

Have you looked at online fabric stores to see if they have it? I know I've seen fabric printed to look like paper dolls with clothing. Can't remember where, of course.

Feeling down the past few days as I got news that my foot has to be in a cast for another 4 weeks (why did I have to break such a slow healing bone?). So, since it is difficult to take new pictures of my crew, here is one of Callen from last year that I don't think I posted. Anyone else out there with a littlefee Juri 13? I so love this little one's cute nose and elf ears! I just love seeing the tips of the ears peek out of his hair.

 

@redmaiko - Sorry about your slow-healing foot. Callen is too cute, so even if it's an older pic I'm glad you posted it.

@redmaiko I'm sorry to hear about your foot. I don't have a Juri '13 but I have an old '08 faceplate I snagged from DDE a few years ago. (In 2012 I think?) The lil fellow doesn't have a body yet, so I haven't done anything with him (or her??)

Ken doll pants can be cut to the right length and often fit LTF quite snugly. In this picture the LTF boy is wearing unaltered Ken Doll pants.

 

Definitely! In the early days with him, before I endeavored to start making my own patterns, Wiishu stole...er...borrowed several outfits from the ken-sized crew I collected to do some character dolls with (pre-Wiishu. Project never took off, so they don't much care) What I'm talking about are non-stretch, actual fitted clothing like jeans or dress pants (or my cargo pants.) In that case, the LTF body has some very specific requirements.

I'm trying to remember what the faceplates were that were littlefee vampires. Does anyone know their names or own any they can post a picture of?

 

@Bubble Gum Goth There were Vampire Elf Chiwoo and Vampire Elf Rolly. I have Chiwoo, but the stubborn girl is still blank. I have tried to give her a face up 3 times, but every time have some issue with sealant. No idea why as I haven't had issues with others.
I think those are the two you are referring to?

Yes! Those are the ones! Wasn't it the Rolly that was sleepy eyed one? I also have a few stubborn faceplates that refuse to take a personality, though I love them so much I still keep them.

 

Both are sweet and sleepy! Here is the photo of my Chiwoo when I first got her (the only pic I have of her ). She WILL have a faceup one day!

 

@redmaiko - Sometimes a head or faceplate will have issues, either rejecting the sealant or not taking the paint in the first place. When that happens, I give the face a good cleaning in case it has traces of whatever release agent was used to get the resin out of the mold. Afterwards both the paint and the sealant stay on.

 

Okay, yeah, that's the one! Super cute!!! I really need to see the other one now. I was thinking I had loved the Rolly one, but seeing yours... makes me think it's the Chiwoo. I have no idea now.

@vermont chick Yeah, it's gotta be that. Each time I wiped her I used my usual dawn dish soap to make sure the faceplate is clean, but I think next time I will soak it for a while first.

 

I wipe with acetone, then wash with Ivory liquid, rinse well and towel dry. Some people don't like acetone but I've never had problems with it.

I finally got LittleFee. It turned out that they settled in pairs)) Ante appeared first. This is a purchase from my friend. Beautiful, but too cold makeup for me. What do you think? Such an ice girl. I sent her to the artist for a new make-up, I'm waiting now, I miss her ...
