Fairyland LittleFee Discussion Thread - Part 33

Nov 25, 2018

    1. Your little boy Lisa is adorable! Works so well as a boy.

    2. @Brenay Oh my, he is adorable Q/////Q We have one character left we want to have as a Littlefee boy and I think we have to choose Lisa as well >////< I had no idea how cute they are as little guys x/D ♥

    3. I’m so glad you guys like Lisa as a male. It was kind of a split decision to make Lisa a boy. I have SO MANY GIRLS ! I love them but boys are sweet too.

    4. Oh man I haven't been on this side of the forum in ages! I have a ltf Bisou that I had been contemplating selling for awhile now since I hadn't wound up doing much with her... but then my sister had the brilliant idea to give her a makeover and turn her into Connor from Detroit: Become Human. He's gonna be so damn cute, I'm excited! Granted, that means I'm probably going to wind up getting a second bisou to be RK900 but... 8'D ah well, lol. I already ordered the hair and eyes for him, plus some basic clothes, so I'll post pics once I have at least those in hand!

    5. @Hakari-chan Squee!! Tiny Connor! Oh that will be so cute. I look forward to seeing him!:XD:

    6. I finally opened my Lisa Christmas morning & she is a beauty! Her eyes need changed & the magnets need glued in her head & faceplate before I photograph her but I'm in love. Been down with a bad cold so haven't played with her much but did manage to get some clothes on her. That makes 3 Little Fees for me when all I originally wanted was Ante!

      • x 1
    7. Congratulations, @Gwydion! LTFs are very much like potato chips, you really can't have just one! I originally didn't want any at all ;) and am up to eight!

    8. Congrats @Gwydion! I hope your cold gets better soon so you can get Lisa ready for photos.

It always amazes me that magnets can shake themselves loose during transit and yet, when an owner mistakenly glues one in backwards, you can't get them out again for love or money.

    9. I think the companies use less glue than we do!

      • x 1
    10. Thanks! Actually the magnets weren't in the doll's head at all. I knew I would have to put them in when I bought her. I've just been too groggy to do it yet. Definitely want to get them in the right way cause as you say, they won't want to come out .

They are addictive! I'm already picking out my next one.

    11. I honestly think it's probably more about transit... after all, how do we get magnets out? We freeze 'em! And even though cargo holds don't get as cold as our home freezers, the dolls spend a lot more time there in the low temperatures, so I'm not really all that surprised that the glue gets a little brittle in transit sometimes, now that I'm seriously thinking about it. :)

@Gwydion, who are you looking at next?

    12. Okay so my Rendia just came from DDE and her head back does not have the little turn key. Instead it looks like a tiny bar that has been glued to her body so she can't be taken apart for re-stringing, this is very odd. Did Fairyland change the Little Fee head back???

    13. Derlian, my Littlefees have a bar across the neck. Attached to it if you look is a small S hook holding the neck on. I have tightened my Bisou’s elastic which required me to remove that hook. It was fiddley but can be done.

      • x 3
    14. Ah I see, kind of reminds me of how my older Narae is with a little bar in her head instead of a S hook, thanks for the info!

    15. That's how they've always been from the very first LTFs, and they can easily be taken apart for restringing. :) Is Rendia your first one? Do you have pictures yet?

    16. Has anyone ordered the new Niya or Rabi. I'm really keen to see customer photos.

    17. Happy New Year everyone!!! Joren is here to wish you all good tidings. Here she is, exploring the wilderness, aka my parents' backyard. She likes to pretend she's scaling a vast mountain!

    18. Beautiful photo Redfaery

    19. Well it looks like a pretty big mountain for her! It's a lovely spot for photos and she looks adorable!

    20. @Redfaery - That's a lovely spot for a small fairy to perch. I love Joren.:love

    21. She is my first and last Little Fee, will try to take some pics of her, blank and naked.

    22. I'm thinking of Lishe or possibly El just to get a boy in the group. Do you think freezing a magnet will make it smaller? The magnets are just a tad too large to fit in the faceplate opening.

    23. Joran is lovely! She looks like a wood fairy posing so prettily on the rocks.

    24. @Gwydion - I'm no scientist, so what I say may not make perfect scientific sense, but my impression is that freezing breaks down the bond in the glue, which then releases the magnet.

    25. That's what I thought about my first one. ;) Good luck with sticking to it, and I'll look forward to pictures when you get her ready!

I don't think it will (freezing seems to make glue brittle, based on my experiences fixing boxes of frozen food), but possibly heating the faceplate would allow it to flex enough to fit the magnet in there. Otherwise I'd just gently sand the opening until it fits.

      • x 2
    26. Or just buy a smaller magnet. Dollmore has reasonable shipping on small orders.

      • x 1
    27. Well right now the faceplate is staying on okay without the magnet. I might try sanding when I'm bored, such a mindless job. I can't imagine trying to handle any smaller magnets as these thing are so teeny as is. Thank for all of your suggestions. You're a great crew!

    28. She's adorable! I love her sculpt!

      This is my Luna

    29. Another suggestion @Gwydion - I have occasionally--and successfully--filled empty magnet holes with a small wad of eye putty. I'm not sure I've done it with a doll as large as LTF, however; I've used it with tinier dolls.

@Annaku - Your Luna looks so sweet! I love her costume.

    30. Annaku, your Luna is spectacular! Such a lovely photo of her.

Vermont Chick, thanks for another suggestion.

    31. My Lisa is just back from her face-up!
She was originally planned to shell an OC< but it seems she has a bit of a temper and disagrees with the idea. She's extremely sassy! But I love her anyway, so I'll just make something else of her ^^

    32. Yeah, they do that. You have all these plans, and then they get home and have a mind of their own.

    33. They definitely do! I've stopped trying to make characters & just let the doll tell me her name & what's she/he likes. It makes life much simpler. Like my new girl Faith (Fairyland Little Fee Lisa), I thought she was going to be rather quiet & shy. Turns out she's an imp & just as bad as Fern. One just never knows...

    35. :( My sibling's littlefee was just stolen from their work car. I came in here to find a picture for the Stolen thread and instead found everyone else's adorable kids.

    36. My work vehicle was broken into today, and my backpack was stolen, with my darling Fray inside it. I am devastated and heartbroken, especially knowing that the person who stole her was after the electronics in the car and probably is just going to throw her in the trash. I keep looking at her empty spot on my desk and bursting into tears. I don't know if it's a good or terrible idea to look at pictures of other wonderful Littlefees right now, but I know I'm glad that there are people who understand what I've lost.

    37. Oh gods @pinkandyellow that's so awful! I really hope you can get her back somehow. :( I've had a doll stolen from me before and it's very violating to lose such a personal possession. I'm so sorry.

    38. So very sorry to hear this. I’m hoping your backpack will be found with Fray safely inside - as you say the thief was not interested in anything other than electronics. Maybe you can put up notifications in the area it was stolen in hope it alerts public to look out for her.

    39. I am so sorry for your loss. I can just imagine how you feel:sorry

    40. So sad for your loss, @pinkandyellow. I hope you have notified the police about the theft. I doubt they'll recover the electronics, but the backpack itself--with Fray in it--might turn up unharmed.

    41. What a shame! But hopefully if the thief just wanted electronics, your Fray will be found unharmed. I know how you feel, having something precious stolen from you & it's miserable.

    42. I appreciate everyone trying to console, but I really don't want to work up hope. It was a high crime area, the thief had to have a car to carry the heavier things they took, and she could be in any dumpster in Calumet City. If I let myself hope that I'll get her back, I think it'll be worse. I did report it, though, sent the police a picture, just in case.

    43. I am sorry for your loss. Will your car insurance cover the loss? I know it wouldn't be Fray, but perhaps in time another LTF could join her in your heart and make that hole smaller.

    44. I don't think so, but that's worth looking into. It wasn't my car (thankfully); I'll have to ask work people about the insurance we have.

    45. @pinkandyellow - If it was a work vehicle I would think it has to be insured, especially with multiple drivers. The company wouldn't want to be found liable in case of accident--and break-ins do happen, unfortunately.

    46. I would check with your own insurance also.

    47. OMG. So very sorry. Nothing can replace the love you've invested in her, but the others are right, the sheer cost involved...and don't forget the price of her faceup and whatever outfit she had on...company insurance really should cover.

On the personal front...Wiishu and I are hoping to rejoin the ranks here. It's been awhile since we've been active. He wanted to drop in and say "hi" and I'd like to ask if anyone remembers a LF faceplate from probably 2014. It must have been a limited run because I just don't see it anymore. It had a wonderfully wicked little smile, elf ears and rather narrow eyes. I really want to do the Seiten Taisei version of Goku from Saiyuki/Saiyuki Reload and the sleeping FP would have modded perfectly. I had a request for it on the MP for a long time, but it's long gone now. Anyone remember this little fella?

Anyway...a little Wiishu spam from his visit to the Terra Cotta Warriors exhibit:

    48. Welcome back @Vindalootoo ! I'm glad to see you and Wiishu again.

    49. Thank you! RL has really gotten in the way the last few years. :D

    50. I finally got around to taking some pictures of this girl - she definitely needs a new faceup, and probably a bath. But the pictures turned out okay anyways!

    51. New faceup is sure your choice, but that cute red wig certainly goes with the one she's got!

      • x 1
    52. I'd definitely keep it, but she's got some chips on her chin and near her lips :(

    53. Wow...I went to the link and zoomed in and didn't see anything. Did you photoshop them out? Funny how we "moms" and "dads" can spot things!

    54. No, they just didn't show up much in the photos I took (and I suppose my editing may have made them less noticeable). They're more obvious in person! I'm actually really surprised at how little you can see them in the pictures. She's also got a bit of discolouration near the top of her faceplate (presumably from a wig), which is easy to hide but just makes her look dirty :/

    55. @ohbumblebee Now that you've pointed them out I can kind of see the scuffs in the shot above, but they're really not too bad. She's just not quite ready for her close-ups!

I always find that awkward point between when you start noticing a face-up's damage and when you finally have to give in and get a repaint to be so nerve wracking. I hate trying to decide on a face-up artist, so I just drag that stage out way past any reasonable point.

And just for some spam, here's an old pic of my girl right before I finally bit the bullet and sent her off.

    56. I think sometimes we become just a little obsessed with perfection in this hobby. It's kinda like the faceup police are hiding around the corner ready to point fingers. :D I kind of like the occasional evidence of active lovin'. Goodness knows Wiishu, not to mention Pooki, show plenty of signs of their adventures. That being said, I was noticing while processing my latest photostory, that the time to work on Pook's face has come. His little pukisha nose is disappearing!

    57. @Vindalootoo: welcome back^^. Could that faceplate be the vampire elf Chiwoo event plate, this one https://farm8.static.flickr.com/7582/16318306176_77aa088051_b.jpg ? That was the first one that came to mind reading your description and he is indeed hard to find. I own one and I love him to bits^^. The other one that seems to fit the description is Littlefee Soso, but I'm not sure if he was released in 2014 yet: https://thumbs.worthpoint.com/zoom/...eplate_1_76665bba0c4b6748dd4f30e1b45ed3d4.jpg

EDIT: whoops, didn't notice how old your post was, I saw you found what you were looking for in the Customizing forum just now, so never mind, good luck with your mods^^!

    58. Thanks! It's good to be back!

And thanks for the suggestions. I still don't know what my memory remembered. Obviously, it was an alternate reality! :D But this little one is working great. It still didn't have the smirk I thought I remembered, but it has the right facial dimensions/shape and the smirk is slowly developing. I adore the little Chiwoo vampire. So cute. I couldn't bear to carve it up, if I had it. Had the same problem with the little Elf Shiwoo. I've got one of those and will probably use it for Wiishu to cosplay the Seiten Taisei, but I'm getting a kick out of modding this one. For those of you wondering what we're talking about...

    59. A lot of my hesitance is also just the time it takes. I’m so impatient >.<. And I do like her default face up. But sometime soon she will be sent off!
