Fairyland LittleFee Discussion Thread - Part 33

Nov 25, 2018

    1. So, uhh, hi everyone! It’s been, like 5 years, since I was active in anything BJD related. I was wondering, where do all the cool kids get their LTF clothes these days?

    2. I cannot really help, @Petrichor , I am just getting into the LTFs myself. I do need some good sources for some non-modern clothing though.

Look who came a day early!

    3. TeaPartyRevolution, your kids are adorable. It reminds me that I need to take some newer pics of my group, it's been a while.

Congratulations on your new girl! Now the fun begins :D

I have a couple because there are a few versions of Chiwoo. Sydney is a Chiwoo boy faceplate on a girl body.

    4. Ooh cute!! Do you have a chiwoo elf girl face? Shes one of my favourites :)

    5. I do, her name is Etienne.

    6. Oh she's so cute!! Thank you :)

    7. @Petrichor, welcome back!

I get Ichi-chan's (2020 Shiwoo boy) clothes mostly from either Ebay or Etsy. This entire outfit I found on Ebay for around...$15 IIRC. The shoes were about $3. The toy I found on Etsy for about $8.50. I've also found some outfits and Ichi-chan's wig from on Dollmore's site, but I got mostly summer clothes.

I should get Ichi-chan some winter clothes soon, I can't stand when my dolls are in clothes that don't reflect the season! :sweat

Sweet, @Tonboko! Congrats! What a cutie! And elf ears too! Is that your DES girl? I can't tell most LTFs apart from each other...yet.

      So many cuties! :love

    8. Yes, she is a DES! Aside from the MNF version (because I refuse to walk down the path of mature minis), I now have one of each Elf Soo, so she was extra special. Still waffling on a name for her.
And the LTF are harder to tell apart! Perhaps I will get the knack down now that I will be hanging out here more. :)

      • x 1
    9. I know what you mean, @Tonboko, I can't tell most LTFs apart either. The longer I hang out on this thread, the sooner I'll be able to tell them apart. I just know that they're all so very cute! :D

      Ryu

    10. A reminder that posting photos of dolls in clothing that has been made for sale and is concurrently for sale, even in linked off-site venues, is not allowed. It does not matter if the exact sale photos are used or not. The discussion threads are intended for sharing your own dolls and their own "owned" clothing, not to post surreptitious advertisements for a business.

    11. @Tonboko, did you ever find a name for your DES?

      Ryu

    12. @Ryuichi Sakuma 13, we settled on Pěnkava. :)
All my Elf Soos have a theme to their names. Three syllables, end in -a, and are all bird names.

    13. Very cute! Her blue eyes really suit her!

    14. There are Littlefee available. I don't need another Littlefee. I do not need another Littlefee.

      • x 2
    15. Lol, I feel dumb. I kept "waiting for the Littlefee to be available again". They were in the a la carte the whole time?:doh
At some point I gave up on them offering tan again and was waiting to get a normal skin DES since I do not have a doll in that size in normal. Lol, I guess at some point Pěnkava may get a sister.

    16. Denver Doll Emporium often has "in stock" LTF available, it's normally worth a look at their site. Sometimes you even luck out and they have tan skin kids (that happens more frequently after an event that featured tan skin as an option).

    17. I feel like I've been neglecting this thread. I think I'm up to date now though. Congratulations to everyone on their new arrivals. I can't wait to see more of them around.

Been going back to the 1/6th size after my SO rekindled my interest for them. Which is bad news because now I just want more of them and I already have 4 and a hybrid at home. I really don't need more...

    18. Welcome back! Alas, the lure of the Little Fee is tough to resist.....

    19. Ugh, too true!

But instead of bringing home another LTF, I'm going to spoil the one I have, and live vicariously through everyone else's. :3nodding:

Now to keep looking for boy clothes. Everyone seems to be making girl clothes nowadays. :(

      Ryu

    20. I feel you on that. I only have one boy in this size, but it is SO hard to find clothing for him, especially since my dolls do not wear "modern" clothing.

    21. I tried that once! Back when I was getting started, I was warned after getting my Puki that they were like potato chips and I'd have a million of them in no time. Nope, still just one Puki, it was the LTFs that were the potato chips!

    22. I'm planning a haunted living room box scene (1:4 scale) for my LittleFee Cygne, but I'm not sure if I can make a project journal or prop thread in the Project Journal forum because I'm not actually crafting anything myself; I commissioned someone else to make the room box, and I bought various furniture online. The only thing crafty would be if/when I later apply some wallpaper and maybe ceiling paper to the room box once it gets in. That and the graph I made in Photoshop to track the sizes of the furniture, to make sure the room box will fit everything.

I've already got some of the furniture in so I made a makeshift spot for Cygne for now. At some point I might give her a new name but I'm terrible with names. I know Cygne is French for swan, which I love, but I'm not sure it feels right. That and it's a bit hard to pronounce for me, the "Seen-yeh" in French. I've been saying Sig-ney which I'm not fond of.

    23. Right there with you. The Pukis came first, but beyond those first ones, it was all LTF after that....and I do mean *all* LTF, apparently ;)

      • x 2
    24. For me, it was SDs that are like potato chips!

But, I think I'm okay. As it stands, I don't even know where to put poor Ichi-chan as a permanent display place. Right now, he sits on the kitchen table (still!) and watches TV with us. I have no idea where to put this boy where I can see him every day. :sorry

      Ryu

    25. I cracked...

      :blush

I'm blaming my SO for being an enabler. He found me the exact sculpt I was eyeing that came with a bunch of extra goodies at a fair price so who am I to say no? They're even going to travel here without having to pass through customs. Yay!?!

      My poor wallet...

(Thankfully I was already thinking of selling off a part of the collection so I could justify getting this little one...)

      @BlueDragonfly

Your Cygne looks comfy in her current set-up. I can't wait to see what you do with it later on. I'd love to see the progress. Finding names that fit them is hard, isn't it? I try not to stick with the default sculpt name but sometimes they have a mind of their own.

      @Ryuichi Sakuma 13

I usually just pick one for the day and then they get dragged around the house with me. They sit with me near the couch or on a nearby kitchen kabinet while I work in the kitchen or sit on the table as I play with my son. My living room is a disaster currently...too many dolls and not enough room. Thankfully they're not all mine or I'd have a meltdown.

    26. Right now, I have 21 full dolls, of which Ichi-chan is the only LittleFee (not counting his sleeping faceplate, which needs faceupped). Most of my Crew are SDs or larger, so they take up quite a bit of space...all over the house. Ichi-chan, being so small is okay on the kitchen table for now, but my New Years resolution is to get stands and a glass cabinet so I can house my Crew.

He'll probably have a better place to sit then, since I plan on having many of the SDs and larger standing once I get the case. :eusa_pray

Unfortunately, a small house plus lots of dolls means figuring out where I can put everyone where I can see them every day. :sweat:love

      Ryu

    27. Oh wow, a house full of 1/3 sized dolls must be very impressive. If we ever find our own place to live we'll probably invest in display cabinets as well. I'll probably have an easier job to house them since most are tinies or tinies in disguise (big babies).

So much has changed since I was last on the lookout for Littlefee clothing. I think I'll manage somehow. Now to wait and see if the latest addition will be a boy or a girl.

    28. I've found boy clothes on etsy, but most of them seem to be for girls.:...( Poor Ichi-chan is currently wearing jeans-look leggins, since finding a pair of simple skinny jeans seems to be either expensive, or difficult to find. I managed to find a ebay store that sells t-shirts, and I bought quite a few from them, but unfortunately, they only had jeans leggins, no actual jeans. :(

I did manage to find him some tennis shoes/sneakers on ebay that weren't pastel colors, black or white, so that's something.

I've been trying to switch out Ichi-chan's hands, and I'm having difficulty doing so without scratching up his wrists. Is there some way to put something (maybe wooden) in the slot to hold his wrists while I turn the hands to the notch, or is there some secret about taking them off that I don't know about?

      Ryu

    29. Yes, having a (small) house that's full of SDs and larger is a challenge, but one that I'm enjoying! :love

When it comes to Ichi-chan, he doesn't have to share his clothes with anyone. I can buy him anything that I think is cute for a rough-and-tumble boy such as himself. :XD: I've finally started getting stands for my few MSDs, but chances are Ichi-chan's going to sit in his chair in the glass case, if I decide to put him in one. :3nodding: That way, he's safe from the cats, and I can take him out and play with him and he'll be safe from losing parts and....;)

I'd love to have the room for a diorama, but we'd need to clean up the basement first, and then figure out where to keep it when not in use. How does people with more than one LTF keep them?

Also, I still haven't figured out how to safely take off his hands. *_*

      Ryu

    30. Can I request some Lishe pics? I'm trying to pick on Chiwoo girl or lishe as my single littlefee, but theyre both so cute :whee:

    31. The real question is, do you want a micro Feather or not? ;)

      • x 1
    32. Oh, that's MEEEAAAAANNNNN!

Well, technically, Ichi-chan is Ryuichi (the SD Shiwoo boy in my icon pic) at five years old, but he's been planned since, oh, 2012 or so, I think? :whee:

      Ryu

    33. I really like Littlefee Cygne. I noticed she's listed under "Basic". Does this mean she's a limited sculpt, or do I still have time to make a decision? I'm not familiar with Fairyland at all.

    34. How about a tan Lishe boy? :) (Sadly this is the only photo I have of him currently, someone come kick me in the pants until I get my photo studio set up again!)

[IMG]11: Tiny Nico is here! by vicemage, on Flickr

Most of the sculpts aren't limited, just the fullsets are. So you'll be able to order her from the "basic" or "a la carte" listings going forward, unless they discontinue her faceplate (as they're doing with a large number of MNF heads right now). So you do have time!

    35. Lishe is the bomb...one of my favorite LTF sculpts. I have three Lishe girls, they're all so different.

@vicemage @clochette thank you for the pics! Lishe is so cute, I'm just still unsure. :whee:

    39. Aw omg thats too cute! Man you guys are really enabling the two lishes in my collection lol

    40. Isn't that the point?

    41. So many cute dolls! :D

      Ryu

    42. Haha i suppose it is! I do love lishe, shes my favourite sculpt. I would love to see lishe and chiwoo together, but i'm pretty sure i like lishe best.

    43. What are you using that would scratch up his wrists? I just tried with my Littlefee, I just hold his arm making sure I keep the wrist ball secured between my thumb and index finger so it won't move when I turn the hand, then use my other hand to twist the hand to the notch and off the wrist ball. If you keep the wrist ball nice and still it should twist off no problem, make sure you twist in the right direction;) I have to admit I don't know how else to do it, maybe hold the wrist ball with a pair of pliers or something, but I can see how that might cause scratches. Good luck!

    44. *playing catch-up*

I had a nail file I was using to hold the wristball still while I turned and pulled at the hand. I'm wondering if its because he's so new. I got him straight from DDE/FL in July, so I'm wondering if the stiffness/difficulty has something to do with it. :?

      Ryu

    45. Hello! Question: has Littlefee Chloe sleeping faceplate ever been available in tan skintone? I found some pictures of Chloes with sleeping faces in normal skintone, but not in tan, and couldn't find any information on whether it was ever an option.

    46. @helgie I am pretty sure I have seen a couple on Flickr? I'm trying to remember, but there might just be less of them if Chloe was released before tan was introduced.

I am unsure at the moment. I got a Chicline Event Littlefee Sleeping Cat/Pukisha secondhand, and I am really thinking of filling the whiskers and dots in with milliput. I plan to redo my OE Pukisha so the two can match, but like others, I am apprehensive to permanently change a rare face. :shudder I think I've gotta though, because the indented lines will drive me crazy.[IMG]

      • x 3
    47. I'm no artist, @redmaiko, but I think I would simply paint over the whisker and dots area in the color you want them to be, then wipe off the excess paint. The color should stay in the whisker lines and dots if you wipe carefully enough. That way, you're not damaging a rare faceplate.

      Ryu

    48. Ack!!! Why didn't I think of that? I could also use elmers glue too. I will have to see which works better. Thank you!:3nodding:

      • x 1
    49. Not a problem! Tbh, I would hate for such a rare faceplate to be modified with miliput especially since I've wanted a pukisha since forever! :whee:

I hope it works out for you!

Don't get the ones that light up, the handle is too wide because that's where the batteries are housed. The standard non-lit ones fit pretty well.

    56. Hi there! Can someone help me?
I'm trying to restring a LTF but I'm having problems with the legs.
The stringing system just has me scratching my head, lol. I can't figure out how to avoid the elastic knot get in the way of the hip joint.
      I can't make it fit.
Any ideas to fix it? Thanks!
