Fairyland LittleFee Discussion Thread - Part 33

Nov 25, 2018

    1. Congrats! I'm a little biased, I think Shiwoo is a great sculpt! :D

    5. Beautiful girl, I especially love the second picture...she looks so wistful!

They're adorable, a very pretty pair. Love his striking blue eyes!

Yes, you apparently do! I look forward to seeing your wee boy's photoshoot!

My own Shiwoo boy, Preston, needs more screen time as well....

    6. Thank you! Our local BJD show had a pirate/seafarer theme one year, so I decked him and Capri out for the event. The organizers always have these huge dioramas and they built this pirate ship. It was awesome.

    7. Thank you so much! She's the DDE exclusive Bonnie LTF, she just stole Llama's outfit from the Austin show.

Seriously, the organizers of our local show have a massive commitment to their themes. For the steampunk theme, they built an SD sized airship, and for the year they had fairy tales as a theme, there was a tower and a forest. The show is normally in November, and they start planning and building in late July. It's amazing.

    8. It sounds amazing clochette.

    9. clochette, both of your pirates are amazing

    10. Would you mind sharing the name and or link to the show you're speaking of? I would love to go to another BJD event. I haven't been since Dollism in Buffalo NY

    11. @clochette - Your local bjd show rocks! I, too, would love to know which show it is and where. Not that I'm going anywhere this year.

    12. Sure! I'm in San Diego, the show is called the San Diego Ball-Jointed Doll Con. Unfortunately, they won't be able to have their show in November as usual (because Covid), but in speaking with one of the organizers just last weekend I learned they are hoping for the spring. I hope so too, it's a great little show, and this would have been its 12th year.

      Website: San Diego BJD Con
FB: San Diego Ball-Jointed Doll Convention
DoA page for last year's show: /threads/11th-annual-san-diego-bjd-con-saturday-november-16-2019.812316/

Bugs6946, thank you for your comments, it was a fun set of outfits. Normally Llama does not share well with others, but she was also otherwise occupied during that particular show.

    13. Sounds wonderful, @clochette. Too bad it's so far away. I'll get my fix from the website and last year's photos.

    14. 2009, @vermont chick? Was it really that long ago? Whoa...I've been in this hobby a long time! :XD: I actually found someone selling a version of the Little Cat outfit, so I don't have to try and make him one. Whew! :whee: I wasn't sure how I was going to make the paws nor the ears, so that's a load off my mind! Its too bad you rehomed your Shiwoo, it would be cool to see more of them on this thread.

Speaking of, @vicemage, you should post more pics of your teeny Ed, he's so adorable! What's not finished on him? He looks perfectly fine to me. :3nodding: I love all of your Shiwoo Eds! I just thought you should know that.:D I know you were working on armor for him, did you ever finish it? Or for any of your other Shiwoo?

Everyone's dolls are so incredibly adorable, I just want to hug them all! Its cool to see that there are so many different sculpts out there, but the Shiwoo sculpt has a special place in my heart.;)

Speaking of Shiwoo, Ichi-chan finally came home! :sumomo::D :dance:cheer:celebrate:kitty1:thumbup:love <---There is his box opening, and here's a preview pic of my little future rock star.

Thank you everyone for being so patient with me during my wait, the pics and encouragement really means a lot to me. :aheartbea

    15. He's adorable, @Ryuichi Sakuma 13 ! Congrats on finding a Little Cat outfit, too. That's amazing--you never see them around after so many years. I can't wait to see him in it.

      • x 1
    16. I definitely should post more pics of him! :D I'm still working on his automail, I keep getting interrupted by real life (curse you, real life!), but his leg is mostly sculpted at this point, so once I finish regular Ed's leg, both get a partial dye-bath to prep them for painting. :D (And thank you!)
I love him! :D I'm excited to see more of him around here!

      • x 2
    17. Oh, its not Fairyland's version of it, its "someone else's version" of the Little Cat outfit. I'm okay with that, it means I don't have to try and make the paws and hat, so it's all good. :3nodding:

I plan on posting lots of pics on here of Ichi-chan, but for now, we're just kind of chillin' and getting to know each other. But, since you asked....:XD: Here's a pic of him standing on the deck, trying to look cool. But really, how cool can a five year old be?

Those #2 hands are kind of a pain, so I plan on getting him more hands so that I can mix and match them as need be. I was surprised that he didn't come with the #1 hands, tbh.

Yes, curse Real Life! I've been following your thread, and wanting to see updates. But no hurries, its better to deal with IRL stuff and get them out of the way. If there's an update that I may have missed, feel free to toss me a link via PM.

    18. No worries, I think you're up to date since I haven't gotten anything done on him for a while. :sweat I started gearing up to do dolly stuff again recently, but got a wild hair to work on a fairy lantern and that's currently occupying the vast majority of my work station. Thankfully, one of the RL situations holding me back might be resolving within the week, and hopefully another one will get handled asap too so I can get back to doll things. I'm super itchy to get my boys' legs done!

    19. My Rolly is finally here!! :D Shipping was super fast and I only had to pay a fraction of import taxes because FL marked the value way down! :love My first Littlefee and first FL normal skin, it is so beautiful! In all my excitement I completely forgot to order a wig for her lol, I‘m used to always having something when a doll arrives, but I forgot that I don’t collect YoSDs. :doh
I also bought an event face plate on the marketplace, it is from 2014 I think. Anyway, here is a picture of her arrival, she came bringing along a little friend aswell. ;)

    20. You'll need to make her a cute little kerchief while she waits for hair! :D

    21. @Zomboid - She's adorable. I love how well LTF stand right out of the box. I can't wait to see how you style her and her little friend.

    22. Thank you @vermont chick! I'm also super impressed by her posing, it is the best poser out of all my FL dolls, I think. I may well have to do that @EriChanHime! :sweat
Seriously, this body and size doll is SO adorable! I love it! I found one wig that kinda fits and I put my Sarang face plate on her body, which I bought some months ago and absolutely adore! :DI fell in love with this mold when it came out but never got to buying a Littlefee until now. I also bought a dreaming Soony elf face plate, she just came today..... I think I'm doomed! I want bodies for them all! :sweat:sweat:love
Here is a quick picture of my sweet Sarang girl:

    23. @Zomboid Wow! She is so beautiful! You did an amazing job with her.

    24. @Zomboid - Love love love your Sarang in her frilly pink outfit.:love That really is the most adorable little face.

    25. @brightberry @vermont chick Thank you both so much! :blush I had this outfit and wig for years but never put them together for a doll, somehow this girl was put together instantly! I am SO in love with this body‘s posability, it’s sooo easy and adorably chubby. :D
I still have to do a faceup for my Rolly‘s face and my Soony elf‘s face, they are both so adorable!

    26. She is really very cute!! My congratulations! Sweet baby!

Do you know when tan skin would be available? The normal skin color is ok, but I’d like to have tanned one :)

    27. I made a 50s style pedal pusher outfit for Pipsa. It makes her look rather boyish, but she has never been fond of princess style clothes anyway.

    28. Adorable outfit @spih. Love the plaid and the big red buttons. Maybe she'd look less boyish if you changed her wig. Pigtails, maybe?

    29. @spih Well done! Is that your own pattern? Great fit!

    30. She likes her short hair.

Yes, I drafted the pattern myself. When I make a new pattern I sew a prototype from nonwoven material (a nonwoven bed sheet) to check the fit to see if the pattern needs to be adjusted somewhere.

    31. Love Pipsa's outfit, nicely done.

I was going through my old photo archives, and found this early "social distance" photo of Llama which made me long for travel and wide-open spaces. Sigh.

    32. Great photo, @clochette ! It makes me feel like packing one (or more) of my girls and heading into the hills for a photo session.

    33. @clochette your doll Is sooo sweet! She reminds me Merida Disney princess! And these wide spaces around her precisely like from the cartoon. Did you make the costume by yourself? It looks very good!

    34. Hi friends!

Has anyone received a tan LTF this year? If so, how would you describe the doll's color?

    35. Elena_Savki, thank you so much! Llama is quite the princess, Disney or otherwise ;) Yes, I did make her outfit, many moons ago when that picture was taken and LTFs were brand new. It was taken at the Mission Santa Ines near Solvang, looking out from their parking lot, such a wonderful and peaceful view. I was downloading to archive my old Photobucket account and came across it, and it made me smile.

Yes, here's my Cygne who was received in January:

    36. Ty!

Would you say her color in the photo is fairly accurate to how she is in person. I just got a LTF Cygne and she just seems soooo red to me compared to everything I've seen online

    37. Very pretty! Her whole ensemble works beautifully together, and it's nice to see another slightly older-looking LTF sculpt available.

    38. Ichi-chan and I tend to watch things together, so I took this pic of him watching something and having a bite to eat. :whee:

Thank you very much for the beautiful words!!! I am very pleased that you like my work!

    41. @Olga Borontova your doll is always very stylish! Is it Rachel mold? Why don’t you do a makeup for her?

      Thank you very much!
You are very attentive and kind :)
Ray has a new beautiful face and soon I will show her a photo in new outfits :)

    43. @Olga Borontova Fantastic attention to detail in your knitting - even in the socks and hair ribbon!
Is this your own design? It's wonderful!

Thank you for your kind words and attention to my work!
Yes, Ray and I came up with this set and its details:)

    45. This is what I love so about this site: all the adorable props, clothes, and of course dolls! Sorry I haven't been posting lately of my babes. Trust me though, they aren't neglected.I must jump on the Flicker bandwagon:

Darling Photobucket went from promising my entry plan would never change or increase, to informing me my photos would display with "photobucket" watermarked (loudly) across them, to taking them down unless I pay more, or do a monthly subscription. Pretty sad. If I ever get time (like, when I'm retired in 6 yrs) I'll make that Flicker account and learn to post from there. I don't think I'll rebuild anything, just move forward with more current photos of my kids. Great sadness, here.

      • x 1
    46. I feel for you @Darkwind. I abandoned the Bucket during the great Photobucket debacle a few years ago and never went back to transfer my old photos. I've seen their watermark in recent DoA postings. In my opinion they should pay photographers for the advertising space. They're welcome to take down my photos. I have all of them in my computer so I can post them to Flickr and then here as needed. Don't be afraid to make the jump to Flickr. I have had only good experiences in switching to them.

      • x 2
    47. Yes, I've been getting the "your account is over the limit" threat emails ever since they went nuts and decided they wanted all their users to move to Flickr or other sites . I figured their bait plan was just that, and the first plan they announced was just crazy. I've been going through to download random photos that I don't seem to have any more, but overall, that's it. I am another advocate of Flickr.

This and the loss of Dollpage unfortunately decimated some earlier threads, especially comparisons and some of the older photostories.

      • x 2
    48. The only photos I transferred were the ones that went with photostories, just to make sure I had them. I don't know what they were hoping to accomplish by kicking out those of us who used them for photo hosting, but I would think putting that huge watermark across users' photos is guaranteed to drive all photographers away.

    50. Very cute! I don't tend to use the sleeping faces, but your Ante and her blanket are adorable.

    51. @Answer42, very good knitting! So thin and accurate! Perfect work! I’m jealous to your little one, she has so nice coverlet :3nodding:

      • x 1
    52. @Answer42 - That blanket looks so soft, no wonder Ante is sleeping so blissfully. What weight of yarn did you use? It looks like laceweight...on very skinny knitting needles.

      • x 1
    53. @Elena_Savki and @clochette Thank you!
Most of the time, my bjds wear their regular faces but I like having the sleeping faces for looking down, reading, etc. I love choices!

@vermont chick I used 2 strands of 20/2 (sometimes stated 2/20) rayon thread on #0 U.S. size needles at 12 sts/inch. This thread is often used for weaving. There's about 8400 yards/pound, so it's very fine. I'm so glad it drapes nicely at this scale!

      • x 3
    54. @Answer42 - OMG, you must have eyes like a bird of prey. I wouldn't be able to see 20/2, let alone #0 needles, much less work with them. But 8400 yards/pound! That's an awful lot of projects.

      • x 1
    55. @Answer42 that blanket is wonderful! I can't imagine knitting on such small needles with that fine of thread!!
Got some play time with my little ones today.
