I just got a message from the post office from a neighbouring town that my package apparently landed there. Luckily the seller noted down my phone number on the package or it would have been a one-way trip back to where it came from... Even more lucky that my boyfriend was able to go and pick it up over there, it's in his hands as I type this. I'm so very curious.

She'll be my very first BJD and first Littlefee as well. If I like the size a little sister or brother for her is sure to follow~

 

Those ears look sparkly yet soft on the inside. Are they sueded?

 

They are flocked on the outside...they were custom made by Shannon of Sparrows shop on Etsy :-)

 

She arrived! She arrived! She arrived!

Oh dear lord, I'm in love and my throat is sore from squeeling with delight so much. My Little Fee Leah is everything I had hoped for and more. I love the size and she feels so smooth. The normal skin is so beautiful as well, I was scared it would be too yellow for my tase. I'm 100% sure she'll be getting a little brother or sister soon. A size bigger would have been less charming for me so I got terribly lucky with the YOSD size.

Any tips you have for a newcomer like me for choosing the second sculpt?

Hmm, next sculpt, Siara, just have a look at all the owner pics of any sculpts you like the look of. I have a Bisou on order, and if I ever get another, it will be Chloe.

 

Since I got my LTF Ante I yearn for a Chloe. Oh no, Bisou... Leah... or an Ante in tan! They're so addictive!

 

I finished the face-up on the sarang faceplate that I got with my January order and it's currently with it's owner but before I sent her away I took some pictures of her. I didnt quite like the ltf sarang faceplate so that's why I sold it but I think I've changed my mind. It's a pretty cute faceplate actually :3

I've always admired all your little girls and boys and it was so hard to choose a sculpt. Leah just happened to cross my path so I went for it. I don't regret it one bit but picking out a sister for her will be a little harder. I feel like I should atleast buy one sculpt from the company so I can experience that horrible waiting time most of you had to go through for your babies. I also want to get more hands...I love those little expressive fingers...

Lol! The wait is overrated! If you can find something in stock or in the MP, I believe you'll be just as happy
As for choosing the next one, I find looking at owner pics, as Bluemoonjules suggested, to be the best way to figure that out. Flickr is a good resource -- type in a sculpt name and watch what shows up. The customization aspect of bjds means I'm always finding something unexpected, even if I think I know what a sculpt can look like.

Akara -- that's it, you've sold me on keeping my Sarang faceplate -- what a gorgeous face-up!

I got this gown from PixiDust Designs on Etsy. I met the store owner at dollymeets back when I lived in California. She makes lovely things! Looks like the Etsy shop is down for San Diego Comic Con, but they'll be back!

Aww...effie is a Sarang faceplate as well? She looks so different from Akara's one. She's such a cutie pie though~! I love the vibrant hair color and the freckles. Her eyes really speak to me.

Pfff...been debating on getting more hands from Fairyland but I'm afraid that the new hands might not suit her body. Would I be able to solve that by leaving the hands in the sun a little if that is the case?

Also shopping around for wigs and a wig cap, it's pretty fun to do. Did you guys ever buy multiple wigs in different colours just to see what suits a certain doll best? I'm so very tempted to splurge but I'm afraid I won't be able to sell them to another doll lover if I don't like them. After all I'm only looking for that one perfect wig for her.

By the way I read that Honey Delf shoes fit the Littlefee but what about Honey Delf clothing? Any other clothing brands I should be looking out for?

And one more question, do you keep your little one tucked away from sunlight or do you display him/her proudly?

Now, regarding hands. Unless the body is badly yellowed (my Pukisha was) new hands don't look too bad. I was lucky as she came with 2 pairs almost as mellow as she is...

Yes, HDF clothing fits. The boots can be a bit snug.

Most things for YoSD/1/6 fit. Deoending on what style you like, have a good search on Etsy and in the Marketplace here.

I like Poinsettia's stuff, Amy Lilley, Christina's Creations, Meg Designs, Piffy Pink....If you can get Rosenlied at reasonable prices...so many choices.

Oh yes, my dolls are out in the light, but I have blinds down a lot.

@ Siara: Of course what doll you should buy should always be up to your personal feelings. It's regrettable when someone adopts a doll they don't love! However, I would submit that Rachel, Ante, Bisou are lovely siblings for Leah. They each have really similar features in different areas (eyes, cheeks, lips) of their faces so they would have that "family resemblance" going on if that's what you're looking for.

Siara: I keep my dolls behind glass in the cabinet, but most of the time i take my Kinuga out and she stands on my desk, since i'm sewing for LTF a lot lately :3 So i mostly keep her out, but there's not much sun in my room after 10am anyway xD

Your tan Chloe looks so beautiful I almost regret not sending mine to you for a face-up too. I like to have my dolls done in different styles though wich is why I use different artists.

Clochette- Love your Mio. I just got a Mio sculpt without the face up, and she is so sweet! Chien's wig is so cute! Enjoy her. At some point I will post a picture of my Mio.

 

i buy way too many wigs in multiple styles/colors searching for the perfect one. but also to give my dolls some choice since they don't always wear the same wig all the time. unfortunately i'm really bad about getting rid off wigs that don't work out. often i find they just work for another doll instead. but i do have a box of wigs i know i will never use on any doll and i keep telling myself i'll clean them out one of these days....

and my dolls aren't out in bright sunlight but they are out in the room all the time. i just keep the light filtered in the rooms they are in. (ie sheers minimum and usually light drapes) and they are never in direct sunlight except when we are out doing photoshoots

 

This exactly! I thought I was the only one. I have a box of wigs and when I get a new doll I go through all of them to see if any fit the character, but usually I end up ordering a new one. I swear to myself I'm going to sell them, I really need to, they just sit in the box, but I haven't mustered the energy to take them out, photo them on a doll and all the work involved, so there they sit. I also do the same thing with eyes.

That is going to be my exact problem, haha~ I have this beautiful carrot wig in mind for her but then again I don't imagine her with freckles or a very pale skin. Not that that should matter but I do like a little realism. I really like her as a blond as well but that seems too cliché. Perhaps a white wig then? Hmmm...not really natural either and what colour eyes would match with that... Pink perhaps! Or no wait...brown?

My mind drives me mental sometimes, haha~ I think I'll just order different wigs in different colors and hope someone will purchase the ones I have no need for. And then starts the dilemma of ordering the right eyes...

I should start sewing something for the little angel but I've never sewn anything. Are there easy undies or sock tutorials around here? *tries the search function as well*

 

Yeah, I do that, too, they all have wigs to choise from. I have sold a few wigs as well.

 

Does anyone remember how much that TS littlefees were during the last tan LTF event? And how much the hands were in tan? I know they're more but I keep forgetting HOW much and I'm trying to save up for three of my LTFs in one sweep whenever Fairyland next does their tan in LTF.

There are plenty of people with darker skin, no freckles, and carrot hair? That's totally a realistic representation if you're worried about that!

 

I remember that tan skin cost $25 more than normal and white skin.

 

I think the hands were $5 extra. I so want a tan LTF!!!

And thanks for the comments about the sarang I posted. She was a real cutie but I no longer have her. With that said, back to my dolls. Or more specifically Lunnalie, a more...how should I put it, mature littlefee? Older littlefee? Either way she's not really a toddler :3
I took a few photos of her today in the Flower Fairy LTF Chiwoo elf girl outfit. A couple of them were pretty nice but I especially like this one since she looks so "alive" in it. Like she's really looking at you (and sorry if I spook anyone, she means no harm!) ^w^

When I ordered her I had this idea that she'd be mistaken for a vampire becouse of her grace and beauty, and sort of ignorant nature. But she turned out much more cute and cuddly, so to speak. While she was only supposted to be taken for a vampire I'm kinda considering giving her small fangs. Not sure if I'll actually do it though, might need to do a mock-up first so I'm 100% sure n__n
