Wow! I don't know which I like better and the rag doll wig is too cute!

She's beautiful! The Ante elf looks so different than the human Ante. I think she looks much sweeter than my two humans. I love her!

I bought some of Mack's pillow soft earplugs. I see what you all were talking about. Just squish it around the eyes, right?

Yeah, just that. Or you can roll it into a snake and circle the eye and then squish it in.

 

That's what I do, the snake thing. ^_^ I usually make two snakes from a single earplug (they're pretty big), and wrap each side around an eye, then moosh it in.

 

So you can cut them then? Okay. Off to DD to look at eyes again.

 

I just adore your Ante elf!! I bet she will look phenomenal with freckles too!

My cats love to attack wigs as well! They run off with them and I find them hidden later around the house...

All sorts of new stuff all around today! Greer got a new wig and eyes, Jace got his NS body, and unexpectedly got a twin sister.... I had planned on selling the WS body Jace had to start with, but when I began playing around tonight with wigs and bodies and parts, we ended up with another girl Shiwoo.

She doesn't have a name yet, but here she is..hiding behind brother

 

Riely and Edward got a present from a very nice girl in Austria today

the boxes are tiny matches and the euros are tiny chocolates

 

Someone mentioned about a Valentine swap ... Would anyone be interested?
I KNOW its early but I figured it would be nice to get the details hammered out before the insanity of the holidays... three in a row people.

I was thinking a "handmade" theme: make in scale cards, or those decorated bags or shoe boxes that we all made in grade school to recieve those cards (or am I showing my age), or other item (box of chocolates, lolipops in theme, et c.). You don't have to hand make them, but it does allow for creativity.

I've never hosted one, but if you all are interested I'll do it.

Do the LeekeWorld 6/7 wigs fit the LtFs? And if they do, is the evecream color a light blonde, or well, a creamy color in real life?

I've discovered that my dog is fascinated with the doll wigs. She sneaks up and snatches them and starts chewing on them! I think she thinks they're some kind of stuffed animal/toy for her. I definitely have to watch her while I'm playing with them. She doesn't bother with them while they sit on their couch (which is on the floor and well within her range to grab them) when I'm away at work. Go figure.

Ianthe wears a Leekeworld 6/7 wig, but I would recommend getting a wig cap to put under it, cause it's a little big. I don't have a LTF wig which is eve cream, but I do have an 9/10 wig which is, and it is light blonde, but not particularly creamy.

 

Thanks for the info. It's so hard to tell what things really look like sometimes. On my computer, the evecream color looks one shade lighter than my coffee. Cue my mother and Ndnd from Futurama asking "Would you like some coffee with your milk?"

Do you know how often LeekeWorld gets new wigs in? I want a long white or milk wig, and DD only has one white wig at the moment. It will do, but ...

I have a Leekeworld 6-7 wig on my Chiwoo and it is a good fit. Mine is in baby brown, and it looks about the same in real life as it does in the pictures on DDE's website.

 

Do you use a wig cap, Sweetiemom? I'm going to order a wig today, so I'd like to get everything at once, if needed.

 

No, I have a strip of moleskin going around her head to help keep the wig on.

 

rileys wig is leekeworld, its a little loose, but I just have to add some velcro and it will stay
but hers is in black

 

Artemis's is held on with Velcro...hers is Sandy Brown which is a dark blonde

HOW on earth did you get the lashes in the closed eye? before Adel's sleepy face got scales i was trying to figure a way to put them on without getting glue EVERYWHERE and ruining the face up x.x

Sweetiemom, I love Robin´s panda clothing! I was so close to buy those wonderful panda shoes myself, but I´m not so into black and white with Menni so I didn´t get them. How lovely to see someone wearing those. Spam Robin a lot with those, they fit so nicely!

That outfit is adorable, and I love the kitty hat!!

 

It was really hard! And I almost ruined the faceup too, lol, the msc came off a little as i was moving the lashes around, but luckily i was able to paint over the spot.

So what i did was put a little bit of white elmers glue on the end of a tooth pick and carefully spread it thinly in that tiny gap between the two eyelids. then i wrestled with the lashes forever with tooth picks to press them down to get them in there, lmao!

Mischa got a mini make over. I found a white fur wig small enough to try out on her, and she just looks so cute! I also darkened her blush and lips, and added freckles to the default faceup. Just a few little tweaks and suddenly that neutral face has a lot of personality!



If you look closely at this picture, now that her lips are darker, you can see that they are a little bit open? I dont think the elf lips are any different than the basic ante lips.

Are there any special risks/care instructions for white skin dolls? I mean, it's not like I leave Zoe in the sun, but I have this image of scuffing a ws doll just by placing it on a dark surface.

And what about photographing ws dolls? Right now, I'm getting one decent picture to every 5 over-exposed/ruined pictures of Zoe. Do you need a professional set up to capture a ws face without it looking like a ghost? No offense if your doll is a ghost, mind you.

I treat my ws dolls the same as my ns ones. I dress them in dark clothes, put them on dark surfaces. Never had any problems.

I am far from a professional photographer....I have no idea what I'm doing. I just never use the flash on my camera. I use natural light or my little side table lamp for lighting.

 

yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssss!!!!!!!!! haha both Fayette and Kitty will drive Ophelia crazy..

 

I feel your pain on this. I have a number of WS dolls. Flash is absolute misery (obviously) with WS. I find the best days to take pictures are actually overcast. the clouds naturally diffuse the bright sunlight and make it perfect to take pictures. this goes for both WS and NS.

As for dark clothes or surfaces, as long as you're not dragging them through the dirt or grass and scratching the surface getting the 'stain' in the scratches, you'll be fine. And magic erasers are your best friend. I've had a few things stain (clothes and wigs) but a quick rub with the eraser and it's gone like it was never there. I actually use the eraser to give my dolls baths every now and again because they become dusty (lint from clothes and such get in the joints, especially the hip joints) and grungy (from manhandling) after a while. I handle my dolls and don't worry about it. XD Definitely invest in one of those erasers if you don't already have one.

I have a white skin tiny (not a littlefee) but she is a tad bigger than a puki, I too have problems with her not looking like a ghost, some things I do:

Get a reading lamp and place it right over her (if possable ) just out of the camrea lenz and turn off the flash so that there is light but not from the camera, or

I take her to a window with non direct light (photgraphers call it open light or open shade), meaning there is a ton of light but its not direct light. so that its bright enough to see them but not needing the camrea flash.

if all else fails you might want to invest in a better camera hate the idea of spending money on a camera when i can put that towards a doll lol

I gave the face a light spraying of msc (not too much because i didnt want the lashes to get gunky) then i just darkened them with a little pastel and painted over them with clear gloss again x3

I just put LittleFee Shiwoo + little cat outfit on layaway at DDE. This is my first BJD purchase ever and I'm so excited (and a little nervous about the cost, and how to care for him, and finding a wig and eyes, etc)! I also feel a little relieved. I've been lurking about here for so long and every time I talk myself into pressing that "Order" button, I talk myself out of it...but not today! Today I took that one small step and I'm not looking back! ^_^
