I was posing Menni today, to see how movable she actually is, and I was so surprised to see how many poses she was able to make, even she´s a bit wobbly and I´m not a master of balancing yet. Now I´m unsure, is it against rules to post to this forum pics of nude doll, so I won´t at least yet. This one isn´t showing too much I quess, so I´ll put it here for you to show how well she can balance on one foot only!

I'm quite sure nudity is okay - afterall it is a doll forum and seeing them posing naked isn't anything that should require maturity warning - it's information and we all take it as such.

I would definitely like to see more. My Pukifee doomed me to be owned by Fairyland, they are absolutely brilliant posers, nothing else comes even close to that. So I really can't wait to save up enough for a LittleFee as they are gorgeous and really excellent posers.

 

I'm always just gobsmacked when I see how well Fairyland dolls pose!

I have an odd question for someone who has both Bisou and Ante -- Is Bisou's head a lot bigger than Ante's? In some pictures, it appears that Bisou has a big ol' noggin compared to Ante but it might just be the angle of the photo. I'm wondering because of wig size. I'm looking at some very un-stretchable skin wigs while waiting for Bisou to arrive.

I have wanted an Ante for a LONG time. After seeing all of these owner pics of Bisou however, I am not so sure. Anyone have any pics of Bisou and Ante together?

Also I dream about having Ante and Bisou... They´re two really childlike ones, I adore them the most of all (though I must admit I adore all of the Littlefees... ;D ) and am so happy owning the cutie Ante already!

 

Well, Elliott is going to get her sister sooner than I had even hoped - albeit in pieces. >_>; (That sounds so terrible! lol) Should be buying Lishe faceplates from a nice girl here on DoA. Hubby will be buying them for the remaining part of my Christmas gift...now I just need to get her a body in a split!

Here's to hoping I can talk my parents into funding at least part of it for Christmas/birthday (Feb.). XD

Milly77, it's awesome to see those posing pics! I haven't gotten too adventurous with Elliott's posing yet, but it's really neat to see what they're capable of.

I'm so jealous of interesting LittleFee posing. Arggh... I must share a horrible secret. I think, I think Zoe has a bad case of the floppys. She was flippy straight out of the box, and it's always a pain to get her to stand up, let alone balance on one leg. I know she needs to have her strings tightened or whatever you do, but I'm too scared!

I've bought her off for a time with another Only Hearts toy-the ostrich came today. I had bought it, along with two cds from Hastings online. It was shipped out sans cds in this huge padded envelope. I carried the mail in with some other stuff, so I didn't notice how light the package was. And when I reached in, my arm just kept going down.

I'll take a picture tomorrow if anyone wants to see the ostrich. It's got a chicken, well ostrich butt, and is so cute.

Quick question. What can you use for eye putty? I'm asking because DD is sold out, and Volks' is pink, and I don't know how fast Volks USA ships.

I read you can use Sculpey, but I don't know about that.

 

I've read not to use Sculpey. I absolutely LOVE silicone ear plugs, they're cheap and easy to get from pretty much any drugstore (got my last box from CVS, they're holding in Luc's eyes as well as pretty much everyone else but the twins and Saturn).

 

I use the wax (silicone like Vicemage said?) ear plugs from a pharmacy. Love it, no stain, doesn't get overly sticky. The brand I use is Mack's.

DDE has cheap eye putty, and it's nice - I use it myself. Unfortunately, they seem to be out of stock right now. I need some myself, so that stinks. I hope they restock soon!

 

Yep, same stuff, though I went for CVS store brand when I bought mine, since I saw no difference at all.

Okay... this is driving me nuts, there's someone in here who makes some kickass crazy furry wigs but I can't remember their site. Help!

ViceMage, it wasn't MellowMellon, was it? I think she may be permanently closed, since she hasn't updated her site since 2008. Which bites, because I want a heap of her braid wigs for my Zoe and her future sisters.

Edit* Wait, are these the same thing as the swimmers earplugs? Becuase the type I bought (for myself) were unworkable little discs. How do you use the earplugs to place the doll eye? Because so far, I've just reused the tiny bit that came with my dolls. And then stopped messing with it when it started to lose it's stickiness.

 

Ear plugs The silicone type are very squishy. They just state to not kneed them.
They are "clear", kinda.

Also you can use the kid modeling clay that does NOT dry... plasticine?? I think its called.
I also once got a head that the person used moleskin to tape it in place... odd I thought.
What else? Kneeded earasers can be used in an emergency, but they might not hold for long and should be replaced.

I think that's all I can think of.

wigs man there are lots of them in the Marketplace... tiny bear and blushed roses do wool wigs that are real nice. Sewaddictd makes faux fur ones that are kinda cool. There are a few other well known ones, lol but I can't remember who they are.

 

I don't know if I'd use plasticene... it's got a bit of oil in it, I'd be afraid it would do things over time to my dolly's head!

I don't know about discs, but these are more like little blobs of goo that you're supposed to flatten out and stick over your ears, and which instead you roll into snakes and wrap around eyes. They work great! (And being clear, when there's a little space from the eyes not sitting right, they don't show.)

Wigs, it was someone who was posting Halloween-themed ones just recently... >.<

I use white-tac for all my guys eyes, it is like blue-tac only is won't stain because its white!

 

No prob I love her she is awesome. She custom 3 mohair wigs for me for my 3 pukisha and also made their eyes. The yingyangs that koneko wears are custom by her.

 

Auska do you like that white tac stuff for eye putty? I have the same stuff and lately I am having trouble getting it to hold the eyes. I took my Minifee out of her box the other day and the tac wasn't holding at all and her eyes were falling out.

I think I might try those silicon ear plugs.

 

Spite and Malice is another you can try. All the Kulawoozles (and their cousins) have S&M wigs. "Elena" is great to work with.

I've had the same problem. I've never been able to get the tac stuff to work well. It sticks to my skin much better than resin. I'd have fights with it just to get it to stay and sometimes that would last 5 or more minutes per eye. After a while I just gave up because it was far too frustrating. And yet I know a lot of people who swear by it. XD Maybe I'm using a bad brand. I have the silicon ear plugs. I think I will try that and see how well it works for me.

The white-tac I have is the best I can find so far. I've tried one type of ear plugs (a different brand than macks) but it was about the same except it felt oily.

Until I can find something better in Australia, that's what I'm sticking with, even though yes sometimes eyes move about after a while(weeks) but I just assumed that was normal for eyes? And I just replace the white-tac with new stuff if it needs it.

I love to change eyes around anyway! Oscar just got his new eyes in last night!

I did a quick Google and discovered that the Mack's line of ear plugs is now available in subtle beige and hunter orange. Do the plugs show any? At any rate, hunter orange would be interesting for Halloween.

I can courage you to try posing, too, as I think Menni has also quite wobbly body since beginning, and I´ve been thinking maybe she needs to be tightened, but still after a short try she was able to do quite a lot! It took some time and several tries to find right angle to keep the balance, but it worked out, as you see!

Auska, that eye colour is just amazing, so rich and beautiful! I love it.

I´ve using blue-tac and the eye putty that came with doll, both work well in use, but I´m not so fond of the blue colour and a bit worried if it will stain. I think I´ll try to find the white-tac and that silicon ear thing to try, too.

 

Nope, the ones that we are talking about are pliable. Works just like putty but like I said, less sticky. But they hold wonderfully. I'll never go back and I have a ton of regular eye putty in a box somewhere.

Once I practice on her other heads, I'll be changing her faceup. Its cute and the eyebrows aren't as bad as I thought they'd be, but I find the expression is too neutral and blank. xD I need a little more emotion. Also possibly freckles?

i was planning freckles for my ante elf too.. that face is just too sweet for me.. and she's supposed to be a carrot head.. and to me carrot heads must have freckles ^_^

 

Aww very precious. And yeah, I have to agree, that little girl needs some emotion =P But still very adorable. I can't wait to see what you do with her.

 

I'm not sure if I'm keeping her blond, haha, I considered carrot too! But I think I might go for a light strawberry blond, like leek's sandy brown or something. Or I just might go crazy and buy a weird color so she'll match my mnfs! That lavender color on eluts is kind of tempting, haha. xD

Thanks everyone! The elf face up really is very neutral, even more so than the basic ante. I'm going to paint the ante wink face today, that one will definitely have some character. xD

 

It also appears from pictures that Elf Ante's mouth isn't quite as open as the first Ante.

Does anyone have both of them to compare?

 

I tried looking at pics and I can't tell if it just looks more shut because its painted lighter or not. Its really hard to tell. The mouth doesn't look much different than the wink face mouth, but then again, the wink face might be slightly different than the basic ante too. :\

 

I have to say, MikaRen, that I adore Ko. She's so bright and punky, and I adore her eyes. They're so awesome!

I need more Ko spam!

 

I'm pretty sure that elf Ante does have a more closed mouth - looking at my human Ante, there's a definite opening to her mouth. It's not just the dark in the middle, though that makes it look even more open.

Your girl is lovely - she looks soft and sweet. I hope you're able to get her the way you want her soon!

I'm peeing in my pants! DDE just emailed me to tell me that my Bisou and Zoe are in!!! I called my hubby and asked him if I could just charge the balance and pay him back and he said YES! I'm so excited!! I can't believe they are in already! My Paisley and Emerson will be home soon!!! I'm just a little bit excited......

 

No putty should show if the eye well and the eye size are correct.
Unless you really, really squint and tilt the head to an odd angle.

 

I just use sticky-tack myself. Like that white stuff you put posters up with. It's cheap, and I've never had any problem with it.
