Fairyland Feeple60 Discussion - Part 14

May 6, 2019

    1. I actually just bought a second hand Scarlett too and she has the same problem. She’s a fullset, outfit, CoA, and everything. I’m super bummed she doesn’t fit into her tail. She’s NS too. How many Scarletts have this problem, I wonder?

Other people have suggested it was a batch of tails that went through a bad mold. Kind of disappointed that they weren’t caught by Fairyland. Still, I hope they release another big girl with a seahorse tail. (And if so, they catch any errors like this).

    2. Well, I just wanted to second what Cauldroness says here, though if what @Chikku says is true, and the molds were not correct in the first place there is nothing that can be done :( if there is a chance that the tail piece was deformed though, heating it up, and/or the hip piece might bring them back to the correct shape??? So sad to hear this happened.

    3. Mine is NS as well, and someone actually documented the tale of the incorrect tail. After much badgering and going through DDE, FL did eventually send them a new tail and they observed that there were differences between the two, almost as though the newer, correct-fitting tail came from a new mold. Puchi_Picu

This is super disappointing, I really wanted this doll but I can't imagine I'd keep her now. Shame on Fairyland for letting this problem slide.

    4. Well, please don't give up without at least trying to see if they will fix it??

    5. My Scarlett has done the same thing since I got her when she was first released. It doesn't bother me personally since you can't see it with her shirt + belt on and it doesn't hinder her posing ability. Don't get me wrong, I was a bit disappointed when I first noticed she wasn't fitting quite right, but for me she was just so perfect in every other way that I could look past it.

She's a really beautiful doll so I hope you'll give her a second chance before you make the final decision to sell her!

    6. I love all things reminiscent of steampunk :love:love:love:love she is super amazing, agreed!!!

    7. Thanks a lot! There'll be a doll convention in my city this Sunday, hopefully I can get some shoes for him!

    8. @IngieBee - Even if the mold was incorrect, you would be able to reshape the resin (slightly) after a boiling session. You can put resin hands into poses they never originally had through the boiling method. It's vinyl that returns to its original shape after heating, not resin. Resin just becomes flexible, so you can adjust however you like, and then it will cool into its new (permanent) shape.

    9. Resin will return to its original shape when boiled too. And to change it you need to hold it in the new position as it cools. You just have to be careful with it while it is cooling so you dont rewarp itin a way you dont want

    10. Deja wanted a puppy, so now she has one. Here she is with her fur baby Nola:

    11. Wow, @Nikki'sNewObsession Nola is so cool! And where did you get jointed hands that match so we'll? They're amazing!

    12. Thank you!
Déjas hands have rings, no joints, sadly.

    13. I finally understand why so many people love Fairyland, Momo arrived a few minutes ago and her posing, stability and shape is very pleasing, straight out of the box without the need for sueding or wiring, she holds very nicely :love I think this maybe the first doll I dont have to suede out of the box!

The fullset and the box for her clothes are so nice, it has an aged picture of the fullset on the box. I thought they would just place all of together in her default box. I really understand the appeal and love for Fairyland now, even the default makeup is perfectly done and so very detailed, I now wish I asked for a faceup for the sleeping face because it looks better than the company pictures XD

Im mostly surprised that this is the long leg version, so I wonder how much tinier the non-long leg version is, Ill post a few pictures once theres light, but I consider myself now a convert. I always thought people were exaggerating, but they are very nicely engineered <3

    14. I really hope you post a box opening or pictures! I also ordered a full set Momo and I can’t wait to see her.

    15. I agree, the F60 moe handles very nicely. The aesthetics weren't my favorite, but after three years of SD size dolls, I have really learned to appreciate the mechanical engineering and they look just fine in any kind of clothing. What bothers me is that the waist looks flat and wide / not properly defined, but mostly in photos. In clothed photos and in person, they look great :). CP/Fairyland are my only non-realistic dolls except for one exception, a new Luts Isabelle. And of course they have a very close history. I think they may still be the best dolls out there :D

    16. @Brenay You will love her! The fullset is amazing, the amount of detailing in the outfit is insane. I didnt do a box opening T_T I was too excited to see what all the fuss about FL was that I opened and tried everything on before doing a box opening lol.......:sweat

I changed her eyeballs because I find myself not liking the crystal eyes, they are very nice but I think I prefer black pupils over crystal ones so I changed them to dark brown eyes and also changed her wig to a ginger colored one because I wanted her to look like Rapunzel with long floor length hair lol

    17. Wow, you just left me wanting to see more of her. Please do photo spam...
I’m glad you changed her eyes and wig. I really wanted to see how she would look with regular eyes. I like the Oscar eyes a lot, but I reserve them for my Magical bjd creatures only. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, please do share more when you can. She's really cute!

    20. Popping in to see if anyone has a Feeple head / other body hybrid.
I have a Feeple60 Carol NS head that is looking for a body.

Any recommendations for female body (normal skin) but doesn't have to be a complete match.

    21. It's not so pretty naked as a feeple body, but when they are dressed, I often can't tell who has which body until I dig, LOL (also, er... a memory issue). But I have been pretty happy using Impldoll Model body for half my crew. They do color matching really well too.

Now, this body is pretty nice, but it won't have the natural movement of a Fairyland doll. It is also taller than a Moe doll, and more the size of the old F60 body.

      Here is a posing photoshoot

Here is my Halloween event head on my color matched body

Another, more upscale body would be a Supiadoll body. The old dj body looks really nice with a feeple, but it's really a pain in the butt to stand. It would probably be better with hot glue sueding?? But their normal skin is a very close match (in the past, and seems stable but you know how that goes...) It's taller than feeple but still works with SD clothes. You could go with their more realistic woman's body, but personally, I'd find it an aesthetic clash, though that's just an opinion, LOL.

Picture of my Hazy with Impl model body showing some tummy

Picture of cp/Luts on Supia dj body she is on the left with short black hair. I need to take better pictures of her, and get her a better wig!

And posing next to Supia 65cm

    22. I have my girl on a resinsoul 60cm body! She's very tall looking and lean which works wonderfully for her character, but I can see other people not being so into it.

I'm a moron who forgot to update with pictures! But better late than never?

    23. I think I saw a dollfie Dream and fairyland hybrid the other day on instragram. I didn't realize fairyland resin is a good match for Volks.

    24. Your picture is absolutely stunning! She looks amazing with those eyes and that wig

    25. @PinkBear i had my carol on a supia body for a little while. proportions were nice, but the resin match isn’t perfect. here’s a couple ig links:
i love beans on Instagram: “eiji's back on the supia body, i like her being taller i'll get a newer one for her this fall so she matches better. i'm not confident…”
      i love beans on Instagram: “eiji was being extra cute tonight #bjd #abjd #fairylandbjd #feeple60 #feeple60carol #feeplecarol #f60carol #supiadoll #bjdhybrid #legitbjd”
she’s back on the f60 body now, but she’s still a hybrid as i swapped her hands and feet for supia ones.

    26. @PinkBear Yah, for appearances, you have to rely on the judgement of others, and I would have said @Locutus 's hybrid is near perfect!

@Locutus glad to see another Queen lover. I became a fan in 5th grade when Killer Queen first hit the airwaves! :celebrate:cheer:dance:cheer:celebrate:dance:cheer

    27. @Locutus Thank you for providing the pics too. It was very helpful! I do like the proportions, resin match isn't a big deal for me.
      And for the support @IngieBee

    28. Wow, that dress is INSANE, @Brenay !!! And she is beautiful!

    29. I am just recently returning to the hobby and I have a few questions.

Other than the lack of a hip joint, is there any other differences between the basic Moe body and the Active line body? I seem to remember that the Moe body also was thicker around the hips than the A-line body, but I could be remembering wrong.

Bonus points if someone could post side by side pics!

Also, what's the difference in A-line male bodies vs M-line male bodies? I think I saw that Fairyland also has those for 60cm boy dolls on their site, but again I could be wrong. I'll go check the FL site to make sure I saw what I think I saw. *_*

      Thanks!

    30. Oops the video I have is for the minifee not feeple.

    31. First, apologies, didn't get notifications. But yes, the old feeple 60 was taller, though the new legs help bring the Moe body closer. The feet are weirdly short and fat, making it a little harder to find fashionable shoes, though not impossible. The joints on the other hand might work even better on the Moe, the rest is aesthetics. For me, I don't like the lack of hips and waist definition, but Moe looks fine in clothes, even in a bathing suit with a little angle. And here I am being super picky. My favorite are realistic dolls, but there will always be a large hole in my heart for cp and frankly, for the anime aesthetic, for Fairyland, the Moe body fits perfectly.

I am giving you all the cons I had with this body aesthetically, but I have 2 Moe's and they are the most natural and easiest to pose, even with clothes on. It. May be the best body out there though I don't think there is such a thing, since all bodies have issues and it depends on what the owner prefers :3nodding:.

    32. It's cool, I sometimes miss notifications too.

I see, the Moe body is a better stander. I have to admit I don't care for the lack of a hip joint.

If it isn't too much trouble, I would love to see someone post a boy Moe body with and without clothes next to a boy Feeple60 body. I'd love to see the differences.

Sometimes, my curiosity overwhelms me. :sweat

      Ryu

    33. Oh, I don't know about the boys unfortunately, but I can say that the Feeple60 hip joint was pretty much useless.

It's useless because there is an extension from upper body to the lower body to stabilize it, which makes it unable to bend in any direction.

    34. By "an extension," do you mean an interior one like inside the ones inside of the old Luts/CP bodies? Do you have a pic?

      Ryu

    35. Can't take a pic now...

Here is a restringing tutorial, cover picture shows the issue :D

    36. The Fairyline60 bodies (which are very, very close to Moe) do have a working waist joint, without an internal stabilizer. However, only girls, no boys.

      • x 1
    37. Really?! @Cauldroness, how well does the human version pose?

    38. I see what you mean by "upper body extension." It looks like the same thing that Luts/CP bodies have. Thank you, @IngieBee, that answered that question.

@Cauldroness, No internal stabilizer? Does the back bend and pose better without it?

Is there a video that shows the differences between a Feeple60, a Fairyline60 and a Moe body? I'm going to try and do a search for one, but if anyone knows of such a video, I'd like to see it.

      Ryu

    39. I'd love to know too!! ^^^^^

    40. I actually found a video that does compare all three bodies. It answered quite a few of my questions about the differences, as well as showed me some info I didn't know about.

    41. Not a problem, @IngieBee.

I have to admit, I like the way the Feeple60 body looks the best, despite the flaws.

      Ryu

    42. What a helpful video!

The one thing it doesn't show is that you can "activate" the Fairyline60 waist joint if you want. For example, if you want to have your doll lying on her stomach but with her head up, you can slip the torso and hips out of joint to further the extent of her back bend. It will result in an ugly gap between the torso and hips BUT if she's dressed and lying on her stomach, the gap isn't visible in photography.

The other sneaky thing you can do is totally separate the pieces. Want her to sit down, with her thighs up against her chest? You can disconnect the torso and hips entirely to make this possible. With the right clothing and photography angle, you can hide the fact that she's totally separated at the waist.

    43. Kiyoshi is coming along slowly but surely. I couldn't wait any longer on sharing pics, despite her not having her own body or her proper eyes, just yet. Its fun having a second girl even though shes not yet complete, so I'm certain when she is, I will love her even more.

    46. What a beauty, @Nikki'sNewObsession! That sweater really makes her look soft and sweet.

@Thymeseer, what a striking (striping? :XD:) faceup! Its very unique and cool!

    47. She looks great, @Thymeseer . She looks like a forest nymph ? I probably read and forgot her story, sorry!

    50. She's lovely but my wallet is thankfully safe this round!

    51. I'm half safe. I sorta like her faceup compared to the Minifee version. She kinda remind me of Ria minifee + Angell-studio aesthetic with the face up. Her outfit is growing on me but I was expecting more for their 20th anniversary. I definitely won't be safe when Maya come out in Feeple60 form.

    52. Lucywen is my favorite Fairyland sculpt and I am so not safe Q_Q

      • x 1
    53. Wait, where are you all seeing a new Lucywen sculpt?????

    54. The link that whitebread posted above :)

    55. for the 20th anniversary I was hoping for a couple - like Roke and Chloe. there was even a special price and gifts if you bought both full sets.
A 60cm pair would be so cool. I really like Erda and would jump at a new boy. The Magnolia outfit is beautiful. I can imagine a boy in a white tux with flower accents.
:chibi although why magnolia in December, I dunno. (oh, maybe because you will get it by spring)
