FairyLand Fairy Line Mini discussion part 6

Dec 27, 2019

    1. does anyone have a stringing guide for the momo bunny legs? i unstrung mine but forgot how they go into the pelvis :sweat

    2. I have been admiring fairyline dolls from afar for some time now. I really liked the mermaid Kyma when she was first released, and I find myself still going back and looking at her. I'm wondering if I need to just go ahead and buy her!
I also like the look of the dragon legs.
Anyone with Kyma have thoughts about how she is?
Of the dragon legs, are the easy to stand or is it a struggle?

    3. I have the mint dragon legs from last year and they’re fantastic to pose with. I’ve gotten Braith to stand on a tree limb and a metal fence with absolute ease!

he was probably 5 1/2 feet above the ground in this photo and I was another 3 feet back to get this picture and he stood like a rock.

Also, if there are any photos of the legs you want I can take them!

    4. My she/they dragon Erda stands like a rock.
This is on a water bed.

I have both a seahorse mermaid boy and two dolls with the new mermaid tails (one male one female). My honest thoughts are the seahorse tails pose better, but both are super pretty.

    5. @Pen-Pen thank you! That's great to know, your doll looks so cool!
@Tippetarius thank you too! OMG I don't think I would try anything on a water bed ! What a great stability test!

    6. @skyealloway re-posting my mermaid tail picture here
      [IMG]

This is from Akis the merman release, but the mechanic should be the same. It's not the best poser tbh, still it can move more than many other mermaid tails and the ease of switching between human and fantasy parts is the most beneficial of playing fairyline (I remember also took another set of photos with his human form in the same day, it's that easy even with outdoor photographing)

I admire Kyma, but have no story of girl mermaid in my head at the point she was released so I didn't get her.

    7. @xxxsaturnxxx I love the colors on the tail!! That's a beautiful picture. I don't love Kyma's overall color scheme, I think if she had been more of a pair to Akis she would have been wonderful.

I've never dyed any resin parts before but maybe a mermaid tail would be worth the effort to get it darker instead of coral or mint colored...

    8. The mint really depends on how you edit too, I just changed the saturation around a little and they look really blue in this photo even though they very much green irl.

    9. @xxxsaturnxxx That's a wonderful photo! The wig goes well with the colors of the tail :)

    10. @Pen-Pen that color looks great! Gosh I'm just going to have to keep my eyes peeled for some of these, I'm sold.

And speaking of sold, I did it! I ordered one of the Kyma's that Denver Doll still had. Perhaps not the most best financial decision, so I went ahead and put her on a layaway. But eventually I'll be the proud owner of a fairyline gal too!

    11. @skyealloway Congrats! Can't wait to see your Kyma here, please share picture when she arrive :D

What skin color and tail color did you choose?

    12. Congrats and please post pictures! There aren’t enough Kyma photos on the forum!

    13. @xxxsaturnxxx I wanted the natual skin, which sadly only the coral tail was left. I would have preferred one of the other two but maybe it'll be fine.
@Pen-Pen for sure! I spent days looking in all the places I could think of for owner photos of Kyma, and she's a rare sight! I don't know what it is about her face that I just love so much. And I think he wing fins are pretty cool too.

    14. I know it’s more money but DDE has a few of the other color tails in stock. You could always get one of those too and try to sell the coral tail.

i feel the same way about Serenia. I’ve been searching for owner photos and I think I’ve only seen 3. Which is a real shame.

    15. And just for fun, here’s more of Braith and his cool dragon legs.

    16. @Pen-Pen if I were to splurge it would be on sweet dragon legs! Those are awesome!

    17. @skyealloway - I’m so glad I splurged on them! They’re so worth it!

    18. Hi, I ordered the doe lower body in the winter event. Are the hooves detachable like normal feet with hooks? I'm curious to find out how hard it would be to just blush them or send them off to be blushed.

    19. Yes. If you grab the very bottom and pull down you can disconnect it from the leg and the entire leg will come apart. It might be a pain in the ass to get it back together again though. I nearly broke the elastic unstringing my F60 Sircca dragon legs because every thing was so tight. My minifee dragon legs don’t seem nearly as tight though, so it might be absolutely fine.

    20. Thank you for that answer. It's good to know that it will end up coming apart, before messing around with it to see how it works (I do this way too often and then have a learning experience). Definitely going to have a good look at the booklet that comes with them before I make a decision about what I'm going to do.

    21. i don’t know if the booklet even says to be honest. I know all it said for my dragon legs was don’t take them apart cause it would be too hard to get back together, but honestly I think fairyland strung those F60 dragon legs way too tightly because she can’t stand right and eventually I’ll have to restring her anyway.

There was no instruction with the minifee dragon legs I got when I bought them, just the legs.

    22. I have the small hippogryph that came out a couple of years ago and they said not to take those apart because they would be too hard to get back together, too. If we only have the option to buy them blank, someone is going to take them apart anyway, seems like it would be easier to give us some guidance. Oh well, we'll figure it out on our own, and help/teach each other while we're at it.

    23. Facts! I’ve taken Vaes’ra’s legs apart so I can 100% help you with the ones you’re getting if you need it! I suggest taking a photo or video as you’re taking them apart so you can see how everything fits back together!

    24. My doe body came in Friday and I finally got her open yesterday. I cannot for the life of me get her to stand on her own. I've tried with the upper body on and off and I'm feeling very frustrated. For now Eden's back on human legs.

    25. Oh no! Is it because the legs want to collapse? Like, the knees just won’t stay? It could just be strung really really tightly. Is there a way to take a video of it to upload?

    26. It's mostly the center of gravity, the movement of the hips/thighs are kind of limited. We (my partner and I) tried a number of positions and found one that stayed upright, but without the upper body. I'll keep trying, but the doe body is not feeling very dynamic. I may have to creatively use props to help keep them up.

    27. Oh, yeah, the hips really do only move forwards and backwards. There’s a thigh cut for the dragon legs so the leg itself can move the ankle sideways but it really can’t do much in terms of movement. ☹️

    28. The "fawn" legs are a bit em fiddley, I was told they do not fit the male torse but have found they do really well.
I tend to leave my unicorn boy sitting, but I can get him to stand for photos, it takes work and I got to make sure his stance is right.
Not sure it will help much, but here is a pic of my Unicorn-boy standing. You want to be sure joints are locked and stance is not too wide or too narrow.

    29. Thank you so much! Your unicorn boy is gorgeous and the photo helps. I noticed that the hips were kind of big for the female torso, thankfully I have a male to try. I've found I really have to be flexible with my characters when it comes to dolls. I never expected resin to be so opinionated!

    30. Thanks, I adore how he came out. Glad the photo helps some. The fawn legs are not as stable as the dragon ones, but the dragon legs also have a long tail to help cheat balance.

And resin dolls can be opinionated and expressive it's so funny, like we all know they have no life of their own and yet somehow dolls seem to make their wants known.

And for fun one more shot of my awkward and shy unicorn. He is so grumpy about being half human the poor dear.

    31. Eden finally decided that she would stand up for me! I'm so proud of her. She has let me know that she wants a different shirt asap, this one is far too bulky.

    32. I love her! She’s adorable even in a bulky shirt!

    33. @Klaw She looks good, glad she final stood nicely for you. And she she stood with slight binds in her knees so bonus points.
Fawn legged dollies seem to have extra strong personality, mine flat out wont wear shirts, and yours seems mad at the "wrong one". XD
Well she looks nice anyway. <3

    34. @Pen-Pen Thank you! I'm thinking she may need a halter top or something similar. The shirt is impeding her arms.

@Tippetarius She's behaving for the moment, I may need to suede her a little bit on her hooves and "ankles" to give her a bit more stability. I'm delighted by their strong personalities![/USER]
