I have a bit of a problem and would like to ask for advice or assistance. I have a Fairyland Lucywen horse body in mint. Both of the front legs are cracking on the upper and lower pieces, but especially the lower piece. I contacted fairyland about asking about replacement parts Of course we are more than happy to proceed with a replacement service but we do require one small thing to prove the authenticity of the doll. Could you contact us again with a FairyLand order number and Certificate of Authenticity? Also in order to make records of our services and to compile replacement request reports for our quality control administrator, I do require a picture of the damaged area as well. If the doll has been purchased as a second hand, please contact us again with a full name and email address (order number is better) the original purchaser used at our website. The problem is I don't have the CoA anymore it got lost in 1 of my 3 moves x_x And contacting the person's email on the paypal from who I bought it from, I never got a response from them. (I bought it in a Facebook group for legit dolls only bc there wasn't one on DoA at the time.) It's been like 3-4+ years or something idr. So I'm just kinda stuck here without a CoA. I know it's legit bc I had the CoA. I just misplaced the dang thing ages ago. All I can think to do now is ask around and see if someone else who has their account with fairyland, and a mint lucywen to possibly ask about replacement parts on my behalf? IDK. Any suggestions? I just don't want her to break apart, she cost me so much. o|-<
Just pop in here guessing this is a place to ask. Does anyone remember how many fairyline got release a year? Also, what time of year are to expect they will release new fairyline boy/girls? I'm saving my fund hoping to bring one of them with my favorite fantasy part home (If fairyland choose to release that part), having some estimate time in mind would help me a lot. many thanks in advance
Hello everyone, would someone happen to know if female faun parts would fit a male fairyline body? Thank you.
Hi ! nope, the female fantasy parts are smaller from the hips. I have the reverse problem (female fairyline body) with the male faun part and it's a bit too wide. However, you should be able to sand the female faun parts to make them match, the difference isn't so big !
I sincerely apologize if there's a resource for this somewhere, but I couldn't find it- does anyone have any tips for restringing the Faun Legs? I'm going batty over trying to make it work, and somehow keep ending up with one leg-string too short!
I would imagine you have a really good chance of finding the original messages with whomever you bought the body from on Facebook if you go into Messages on desktop, click "see all messages" at the bottom, and in the new page type in the search bar, search "lucywen" or "centaur body" (or similar keywords). Facebook will then search through your FB messages using them as keywords, so hopefully the original messages will pop up there! Unfortunately if you have mixed up facebook with instagram, I am not aware of there being a similar feature on instagram
Oh I actually just recently found the original owner and my missing CoA, contacted fairyland about it, and was told I can't get any replacement parts currently as they're not processing any centaurs right now so, obviously they're not going to be able to get anything cast efficiently I suppose! But it sounds like if they're releasing a doll with the same body mold in the future, a replacement request is a possibility as long as the CoA (and ideally, original purchase owner which for me, turned out to be DenverDoll) can be provided. :> I have let my brother sell the centaur parts to someone willing to work with them, and sent all of the info about this along with it. So hopefully someone can do something fun and cool with the body now instead of it sitting in a box where I'm too afraid to handle it xD The main issue was my brother was the one who handled buying her from Facebook and not me so I didn't really have access to easily finding the conversation initially. Kind of! Here's my fairyline boy on some female faun parts. You will have gaps though. It's not a perfect fit but it's also not outright awful. I only have photos of it from the front rn and there's more of a gap on the front and back than the sides I think? (And it'll have some insane anterior pelvic tilt but even male altis on his own male faun legs has that vibe goin on) You'll want to suede, or mod and maybe cover where the parts meet bc they will not be flush together if that kinda thing would bother you! I had this boy fairyline body on my centaur one as well actually. I just used some Oyumaru to make a lazy gap filling piece to keep the male fairyline body from snapping in funky angles bc of the hip size differences between the female and male bodies on the female lucywen centaur parts, it worked wonderfully for me and held the human half in place just fine. I might do the same for these female faun legs once I get all possible blushing done. (I just don't like modding stuff permanently unless I have spares LMAO) (Oyumaru (おゆまる) is a reusable putty-like plastic clay kinda substance often used in lightweight basic mold making. You put it in hot water, it melts, you shape it or make a push mold out of it, let it cool, bam. You made a thing. You can reheat it in hot water again to change the shape to whatever you need. I just heated it up, plopped it on the fantasy parts, pushed the human half into it, let it cool off, and then strung it once it cooled enough to be firm again.)
I just found this thread, the centaurs are back again this time limiting the color to Clear Smoke. the period (5/10~6/10) fairyline has two new colors to choose from Elf Gray & Blue Gray.
Hi, Im gonna share new fairyLine 'Akis' the Mermaid video I edited. Please enjoy it! Have a good day. -ex staff of CP/FL, Abel.-
Welp, I'm in love with him for sure now, merman, in an epic outfit, and it seems he has an event head with fangs. He checks so many of my what I like boxes.
I always look forward to the videos @Abel Choryeon my favorite parts are when you can see the team touching or moving the doll - it gives me a better "feel" for the doll. You do great work. I love him, but I don't know if I'll cave. I really hope they let us choose other tail colors - I'm just not feeling the smoke for a merman. :/ It's a bit too drab for me with the silver heavy outfit. I think he'd be amazing with some dark blues or something, so I'm crossing my fingers.
II suppose one could dye the smoke resin, overdye with a deep blue or something if you wanted more color to it...
I was fine with the smoke gray, and really liked it, then I saw my favorite shade of green is an option. So going green, gods though such pretty colors make it a hard choice.
I'm absolutely amazed by the different tail options! I'm going to have the hardest time choosing between the red, blue, and purples.
Ah, well... I'm doomed The red, green and dark blue are amazing. The searhose tails making a comeback makes me so happy - I hope they're updated for boys, but that BLUE oh my god. I love the orange too (I hope they continue the orange thing, it's great), but that shade of pale blue was what I always wanted. My imagination is going crazy and I'm so happy. Time to free up some money afterall
Just like tons of people, I've been waiting years for them to rerelease the seahorse tail, and I'm so happy! (Not so great for my wallet though ). I definitely want to get both the mermaid and seahorse tail. For the mermaid, clear blue it is! For the seahorse, I'm not sure. I would have loved to get it in clear red, but that's not an option . I'm also not a huge fan of orange or brown or the sold gray-blue color. I wish they offered the same colors for the seahorse tail as the mermaid tail
A hybridizing Minifee Fairyline Reference thread, where I've posted my test fit of one type of body on a Seahorse tail. If you have reference of what fits which bits, I thought it'd be nice to have a thread for that specifically.
I wish the seahorse tail came in the clear violet like the mer tails. My Alicia boy would love a companion.
After a hard time choosing between so many color options, I ended up placing a pre-order for the original clear smoke black tail I was soooo tempted for the blue and red one, but turn out choosing black haha... Please share with me which mermaid/seahorse tail color that you finally choose. And I'm so excite to see everyone's order when they arrive too!
Hi im thinking of selling one of my MNFs but i cant find much reverence for how much. Can i ask here for a advise? I searched here and googled but google just gave me recasts of her. Didnt even know Sircca was recasted.
Sircca is a very popular sculpt, had you try searched the marketplace here? (And Sold doll archive) I think there're enough reference there. Minifee full doll with COA can go from 350- over 800 depend on sculpt (and seller will), 450-550 seem to be a fair price for the one with none to minimal yellowing in my opinion. (Please noted that this is from what I saw in the past + the base value in cpfairyland website) After all, these dolls are considered art pieces, and how the seller/buyer value the doll is something personal. I'm not against neither any who sell high nor the seller who go... for example 350 to let the doll find their new home asap. Everyone have their reason.
You might be able to tint an orange resin tail over to red with dye, but I wonder if it would make it cloudy- Probably not since crafters dye Worbla plastic using iDye Poly without causing it to become less clear.
Thank you for the idea! I never really done modding of any level so dying the tail myself never crossed my mind. I'm scared to mess it up, but I might still try it.
You could always commission someone more experienced, if you aren't comfortable with it, but it's not too difficult to do.
Warning: They've changed something about the Fairyline bodies since their first run, alright. Confirmed. Old FL bodies might be necessary to fit older FL leg parts. I bought a brand new Fairyline Body because I didn't want to have to mod a basic body to fit my first edition Sia Tail. Surely a Fairyline body made for this tail would be a perfect fit, right? But I will have to anyway, because it doesn't fit! I can do it, I'm just grouchy at forking over so much more to get the same problem. That "fast-change" system would be a simple mod to add to a Normal body- the bit I didn't want to work on was fitting the hips to the tail. But it looks like I have to do it. Sigh. The one saving point here is that at least this Celine is beautiful. I'm calling her Ondine.
@Rosslyn They might not have changed the bodies or tails, or this might be coincidence. However I have a second hand Sia seahorse from their first release/first edition that I had to mod to fit it's own tail. So to explain in some details. I got this wonderful Sia that came with tail, extra chest pieces, sleeping head, but no outfit or human legs or human arms. It had been out of the box once before it was sold by the first owner, and I bought it. (So years in it's box) I got the doll home changed it to the flat bust and tried to put it's tail on, and it seemed to not fit very good at all. My Sia's upper torso didn't set flush to the tail and looked just like your image does with it popped out to the side. No posing tricks work to get it to fit the tail it was made with so in the end I sanded down the torso to fit the tail. I don't have a before sanding photo that shows the ill fit of the body and tail, but I have after ones showing how only a little sanding helps it fit flush into place. This is my Sia boy Ezra after his small mods. Ezra Westbrook
He looks great! and that is reassuring to hear, that you were able to get a nice fit. I'll probably take my cerra canna knife and sanding papers to her this evening. She's too pretty to quit on.
@Rosslyn thanks I'm very proud of his minor modding both the gills and the sanding to fit. (As he was the first BJD I sanded all by myself.) Part of me feels like tail fit issue is more with the older tails themselves, vs the human torso parts, or even newer tails based on images I've seen. I feel like the early ones may have been either a very tight fit or some other quirk is to blame here. Can clear resin shrink? Both your tail and mine had been a while in storage without the upper body in place not sure if that could effect fit. I have no real answers as to why our two first editions Sia tails don't fit the upper bodies right, but it's nothing some elbowwork and sanding doesn't fix as my Ezra proves. Good luck modding the fit.
Yeah I think youre right. It must be something like. I can't work out why, otherwise. Or maybe somewhere between silicone mold making things changed enough that stuff just doesn't match up? No clue. it is indeed a mystery. Today and some of yesterday I spent time scraping, fitting and scraping again to mod down Ondine's (Celine) stomach piece to fit into the fishy hips, and it took many hours but I am pleased with the result: Modding of course does give you a discoloring on tan resin but if I don't like how I cover it, I might dye a gradient from this teal color the tail has, fading up into the stomach piece over that discoloring.
^ Here is my post from the Mini Centaur thread with pics. My future alicorn (Pegasus+Unicorn, yes I play Dungeons and Dragons) boy was originally ordered in the Black-Gray, but DDE sent me the wrong color, and I am happy that they did! I fell in love with the Clear Smoke color from the first time I saw it. Fairyland FairyLine Centaur body (ver. 1) by Ryuichi Sakuma, on Flickr Oh, in case you were wondering, here is the Spoiler: Clear Smoke Winged Centaur no human body by Ryuichi Sakuma, on Flickr color in sunlight. I really love that it is a purplish color in sunlight. Ryu
Hoping to see someone's centaur, or even the full horse! Has anyone done a faceup and body blush on their centaur/winged centaur yet? Also, is there a thread for discussion of the horse/horse with head, or does it count as part of this one? I'm more curious about it than anything. Ryu
I think the horse is count by company as a "Fairyline", so he could be here I wish to see a picture of one too.
Hello ! I'm waiting for a Fairyline centaur girl body and I've been asking for comission for wig and horse tail. The seller ask me how the tail is attached to the body. I've seen a tutorial for a soom body but the attachement part seem to be different. How does it go for a fairyline centaur ? Could anyone show me pictures of fiber tail, please ?
My call! All of my centaurs have real alpaca hair tails: This is how they attach: (Never mind the pink stiff, thats a bit of putty because that specific tail is wobbly...)
Thank you very much ! It will help a lot ! And do you know if it's positive or negative magnet inside the tail ? Your centaur dolls are lovely btw
All Fairyland MNF/Fairyline hands have the magnets in them the same way, and I can say that the -right- hand sticks to the tail connector, if that helps!
I just put a centaur body and horse head with horn on layaway. I have not seen any owner pics of them and would see some if anyone has them.
I own this! I thought they were so so so cool. The head is weirdly small, but I couldn't help own something brave and unique FL made. I haven't posted pictures yet because I wanted to paint it a little first, but it's on the backburner for a while. The head moves more than expected. It's pretty neat.
Anyone have a Pantone color swatch that you know is close to fairyland ns and/or tan for a resinsoul color match, by chance? I know I can always color match a head to a body with paint, but I'd like to get the resin colors as close as matching as possible, but I can't send a color sample (resin or otherwise).
I think "Vanilla Cream" is very close to NS, "Nude" close to a slightly aged color and "tender peach" even more aged. https://margaret2.github.io/pantone-colors/ I compared my recently arrived vampire chloe, slightly older hands I ordered last year and my Sircca/Nanuri 2014 from their respective releases.
Thankyou, meanae! I'm not against getting color matching done with paint - my friend color matched my hybrid Soony to myou coffee, after all - but it's nice when it's at least a "similar" color, lol. Plus I really am not a fan of modern resinsoul NS, it's really a pinky-white color and unless I am going for a character who lacks melanin altogether, I prefer to not go paler than like... dollzone nsp. Really nice that website gives the hex code! I know monitor colors isn't 100% but perhaps I'll pull some of my resin pieces in a bit.
I somehow missed your comment. I would love to see pics of your horse. Is yours black/grey too? I just paid mine off today so I hope they ship it asap. I will take a bunch of pics when mine arrives.
My future centaur boy's horse head just arrived today! Hopefully, I can help you out. Sure, its a placeholder head, at least until I get the human upper body part, but I'm really happy with how it looks on him. (I call him Centaur Boy, at least until I can get his human parts and he tells me his name. ) @Kavarr, like I mentioned above, he is a hybrid of colors, so his head is the black-gray color, his body is the smoky gray and his wings are white. The first pic is him with the flash, it shows the difference between the Black Gray and the Clear Smoke. Its dark here, so its not really visible unless I use flash or put him under a strong light. I just realized I never posted here when I got Braith. He’s on the mint dragon legs from earlier this year.
Ahhhhh he looks so good!!! I love him with the horse head. Are you going to do any blushing? Mine will remain in horse/unicorn form and I am not sure yet what blushing I will do. I may get some wings if I see any up for sale in the future as they look amazing. DDE sent a shipping notice so he is already in the post.
@Pen-Pen, your boy is really cute! Honestly @Kavarr , I have no artistic talent when it comes to painting/blushing, so I would have to send him out if I wanted him blushed in any way. Hmmm....tha's actually something I hadn't considered. He would look pretty nice with some gold blushing and maybe gold hooves. *thinking* I an actually planning on having him made to be a "overo," which I talked about more in the Mini Centaur thread. Here are the links if you want to go read them. Link One Link Two Quick question, does anyone know what years and for how long were the horse heads out? Ryu
I would need to commission an artist too. A little blushing would look great though. Gold would look so good on the black. I will need to take a look at the mini centaur thread. Mine arrived today and he is so detailed. He stands solidly which is great as I think restringing would be a nightmare. Here are some pics I took today.
Oh, he is gorgeous! But then again, we knew he would be! Congrats! Is it weird that I'm now wondering what I want to do with my boy's horse head once I get his human half? Ryu
Ooohhhhh, I thought it was just my boy who had that issue! He's yeeted himself off his mermaid tail twice already. I guess I'll stick him on the maintenance list. He's lucky he's so dang cute.
Oh dear, sorry it happened to you too. I spent a day or two sanding hips and checking fit, over and over, but eventually it's doable. We just... shouldn't have to do it.
Ngl, I'm hoping that when I finally get the human part of my centaur boy, that I won't need to do any sanding, especially since he'll be tan. But for now I'm waiting for their super-dark tan (I can't find the example I was shown before) to be available in FairyLine, hopefully during an event. Ryu
