On this point it depends ! I have two fairyline bodies, one I've bought directly from fairyland and the other I'm the second owner but I have proof that it's a legit one and... on the first, only my mio head works. On the second, my risse head fits perfectly too, without the modding that I planned to do... If I remember well, fairyland wrote somewhere the list of head "that wont fit" on a fairyline body. ( But Risse head was on this list and it works on my second body... so )
I'm curious if some MiniFee heads would work on the Fairyline body, I'm a big newbie to Fairyland dolls. x'D I'd love to consider a couple secondhand heads from friends or places to put on my Altis faun body.
Spoiler: Doll nudity warning fairyline boy with girl legs by BabySnowBJD, on Flickr It's not a perfect fit- you'd have to trim down the boy a little to make it work.
Ended up switching the twins so that their face-ups suited their aesthetics and personalitites more. I like it.
Some of them definitely can; I've got a Karsh head on my Sia body: Arioch's New Wig by vicemage, on Flickr And my Altis body has the Engraved Halloween Head instead of the standard one. (Someday I'll figure out what to do with that poor boy...)
I have a similar question... is it possible to use a FairyLine boy body for the seahorse (mermaid) parts?
Short answer: I wouldn't recommend it. longer answer: sure, the parts will connect, but you're going to get a lot of gapping, which looks bad and lets the parts shift around and makes it really hard to pose the doll in any stable way. I have most of the Fairyline body types and I do not recommend mixing any of the male/female parts in any way. Modding the fit would probably be tricky because a lot of the pieces are very thin. For people who want a male seahorse, imo it's better to hunt down one of the flat Sia busts (or mod a different female bust); for people who want a female faun, I believe Fairyland actually makes an adapter for that. Of course, if you're not going to play around posing the doll very much, maybe it doesn't matter. here's an unrelated pic b/c I was surprised how much taller the dragon body is than the centaur girls:
That is SUCH a cute little room and I love the dragon legs. But it is a shame to hear the parts aren't completely swappable -- understandable but a little sad.
IMG_20200811_145143_288 by Lilly Cullen, on Flickr Lapinduce, my Mio head on a Momo bunny body! I'm absolutely loving this new wig on her.
Hi again! I've read that not all heads fit on the FairyLine body and I was wondering if any of you have a Rena head on a FairyLine body, just to make sure that my plans are possible to complete.
Okay, I am torn and maybe someone here can help me. I ordered the full set Luha in NS from DDE. I asked them if Fairyland has plans to sell her a la carte later on the Fairyline body, and the answer was no, unfortunately. I have a pair of WS Momo bunny legs here, but the upper body is tan so I would need a different upper body. Part of me really thinks having Luha in all WS on the bunny legs would be adorable, but do I want to change my order to WS? Or should I stick with NS? With no plans to have her as an a la carte for Fairyline, does that mean the head wouldn't work on a Fairyline body if I chose to get a WS one later? Argh!!
MOST of the minifee heads work on the fairyline body, the ones that don't are definitely a minority and (thus far) always say in the doll description if they don't since they know sometimes people do splits and what-not. So if you're in a place where you're wanting to wait to get a fairyline body for her later, I think you should be safe. Worse comes to worse, you can just ask if it's compatible?? DDE should be able to find out for you.
The compatibility problem of some head can also be "random". I wanted for long a Risse head on a fairyline body, but Risse is one of the few heads that is no compatible. On my first body, it didn't work, so I bought a normal neckpart and I decided to do some mod / hybridation and... on my second body, it worked perfectly, without any problem. I'm 100% sure both are legit, but the first one is from Sia, the second from another fairyline doll... In the worst of the case, you can slightly reduce the neckpart with sanding.
Thank you both so much!! Fairyland confirmed that it should fit okay on the Fairyline body. Here's hoping it isn't too late to change my order to WS. eta: And that was a no...
@Tippetarius That IS an option. Never hosted one before, though. I have a lot to think about! I already have the perfect purple-grey wig for her, and I have lots of eyes to choose from, so with the fullset outfit she would be set! She will be the perfect companion for my Altis.
New Fairyline winter 2020 Faul girl! Pictues on Kim Sunhwa's facebook page or here ! She is an absolute stunner and I must say I am really enjoying the more dreamy faces they are releasing of late
Omg, I adore the new girl so much!!~ Its very rare that I like both the default head and fantasy parts together on any given Fairyline release, but this time I adore everything about her! I love the way her legs are sculpted more simplistically with less fur than with Altis's legs. I can't stop thinking she'd make a beautiful Kirin/Qilin and i'm pretty sure i'm doomed haha~
I am doomed as well! I am absolutely in love with those legs but I am wanting to out them on a boy which I know is very hard because the legs wont ve compatible with the boy Fairyline body so I'll either have to get a cutie bust and sand it down or get lucky and find one of those Sia male chest pieces
@SuperShawol Hehe, glad i'm not the only one~ Can't wait to order her! I hope there will be a fun event head too!~ Oh, I'm sure she would make a lovely boy too! From experience, yeah, the boy upper body tends to not fit the girl fantasy lower halves well at all. I've had the girl body with the male chest piece though, and it looks really nice! I hope you can find one.
I don't mind it also being curvier/more feminine because that's the character I have in mind anyways! I'm patiently awaiting when Fairyland updates us on what packages there are and how much they cost. If they release a male bust piece again I'm going to lose my mind
Can anyone with an Erda take some measurements of his head for me? I'm trying to order his wig so it will be here before he does.
I'd love to help, but I just hot glued my Erda's fur wig in place. I can say a 6/7 wig is a bit snug I think the MNF/Fairyline Erda's head is either a size 7 even or a teeny bit over size 7. I know that's not much, but hope it helps some.
Do we know when the winter event usually launches? I think the new faun girl has a tight trip on my heart strings and I don't want to miss her! I hope they have a fun event and also that they have mercy on our wallets.. I haven't been this excited for a release in a lot time though (except for Obi, after being traumatized that I missed his release) it reminds me of the "old days" when soom launched their faun girl
@Tippetarius It did help a little! Thank you. I still need the measurements but the commissioner said that helped narrow some size down.
May I request some pictures of people's lovely Erda's? I'm considering ordering him before Fairyland "temporarily" retires him.
It is currently unknown when they will open up their winter event. I'm guessing it'll open up AFTER Dec 10, which is the last day to order from the long list of "temporary" discontinuing of MNF molds.
I am curious if Dina's Doe parts have a tail like Altis does? The floofy outfit hides her backside. I really hope so, as the tail on my Altis amuses me so much. I love that the jointed tail can add a bit to the emotions shown in poses. Has anyone seen extra pics that might not be on Fairyland's site? I am tempted to ask them.
I hope that they will release the video like they did with others fairyline dolls ^^ I was curious about the tail too but anyway ended up buying Dina
I had been wondering if Dina had a tiny tail like Altis too, and upon closer inspection of her promo photos, it looks like she does! If you look at the second photo of her sleeping head (the closer one, look just under the tip of her deer ear on the right side of the photo) you can see she does have a tail, but it's hard to see the detail as its blurred because of the angle. Its THIS PHOTO. Speaking of the tail, for anyone who is familiar with Altis' tail, does it at any point attach with magnets or is it strung all the way through? From the photos I could find it looks like the base of the tail is strung to the body but the actual tail looks like it could attach to that base via a magnet (like Erda's tail), but i'm not sure. I ask because I'm planning to make my Dina a Qilin so i'd like to replace her short tail with a long thin one more fitting for the theme, and it's likely to be engineered similarly to Altis' tail. Congrats to everyone else who ordered Dina too!~
@Arkelle You are right!! Squee! Thank you for that! Here is a quick pic of Altis's tail. There is a peg that is strung in the doll (at least I am pretty sure it is strung, it wouldn't budge very much when I pulled the peg). Both the peg and inside the tail have magnets. Hope that helps, but let me know if you need another photo.
@redmaiko You're so welcome! I'm glad I could help! And thank you so much too for the photos! That's exactly what I was thinking/hoping for! That should make it super easy to attach a new tail on Dina, assuming she has the same system. That's exciting! Knowing this I think I might also try to make an adapter for Dina's tail to be used on my Momo bunny body, since mine currently doesn't have a tail and bunny/deer tails are very similarly shaped~
I'd love to see more fairyline photos The special legs are some of my favorite items made by fairyland, but you don't see them that often. I ordered Dina and can't wait to see her in person!
Hiya - I just received my fairyline Sia from FL (had planned to put her on my centaur body - however ordered a Dina for that so she will stay human). I love her however her arms make a weird clicking sound at the elbow... is this normal for fairyline? I notice so much about the body is different to my Minifee Moe body. I am also getting used to the thigh joints....
The clicking is normal! The fairyline body just has extra grooves and whatnot that allow the joints to click into a position so it will hold better, rather than just relying on the tension provided by the elastic like the minifee bodies ^_^ it’s the same thing with the hips.
Thanks for the explanation @Hakari-chan - I was scared I was doing something wrong but I am super impressed with it! Really lovely just dont want to hurt her
I wonder if they're going to put Dina on the al la cart options? EDIT: I asked and they said they would after their website renewal!~
I’m sorry if this has already been answered or if this isn’t the right place to be asking this but if anyone can help that would be very much appreciated. Does anyone know if the Erda head will ever be offered as a basic a la carte head? I’m not very familiar with fairyland or their practices so I’m sorry if this is a stupid question.
The Erda head was discontinued back in December along with a bunch of other sculpts. Fairyland is currently running a survey on their website, asking people which sculpts they would like to see come back, so if you want to get him, I suggest doing that.
My Fairyline Mirwen boy and Altis legs arrived today, no shipping notice email just BOOM, hello and goodmorning! I placed my order back at the end of November, so it must have helped that nothing was ordered with blushing.
Hi!! I pulled out my Fairyline centaur body to try and decide if I want to keep my boy on Altis's faun legs or on a centaur body but I just discovered that the front knees are cracking. :'D I assume it's because of the elastic tension. These dudes are strung so tight. So I guess friendly reminder to check your dolls. But also: Anyone with experience or have a diagram of these guys? Just replacing the hooves on this was so hard for my stick man arms LMAO.
I had the cracking knee problem on my lucywen centaur body too. I contacted FL and they send me a replacement part, thankfully...
There are more photos in my Flickr, but I took some photos comparing the Altis and Dina legs. The tails are interchangeable which is cool. I switched the legs around, and the male Fairyline body upper fits, but flops a decent amount in the Doe legs just in case anyone is curious. I took a quick video of it which is also uploaded to Flickr. Overall, I still prefer the Faun legs because of all the detail, but the Doe legs are definitely nice too. A comparison of Altis Faun and Dina Doe legs by Tineke, on Flickr
They look amazing @redmaiko. I hope to locate a unicorn/centaur tail piece to attach to the doe legs. I am definitely loving the fantasy parts more than I expected.
Man I wish I had been able to have gotten a doe. Oh well, I got other lovelies and I can enjoy doe legged dolls through others from a far.
The last coat of sealer is now drying on my Luha’s rabbit legs! I am so excited and nervous at the same time to put her together tomorrow. I know it will inevitably happen that paint will chip with those joints, but hopefully not for a while! I have a soom hoofie tiny that has lasted well and hoping the same in this case.
I received my Dina Faun legs the other day and I finally got to get my snow prince hybrid boy together! He's the prince of a very snowy kingdom and he's been blessed with rare genes of a faun hybrid. I absolutely love finding out more about this boy and his world as he tells me details. I have his knight started as well, my Scar Shiwoo, and the hunter who finds him out in the woods after an incident that finds him outside the castle town, my Scar Breakaway. I can NOT wait to write about these guys for NaNoWriMo this year!
