I'm going to keep her strictly as a girl. I have a feeling fairyland is cooking something up boy wise in the "Fairyline" so I'm holding out for it.

Late to the thread (darn school! :P), but, I'm SO thrilled for you! I was really hoping you would get that worked out.

Also happy to know that they're willing to work around individual needs for layaway plans, as I might need to make a change to mine.

Male chest piece! I wonder what color that'll be in o3o. Now I kinda wish I had gotten a tail so I could've had a male seahorse.

And sold out! I checked the stock right before I left home and just knew they would be gone very soon. Congrats to everyone who got one!

 

I wonder how many people ordered the pink tails? I ordered the MintGreen one with my Sia cause I m actually planing on making her a naga versus a seahorse but I am really wondering how many people ordered the pink ones. I see a lot have ordered the crystal blue ones.

Yahoo I got the invoice from DDE! They said they sent the invoice yesterday but it had a missing letter in my PayPal address. DDE corrected it and I finally got the invoice this morning. So it's official I'm getting the full set Sia I ordered yesterday morning!

I gave Sia a miss this time and went a little crazy with the colours for Mari instead and ordered another two ~ pink and tan! Conrats to those who got her though she is beautiful.

 

I thankfully bought my Sia before she was out of stock, went with the default makeup and mint green tail. The price is still stressing me out a lot but I know I will be kicking myself later if cancel my order >.<

 

They have stated that next will be mermaid men.

 

Not sure why they didn't post the color options on the product pages, but they did have them on their blog when orders opened. They also announced (forgive me- not sure WHEN- I think it was a day or 2 before Sia orders opened) that the F-Line body would be compatible with MNF heads, hands, etc. and could share wigs and such.

As for the event heads, I'm just glad Minifees are the only FL dolls I own so far (though I want a Pukifee, Littlefee, and Realfee in the future LOL!), so that made my choice a pretty easy one.

I ALMOST got either pastel pink or clear pink because I ordered a tan Sia. I have always loved the tan/pink combo. However, I could not resist the color of that clear blue tail so I went with that one. If this tail had in fact been a mermaid tail instead of a seahorse tail, I probably would have been begging my husband for 2 different colors LOL!

Oh no- did I miss an announcement or something? I don't have any plans for a merman but if he comes with an actual mermaid tail I'm in so much trouble!!

Hmmm.. thinking here.. if FL releases Mermaid MEN only next time, and the F-Line is an actual mermaid tail instead of seahorse, maybe that's why they gave us so many floating boobies! LOL! The male chest piece will HOPEFULLY be compatible with our Sias, so maybe the female chest pieces will be able to be put on these Mermaid men? I don't know about the stomach though... and are MNF male and female hands the same?

 

I really am kicking myself over not ordering in tan but oh well every event I order I regret not ordering in tan skin lol I think to myself but it is more money plus ns I can swap heads with my other ns ones if I wanted to lol. I hope they do release different tail pieces like fins etc.

Oh they most definitely are...I think giving us this male chest shows their hand a bit. They may have already designed something, they just haven't finalized anything. I just hope I don't fall in love with it Dx I'm trying to make this year my last HURRAH year for anything and everything, my only exception being a dream doll. If I can find the funds for her I might possibly get her. But for the next two years I'll be pinching pennies for some trips I'll hopefully be able to take~

If I had ordered Sia's tail, I would have gone with transparent blue--it's gorgeous. And my favorite color for Mari is translucent pink.

 

i ordered a tan human Sia but if i had ordered a tail i would have ordered transluscent pink `w` i think that would look really great with tan! i have a loongsoul mermaid with a clear blue tail and it looks awesome. i am not bothered by being able to see the elastic a little bit.

 

Ok to clear my confusion on the boobs that will come with my order. Want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. Since I ordered Sia full set human/seahorse she comes with the OMG full bust in the picture, then the large bust F, and then the cutie bust F, plus I was given a choice of my gift as a large bust or cutie bust. So if I am understanding this my girl will have full bust, 2 large bust, and 1 cutie bust. I was in such a hurry to get my order placed I somehow overlooked she would come with all of the different sizes.

I was just stressing over the color of tail to order. sometimes having too many choices is as bad as no choices.

Are you all referring to the cutie bust as the "male" bust/chest?

I am curious to where the info for the merman line was I would love to take a peek.

I just hope Fairyland gives us enough time to recoup from this order before they offer the mermen!

"For ALL [ Fairy Line : Sia ] orders (basics, Full Package, and Full Option package) :

One secret unreleased male mermaid chest piece will be automatically included in any orders containing one or more Fairy Line doll."

They have not released any pictures of this chest piece, so it is unknown if they will, or if we have to wait till someone receives theirs.

 

If you ordered full option (all the options) you will receive full, large, cutie and male busts. (as far as I understand) Whooa that's a lot of busts!

 

As I recall, Rin and Tika just had special feet, not actual animal-part legs, though someone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. And the difference between A-Line and M-line is trivial compared to the difference between F-Line and A-Line; M-Line is just a different way of making a regular BJD body, while F-Line has a lot of (really fascinating!) tweaks to the engineering, stringing, and so on. So it makes perfect sense why FairyLine is classified separately from MiniFee, even if there are interchangeable parts.

Just to answer your curiosity Ordering direct, there's an item for "event item" on the FL site. You just go in there, select color and part, and add to cart. If you're placing an order where you're eligible for multiple event items, you repeat for each item. (That was one of the more agonizing parts of my order; I was eligible for 3 items, and had to deal with the site crashing through adding all three, in addition to having to add Sia to my cart twice.)

*faints* This couldn't be more perfect for me! I picked the "cutie" bust because of it being "maybe small enough to pass as male," and now I can actually get a real male chest too? *faints again*

I honestly don't think they expected to sell out quite so fast, and figured the pictures would be up in plenty of time (and for those who aren't getting Sia, there's still time for them to see the pictures and decide for their order). I'm glad I guessed well on mine (I like all three I chose), but it's a little disappointing that they guessed wrong on that timing. (And I'm a little disappointed that none had pointy ears!) Hopefully there can be some direct trading between people who would have preferred picking another one. I don't think FL allows switching of items, but maybe in light of the situation here, it wouldn't hurt to ask them about the possibility, as well.

I'm with some of the others, where did you see this? I haven't seen it anywhere at all, either.

 

Looking at the mechanic's in fairyland's introduction video of Sia, what really drew me into getting the seahorse basic is that it looks like her fins can go on the bottom of her tail as an extra option. If you can't put both of them, it is a really easy modification you can make, and something I plan to do!

I like playing around with my dolls and enjoy taking photography with them, so the more options--- the better! I love having variety in my photo-shoots.

As for tail color: I really enjoyed all of them! It was so hard to choose. I decided to go with normal mint, because I had already envisioned putting a lot of delicate markings which unfortunately wouldn't show up well on the translucent resin.

Airbrushing the translucent resin make's such a beautiful look though. I can't wait to see what others are going to do with their Sia and Mari dolls. I always love seeing the different interpretations with one sculpt.

 

Has any one ever had a serious desire to just play with a doll?
I've no interest in owning Sia but man do I want to just play with all the parts that are going to be coming with this doll.

 

I am also looking forward to see how everyone will personalize Sia. I really wanted a pink tail but selected the mint so I could add other colors to enhance it. Maybe when they offer again in June I can get a pink tailed friend for her. I can't wait to see what the gift mnf head looks like.

I looked at the link to the merman chest piece. I hope those of us who ordered from DDE get one as well as those who ordered directly from Fairyland. Sounds like Fairyland really did not anticipate how many people would be trying to order her.

I have so enjoyed reading this thread. I ended up not ordering this time, but have continued to follow the thread because of all the positive energy. I can feel all the excitement just reading what everyone has to say. I am so happy for everyone and can't wait to see pictures. ​

While I definitely want to own Sia (and am still super jazzed I scored one, and even more now that I might not actually need a male body in the future, just a new head), I really, really can't wait to play with him/her, too! I wanted her from the point of seeing the concept art, but after seeing the video showing off all the parts and engineering they put into her, I really wanted to get my hands on her one way or another!

 

Congrats to everyone who ordered a Sia! I can't wait to see photos of that beautiful tail!

I'm also pretty smitten with that FLAM MNF event head and look forward to seeing what owners do with it.

 

So just to clarify, because I am still somewhat confused on it. If you ordered the 'Large Bust Full" for Sia, you also get the Large Bust? @_@;
(so super excited about the male bust, for real.)

 

Her default bust is the "full" (huge) bust.
Then you got to choose a gift bust that was either "large" or "cutie" (similar to the a line busts of those names, I assume, whereas the default "full" bust is probably similar to the m line full bust).
Unless you ordered the full option package (the most expensive one), then they gave you all three female busts automatically.
Then everyone who ordered a fairy line doll also gets the "apology" male bust.

I'm a bit worried now. I added Sia to my orders at 7am PST on the 7th, but didn't pay right away since the event heads weren't out yet. It said there's a 7 day grace period to make the payment on an order.
Today I sent them the payment since it looks like even if I wanted to add a tail to up my order amount that wasn't going to happen with her being sold out.
I got an email this evening saying that they returned my payment.
Do they not like credit cards through Paypal? I know funds aren't an issue, so I'm unsure as to what's happened.
I guess I'll have to hope they get back to me soon with an answer.

 

Did you order through Denver doll? Cause they stated on theyre Facebook page if you don't pay within 24 hours they'll automatically cancel it.

 

I bought her from FL with my PayPal and I didn't have enough in there to completely cover her cost so it took a little out of the bank account I have linked to PayPal and everything appears to have worked out fine >.< I don't know if that is the same as using a credit card through PayPal though

 

I ordered through FL, and I double checked my card yesterday to ensure it wasn't harbouring some unexpected charges. It was all good.
The Paypal email about the returned payment stated that FL was the one to send it back, and so they couldn't say why, but that some sellers don't take payments from credit cards through Paypal, but instead only from bank accounts or Paypal balances. I'm hoping that's all that's wrong here.

Edit: They emailed me back pretty quick. They're looking into it, but have noted my order to ensure it doesn't get cancelled in the meanwhile. Phew!

 

I've paid with a credit card through Paypal at FL in the past and didn't have any problems. Maybe it was just that they weren't sure what order it was for or something like that? Hopefully it gets sorted out quickly for you!

This is a new credit card (since my last one got caught up in some fraud stuff) and there's been some issues with it on some sites since I got it. I don't think they registered all it's info correctly. I don't know if that would effect Paypal though, since it registered fine with them, which involves a small test transaction.
I'm really happy that Sia is assured to me now. She'd easily acquire grail status over a short time with me, and then I'd end up paying grail money for her.

 

@kita8 Ah that's makes sense! Maybe your credit card company flagged the charge because it was a big out of country transaction? Especially if it's a fairly new card!

Sia, in just a matter of days, quickly reached grail status for me. I'm so excited for both my girls to come home, and although money's gonna be alittle tight for me for the next few months she's SO worth it!

 

Just realised that with the full option package i will be lacking just a belly part to make 2 full dolls....can't help wondering if i can make a belly part with apoxie or something. If I give the homemade part to the human doll it will be hidden under clothes anyway.

I'm still mildly in disbelief that I've ordered one, and keep expecting to wake up and find my order cancelled (for no good reason, I'm paid up and everything).

I'm waiting for a tan human Fairyline Sia, I just can't believe it !

 

Silly question... I've never ordered a new doll from Fairyland, all mine have been previously loved. What is the usual turnover time for new dolls?

 

Depends on how busy they are, but lately they've been pretty quick.
By pretty quick I mean I ordered Liria in tan (which adds an extra 10 days) back on June 21st, and got her in September 11th. That was an order through DDE, which usually adds an extra 2-4 weeks to the order time, so we're looking at about 2 months or less for most of us if they keep up their current production levels.
Just gotta keep in mind how busy post is gonna be in 2 months... I won't get my hopes up for before Xmas just to be kind to my nerves.

 

There's also the fact that they just sold out of 300 FLine girls in under two days, which may also set their schedule back a bit. Still, I know Liria went fast, too, and that they got her shipped out in under 3 months in a DDE order is promising to their current production times.

My order in 2013 (3 LTFs and one event item) took a bit under 3 months (arrived just after Christmas), and the one I placed last year (3 LTF, 2 MNF, various extra parts and event items) was a little over 4 months, so I'm anticipating around 3-3.5 months on this order (1 NS LTF, 1 TS LTF, 1 FL with all option parts, and event items) as a minimum, myself, but will be very pleasantly surprised if it comes faster.
