Fail fix

Jun 23, 2021

    1. I picked up a few when they were on sale for about $9 USD a few weeks back.

I think they're kinda cute. And their shoes fit Liv dolls and Creatable World dolls pretty well. Also, their tiny bodies are easy to disassemble, and my little Licca-chan knock off head looks pretty cute on them. Bratz clothing fits nicely.

Then, I put a Fail Fix head on a cheap 18(+) inch plastic body, and I'm telling you - it's a perfect fit. Looks like she was made for an MSD body. The only downside is that the neck opening is tiny. My first attempt at opening it up looked like a crime scene.

Anyway, I think they are kinda anime-inspired in their design. Now that they're being discontinued, you can get them pretty cheap.

      Anyone else have any?

    2. I have all the Kawaii heads, the default Arty and Evening Glamour ones. My Kawaii is on an Obitsu24 body and I think it looks perfect for her! The Arty and Glamour ones I am going to find a Azone tan Pure Neemo body for since they are the same skin color.

I think they are great! Their default bodies are really cheap but their hair is alright (do not blow dry it for too long) and their face ups are really well done! I also like they are include the 'follow me eyes' and each doll has its own face mold!

    3. I also like "masks" - not the bubble ones, but the original face? I've seen a couple people use them as practice face up canvases, which I think is ingenious.

    4. I'm waiting on one more to complete my set. I really like them; the concept was so creative and I'm sad they're being discontinued. I'm surprised the head would work on a different size of body!

    5. They are being discontinued? Where did you see that? Unfortunate.

    6. Mostly from "doll experts" as I think of them - people who follow doll news closely. I don't know if there's been an official statement, but there are some impressive doll news reporters in a couple FB groups who seem to get news leaked to them first.

    7. That line didn't come to Brazil as far as I know, but I ordered two a while ago and they're on the way. I'm excited to see them in person, they're so cute, it's a shame they're being discontinued! I got a Kawaii and a Glamour :aheartbea

    8. That's how I found out too, but also some of the product listings on Amazon say 'cancelled' after the title, so unfortunately I think it's true. The world just wasn't ready!

    9. That is a shame because I have seen a number of "toy doll" collectors on Instagram fall head over heels for them.

    10. I should probably get some extras just incase they get hard to find and my customizing goes wayward.

    11. I had a bunch of them but wasn't super keen on them. I gave them to my friend since her and her sister in law really like them, but I did keep a pair of shoes for one of my OMG dolls as they fit really well.

    12. I think they're pretty cute. I got the Kawaii one, I'm ordering a Glam one, and I do think I'd like to get Artee too, but I only really like her common variant's makekup.

    13. @MaleficentMrsofEvil I would really love to see your hybrid! I have mine on Azone bodies myself, I absolutely love the combination of chunkier bodies with those heads. It’s one of my favourite fashion doll lines ever because of the cute characterful heads.

I am also sorry to see it go! It’s really sad that any doll line not from the big three just dies after one wave.

    14. I feel they probably did poorly because a lot of people were seeing them as negative when they first released, instead of being creative toys teaching kids how to try again if you don't do it right the first time, it seems a lot of adults thought they were trying to tell kids, "you are ugly so fix yourself." Which is kind of nuts, considering the "fix it" aspect of the toy, is the make up, not the actual doll. These are children toys after all, and as sad as it might be to grown-up toy collectors, if parents don't like or want to purchase a toy for their kids due to negative stigma, the toy will do poorly because niche grown-up doll-collectors don't make up the sales margin for them to continue any line.

I only own three of them so far, not including the double I got of Kawaii QTee to attempt to repaint her (someday). I like their faces a lot, but not their proportions (I wish their head were much smaller, or their bodies much taller). Their hair leaves a lot to be desired, but I heard that the pest are doing quite well. I hope I can get a few, since they are stylized as well, and I don't mind stylized animal dolls -- I haven't seen those in stores near me, and I always forget to check online.

*niche, not nice.. stupid autocorrect fails me once more!

    15. I hadn't even seen these before this thread, so they're already pretty much gone from the stores, but they're cute so I ordered Kawaii and QTee Kitty from Amazon just now. There's a good chance I'll look for different bodies for both of them, but I'll see how I feel when they show up. :)

    16. AliExpress is selling the heads for $4 shipped! Sorry I never posted pictures of the hybrid - a Rainbow High head stole the body.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to put a Failfix head on an old Resinsoul/Bobobie body - and I will definitely post pictures of that!

    17. I liked the masks having different expressions. Too many dolls are smiling or expressionless. In my younger days a doll with a worried expression would have gone over great with me.

It was the online beauty vlogger influencer aspect that wasn't sitting well. If your self esteem is still being built it doesn't help to have a line of toys that tell you that you're a failure if you don't fall into their very narrow standards of beauty/acceptability. Having the dolls do regular grooming, washing, combing and styling hair, or fixing recipes and projects could work. The line of pets needing to be cleaned up is a good idea.
