Faceups Faceupping a Spiderlass (Doll Chateau Elizabeth)

Apr 27, 2024

    1. I recently repainted my Doll Chateau Elizabeth, named Itsy Betsy, as I despised the first faceup I put on her (way too bold) and it was horribly chipped from her repeated jumps off her shelf in the cabinet.

I managed to take several in progress shots of the facuep, so let me share those:

First thing first, I wiped my girl, just look at how clean she is!

The first layer after the base sealant coats is just the eyebrow bases. Additionally I sketched in the extra eyes I wanted to paint on her with pencil. Since she’s a spider she needs more than two eyes in my opinion.

The next layer I start to add blushing and contouring on the face. You can see I started to define the shading around the fake eyes too

On this layer I deepened the blushing, painted the eyebrows and eyeliner, and defined the detailing around the fake eyes.

This was the final step before the finishing touches. I painted in the irises of the fake eyes, added painted lashes on the actual eyes, and added a good mount of shimmer

And here is the Faceup all done! Gloss and eyelashes were added to the spots needed and I put some eyes in her that matched the painted eyes pretty well. I’m pleased with the end result!

And all together plus a quick comparison to her old Faceup.

      Thanks for looking!

    2. She came out so beautiful :0 I especially love the purple-pink blushing, it really compliments her skin.

    3. I just love how she turned out! It was a beautiful update. Her extra eyes are so well rendered and I agree, really bring the concept together!

    4. Thank you! Blushing grey resin is always such a challenge, but I’m glad it translates well!
Thank you! I was just so unhappy with her old faceup, that I barely minded having to wipe it (I hate wiping my own faceups, it’s so much work!), but I’m so glad I redid her

    5. She looks beautiful! I think the styling of her also works really well with the new face up. I'm a big fan!

    7. Thank you so much! She just ended up way softer than I initially imagined and styled her for, so the dramatic faceup was just waaaay too much.
Ah thank you! She had double eyes before, but they were along the outer edges of her brow-bone, and kept disappearing in the wig. I'm so glad I decided to move the eyes down to her cheekbones instead

    8. The other way was pretty too! It’d probably be really annoying that the hard work gets covered up by the wig though!:lol: I definitely love the way it’s done now, the second set of eyes look much more prominent on the cheeks bones!:D
